"What type of pet do you have?" Emmy asked. " I'm sure he will be fine."
"I have a little kitten." she said smiling, she decided she wanted to get to know Emerald a little more so she had better ask some question, "So, Emerald, What's your family like?" She asked smiling.
Kyle smiled still at the thought of the new Professor being a former 'Ravenclaw' that would be great. Maybe, just maybe she'd favor Ravenclaw and give them help winning the house cup - they sure needed it with their top point gainer Emily Browne having graduated.
"I wasn't at the ministry party either - but my aunt works at the Ministry and said something about not wanting to work with Borr" she remarked quietly. When he brought up him running off mid lesson she couldn't help but laugh.
"Well, - if that happens I reckon we should start our own Ravenclaw Defense against Dark Arts class - possibly on the middle of the grounds...or in the common room" she smiled happily laughing a bit. The idea of a disappearing Professor wasn't a good one but it was a relief - him bringing up the ship made her stop laughing - a serious and inquisitive look plaguing her face.
"I've got no idea about it" she replied quietly, sighing she took a sip of her pumpkin juice. Before speaking her little curious smile spread across her face, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "But I have to admit I do want to investigate it further - and hopefully thats what the three missing Professors are you know doing...investigating the big ship" she pondered for a minute. That almost seemed to easy.
"Yeah, maybe then we could get some points," he said and rolled his eyes. "I'm sick of losing to Slytherin and almost losing to Hufflepuff too." They needed to win. WIN IN MERLIN'S NAME! Not that Hugo was a competative person. At all... "I think I might try out for Quidditch this term, what about you?" he asked. Quidditch always had been a fun sport for him though in first year there was the tournament and last year, he simply forgot. Maybe he forgot on purpous, because he thought he wouldn't be good enough. Maybe...
"Yeah, I think that was one of the reasons my brother decided to move to New York," he said and finished his chicken. "Aside from him getting a sweet job and an awesome house." The apartment really was awesome. "Well it's probably true," he chuckled when she laughed. "Everyone says how important that guy feels!"
"That'd be splendid. Kind of like the Y.W.H.O.-" It made him remember Eino. Where wassehhh. "But more serious," he said.
"I kinda feel like sneaking out in the middle of the night and explore that thing," he said and a mysterious smile spread across his face. "Though I reckon the thing will be packed with adventure-seeking Gryffindors," Hugo chuckled as he refilled his cup with pumpkin juice. "And I would probably get eaten by the squid when I try to swim to the ship," he said and giggled just after taking a sip of his juice so the juice splurted out his nose. "Woops!"

"Oooh, my family..." Emmy began with a mischievious grin. "Well, I have three brothers, two older and one younger, and then there are my parents. Dad's usually busy, so I don't see him much. Mum makes herself busy, planning balls and such. She dosen't like shopping or going to the cinema, so we don't really do much together, unless she's having the seamstress measure me for new clothes. " she paused to take a breath. " My eldest brother and I always used to hang out together, but he's in college now. Eli, my other older brother, is always gone with his.....friends." More like partners in crime, she thought" My little brother Ethan is basically my constant companion now. I hope he'll be okay, now that I'm gone." Emmy trailed off, now slighty depressed. "So, what's your family like?" she said, trying to cheer up a bit. It was her first day at Hogwarts after all!!

Kyle looked up to the little Gryffindor who had walked over to her. Raising an eyebrow almost inspecting him. Aah it was that little boy who had flirted with everyone in Diagon Alleys he considered biting her lip she shook her head.
"I don't think I know your cousin - and yeah, I'm Kyle...its really Kyleigh Elizabeth Manning - but Kyle's good...more well...i mean less girly-girl? You know?" She rambled a bit.
" I will tell Rex Trigwell you do not know him" William told Kyle. William knowa Rex knows Kyle. " I guess I was wrong but he talked about a blonde girl named Kyle" William explained to her." Yes, less girly-girl" William sighed,

Alice smiled "Your family sounds absolutely interesting!" Alice smiled. "Well, my entire family is part of the Victorian Historical Society on Prince Edward Island, which is in Canada." She started, "My family lives as if we were a regular Victorian family I guess. My mother loves to do potions though, she keeps all of her stuff in the attic of our house. My father is nice, but quiet. In my family I tend to do most of the talking, I just talk and talk and talk and dad just smiles from under his handlebar mustache. Mother and I sew all fo our clothes, which is quite fun. I also read a lot, father reads to us int he evenings while we sit round the fire, him in his big wing back chair. mother in her rocking chair and I sit on the carpet right next to the fire with Percival, my kitten that I've mentioned, mothers Raven Hubert, and fathers rat Norrington. Surprisingly Norrington and Percival and Hubert all get along quite well." She said then smiled at Emerald once more.
"What do you like to do in your spare time? does your family have one of those... telephones? Or a gasoline car?" she asked interested.

Victoria looked up and down the Ravenclaw table for her friends, she started to play with her engagement ring again.
Rowan was looking around for a familiar face. Her sister had not yet appeared at the Slytherin table, so she started to look around at her house table and spotted Victoria. She moved closer to the girl and said, "Hi Victoria. Remember me?"
Adelyn laughed and hugged back as Melina jumped out of her seat to hug her. "Well, don't cry now!" She said, teasing Melina. "I knew you'd be in this house. It was just meant for you!"
She smiled at her little sister's undying-excitement, remembering that's exactly how she was when she first got to Hogwarts. "Yes, I promised that, and it's still true. We'll see each other all the time." Adelyn reassured her, knowing that that had probably been bothering her for a while. "The food here is delicious! My only advice on that...try everything!"
"Well, after the feast, we'll get to go to our common rooms and such. Then we should be starting classes soon. You'll get to wander the grounds a bit, explore the castle maybe. There's always something to do!" Adelyn could feel her own excitement building just talking about all there was to do. Gosh, was she glad to finally be back. "As for when you can see me, I'm here now." She giggled. "And we'll see each other in the Great Hall during other meals, on the grounds, in class, whenever you want."
Melina let out a huge sigh of relief. There would be enough time to hang out with her big sis. "I hear that our common room is up in one of the towers, apparently just the opposite of Slytherin's. Is their common room really in the dungeons under the Black Lake?!" Melina shuddered at the mental images she was producing. "Where are the Gryffindor common room and dorms?" she asked Adelyn.
She knew she'd better let Adelyn get back to her friends at the Gryffie table; everyone over there seemed to be catching up from the summer. "I know you've got to go now, but do you think we could meet somewhere sometime, to explore the castle. I'd want my knowledgeable Big Sister to make sure I don't get lost!" she grinned up at her.
The BIGGEST mistake ever. He was soooo going to pay for it. He knew.
Right. She already knew how he felt about the whole camera thing, even if she'd been nice enough to take a couple pictures for him. It did come in handy, the camera, but still, her answer on that matter didn't interest much as the next. It was that reply that will allow him to know exactly in HOW much trouble he could be.

And the LOOK. She didn't need to say anything else. He swallowed before speaking again, YES, he was still trying to mend it, "That's...good to know." There was a MAJOR change in his voice this time, it was clearly not as cheerful as before, and he had looked away from Ellie before replying. The LOOK, he didn't enjoy it one bit. Stupid mistake.
He was playing with his fingers now, and hoping Maya would come and interrupt him like she did last year, he'd soooo welcome her, for real.
"I--I got you something from the World Cup," which she wasn't going to get as long as she kept giving him LOOKS.
How come he felt like he'd lost something?
"Fifth year, as well," he nodded, trying to smile...and quite possibly failing at doing so, "Do you like Quidditch?" it wasn't like he'd turned his back to Ivy and Dallin, so, he could still talk to the boy, right? As long as he didn't ignore the girl next to him.
Mhm, Treyen Lockhart, you HOPE it's good. It was also a FIB, but Ellie wasn't going to get into the technicalities.
The girl watched him. Quite curiously, too. Like WHAT was he doing with his fingers? Strange. Odd.

"You did?" She was getting so many PRESENTS today!!!
Butwait...cuz...if he got her a present from the World Cup...then..."YOU WENT to the WORLD CUP?!!" THIS is what happens when people don't correspond over long periods of time.
She was SO jealous, too. SO jealous. Honestly, she had picked the WORST summer to spend in the majority of in the non-magical world. See what she MISSED? Her daddy, training, the World Cup. And the worst part was that they had LOST. And it was ALL HER FAULT. If she'd GONE, they would've WON.
"How was it??? Was it exciting???" Ellie hadn't read into the details in the Prophet. She'd gone to who won, and once disappointed, didn't bother with the rest.
And now Treyen was talking to Dallin. Which she was happy about cuz...he was being weird and this made him more normal. PLUS he wasn't cutting her off of the Dallin world anymore if he was talking to him. So, Ellie could talk as well. But she won't. Not just yet. Because she was interested in Dal's answer. He should SO try out this term.

You can use my owl if you want, if you can't find me. He's usually in with all of the other owls, and if you send a message with him, he'll find me. But I'll show you the entire castle if I have to; there will be no getting lost on my watch." Adelyn assured her little sister with a grin.

She was happy, even though most of her friends were in gryffindor, she knew she would make lots of friends in her new house. She walked up to the ravenclaw table and sat down. 'Well, it wasn't much really, just I was left alone and felt like a right loner! And then Jordan and Thomas came back and I complained to them. Then, Jordan said he didn't mean to walk of, then I was OK again, but then, he said he never went anywhere like really sarcastically and then I walked off...' Rose said sadly
