OWLs. Why did they always have to come up in conversations? Somehow, some way, they kept popping up and refused to let her go very long without worrying thinking about them. "Yeah, sort of," Vashti answered. "You should definitely start studying as soon as possible, I think, so you don't have to freak out about what to study come fifth year." Like she was now, even though she'd sort of starting preparing and studying for them before this year.
He just is. "That doesn't really tell me a lot," she replied. She'd never liked those "just because" answers anyway. And- torture?? "He...doesn't?" she replied, more liked a question than an actual answer. Where'd Louisa get that idea anyway? "Quidditch isn't torture," she decided to add.
Glancing up at the staff table when the girl mentioned the teachers, Vashti wondered who had been replaced. Hopefully there was someone to fill the spot of Herbology professor, and hopefully that person didn't like teaching about human-eating plants. She turned her attention back to Louisa though as the girl continued speaking. "You didn't take Defense against the Dark Arts before?" Wasn't that a required subject? Then again, to Vashti, every subject was required, so... "Oh, she's not that bad," she said in reply to Louisa's apparent dismay. "Really, she's kinda okay now."
Louisa raised her eyebrows at the Quidditch-Is-Not-A-Torture thing. "Sitting on a broom for hours is torture to me." Not that she ever sat on a broom that long, not even during the flying lessons. Oh and speaking of brooms, "Erm… you know Vashti um I.. bought a broom this year." She said quietly, forgetting about her discomfort toward the boy quickly, and smiled nervously. "To…um.. you know… try to balance myself better….while flying." She added leaning in toward her friend. What if someone passed by and took that on her? Like Enya, her best friend? That would be a disaster.
Turning back to the staff table she nodded, "I didn't attend DADA last year… but I studied some on my own to pass the exam." Which was a bad decision by the way, "But I am intending it this year." She shot a meaningful look at the fifth year friend, "You know, if I am going to take revenge for my kitten, I should do great in DADA. Right?" Hint hint.
The professor was okay now? "Oh, I didn't mean the professor herself. I meant the subject she gave. I'd never done a potion right on my own.. and believe me if she just wasn't as serious as she is, I would've done better." Because Louisa was good at everything, and if something was wrong then it was someone else's fault. *stares* who are you calling big headed?
So many first years today. Jeanne forgot what it's like to be at Hogwarts for the first time. Then she saw an adorable first year across. She was eating alone, quietly. Jeanne can tell she was shy... most of them were. Jeanne decided to acquaint herself with the first years "hello." she smiled at her. "I'm Jeanne, a fourth year. Congratulations in making it to Ravenclaw." she added.
"It's nice to meet you Jeanne. I'm Yukiko this is my first year here. I'm really excited about being here and about being in Ravenclaw." Yukiko said to the girl across from her. She was glad that someone came over to talk to her because she was too shy to begin conversations just yet.

Jeanne smiled at the young girl in front of her. She took a bite from her food and took a sip from her pumpkin juice. She saw a lot of new Ravenclaws today. That's nice. "Are you anticipating for anything this term perhaps?" she asked the girl. Well, everyone is expecting something for the term. Some may shock us, some night bore us. "Do you like quidditch perhaps?" Jeanne asked her. First years are always encouraged to enter in quidditch and stuffs. It's best they do partake in such activities. Speaking of Quidditch, Jeanne should try out as well. Well, if she could prove she's good at it.

Apparently he'd been sorted into Slytherin. He was a tad disappointed with this.. the thought of having to sleep in a dungeon made his skin crawl slightly. How absolutely gross. He hoped the house elves kept it spick and span down there - he hadn't thought of packing cleaning products.
What Knox had failed to notice, was that the Great Hall had tables split into the four houses. Unawares, the newly sorted Slytherin simply hurried to the nearest table and squeezed himself onto the bench.
"Can someone pass me the pumpkin juice?" He asked noone in particular. "I'm absolutely parched!"

Finlay had to go and say hello.....he was the headboy after all.
Ahh. The guy wanted some pumpkin juice. Well may as well get him some. Standing up, Finlay picked up a jug of pumpkin juice, and wandered over to the guy, placing the jug on the table, before sittin down himself. "Hey..." Well this felt a little weird.

Hugo took another sip of his pumpkin juice. He was quite tired, though the train ride seemed to have been way faster than the last couple rides. He couldn't wait to go to the common room and read his book by the fire. He liked the rain outside, but hoped he could visit the lake tomorrow.
Hugo looked up at the nice girl introducing herself. He shook her hand and once he let go, he spoke. "I'm Hugo," he said and smiled a bit shyly. "Third yea Ravenclaw," he said as he inspected her. "I haven't seen you around before, are you new?" he asked. Transfers were a normal thing, apperently.
"Oh, hey Kyle," Hugo said and shot her a quick smile. "Yeah she does, I think she was a Ravenclaw," he said. The lady was glancing at his table and speaking to Vindictus, who was rather confused about something. Maybe she told him about one of the muggle sports, which made Hugo confused too sometimes. Like that one sport, with teams only consisting of beaters and they have to beat a tiny, non-magical bludger somewhere. It was very confusing.
"Sure does," he replied, chugging the last of his pumpkin juice. "I have no idea. I don't know the guy that well, because I wansn't invited to that ministry party," he said and remembered the only time in his life he was actually quite jealous. But it seemed he hadn't missed anything. "I dunno but something about that bloke being the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher doesn't feel right. Our lessons are going to be boring and he'll probably run off in the middle of the lesson to do some important ministry stuff," he said and rolled his eyes. "So what is this about the ship in the black lake?" he asked. He was quite interested and maybe Kyle knew more about it.
Hugo glanced at the quiet firstie across from him eating her food. He smiled at her friendly. "Hi there," he said. "Welcome to Ravenclaw! I'm Hugo, third year," he said and extended his arm for her to shake.

Emmy almost jumped with happiness when she saw that Serena had been sorted in Ravenclaw. Yes! Seeing that her friend was talking with another first year, Emmy decided to just wave to her.

Knox swiveled in his seat, brow furrowing as he took in the table the boy was pointing out. It was only then that he noticed.. everyone over there was wearing the same attire as himself. Green. And everyone over here was in..
"That's not fair," he pouted with a small sigh, "blue is totally my colour." It matched his eyes. Green was gross - like bogies and slime. And it was going to clash with all of his accessories. He was going to have to change his entire wardrobe!
But that, he'd deal with later. The first person he'd met here was the Headboy. The Headboy with the pretty hair. It was fate! "I'm Knox.. transferred here from Beauxbatons."

Knox wrinkled his nose when Finn stated that perhaps green will be his new colour. He very much doubted it. Not only was he forced to live in a dungeon, but now he had to wear bogie colours. And there he was thinking maybe Hogwarts would be cooler than Beauxbatons.

The girls would have even more reasons to love him then. "But I can see why you came here." Was probably less travel really.
"Umm...Don't think so." Or he and Jimmy would probably have changed by now. Although he did feel that ravenclaw had some advantages. The nice big tower. They practically looked down upon everyone...which Finlay didn't mind doing at all. In actual fact that should all worship him. It'd be pretty epic. "Well...ylou could try that."

"Yes, I am also a first year!" Alice smiled. "I wonder if our pets will be okay... poor Percival hasn't spent one moment away from me since I got him until now. He's probably terribly afraid." She said her eyes wandering across the room slowly taking it all in.

Knox raised his eyebrows, the corners of his lips twitching in amusement. Oh, he understood that look and had a vague idea of what was running through Finn's mind right now. Naughty, naughty Headboy! "Beauxbaton's was nice," he said dreamily, sipping at his pumpkin juice.
It sucked though, that there didn't seem to be a way of switching houses. He was totally going to give that colour-changing charm a try if the dungeons turned out to be unbearable.. which c'mon they probably were. Dungeons. That's where they kept that bad guys in fairytales.. they were meant to be gross!
"So, is it totally awesome being the Headboy?" He asked, sneaking a glance at Finn. He expected it was.

Olivia sat down with the rest of the Ravenclaws, noticing how most of the first years had ended up in a clump that she was now a part of. She gave the Slytherin table a wistful look. She'd been hoping to be in Slytherin, thinking it to be the most interesting of the houses. Plus, cleverness was definitely something she valued. Stupidity tended to bother her.
However, she brightened when she realized that, at least, stupidity wouldn't be a ruling feature of her house either. Ravenclaw. She might not have found the Ravenclaw legacy to be particularly interesting, but at least she would be surrounded with minds of the same caliber of her own.
Pushing away the still sore and let down part of her that wished she'd been in Slytherin, Olivia turned and looked around for someone to talk to. It seemed that everyone was already in the midst of timid conversation and so, Olivia decided to watch for now rather than speak. She didn't want to interrupt and she also was suddenly feeling rather shy and friendless.
Despite her frightened feelings, Olivia knew that nothing would be greater than Hogwarts once she'd met people and got started in her classes, and until then, she simply waited, listening to the sounds of conversation.

Luna got sorted to Ravenclaw she was very happy she was very clever and liked to know everything when she was thinking where abouts to sit she saw a girl sitting by herself she decided to go over to her since she didnt know many people at hogwarts either so she went over to the girl ''Hello i'm Luna Kierens first year'' said Luna ''Whats you're name'' she said begining to sit down when she sat she then said ''Are you in first year two'' trying to make conversation Luna sat down next to her quite happy with herself that she came over
