Just as she was about to open the door leading to the dorms, a shout stopped her. She blinked and turned and somehow wasn't surprised to see Louisa waving wildly at her, sitting by a boy who's name Vashti didn't know though she was sure she'd probably seen him in class. Briefly she considered just waving and then excusing herself to go up to bed, but decided it wouldn't hurt to talk with those two for a bit.

"Hey," she said as she reached them, giving them both a sleepy smile without sitting down.

"No, no, I didn't say that," Melina added quickly. She was always up for an adventure... she just wanted to live through it.

Putting on her bravest face, she said, "Let's go, Luna- I'm here for you."

''Oh i'm sorry'' Luna felt awkward now because she they just met and somthing awfull popped up in conversation, She knew how it felt to loose some of your family ''My mother and sister died, And my father is going to pass away any day now!''

Luna nodded ''First year yes i'm twelve since February'' said Luna ''Happy Birthday I think I have a packet of sweets on me'' she took out her bag she had everything in it she took out honeydukes selection box she handed Beth the box of sweets

Beth groaned. "I'm not telepathic." She assured her. "I just,er, sent off some sort of vibe..." She cut off, realising what the girl had said. "Really?" She exclaimed, quite surprised anyone would want to help her, especially since they didn't even know her. "...Thanks." She said, still quite surprised.

"No, it's not like that..." Said Beth, "It's not like that at all." she didn't want to mention that she was happy her aunt died. And also, she wasn't ready to tell anyone the full truth about her past.

Luna decided she'd skip this subject because she was sure Beth didn't want to discuss it ''I can't believe we have to go i'll miss Hogwarts how about you'' Yeah thats a pretty good subject and popular aswell she thought

Louisa's heart gave an extra happy beat when Dallin seemed not to know Vashti. That made the older girl risk-free… somehow. Looking up at her standing friend, she said quietly, "Aren't you going to sit down for a bit?" Staring at Vashti's face for a moment, Louisa frowned slightly, "Are you okay? You look awful," As in very pale with dark circles under your eyes. And nope, she had no shame to save the comment until Dallin wasn't around.

Oh! Introductions, "Vashti, this is my friend Dallin." She gestured at him with her hand almost smacking his face in the process. Measuring how close she was sitting now was nowhere in her sleepy head. "And Dallin, I already told you, this is my friend Vashti. She's actually my best friend." A smirk was shot at Vashti, see? I can be polite. When I want to.

And nope, she wasn't going to let him say that he was boring without correcting that MASSIVELY wrong idea, "And you're not boring! You're the funniest person I've ever met," said Louisa, grinning confidently, totally ignoring the fact that Vashti -standing there- was one of those person I've met.

"Er, yeah..." Said Beth, chewing her lip as she spoke. "I don't really know what to do about my birthday..." She said, "I don't really know anyone." By which she meant, I don't have any friends.

"I like to help younger students!" Victoria told Beth as she put her wedding magazine back in her bag.

Dallin looked down at his knees, trying to seem uninterested in the girls' conversation. He thought about excusing himself and leaving them to themselves, but Louisa had already introduced him and that would probably be sort of rude.

He half-waved to Vashti, who he could see did look tired. "Hey, I'm Dallin." Of course Louisa had already said that, but Dal didn't know what else to say. "Nice to meet you." Yupp.


When Louisa spoke to him again, he smirked. "Really? You must not hang around funny people." Eh, it didn't really matter to him anyway. "But thanks. That's nice." He smiled at her and nodded.

Vashti shrugged. "I'm okay. Just tired." Very tired. Why had Louisa called her over here exactly?

She was unable to ask because then Louisa was introducing her to her friend, so the fifth year managed a smile. "Nice to meet you, Dallin." And it was nice. Meeting new people was always nice. Sleep was nice too. Yeah, and- Eh? Best friend? Vashti blinked in surprise. She hadn't ever thought Louisa considered her her best friend. But she'd realized awhile ago that there was a lot she didn't know or think about when it came to Louisa.

Vashti was feeling a little awkward just standing there while Louisa turned back to talk to Dallin. She felt like she was intruding or something, and she was too tired to be offended by what was potentially an insult to her sense of humor (or apparently a lack of one). She wasn't sure whether it would be rude to excuse herself or not, so she stayed by them for now.

Louisa almost snorted at Vashti's short and simple reply, "Yeah. I kind of figured that out by myself thanks. How was your OWLs?" Maybe that was why she was tired? With a side look at Dallin that said See-How-A-Fifth-Year-Student-Must-Look-After-Exams.

"You can go to sleep if you want. But Dallin and I are staying up all night!" it just popped up in her mind, in fact. But Dallin wouldn't object.. would he? O_O "It's one of those last nights we're going to spend together. Why don't you join us?" She patted the place on the couch next to her. "He's got OWLs too, by the way," Louisa didn't look at him while pointing out that fact- she took it on her own shoulder to let the school know about that so..

"We should do something in case we fell asleep.." her tone was too serious and one might think they were guarding a treasure in the room... in Louisa's head there truly was a treasure.

Dal totally ignored the look that Louisa gave him; he knew what it was about. Apparently Vasthi was tired from her OWLs, and Dal should be too. But he wasn't. And besides, who was it that was encouraging him to stay up late? Hmm, Louisa?

He nodded to Vashti though, showing that he didn't mind if she joined them. Maybe that keep Louisa preoccupied from asking him questions. AND apparently they were staying up all night. O_O Sure, for as long as that lasted. He groaned lightly, leaning his head against the couch again when Louisa mentioned his OWLs. "You care a lot about my OWLs, don'tcha?" he asked her, raising an eyebrow.

That look quickly turned suspicious, though, when she mentioned doing something to stay up. "What did you have in mind?"

"They went okay. I hope." Oh Merlin- No. No, she wasn't going to even go the panicky "I swear I failed them all I just know it!" route - not now at least. Once she got some sleep (or, probably, if she didn't get any sleep), that was when she'd start panicking and letting everyone know that she was a failure and would live the rest of her life poor and homeless. Right now, her mind was too exhausted from a year of studying and two weeks of exams to really care.

Louisa seemed pretty insistent on Vashti hanging around though. "Are you sure?" she asked, glancing at both of them. She didn't want to intrude on their "last night together." And oh - so Dallin was in the same year as Vashti then. How he wasn't feeling as tired as she was was beyond her. Perhaps he was just really good at hiding it.

And...what was this something Louisa had in mind to keep them awake? o___O

Rolling her eyes at Vashti's shyness, Louisa grabbed her friend's sleeve and pulled gently, "We're sure of course." really, no need to be so cautious with them. Okay? Okay.

She did care about his OWLs alot? Louisa blinked. Err... well, yeah.. she kind of.. did.. care... about EVERYTHING.

Ahem.

As a friend. So.. "Yea.. shouldn't I be?" and please, don't answer that, pleeeeeease. She looked from Dallin to Vashti with a huge evil grin on her face, "I want to show you guys something!" She jumped off the couch and faced them both, "It's under my bed.. and it's extremely secretive... swear that you won't tell ANYONE about it!" She pointed a serious demanding finger at the space between them both. "If you do, I'm going to go up there and get it. If you can't hold your tongue... just say it!" Her eyes were squinted toward Vashti in particular.. the girl never ratted Louisa out or anything, but she could be... righteous.

Aw Merlin. Louisa was still insisting that Vashti stay, and tired as she was, Vashti wasn't up for arguing or trying to get away politely. So she consented and finally sat down, hoping they both - or at least Louisa - would fall asleep soon before Vashti got too loopy. It wasn't a very pleasant experience for other people when this sixteen-year-old Ravenclaw didn't get the sleep she needed.

Eh? Secretive? And they couldn't tell anyone about it? Those words very rarely meant anything good coming from Louisa, and Vashti's eyes might've narrowed ever so slightly. But still she said, "I can keep a secret just fine." And she certainly could. She had loads of secrets - whether her own or others - that she'd never told anyone about.

Should she not care?

Dallin blinked, stumped. "I didn't say you shouldn't, I just - nevermind." He shook his head. Lovely; he was starting to get tired. And that meant that he would start being easily confused and distracted. And that was just how he didn't need to be when around people. He was starting to regret telling Louisa he wanted to stay up late - he should have taken the offer to go to bed when she gave it.

Of course, he wasn't going to go now, because he just couldn't bring himself to leave when Vashti had just joined them and Louisa was excited about showing them something. Something secretive. "I won't tell," he promise a bit absently. Of course he wouldn't; he was very good at keeping secrets.

Satisfied by their rather expected answer, she ran toward the dorms.. the boys' dorms because she was just too excited to pay attention to such insignificant det--

"WHAO!" She got zapped backward and fell on her butt, staring blankly up at the staircase. Err... what? Oh yeah! Getting up quickly, she was murmuring under her breath about charmed stairs and their big head. "I'll be back in a minute, don't.. do anything." She called back to the two half-asleep friends sitting on the couch. She didn't really think they'd do anything but still.. she needed to be clear about that. Don't do anything without her; not now. Not ever. Every girl should be warned from now on. Ahem.

Few moments later, Louisa was racing for the couch in her PJs and lovely pink ballet slippers holding a big something under a blanket. "I'm here!" She announced loudly when she was very close to the couch and removed the blanket off the thing partly so they could have a look at it. Her precious profit.. illegal profit. A smirk was drawn on her face.
