Zara laughed as she took a quick glance at the two students which Tayla referred to. They sure were hungry. "Hahaha! I think that they would have a nice trip to the bathroom soon." Zara said, still chuckling.

"Well, I do hope it's soon. I miss Eirwen, my owl. You're lucky you get to bring your cat with you. What's his or her name?" Zara asked. And yawned again. "I feel like yawning is never ending." She said, as she let out another yawn. Just hearing or thinking about the word itself makes her yawn. And, she yawned once again. It's was a yawn-ful day. Zara chuckled at her own joke, since only she could hear it.

'I didn't! He came to find me, I think the cats are just allowed to wander round..?' Ella bit her lip, 'He's called Henry..' She was still scratching his head.

Rosemary smiled as she nodded before continuing her feasting, listening to the others only making comments if she needed to.

Matt laughed, "Yeah, it was!" The rather revolting memory of his younger sister vomiting the whole meal back up again whooshed to the front of his thoughts. He grimaced; "My sister's sick was fluorescent green...It went everywhere." He shuddered; he didn't feel so hungry anymore... "My dad isn't much better..." Cheese and crackers was all he could make, and even that was pushing it. "But me?" He puffed out his chest, pushing his fear away with his newfound sense of arrogance. It burnt through his nerves, so he rode it. Anything to stop his incessant jittering. "Well, I'm pretty amazing at cooking, if I do say so myself." Eh. Amazing was pushing it. But still, he winked, trying to soften the blow of his sudden...well, stuck-up-ishness.

He frowned, thinking. "Well...If you ever need a hand in the cooking department, let me know." He smiled at her, quite properly this time and took another mouthful of his food.

"Got a younger sister, and two older brothers." he said between bites. "Ah, you're lucky. Trust me." Matt shook his head. Siblings were hell sometimes, specially since he was the middle child - he always seemed to go unnoticed, which, actually, he rather liked; he could cause all sorts of mischief without being blamed for it. "Why don't you ask your parents if you can have a younger sister or brother?" he asked, frowning slightly. Wouldn't that be the obvious thing to do?

Leaning back in his seat slightly, the first signs of fatigue clinging to his eyelids, he sunk into the gentle warmth of his robes. Ahh, Gryffindor. He was so happy, so honoured. He sniffed and itched his nose. "They were ok... The lake's pretty pretty." he said, blinking. Matt laughed at this; "Seriously?" He shook his head. "Naa, nothing that interesting. Just a couple of owls fighting over a frog. But that would've been hilarious to watch... Wish I was around back then." he said, grinning with an unearthed amusement.

The Gryffindor blushed a little, the welcomed drug of arrogance slowly wearing off as the fact that Ari (finally, a name), was a girl. A girl girl. A girl girl girl girl girl girl. Ow. *hides*

"Um. Yeah. Don't worry about it." He ran his hand through his hair, attempting to hide the reddening of his cheeks. The corners of his lips turned upwards, "Nice to meet you, Ari."

Matt swallowed, a thin layer of sweat beginning to build up on his forehead. "M-Matt." he said, attempting a smile. He twiddled with his fingers distractedly - ARGH. NERVES - and, with full terror of the female species returned, he bit back the urge to run.

Shoving another large spoonful of whatever it was he'd decided to put on his plate into his awaiting gob, he tried to loosen the knot in his stomach. It wouldn't budge. Sighing slightly, he nodded, mouth full, attempting a grin. "Yemf, imph's grafe." SWALLOW.

...He swallowed.

"I mean, yeah, it's great." The Gryffindor looked up at Nika sheepishly, dark eyes pearing out from beneath his fringe.

Ella ran up the table after finally spotting Nika. After waving to her she stopped and scowled. Oh look who it is.. she thought.
Talking to a girl.. he obviously had a problem with her..
Before turning to walk back down to her seat, she gave him a sweet smile and waggled her fingers at him. Just to maybe freak him out a bit more! She was thinking to herself. Shame he didn't choke on that pasty.. She grinned to herself as she walked away.

Rosemary studied Matt curiously but decided to leave him be, it was clear he was nervous around girls so she left him alone until he talked to her.

Lexi gave as shrug. Yeah it was REAL nice up until the end... then it was the worst experience of her life. How's that for life? Can't have anything really good without something swooping in and mucking it up. Salander and she were... something, even. His evil family not wanting then to be together or whatever that was...

"A horse?! That's awesome! What's it look like? What's it's name?" Lexi asked perking up JUST A BIT. She loved animals after all. Maybe she would ever attend CoMC this term... considering that evil Mexicana was no longer teaching.

Lexi gave a shrug and a soft smile. "That's what I'm here for kid. Making others feel better when I can," she said with a humorless chuckle. Really... her life was a mess... she had to do something... she couldn't fix her own so why not other people's? "You'd find someone else to help you through if I wasn't around. Everyone loves you..." she said with a smile, while she really felt a pang of hurt and jealousy.

"Just focus on your studies, your extracurriculars and you will be fine, " she promised the little girl with a smile.

'Hey, Rosemary!' Rose said.

Matt sat, wide-eyed, another frenzied blush beginning to appear on his pale cheeks. He recognised the girl from earlier, when he'd been speaking to another first year boy she'd popped up. And now here she was again.

...This tallied up to three girls. THREE GIRLS.
AHHHHH.

The young Gryffindor bit his lip, trying to take his eyes off that waggling wave (which, by the way, he had to literally hold his mouth shut with his hand in an attempt to bite back a whimper) as he reached for his drink.

But he missed, and the butterbeer spilled everywhere.
Right onto his lap.

Matt just stared.

Rosemary smiled at Rose, "Back again?!" She asked as she grabbed seconds of fish.

'Hey, are you OK?' Rose asked him quietly. She didn't want to freak him out... He was obviously shy!

'Yep!' Rose said as she was looking for something vegetarian... 'I wonder if they have quorn...' Rose wondered aloud

Ella stood down the table, with her hands on her hips. She grinned, being friendly and put her thumbs up. Smoooth! She mouthed over at him, she knew he would understand.

He was still staring at her.. maybe she should be a bit nicer.. Nah.. she thought. Not yet... Eventually she would but he had annoyed her.. quite a bit actually. Bring it onnnnnn! She peeked at him and smiled to herself.

then she couldn't hold it in any longer; she burst out laughing.. a lot.

Rosemary smiled back, "I think they've got some vegetarian options..." She answered before whispering to Rose, "I think he has a problem being around girls...."

'Well, that would make sense, seeing as he won't talk to anyone!' Rose smiled

Rosemary nodded, quite concerned for him. "He may turned around.... I mean once he gets us to girls around maybe he'll open up?" She wondered out loud as she tucked into her fish quite quickly.

Were cats allowed to wander around? Zara didn't know either. "Oh, hi there Henry." Zara was talking to the cat. People might think she's crazy, she didn't care otherwise. She loved animals. Then Zara looked up at Ella, "Can I pet him?"

'Well, I hope so, because he'll need to make friends here!' Rose said

Rosemary merely nodded as she finished her mouthful of fish. "It always takes tie... Time and Patience..." She stated before creasing her forehead. "Maybe I should have been in Ravenclaw?"

'Why?' Rose asked curiously.

'Of course you can! He only bites me..' She laughed at the expression on her friends face. 'I think my Mam'll be sending me and my brothers an owl to share, so we can send her and Dad letters..' Ella told her. She looked up at the ceiling. It was 'maaazing! Hopefully an owl would come flying to her tomorrow, with a letter from home for all six of them.

Reaching out, she grabbed another bowl and piled it with pasta. She was suddenly hungry again.. she just had to make sure she didn't eat quite this much at every meal...

Rosemary chuckled, "All the odd things I've been saying... Almost sound like my mum who was a Ravenclaw..... She talks a lot like Luna Lovegood apparently did."

'Heehee!' Rose giggled. She had heard all about Luna Lovegood's weird and wonderful ways! 'When do you think we can go to our common rooms!' Rose moaned 'I'm so tired!'

"Of course they're still grumpy, and they probably don't think like I do, but the put up with me more than they would others and I kinda like them..." Elaine understood that not all goblins were the same.
"Yeah, me and Alec got one from an older cousin, I can't really remember what we did," she paused thinking over the memory. "I remember it was really funny though!" Elaine laughed.

"Yeah that'd be good," she glanced up at the staff table. "So who's our Head of House?"

"Okay. He bites you?!" Zara was shocked and her jaw dropped. Slowly and carefully, she advanced her hand toward the cat who was looking at her. "Good Henry. Just let me pat your head. Good boy." Zara told Henry. Once she had her hand on his head, she stroked his fur slowly and caressed it. "That's it! Atta boy!" Zara loudly praised Henry.

"Oh an owl? My pet's an owl. Maybe you could use her first while waiting for the letter from your mum and dad. That is, if you want to." Zara smiled as Ella hungrily started getting pasta. Surely, she was hungry again. This made Zara want to eat again. She stopped petting Henry and helped herself to some red and yellow colored ice cream, and a sandwich. Wow. Five minutes ago, she could've sworn she was so full and couldn't eat anymore. But, probably waiting to get to sleep put her hunger back to live.

Ella looked at Henry. 'He won't bite you, he likes you.' She grinned, still eating her pasta. Nommm.
'No, I mean my Mam is sending the owl first for us, she isn't here.' She grinned. She had seen Zaras owl on the train, she was a pretty owl.

Wiping her mouth she continued with her pasta.. Now she felt she could eat and eat.. and maybe eat some more?
