At the top of the steep steps, high in Ravenclaw Tower your dormitory awaits you. The circular room is lined with beds and trunks, a few owls flutter about the space and several cats chase dustballs on the wooden floor. Books and homework cast throughout the room show just how studious the members of Ravenclaw are. Pull back the sheets and close the curtains because another day of learning lies ahead!

Remember, no boys allowed!

She was distracted when a girl she didn't know plopped down on a bed near hers. She glanced at her, trying not to make it obvious, but she couldn't recognize her. She was too old to be a first year... "Hey." She said to the girl. "I'm Ellie. I don't think we've met before." She said skeptically with a friendly smile.

Vadoma's smile suddenly vanished, hogwash? This is what her ancestors relied on for centuries. This was what she was studying for. Her aunt was a hundred and five and divination was her entire life. "Oh..." Vadoma said, "Well, it's rather important to me. My village relies on divination for so much." Vadoma looked down at her tarot cards, she was quite sad now so she decided to put her cards down before bad energies were transfered to them.

Salina quite nearly danced into the dorms and plopped herself onto a bed, then, facing the person on the bed opposite, said "Hi, I'm Salina. Salina Malfoy."

"Vadoma..." Salina tried, the name sounding weird on her tongue. "You do Divination." she said, eying the crystal ball.

"You can call me Ina, if you want... Do you play Wizards' Chess?" she asked, putting down her book, Wizards' Chess for Dimwits.

Emily suddenly felt awkward around this girl, "Sorry I didn't mean to offend you, its just... well its a fickle magic. And to be quite honest, I've rarely met someone thats managed to pull it off sucessfully. Seems to be a lot of guess work for the most part." There was an awkward silence before Emily continued... "I just feel that other forms of magic such as charms and transfiguration are stronger forms of magic in that people cannot bluff their way through performing a spell whereas anyone can guess the future.... I hope you undertsand where I'm coming from... really didn't mean to offend."
Emily sat on her bed cross legged and contemplated going for a walk to get some fresh air... perhaps down by the lake.

Helen sat down on her bed, she wondered what the day would be like tommorow. While going into the covers, she couldnt sleep and also she was waiting up for Katelynn as she said that she would meet Helen later.

Katelynn walked into her dormitory, and looked around. The first thing she noticed was her trunk; she walked to her bed and sat down. "Well it's not really guesswork if you are good at it, but here is the thing: The future is not set in stone, divination just tells you the future as it stands at this very moment but it all changes depending on what you choose to do." Vadoma said, there it was the cheesy 'life is all about choices' speech she used to get in muggle school.

" Ok I'm up! " Helen said, bringing her head up and trying not to bounce with her now moving bed thanks to Katelynn. Helen knew Katelynn was right, these are going to be the best years of her life!

Luna entered the Girls Dormitory. She sat on her bed and looked at her plain bedside table. She hadn't had time to customize it yet. She looked under her bed for her trunk. She pulled it out and opened it. She took out a picture of her and a few other Ravenclaw girls in the Girls Dormitory from last term and placed it on the bedside table. She took out a bag of Chocolate Frogs she had saved from the train journey. She took out one. She looked at the bed beside hers. She tried to remember who was there.
Of course! It was Vashti! Vashti was in the picture aswell.

Vashti went until to her dorm, ready to just lay on her bed and relax for a few hours. Merlin knew she needed a bit of relaxation. But when she reached the room, she found she wasn't alone. Luna was also there, lying on her own bed.

Managing a smile as she walked over to her bed, she said, "Hey Luna." She plopped down on her bed when she reached it and faced her roommate.

Sarassi looked around the room for a friend but her blue eyes caught nothing, not even her twin sister was her. She craked her neck as it was getting stiff which flipped her brown hair to the side...She took the pony tail off her wrist and wrapped it into a ponytail...She was shy and she didnt want to disturb the other girls so she walked around the room looking for the bed that belonged to her....She knew she was taller than the other first years, she was five feet and three inches tall! Pretty tall for a first year

Jenny rushed through the door as she coughed constantly and covered her mouth, not looking where she was going. Gosh, why did people have to enjoy burning things in the common room? Barely anybody could breathe in there with all that smoke!

Much to her surprise, Jenny didn't bump into anyone as she finally reached her bed. Gasping one of the posts tightly, she tried catching her breath as she stood on the floor. Her breaths were coming in so loudly; hopefully she didn't bother her classmates nor her sleeping owl. Slowly, she straightened herself up and sat on her bed.

Rowan wandered into the room, tired yet too excited to sleep. It was so wonderful to be back! She wandered over to the bed that was hers last year and stretched out just as her cat Panda came bounding into the room. "Well, hello there trouble. Where have you been?" she said to the cat as she scratched her soft black ears. Glancing around the room, Rowan didn't see anyone she recognized so she decided to pull out her sketch pad and started working on that portrait for Rex.

Slowly Sofia moved in the dormitory; she hoped she had chosen the right one, if she walked into the boy’s door it would be highly embarrassing. Hearing girls’ voices she felt relief wash over her and she entered the room.
There weren’t many beds left but she saw one with her trunk at the bottom of it. Crossing the room she dived straight into her trunk and pulled out her pyjamas. As she did so a small piece of parchment fluttered to the floor. Before she thought anyone saw she picked it up and read:
”Dearest Sofia,
Your father and I have hidden little notes and sweets in your luggage. Sorry we couldn’t see you off but we wanted to tell you that we love you lots and we want you to write every week.
I heard that you are in Ravenclaw. Oh well done honey! Your Grampie will be proud but your Auntie will be disappointed. As you know she wanted you to be a Hufflepuff like her.
Sleep well and we will see you at the end of term.
Love you lots
Mum and Dad
xxx”
Sofia pulled on her pyjamas quickly and jumped into bed clutching her letter from her parents close to her chest. Within moments she was asleep so she didn’t notice the note falling from her hand and fluttering to the floor.

Charisa slowly looked up from the book she was reading as she sat upright in her bed, wondering what in Merlin's name Mr. Newt Scamander was thinking when he wrote a particularly boring passage on bundimuns. Her wandering eyes rested on one of the windows in the dormitory, and she watched a few clouds pass across the sky as she flip, flip, flipped past the bundimun section.

There was a slight pause in which Charisa turned back to her book, smiling contently when she noticed she was staring at the centaur section, and adjusting her sitting position on the bed to get more comfortable.

Then, her head snapped up again in time to watch a girl run into the dormitory, coughing and gasping, much to Charisa's surprise. Putting her book face down so she wouldn't lose the page she was on, she looked over at the girl. "You need a glass of water." It wasn't a question. She gestured over to the pitcher of water on the table by her bed. If the girl wanted any, Charisa wouldn't mind being of assistance.
