Fee painted the rune Jera on her tent.
Jera stood for succes and a good year.
And Fee hoped this year to a good, succesful year. It was her first year away from home, her first year on her own, the first year of growing up and she wanted to proof that she could do well.

"Eventually is right" She laughed with the girl. She never thought school could be this fun.

"Well, he is older than us so maybe if we help out with his painting abilities he can help us with our homework," she giggled. Rowan playfully reached over and gave Rex a tickle.

Anna debated this. It was a good theory. She laughed when Rowan tickled Rex. "I think its a good theory. Very good."

"Of course, unlike you two, I am not a Griffendor. Maybe I should ask Victoria for help instead. I don't want someone sabotaging my house points," Rowan said jokingly. She knew her friends wouldn't do that, but it was fun to tease.

"You know that might be a good idea! We Gryfindors are like that you know." he joked smiling. "Looknig forward to any other classes? I myself want to go to Potions."

"Transfiguration, Potions, and Astronomy I think. I'm already loving this class and hating History of Magic. Maybe we'll be in a lot of classes together. Us firsties need to stick together." Rowan grinned and then helped Rex some more with his painting.

"I agree History of Magic isnt really that fun. I just cant wait for any class really. So far they have been amazing. I do hope we have classes together. Homework seems a bit challenging. Maybe we will have to work together." She said.

"I'm afraid the analogy doesn't go that far," Di grinned. "Runes connect to the maker. That means there is nothing to mimic, simply because the runes have a connection to the maker."

"It is, however, possible to figure out a trap based on runic knowledge, if a person knows how the mind of the rune-caster that has set it up works - nothing a rune-caster can do about that. Personal runes can project more accurate results for the maker, but they can't grow teeth and bite his or her enemies!" Di smiled at the mental image of a two-toothed rune.

Di turned to the other student. "Like I explained to Mr. Dakest earlier, runes interact with and contribute to each other," she said cheerfully. "The placement and combination of runes is an enormous topic but to put it simply, their forces can be combined. In the Runic tradition, there are specific things that must be kept in mind when doing so and the arrangement itself is what determines if the runes strengthen, complement or weaken each other."

"So to answer your question, yes indeed. The combination does effect the runes."

Di nodded. "Indeed," she said. "Creating runes oneself means one pours intent, strength and energy into them."



Right. Time to move on. Di pointed her wand at her throat to magnify the amplitude of her voice. "Time to use the runes to protect your tent is up, class. Homework..." She tapped the chalkboard that had previously announced the final scores of the Runes House Challenge. "Is now on the board. You may copy it down."

Di stepped away from the chalkboard. "Since this lesson has officially ended, you may return to your common rooms." Yes, straight to your common rooms, kids. Because Di had Prefects to ensure that each student headed straight for his or her common room, and stayed out of trouble. "Alternatively, you may camp out here." Di was going to, at any rate. The day next being a Saturday and all.

"But before you decide if you wish to head back, please write your name and house on a piece of parchment and stick it to your tent if you want it graded." Sticking charms, such nifty things. "If there are two or more people to a tent, names and houses of all the people, please."

She paused. "Thank you for making this lesson... fun."

Um. Yes.

Fee took out a parchement and wrote her name and house on it.
She was definitely camping here.

Rowan removed a small piece of parchment from her bag. She wrote:

She stuck the parchment to the front of her tent with a bit of difficulty. "That ought to do," she said out loud to herself. She collected her things. "Good night Professor. Thanks for a wonderful session," she grinned, then immediately made her way to the Common Room. Her house could not afford to loose more points.

Anna copied the homework down and went back into her tent to work on it.

Di gave the girl a small but warm smile.

"Good night, Miss Firestorm."

Enya lifted her head from looking at Louisa. There conversation could wait she supposed, but she really didn't want to have a teary one. They were annoying! Sigh. But now she guessed she should write down the homework which had magically appeared in front of them all. Sigh. So much homework so little time. Grabbing her bag from just inside the tent she rummaged around inside it for her homework planner and pen.

A few minutes later after jotting it down in her book she shoved her planner back into her bad, rummaging around for a piece of parchment - which she found at the bottom of her bag. She quickly wrote the following words;

She then stuck it on her - well her's and Louisa's tent. Sighing she stood up throwing her bag over her shoulder. Now time for bed, a nice warm bed she had at the castle. Without a word she turned towards the castle to leave.

Mmmhhmm. Melted chocolate sounded like a good idea, right now. Di had just decided to get herself another marshmallow to roast, when she spotted a certain Ravenclaw.

"Miss Mayberry?"

Freya pulled out a piece of parchment from her bag and wrote down her name and house in it.

She then stick it in her tent so Professor Markovic could graded her tent. 'Well. professor said that they can camp here tonight. So I'll take that offer.' she thought

She had been expecting to be ignored and let go. She after all had done all she was asked to do. Sigh. But when she heard the Professor call her back her heart sank. She turned back towards the voice and looked at her.

After a few minutes she walked forward slowly, raising her bag onto her shoulder again. The grass flattened around her shoes as she walked, but she ignored all that. She stopped a few pace's from the Professor.

"Professor?" She said.

Di stood, silent, as the Eagle returned. "Since you behaved for the rest of the lesson, five points back to Ravenclaw," Di said quietly, when the child had finally come to a halt. "I hope you do not still feel that runes and tents have nothing to do with each other." Pause. "I thought I should ask... is everything alright, Miss Mayberry?"

She hadn't been expecting points back! She had been expecting a detention or something like that. Just like she always had. Apon hearing the words from the Professor's mouth she stared at her not believing her ears. Was she really geting points beck for her house!? After everything she had done so far. Enya shook her head slightly to be rid of the thoughts and looked back at the Professor before her.

"Thank...You" She stummered still shocked. But she was brought back to earth with the next words from the women's mouth. She swollowed.

"I am" She lied.

Branwen pulled out her wand and stuck her name to her tent. She smiled and walked over to the fire. Now that her work is done she can have some fun. She began toasting a marshmallow for the smore that she has been thinking about all night.

Though the 'I am' did not satisfy her, Di nodded.

"Right then, Miss Mayberry," she said. "You can get back to your common room now and..." She paused, thinking of the Ravenclaw common room. Di had occupied it herself, once. "My office is always open, if you need to discuss anything."

Enya looked down at her feet while she listened to the Professor speak to her, and was very glad she didn't press her. The worse thing she thought - worse then having pumpkin all down her best clothes - was people asking what she was thinking. Just like Louisa did somethings, though she was just used to ignore the girl when she asked. Sigh. But once the Professor finished talking she nodded her head and with one last peek at the women before her she turned and began to make her way towards the castle, but not before she said quitely, "Thank...you Professor...and....byee"

She didn't look at the Professor again as she walked away, thinking that her bed in the dormintry upstaires seemed more nicer then before.

Iris listened to the Professor as she spoke up and gave them the homework. Well, she'd already done half of it. Maybe she could camp out and do the homework here... Teehee.

Deciding that she was going to camp out, Iris was quite glad that she had those Animagus books in her school bag. Keep her occupied, you know? Iris jotted down the homework and then lit her campfire the Muggle way.

She climbed into her tent, grabbed one of the pillows that she'd conjoured up, and her books. Then she went back outside and sat by her little campfire, hoping that the runes she'd painted on there were going to work for her.

"You're right my tent wouldn't look awesome," Daisy said laughing. "Well i'm pretty sure you would've done just fine painting your out tent but having us help you made it more fun." She looked at the professor and forwned. Class was over. She grabbed her stuff and packed up to leave.

Glancing away from her handy work, she listened to the professor dismiss the class. Of course she wasn't going to leave, she was gonna stay out all night. She had to label her tent first? Slipping into the tent, she retrieved a piece of parchment and quill, scribbling her name on the paper. After using a sticking charm to attach the paper to her tent, she scribbled down the homework in her notebook along with the runes she used.

Work was done, now it was time for play. Pushing the sleeves to Sabel's sweater back, she skipped over to her friend's tent. Camping out was much more fun with friends. "Camping out, Sabel?" Her eyes glided over his tent before settling on the new professor he had been conversing with, giving her a big smile. "Awesome lesson professor." How could it not be. They were camping by the lake.
