Wiggling her fingers over the basket that held the chocolate, Destiny had just spotted the one she was going to shove in her mouth first when.. Evelyn had SNATCHED the basket from her. Took it right from her! "Heeeeey!" she whined, watching her friend offer it to whoever wanted it. "I want it!" Well, she did offer right?

Wahhhhh!!

Evelyn was so mean! Taking away the chocolate. Well, two could play at that game. Reaching over a little, Destiny snatched the basket of Elder Futhark runes that were sitting closer to Evelyn. Poking her tongue out at her friend, she started to rummage through the basket, "I think we should use this one!" she held up the Naudiz rune, "It means need, and I do need that CHOCOLATE!"

"Or we could use the Algiz rune. Because there is a good chance that this tent will fall down."

Pffft.

Chuckling though when she spotted Destiny taking her basket of runes, since she didn't really care (they were in the same tent), Evelyn glanced around and frowned when nobody wanted the chocolate. Seriously? That was really weird. Maybe she'll save it and give it to Josh later....NO! Not Josh. She was trying to get him OFF chocolate like she was trying with Destiny. Jeez these two.

Hmm, maybe she'll give them to Patroclus later. Snatching her basket back, she placed the chocolate inside and rummaged through the runes. "I think Algiz is good. What are we going to do with these anyways? Just, stick them on the tent with a sticking charm? Or, paint them on?" Or use sticks and draw them in the ground! She hadn't drawn something in quite sometime. "And I think we should use Uruz too. Because, well, it totally describes us."

Bahahaha! Not only was she not answering Destiny about the chocolate, Uruz totally did describe them. Two was stronger than one and they were totally powerful. Or, she liked to think so at least.

Not only was Destiny chocolate-less she was rune-less, too. Evelyn just liked to snatch things off of her, and she was sure if her hair wasn't so attached to her head, her friend would snatch that as well. Crossing her arms over her chest, she didn't bother to answer Evelyn when she agreed to the Algiz rune. It was her idea and all..plus, she was being mopey.

That was until she was asked what they were going to do with the runes. Glancing over at the basket of chocolate, an IDEA had hit her! "We can melt the chocolate, and draw on the tent with it!" She'd at least be able to smell the stuff, since she couldn't eat it. "And maybe we can use Pertho, because I like the way it sounds."

Pertho, pertho, pertho.

waiting for the other to move away while poking a stick in the fire he look to the professor "do we give the runes power.. if I were to just take a hand full of them, and toss them around the place would it have the same effect as if I belived and placed then with thought and care.it is like the logo i was telling you about" pointing to the Nike swoop on his shoe " in the muggle world people belive that if they buy the sports equipment that has this on it they will play bettter. or be able to run further.I use too also ,I allway felt I was slower if I was in anouther brand's shoe, so I feel that we give the runes power by how much or little we belive in them.I will understand if I am wrong it is just untill I walked in to your class I didnt know much about them.

Emmy looked down at the list in her hand - there were so many runes to choose from - and so many meanings! She walked over to her gorgeous golden tent, and decided that her first rune would be Ingwaz, for peace, love and harmony. "Not too many arguments, hopefully!" she murmured to herself. She cast "Pingo blue!" and drew Ingwaz over the doorflap of her tent.
Glancing back down at her list, she decided that the next rune would be Eihwaz - for protection and defence. This she drew on the ground outside her tent - several times, in a ring surrounding it.
"Lovely," she said, gazing at her handiwork, "but it needs something else..." she mused, reading carefully through all the meanings.
Eventually, she settled on Fehu - nourishment and abundance - as the rune she was missing. For this, she went inside the tent, and drew it on the floor inside the door - being careful not to disturb any of her other runes.

Alice wandered back to her tent and thought of the appropriate runes for it. It had to do something with power and magic. She wondered what Firstie would like on it. "How about Man, right in front of our door... you know so the tent will be protected." Alice said pointing her wand at the mat in front of the tent entrance and marking it with the Man rune. That was a good rune.

Sophrina nodded her head in agreement. That was a good one and in the right place. She thought of what rune she'd like and after a few seconds she said, "The Sun rune, right here..." she said, drawing the rune on their makeshift window. "It's for protection as well, guidance, light and hope. Plus, the sun will be shining right through that window...well when it's day." she giggled and smiled.

Alice glanced down at Firstie and smiled, what a child haha. Alice really needed some hope in her life so the rune Sophrina had chosen was perfect. "Good one, Firstie." Alice grinned. It was crazy how they actually got along so well when their ages were far apart.

Walking over to the front of the tent, Alice pointed her wand at it again and inscribed the Uruz rune on the center top. Their tent needed something that made it seem strong...powerfull. Alice likes power. So the Uruz rune was perfect. "I like Uruz, it represents strength and power." she playfully smirked. Yeah, that's what the tent need. "Well, that's it for me. Got any more, Firstie?" she asked.

Branwen sat on the ground outside of her tent, She reached into her bag and pulled out a small wooden box. Inside if the box were a lot of medium sized beads with runes pained on them. Her grandmother had given them to her before she left for Hogwart's. She began sifting her fingers through the beads with her eyes closed focusing her attention on herself and the things she needed to make her better.. When her fingers started tingling she would stop sifting and pull out the bead. After she found three she pulled out a small piece of paper and recorded what runes they had on them. She then put them to the side and began to slowly braid her hair. When she had three sections of hair braided she string the beads in her hair.

Di... eyed Miss Flores-Shepard. Free chocolate? Did this girl not like chocolate? Popcorn for this one, next time. In fact...

"Do you want some popcorn, Miss Flores-Shepard?"

Di turned to the student. "The best runes are personalized. Runes that you make yourself. This aim of this lesson is to show how the Elder Futhark can serve us in our routine lives, but I will go into a few details for you. Runes should be invoked. It is not only the creation of a rune that matters - there is the ritual that pours magical element and intent into the rune. Simply put, if you paint a rune on a stone right now and toss it at me, most likely it will have no effect. Invoking a rune means you personalize it and the results it gives are clearer, more accurate and more powerful."

"Well, you know a bit more about them, now! Questions are good stuff. Perplexity and confusion are only the beginning of wisdom." She smiled at the boy.

Looking around at the rest of the class, she saw that most of them were hard at work - and one or two had runes on their skin!
Finishing off her s'more, she thought, Well, why not - it can't do any harm, surely? But what to use...? Not Pingo, I know that much!
Then, she had a daft idea - she could melt the chocolate! But that would be a little wasteful, wouldn't it...? Eventually, she reasoned the professor must have given them the baskets of chocolates for a reason - so go for it! Just don't use too much...

She melted the chocolate over the fire, and daubed Wunjo - happiness - on her right cheek, and, reading her list again, smeared Ingwaz on her left cheek - this time, concentrating on it's 'love' meaning. Satisfied, she grabbed a marshmallow, and began to toast it.

Sophie thought about it for a minute. She liked almost all of the runes, but if she drew them all over the tent it'll look like if a six year old came and drew on it. But, she really liked one more that their tent just had to have no matter what. "We just have to add Ingwaz." Soe gushed as she went over to the other window and drew the Ingwaz rune on it. "It means peace, love, harmony, agreement and unity." that was probably her favorite of the bunch so she drew a little heart next to it. "I'm good, now." she said, stepping back to admire her first tent with runes all over it.

Ehh, was this some kind of trick for Destiny to eat the chocolate?

Then again, the plastic blanket thing they used for the tent looked rather dirty. No way her Slytherin friend would eat the chocolate off of that. "I guess so..." she muttered, taking the chocolate out of the basket and...cautiously handing it to Destiny. Was this a smart move? Probably not, but Evelyn just want to burn something really so she was agreeing with the idea.

"Alright then. Pertho, Algiz, Uruz, and Thurisaz. I think that's enough." Yea, she was throwing Thurisaz in there just because it was an awesome rune to begin with. Hehe. Taking out that specific rune anyways, the Slytherin moved over and placed a sticking charm on it before sticking it to the front of the tent.

....

......and it didn't fall over! WOOOOT!

For a moment, Evelyn thought that the Professor was talking to BOTH her and Destiny but, she was staring at HER. Oops, right. The last name thing.

"I don't like popcorn. Thank you for the offer though." she replied in a rather sweet tone with a smile to match before shrugging her shoulders and looking at their quite ugly awesome tent. She was a picky eater. It wasn't her fault though! Regardless of the kind tone, she was rather disgusted. Who ate popcorn? Regular corn was fine, but popcorn? It was gag worthy. Definitely.

After she was finished with her hair Branwen returned her hand to the box of runes and began picking which she would paint on her tent. When she pulled her hand out she again had three runes Branwen began painting large circles on the outside of her tent. After she had 3 circles she began painting the runes that she drew from the box in the circles. She was very careful to make sure that the tent looked perfect.

Rex painted the TeiWaz on his tent. Since he is known as " The Knight of Gryffindor of "The Royal Family plus the leader of "The Fab Three', he thought this Rune fit him perfectly. " Bravery and protection of all. Courage and f or The Royal Family' and Genius for being heaad of The "Fab Three" plus being in two distinct groups. "Anyone want to discuss the Runes with me by my tent?" Rex asked anyone.

Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe.

Evelyn agreed to melting the chocolate and painting it to their tent. Pratically snatching the chocolate from Evelyn, she cradled it in her hands before speaking. "Sorry little chocolate. I don't want to burn you, but she," she nodded her head in Evelyn's direction, "is making me. Sorry." Now that her apology was complete, they had to melt it. Well, she hadn't thought this thing through, for she had no idea how she was supposed to melt the chocolate. "Umm.." she drawled, looking around for something to put the chocolate in.

"I guess if I leave it in my hands long enough, it'll melt, right?" Right, because they were already melting and she had to resist the urge of just devouring them. Maybe she'd be able to lick the paintbrush when they were done.

While she waited for the chocolate to melt, she watched as Evelyn stuck the rune to their tent. "So, ugh. Why did you steal my last name?"

She just wanted to know!

Alice laughed. Firstie was all about feelings and stuff, eh? Well at least she was positive, so that was good. She eyed their tent and smiled. Now that she thougth about it, if she connected each rune it would make a sort of diamond shape. The Man rune was on the floor mat, the Sun rune was on one of the windows diagonal to the floor mat, Uruz was on the center top which was aligned with Man and finally Ingwaz was on the window opposite to Sun. This was awesome, Alice wished she could take a picture of it.

Eesh. Almost jumping back in surprise when Destiny SNATCHED the chocolate away like those homeless witches and wizards did with half eaten apples and knuts that sometimes people gave them, the Slytherin took a step back and resumed with her...decorating.

If one rune being placed on the tent could be called decorating.

Now to just figure out a way to get the chocolate melted enough to paint it onto the tent. PFFT! There was no way she was letting it melt all over Destiny's hands. She'd most likely eat it all before they got it onto the tent. Yes, it was a bad idea to give her the chocolate. "Fine. But only for a moment. Then use it to draw the runes onto the blanket plastic thing..." she muttered, sitting down and taking the runes they needed out for reference. "Those are the runes."

However, at the mention of the last name ordeal thing, she was hoping to Merlin that the waning sunlight would hide the oh so noticeable blush on her face. Well, this conversation would have came up sooner or later. Hopefully...a tiny bit later... "I don't know what you're talking about."

Deny! DENY IT ALL!

Kurumi looked at the list and decided to use three runes and paint them around the entrance to her suspended tent in a triangle formation. Since her tent was already pretty colorful, she decided that Pingo WHITE would be the best option. At the top she chose to write Wunjo (representing joy, happiness and good results) at the top, Dagaz (representing day, a new dawn, light, protection and guidance) to the left and Algiz (representing growth, rebirth and good chances). She stepped back to admire her work and decided to leave the other sides for Cam and Adam to choose runes to their liking.

Oooh. They got to decorate there tents. That was pretty epic, although Finn really wanted to paint a marshmellow onto the tent, because they were yummy. He thought all lessons should have marshmellows in. Maybe he would suggest that.
With a grin he looked at the sheet, to decide what he needed to put on the tent, that he wasn't too sure would actually stay up. He wasn't too good at building stuff. That's why he decided to paint Uruz on the side of his tent, because at least then hopefully the tent wouldn't completly colapse, even though that would be pretty funny to watch.

Nooww. he needed another one. hehe. He decided to paint Algiz onto the tent, so that lots of pretty flowers could grow. Oh dearie me. He needed more marshmellows.

Cassandra listened to what the teacher had to say, personalize it huh? She looked over to her tent and the rocks with the runes that she had painstakingly carved onto the rocks that formed a fence around the tent. So she turned to the teacher and asked "Professor, how can we personalize a rune? Is adding glitters to it ok or something?"

Lucy walked up to the two girls whom she saw taking "Hi! i'm Lucy" she said "will join you guys in decorating the tent she said and raised her hand forward "Here are some more chocolates, if you would like to use some more" she said smiling to see their reactions "Is there any thing i can do?" she asked before sitting next to Evelyn "I'm good in decorating" she said

Looking at her list, Iris wandered over to her own tent, the one she'd made before helping out the first years. She sat down and pulled her own rune set out of her school bag, and put some silver paint and a brush down on the floor next to them.

So... What runes would she need for the outside of the tent, near the entrance? Eying her sparkly, emerald green tent, Iris tapped her painbrush on her knee.

The runes that represented protection in some way were Dagaz, Teiwaz, Man, Sun and Eihwaz. So she painted them, large, onto the canvas; so that there was an arch of silver runes around the entrance of the tent.

Looking at the gaps inbetween the Protection runes, Iris examined her list again, to see what runes would be appropriate to paint there. The prefect dipped the brush in the silver paint and then went on to paint Raido at the very top of the arch. It was a tent after all, and Muggles use tents when they're travelling in the country sides and mountains and things... so it seemed apropriate to her.

She then grabbed some parchment, and copied down the Rune names and meanings of the ones she'd used.



Now.... Where else can she paint runes? Standing up, Iris wandered around her tent, thinking.

Rowan took out her paints again and headed for her tent, wishing that she knew more about runes. "Let's see," she said to herself. "What do I want to use?" Looking over the list the Professor had given her, she decided on painting Algiz at the very top of her tent. Well, nearest the top that she could reach. She thought that this was an appropriate rune because it represented opportunities, success, rapid advancement, protection and sanctuary. Being a first year she felt that opportunity, success and rapid advancement were particularly important for her. A little protection and sanctuary never hurt anyone either.

Daisy looked at her dinky little tent and held back a laugh. She had picked the rune Ingwaz for it seemed to describe her way of thinking best. She wanted all thoes things in her life, not just for her but for her friend and enimies as well. Peace, love, harmony, agreement and unity. Walking into the tent she now had to think of a place to draw it.
