A great number of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves fill the library, creating rows and aisles of books available for students to read and check out. When returning books to the higher shelves, just hold up the tome and the shelves will take care of the rest; there's a spell on the shelves which summons the returned book to the correct place. Of course, when retrieving a book, they don't 'know' what you're looking for, so those who aren't yet accomplished in the use of the Summoning Charm may use one of the sliding ladders that move around from bookcase to bookcase.
In front of each set of shelves is a small desk. Students can sit at these desks to complete homework or copy down notes and book references. Be aware that other students may need to access books above you… so mind your head.
You can find any book here that's appropriate for all school years, so browse to your heart's content.

Jeremy simply resumed standing still as he felt Kimber's soothing touch on his back before finally turning around fully to face her. "Yeah." And he was. He had always been. He had been so excited about the whole thing, until...she had ruined it all. "It's just...I don't know what to do." He admitted, absentmindedly rubbing the back of his neck while regarding Kimber as if she were to come up with an answer.
Did he want to leave? His eyes fell on the book surrounding them and he was just about to say no when he spotted a student not far away, apparently studying. Maybe they SHOULD leave after all. Jeremy swiftly walked past Kimber to take a particularly old textbook out of the opposite shelf and holding it up he asked, "May I take this along?" As silly as it might have looked and sounded, he needed it. |

She reached down and took Jeremy's free hand, smiling when he asked to bring along the book. Why deny him this comfort? "Of course you may," she answered, leading him past the dusty shelves.

maisie walked into the library (for the first time) and looked up at the shelves, "whoah. intimidating." she muttered as she started to look for 'the clique series', a muggle series for girls, as she realized, they only have have wizard books here, "oohh..she whispered..they dont have it.." she quickly picked up a random book, and sat down in the chair and skimmed it, having no idea what they were talking about, she pretended to be finished with it, shut the book, streched big and yawned, and then got up to get another book
