" I think you need to leave Daisy alone" Rex told Carson. "You try anything to break us up and you will regret it" Rex said to Carson. " Daisy told you she does not ever want to see you again and I would heed her advice if you know what is good for you " Rex explained to Carson.
Daisy. I think we should dance now" Rex smiled at her. " This is happening to me again" Rex sighed. 'So know I know what has been troubling you forever" Rex told Daisy. " Just for the record, i can't take this again" Rex said to Daisy. "Why me?" Rex asked himself our loud.

Daisy hugged Rex and said, "It won't happen again. Carson can't steal my heart. He left and he ignored me. You've always been there for me. Never doubt how much I care about you Rex." She didn't know what to do to prove to him she wasn't going anywhere. "I swear to you I feel nothing for Carson. I didn't even expect him to some back, ever. Nothing will change between us. I'm nothing like Kay." As she hugged him she hoped she was at least getting her point across somehow.

"Mmm... till someone goes insane," she joked again. Selena twirled a bit, and they were dancing slow to a fast song. Her Aunty had always told her that was fun, but she hadn't realized that till now. Then again, people weren't Diggy. "I love you," she said quietly, a bit out of the blue but still.

Rhea was sure that the charm from her was her outfit was still working because she felt her little yellow dress tickle her legs as it gently ruffled around her. She giggled. But then her complete attention was diverted to her boyfriend when he pulled away and started posing like a maniac. She burst into a fit of mirthful laughter. Jack was so silly. She shook her head slightly as her giggling fit died away." you're so silly darling".

Rhea let out an excitable little squeal as he surprised her with a twirl, which she responded gracefully to. She mentally thanked her mom for throwing all those party. They made her quite a graceful dancer plus she was killer on the piano. Did she ever mention that to Jack though?" see I'm not only beautiful, I'm smart too." she returned his wink and smiled. She laughed again at Jack's next comment." well I didn't know this costume gave you powers above your normal wizarding ones!" she said playing along with him. She then blushed when he said he liked her costume." thank you. Its so me isn't it? I like yours too."

Jeremy had decided Kimber needed saving after all, despite what Hecate had said. The latter was over by the Food Table anyhow, taking care of a food fight which had occured there (or still was? Hopefully not.), so she should be safe. Besides, Fletcher looked to be a good dancer anyhow so there, it couldn't be that bad. Which was why he was now saving Kimber...yes, didn't make sense but whatever.

He happened to overhear Fletcher's last sentence as he made his way over to the pair. "Without a costume, Fletcher?" Jeremy asked trying to hide the amused grin which was trying to flash across his lips as he finally reached them. It HAD been a good idea to save her after all. "Do you mind if I borrow-" His hazel eyes flickered back and forth between the two a couple of times before he finished his sentence. "-your queen for a while?" Though, borrow usually meant he was going to give her back...which probably wasn't going to happen. Heh.

Gah! The boy Fletcher just winked at her. Merlin that got under her skin these days!

She tried to wipe the dirty look off her face and push the discomfort away, when Fletcher went ahead and spoke again, making matters worse. "Right," she said; her tone flat.

She continued to follow his lead across the floor but her dancing turned methodical. Why did someone always have to ruin a pleasant moment?

Just then, Kimber felt someone walk up behind her.

Without giving Fletcher time to object, she took a step back and dipped her head formally.

"Thank you for the dance, Fletcher. It was lovely," she said, taking Jeremy's hand to be led away. FAR away, she hoped. *sigh*

Slipping one of his hands loose from her, he took hold of the side of the mask, brushing his hair back away from it, and gave it a gentle tug. The spell he'd used on it had been carefully reworked, so that it would stick on his face without coming loose, but would let go if he tried to take it off.

It felt a bit odd, coming off. From having it on for more than a little while, the skin beneath it suddenly felt a little cold and exposed.

Her confusion coaxed a grin to his face.

"See? Confusing costume concept. It might be easier to let people brainstorm their own ideas and then suggest them." That way, they could think he was whatever they wanted him to be, and he could just agree with them and not have to explain.

Easier on everyone, really.

"You do." The young man looked down and then immediately back up. "I wouldn't be able to convince you to put something on over that though, would I."

"I swear, Raiden, next time there is a costume ball - come see me, okay? I'll dress you." Because he so CLEARLY failed at doing it himself. Neptune BEAMED like a beacon of light though when he finally showed his face.

Giggle. "Hi. 'Bout time." Neptune creeeeeped a hand up from his shoulder and petted his cheek. "I think you're not getting enough of air under there," Mother Bott informed him. "You don't need a costume, anyway. This ball is for you, you being a big shot Hogwarts Champion and all."


Oh. Well. Whew. Neptune had worked hard on appearing nothing BUT fine. And Kellen had certainly helped her make it legit. She peered around discretely for him. "What? No. Never! You are SOOOOOOO costume confused, Raiden Smith! I'm a MERmaid! This is how they dress!"

He so got a snuggle. Giggle. Gigglysnuggles.

Raiden had almost forgotten how amusing Neptune Bott could be. She was so... Neptune. Demanding things and telling him what to do... he'd let it slip his mind, how even though she sometimes embarrassed him, she was still worth being around.

"What would you have had me as, then?" Another pirate to complement her? Or would he have been something completely unrelated, so people wouldn't assume he was her date? With her, who even knew.

He tilted his head toward her pet pet petting his cheek.

"I thought I was doing a rather good job at breathing," he murmured cheekily. Though her next comment drew the most imperceptible of winces from him, and when he spoke again, there was only a ghost of forced playfullness. "It's a costume ball. Of course I needed a costume of some sort, Champion or not."

Costume confused, was he? Her indignance at his suggestion made the young man grin, though really. Really, Neptune Bott. One didn't always have to protest and refuse.

"You're a worrisome mermaid. Surely the younger ones are meant to wear a bit more?" One could argue, based off this costume, that mermaids had no sense of modesty. By extension, the same could be argued of Neptune, though that fact hardly needed arguing. "It's... worrisome."

At the very least, it was far too small.

"If you won't, I'm going to put the mask back on now." Who knew how much of a threat that actually was, right now, but it was something.

Ugh. There she went again. Finlay really did think she was over reacting, she always did, and he only put up with it because he had to. Anyone else and he would probably walk away. For your information my dearest best friend, I like muggle movies since I was seven years old when a friend of mine dragged me to the theater" he said pulling Freya closer to him and put his hand on her waist. "Well i i hope he leaves her alone.Would like to dance i'm been waiting all niight to talk to you about the two girls.I told the professor C about what i told you.

Freya just rolled her eyes. "Seven years old?and you didn't tell me anything?Auch I'm hurt, Humphery." she said while making a hurt face. "By the way, who was your friend?Did I know her?" she asked. She didn't really sure Elliot's friend was a girl but she just had a hunch that it was a girl. "What was it like?" she leaned closer to Elliot and put her arms around his neck. "The theater I mean" she added quickly. "Of course I can dance you dolt" she said. "What you think I'm doing right now?"

Elliot laughed when he saw Freya face. "Well. I dunno what you would said so I decided not to mention it. Sorry" he smiled apologetically. "How did you know that it was a girl? Did someone tell you about it?" How did she knew that it was a girl? Geez. This girl had a very good instinct. "For your question, nope you didn't know her. She was a.." he paused for a moment before adding "..muggle" he sighed. He smirked when Freya leaned closer to him and put her arms around his neck. "It was nice. I'll take you there if you like." he smiled. "Geez. Chill, Salvatore. I'm just joking."

I am sorry, I did not mean to mention kay, I just got a wave of bad feelings " Rex explained to Daisy. Rex hugged and kissed Daisy on the cheek. " No one is going to take you away from me because of our strong commiment to our love" Rex smiled.

" Well, I can handle Carson" Rex told Joey. "Sure, I will dance with my cousin" Rex said to Joey. "Ok. tell me what you said to the professor" Rex smiled.

Rubiey felt like a right plum. The brunette stood in the doorway, looking out at the biiiiiig dancefloor, and felt slightly sick.

Dancing. Yuk.

She looked around, trying to catch a glimpse of Alice or Fee, but it was fancy dress. How was she supposed to find them?!

Taking a deep breath, the little Gryffindor took a hesitant step forward against her will. Whyyyyyyyy was she here?!

Neptune was well chuffed that Raiden kept LOOKING though. If she had HIS attention... then, well, didn't it stand to reason that others - others in particular - would look too? She didn't bother hiding at ALL how pleased she was with him. GIGGLE.

Emma saw Carson walk away from Rex and Daisy.. Oohh.. Drama.. as usual.. She pulled out her camera and snapped a photo of the two of them dancing. * Cuuutee! * She grinned and the photo and moved on to the next couple and then she came back to them. "Hey Rex, Daisy! Sometimes, he wondered. He really wondered. Did Neptune think about these things before she said them?

"Why would I want to be a knight if Duncan's a king?" His costume didn't have to be in any way connected to Fletcher's, and he was just fine with it being the way it was. "And I don't know that they'd let me wander around the ball with a sword, Neptune. Sounds a bit dodgy, to be honest."

One eyebrow raised, expression sceptical, Raiden brushed a long bit of hair back behind his ear and touched the mask back to his face. It immediately began to cling to his skin again, as it had been previously, and he gently nudged it back into what felt like the proper place before putting his hand back where it had rested on Neptune.

"I think a knight is rather not... me." He shook his head. "Do you have any other suggestions?"

They were definitely not getting the professor to transfigure his clothing. That just wasn't going to happen. He was rather comfortable right now, in what he had on. Neptune might not have been fond of it, but it was rather nice to not be looked at.

"I didn't say you were a kid. Sixteen's still young though." Even if it was nearly seventeen, which was nearly eighteen, which was what he'd gotten to. "Doesn't mean that everyone in the world needs to be looking at you."

The idea squicked him. He didn't like it. Because in his mind, Neptune was forever going to be that very young girl who had claimed him as her 'boyfriend' that day in Diagon Alley, five minutes after having met him.

"You are specail," Daisy said to Rex." She smiled and laid her head on his shoulder, "It's okay I understand. Just remember, I chose you." She didn't want Carson anyway. He was....strange. "Yeah well, I waited to long for the chance to date you. I'm not going to throw it all away on Carson." Speaking of him. Where was he?

Daisy smiled at Emma and then said, "So you saw the drama mama?" She was referring to Carson.

Oooookay weirdo... that was exactly what she had just said... that they would talk about it later so why was he giving her that LOOK and being all snippy?! Boys...

Lexi smiled at him and nodded her head. Part of her was sovery happy that they had been together for 6 months... but another part of her wondered if they would make it another 6 since he didn't seem to understand her. Sigh. He really just didn't GET her most of the time.

Keeley... was late. And dateless. But that wasn't unusual. The rather awkward Ravenclaw girl weaved her way through the crowded dance floor, marveling at all of the awesome costumes. Of course, the thought to dance crossed her mind once or twice, but just watching from the edge of the floor, where getting hit by a dancer was least likely, was just as nice. Pulling her fuzzy, brown and white eskimo hood over her head, Keeley giggled to herself and watched.

Alright, Legend thought it was pretty obviously now that he had done something wrong. It would be easier to handle though if Katie actually told him what it WAS. Instead she was being silent (for ONCE, and he didn't like it, SHOCKER right?) during the one time that he couldn't leave. And it...just created this awkwardness between them. Yup, like someone had put up a barrier or that time when he had blown up in Diagon Alley.

She was smiling now. Did that mean that she was about to smack him? Legend was so unsure. Girls obviously were from a different planet and Katie was from like...the moon. "That's because Emmy is a mom." Hmm....yeah...you really wouldn't want to go to your parents about crushes right? That would be just weird. So Emmy was crossed off..."What's so bad about Reggie? She's cool!" And funny! And lived in America where they had met the popcorn man! "Vannah. SAVANNAH? If I were a girl, and Vannah was my sister, she'd be the first one I'd go to about crushes." No questions asked at all. Vannah acted like a mom, but in a discrete way so it wasn't awkward.

The Gryffindor shivered. "WOAH...alright then no Madi. I wouldn't ask Miguel for girl advice even if I had to choose between him and Sparrow." Yeah....he'd still take the 6 year old giving him advice. That was just a scary thought though...asking Miguel for advice. Staring at Katie as they moved to to the soft music that he was barely paining attention to, he felt the need to say something buutt...yeah he couldn't hold it in, he was Legend he could only be polite for so long. "I think you did mean to. I mean...you came to me first right?" Wasn't it obvious that he would figure out that she had a crush? "I will and I'll do it with a smile!" He said his grin getting bigger. "They SO would help! We'd go, find the guy and tell the him that you like him and that he better like you back!" Yeah! That was an epic plot. He liked that idea a lot. And Katie would be happy and stop acting all weird right?

Alright so it wasn't her whole 'don't wanna be a teenager thing' but she had still completely side stepped the most important question. "Who is the boy?" He repeated. They couldn't go and find him and tell him set them up if the Badger didn't tell them who he was.

"Not everyone. Just... a few... people... Most people. Why isn't it okay for people to look? Is this you being motherly? Or ... jealous?" Neptune SNUGGLED him again. Raiden was good people. Most of the time.

Behind the mask, one of Raiden's eyebrows went up again. Yes, Duncan's costume was great. How wonderfully lovely for Duncan.

"I wasn't exactly inclined to put much effort into this entire thing." Seeing as he hadn't even wanted to come. He resisted the urge to say something along the lines of 'just be glad that I'm even here', knowing that she'd just end up getting upset at him about it. "A mask is a costume though. Being unknown is just as good a costume as anything else."

He really didn't want to be a seahorse, thank you. He liked the simplicity of how he was dressed; it didn't make him feel ridiculous. Were he dressed as a giant seahorse... well. He really wouldn't want to be here then, and was a hundred times more likely to leave.

No. No seahorse.

"It just isn't." How could he go about explaining that he didn't like the idea of it? It wasn't like she was his girlfriend, or anything more than a simple friend. Really, he wasn't sure he had the right to an opinion about it. But it made his stomach churn a bit. "This is me being ridiculous, I guess, but it just feels funny."
