"Hey Oliver, hows it going?" he asked. Brant was totally fine with Miranda and Oliver being friends. Actually He thought it was kinda cute.

"Wheres your date?" Brant asked him for he heard rumors of him taking a gryffindor.

"Hello Kevin, How are you doing this term?" he asked Kevin that just arrived in the receiving line.

Kevin smiled at Brant and said "Things are going alright this term Brant pretty stressful with all this studying for my owls and girl trouble"

Aw, haha, how pretty Kaika waaas! She watched her fiddle with her dress, much like she herself had been doing moments ago. This reunion was the BEST, they shouldn't be any missing of people, it was always so sad. "I'm so happy for you!" Hop hop hop. Wow, she actually hopped in her high heels. Dang! "I'll be sure to catch a match or five when school's over! I soooo want to see you kicking butt out there." But, she always had, though now it was probably even more awesomer. Hehe, Captain. "Oh, Quidditch is going great! Badgers on Brooms, it's completely fantastic. Haha." Hehehe. Though, deep down, she had been calming down on that aspect for some time now. Quidditch was ranking as high as being an Auror.

"Oooh, yes, for sure!" Yes yes, she should go get a great seat. The date comment made her blush a little, but chuckled. No commeeent! Hehe. "Yeees, I'll catch you later, Kaika!"With another quick hug, she grinned and now couldn't wait to get off this line!

Her smiled slowly faded and turned into a lip pursing and dull look at her Head of House at his...sarcasticness. "Yeah, I heard heels make you say 'ouch' if you accidentally step on people's feet." Hehe. Ofcourse...this was her HoH, she didn't DARE even poke the man. She kind of figured hurting the Groundskeeper one time was enough.

Aw. "Cheer up, sir!" She gave him a punch on the shoulder, the sort of way bro's did...or she figured. And it wasn't on the shoulder, because Masterson was a giant, so she kind of hit his arm. Aaaaaaaaaaand, it wasn't a strong punch. She hoped. "We can't have a Head of House that mopes around." Ofcourse they could if Masterson was being his usual stubborn self. Remember drinking the potions last term, anyone? But he accepted the chocolate which was good. He would feel better with that. "There will probably be lots of fun stuff to do here. Did you help with the decorations by the way?" Because the little glimpses of the outside place thingy looked amazing.

Wobble. She sort of clinged onto Brant's hand for a moment. These heels...guh. But...they did kind of look awesome. Hehe.

Looking up, she noticed the Ravenclaw Captain and smiled at her. Errr, had she seen the unstableness? But she leaned towards the girl, her eyes already rolling. "Merlin tell me why they invented these things." she looked down at her shoes. "Why can't you wear Quidditch boots or something?" Hehehe! And what was she wearing? "Oooh...you're a smart girl. They look awesome by the way." Nod. Wants. Maybe Miranda should go and change shoes. HeHE!


Aw, she appreciated him helping her out like that. But, she was seriously contemplating in removing her shoes and tossing them in the pond. Hehe. A spell? She turned her head to look at him. Blink. Really? My gosh he did that for her? "Hell yeah I want to try it." She burst out laughing. "Thanks Brant." She smiled at him.

How did he know she was looking for chocolate? Well, duh, she had practically been this close to putting up an announcement on the board. Hehe. My gosh. "Y-you did?" More blinking. And then she grinned. "Aw, my chocolate baker." She snorted and rested her head on his shoulder.

"I think the line is getting thinnerrrrrr." Oooh. "We'll go have a seat soon, yeah?" Yaaaaaay.

Nod, smile, nod nod.

Cameron. Hmmm. Gosh, so many kids went to this school it was hard to keep up who was who. "Oh, that's nice." Miranda smiled, feeling slightly amused that she was a Gryffindor. Hehe. A dance? "Haha, yeah, sure. A dance would be nice." But... "Just giving you a heads up...these babies are sharp." And she was talking about the heels, looking down at them but turning her gaze to Oliver again and winked.

Hah! No way out now, Ollie! Mwahahahahaaaaa!

Bella looked left and right from where she stood talking to friends, she didn't really know anyone else there, well she knew them by face but not by name. As she looked one person caught her eye, could it be Brant, the boy she had had a conversation with in Diagon Ally AGES ago? It could It could.

From where she stood she called over to him nervously, "Haii Brant"

No...not funny. So not funny. Except it just totally was. Snort. Trying unsuccessfully to hide her amusement when she followed Oliver's gaze into the direction Princess!Torin had just disappeared off to Nancy could suppress a few giggles. "But...but, we mustn't." Though, right now what they mustn't and didn't do didn't seem to be the same thing. "Poor Torin." She managed to say between a fit of giggles.

Taking a deep breath to calm down - which didn't work out too well - Nancy inclined her head at Oliver. "You should ask him to dance with you." Or not. Because that would probably not end too well. For both of them. And she wasn't too keen on another Oliver/Torin fight.

As the fellow Prefect tugged a strand of red hair behind her ear Nancy couldn't help but admire how exceptionally beautiful it looked today. How exceptionally beautiful Gold looked in general. Weren't they just one pretty Receiving Line? "Aww, thank you, Gold. You look really pretty too." As always. She didn't add that though because...just because. Mainly because Gold probably knew that anyhow.

"So who's your date for tonight?" Nancy asked with a small grin, before directing another smile at some random people walking by. She had been so caught up with...stuff lately that she didn't even know who was seeing whom anymore. Shame on her.

Oh...Brant. Of course he would be Miranda's date. Yeehaw! Or something. "Hey Brant." Nancy greeted the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain with a small polite smile. After a quick glance at Oliver, a small smirk started tugging at the corner of her lips. Oh, somebody was just thrilled to see Brant. Not.

And then all of a sudden there was..."Kevin!" She grinned broadly at the fellow Slytherin as he addressed all of them. "I'm fine." Apart from the whole grinning and waving at random strangers. But you know, good impression and all that crap. "How've you been?" She hadn't seen him in ages. The Prefect wondered how his little trip - to China was it? - had been.

"Well good luck with your O.W.L's Kevin, Mine were really hard. Very time consuming" he said while laughing.

Brant couldn't help but laugh when Miranda said that she would try his spell. Brant pointed his wand to her shoes and mummbled his spell. "There you go "Bel" that should make you walk all normal like and you won't even wobble" he told her while not holding her arm any more just holding her hand.

"I'd do any thing for you Miranda" he said while winking at her again.

"Yes I would love to sit down, can't wait to eat. and its awesome that we get to sit together since we are captains" he said while nudging her.

"Oh hey Nancy, how are you doing.. I haven't spoken to you in a while" he said to the Slytherin Prefect.

"Oh, is that Bella. Hey Bella. How are you enjoying the Ball so far?" he said to the young Ravenclaw!

Kevin smiled and said "Well thanks Brant hope you do well in your qudditch captancy this term Brant" Kevin smiled at his prefect and said "I am okay thanks Nancy just totally stressing over my OWLs"

Bella smiled towards Brant, it was nice he still remembered her. They hadn't spoken in AGES.

"Haii, It's pretty good thanks, making lots of new friends" She gashed to him, looking at all the people around her whom she was speaking to.

"You?" She asked hoping to start a conversation.

"Everything is going well Bella, Our match is coming up soon. Me against my Girlfriend Miranda." he said while holding up Miranda's hand to show Bella.

"Thank you Kevin, Your slytherin team had won their match you should be very happy."

Brant couldn't wait to eat, He knows that he couldn't help but think about it, but this Quidditch Captain was hungry!!!!.

"Oh i bet that's going to be a good match!" She joked, she could wait to watch, she hadn't been to a Quidditch game in a while.

"Good Luck!" She added smiling. Bella nodded towards Miranda.

Mina shrugged a shoulder and smiled. "You know it wouldn't be the first time a Slytherin hated me, so I should be fine," she laughed softly. "And don't mention it, friends help there other friends out." She was sure if she ever needed help, Evan would do the same for her.

Finally, she looked at the Great Hall and was in awe. Everyone had really done a great job with the decorating. She was feeling a bit proud of how great the decoration committee had really done, herself included. Standing beside Evan, she looked back to the professors and smiled. "Yes, thank you for holding this ball," she said. Really everything was more than she expected and there was so much to look at.

Noticing the Head Girl, she gave Cela a wave and one to Nia as well.

Kevin smiled and said "Thanks Brant i am happy that we won even though i didnt play the second half of the match i was injured and couldnt play"

Sarah caught the Headmaster looking at them all, as she busied herself smiling at the queue of people. She was actually starting to get into this, DID INDEED feel like Royalty. In fact she was on the verge of doing the Royal Wave, but the sight of the Headmaster stopped her. Meh.

"Not a problem, sir. It's actually kind of fun." Sarah returned his grin, and gave him a nod, before turning her attentions back to the row of people lining up before them. She leave soon, though. There didn't appear to be many more people left to come in. Maybe.

Ohhh, but here was one she recognised....


"Trixie, hello!" She grinned at the Slytherin, and gave her a welcoming pat on the arm. Oh a compliment, how nice. "Why thank you. You're looking lovely too. I hope you enjoy yourself in there." She was planning to. No boyfriend, but that didn't have to mean no fun.

No? NO? MEH. She'd believe her eventually. Maybe a few years down the line Miranda would become a girly girl. Sarah would get her in more dresses, she would. "Trust me...it does suit you. Especially with what you've done to your hair, I like that." But then Miranda was naturally beautiful anyway, shame she couldn't see it. "Hmm, yeah. Badgertastic," Sarah giggled at that word. Where had she first heard it...probably said it herself at some point. "I'm not a fan of pale colours, though, or I would have totally gone with it. I might talk to Tammy about that, actually," she mused on Miranda's comment about fashion. It was something she was certainly considering.

Giggle. "Nooo, hopefully the fights will be few and far between." Merlin forbid anyone started duelling or something. That WOULD be bad. And as a Prefect she'd have to help stop it. "I think it's more the shoes that'll slow me down," she laughed, leaning into her friend.

Own little world. For a few seconds as she inspected the shoe, that's where Sarah was. Everything around was blocked out, as she picked at the remaining label residue with her fingernail. "Huh?" She looked up as she heard a close voice. "Ohhh, Nancy! Yes, yes I'm fine thanks. Forgot to get all the label off the bottom," she grinned, continuing to pick as she glanced around her. Difficult to stand in 3 inch heels on one foot.

Awww, Nancy wasn't enjoying it. Sarah had to admit she wasn't at first, but now she was warming to the occassion. "Ohh it's not too bad. At least it's just standing, saying hello and grinning," she shrugged, smoothing out her ruffled dress and smiling at another passer by. "Mmhmm I know what you mean. I spent ages in Gladrags, then ended up getting it from a muggle place. I might try and add something to one next time, though. I really wanted a corsage type thing on the shoulder, but..." She trailed off, and brushed at the strap covering her left shoulder, sighing as she pictured the matching coloured ruffle it COULD have had.... If she had made it.

"Don't get the opportunity to wear ones like it much," Sarah laughed, shifting her foot in it, and making sure her balance was right before letting go of Nancy. "Sorry about using you as a resting post." Giggle.

Was that a genuine smile from Oliver, rather than a smirk? Heh, made a nice change. She returned it with one of her own, before adjusting a piece of hair that had dropped down. Hooking up with the clip, Sarah huffed. Not being able to see what you were doing was a distinct disadvantage.

Hehe, Torin in a dress was funny, but Sarah also felt sympathy for her fellow Huffie. "That's true. But he did look awfully mad. I'm going to see if I can find him when we're done here." Chew bottom lip. She didn't like her friends being mad.

Ryder. Hmmm. "Urrr, he never asked me. He's probably down in the common room revising still, I doubt he'll be here, unless he's bringing someone else," she giggled. Oh. Maybe he was? Maybe...NO. Ryder loved her. He was just busy. "I think Lori said I could be her un-official date. Adam may or may not be coming. I don't think he's a fan of suits. You'll save a dance for me, though, eh? Torin taught me in that lesson we had." And she was looking forward to trying it out. SURPRISE.

Nia gave a chuckle as the Huffie Captain leant in towards her. "Haven't the foggiest!" she said, looking more closely at Miranda's choice of footwear. Whoa! No wonder she was having problems. "I'm guessing yours are more a case of look beautiful and match your outfit wonderfully... but make moving, standing and balancing hard?" She gave a slight grimace. Nia hated having sore feet. And blisters too.

"Hmm, Quidditch boots...that's an idea." She grinned. "We should totally set the new trend of smart footwear. Even if it could only be rocked by female Quidditch captains." How Nia loved her boots. Her whole kit really. She just felt at home and comfy in it.

She followed the Hufflepuff's gaze to Nia's own footwear. They were currently peeping out from under her dress. The soft silver shoes, and their comfy low heel, were definitely paying off. And they did kind of match, for times when they did peep out of the full length skirt.

"Thanks," she said, smiling as she wiggled her toes around a bit. "They were the only realistic choice, if I wanted to make it down the stairs from the tower," she explained with a chuckle. "Plus, I might actually wear these ones again."

Ellie nodded and smiled and continued on into the Great Hall.

In fact, thought Nia, it was rather a shame he'd not got anyone with him. Because a dashing young like Raiden probably should. If only for the one night. Though, currently she was in the same position, right? Ho hum.

"Well I'm rather tall so I think you're doing well if you're not taller than I am," he said with a grin. "If you're towering over people then so are quite a few others."

He looked down at his own feet, since hers weren't really visible. Surely wearing those shoes and then putting on sneakers... that had to be weird. Their feet were all bent up and stuff... heh and then the height difference... surely that had to be even worse. Some girls wore shoes that made them a lot taller. He'd been so disoriented when he'd gotten de-aged last term, because the difference in vantage points. Sure, it wasn't as extreme, but it was all he had to compare it to.

"Hah. You're funny." He half-grinned. A trail of girls following him from his dorm? He would have gone insane. It was bad enough when he knew like, one girl liked him. If there was more than one, he'd feel bad and weird. "The only girl that would do that isn't here anymore. She didn't come back this term."

Neptune would have been so excited about this ball. Like really ecstatic. It would have been cute.

Maura looped her arm through Bella's. "So, shall we go into the ball itself and try to find some dances?" she said. "We don't seem to be having much luck here. Although you do seem to have met many new people!" she laughed. "But most people are inside. Want to check it out?"

Arm wrapped rather tightly around Ethan's, green dress just lightly swishing across the floor, Anastasia Bunbury entered THE Alumni Ball and slowly scanned the swarm of people with her ice blue eyes.

Ah, Hogwarts. It had been what, a year since she had reigned here? Hmm.

Annie might have given Ethan's arm a squeeze as she spotted some *shudder* students standing in the receiving line. "Who are the prefects this year, by the way, Zan?"

Quite sure that nobody would be bothered by his lack of desire to be involved in receiving anyone, especially considering he was no longer Head of House anyway, Ethan had gone to meet Annie. Nothing less than escorting her properly would do.

"Celandine Toussaint, Miles Vorkosigan, Sarah Griffin, Torin Kane, Gold Laksh, Chris Potter, Raiden Kururugi and Nancy Hudonson." He answered. Always good with names and remembering things, he was.

"Mhmm...." Annie responded with something of a murmur. She had missed that Torin Kane, oddly enough. And Celandine would be graduating this term, would she not? Merlin, Bunz remembered way back when the girl had been a Pink Lady!

How time flies. "And are they doing a... decent job? No more were-worries?" The second question was more of a whisper.

"They are. They all are." His... err... the Slytherin prefects especially. "And... yes. None. Shall we say hello?" They were right there after all.

Ethan was more focused on how nice Annie looked though. Really. Distracted.

"Certainly."

Annie mustered up her best faux-friendly smile and gave the prefects a generous wave with one carefully manicured hand.

"Hello."

There, that was done. Now to move on. She fidgeted slightly with her handbag and gave Ethan a look, like he was supposed to lead the way.

Well. Obviously Annie wanted to go talk to them properly. Truebridge was clearly getting good at reading her looks. Clearly.

He lead her over to the receiving line and nodded at the prefects and Quidditch Captains, quite content to let Anastasia do the talking.

Because obviously she missed them all so much.
