Oh no. Melissa stopped laughing and looked in shock at Torin. He was now mad. Maybe she shouldn't of laughed at him and she felt very bad. She watched him storm off to wherever he went. Erm...tension! EEK.

Tearing his eyes away, he focused on a younger girl. Oooh.. he recognised her from class. Ravenclaw, wasn't she?
“Hello Isabella.” He said pleasantly with a smile oblivious to her blushing. “I'm Oliver. The Slytherin Captain.” He introduced himself. “Looking forward to the ball?”
Emma went down the line and saw her Quidditch Captain. "Hello! Oliver is it? I'm Emma. How are you?" she asked, she smiled. She had never talked to him before.
Walk through the line with Rex, Kay looked at everyone. "Wow. Everyone looks great." She said smiling at the professor and the other students. "Hello Headmaster. Hope your having a great time." She said as she put her hand out. Looking ove to her head of house, She smniled. "Good evening Mr. Masterson. How are you enjoying the dance."
Wanting to say hello to everyone, she waited for Rex to walk with her.
Miranda smiled, nodded and akwardly waved at people who passed the line. Gosh, there were ALOT of students that went to this school. Hehe. And where was Brant. Hmmm. She kept looking around and towards the entrance to see if she could see him. But, he would probably be here soon.

Oh no... what did they do? She watched as he got upset and Miranda was totally surprised and not knowing what to do. And then he stormed off... "Torin!" she called after him, hoping he would stay. Hm, maybe she should go after him and see how he was...
But Masterson was talking!

Hehe. See, he was not a-smirkin' anymore, was he. No it's not a question.

Compliments. What do we do with them? "Um..." Blush, ofcourse. "T-thankyou, sir." She smiled shyly and looked down as the dress fidgeting began again. "Oh, yes, I guess. It has been...interesting..." she glanced towards where Torin had stormed off. "Just been 'hying' and nodding and waving at people. It's been...fun." CALM.
So... "How is Jadyn? Is she coming aswell?" Aw, in a leetle baby dress! TEHEEEEEEEEEE!

A voice made her flinch. Geez, who sneaks up like that!?
Oliver. Ofcourse. "Hi there, Oliver." She smiled, casting a glance towards the entrance again. Hm... wonder if they have chocolate cake.
ZOMG. They better have.
Fun? "Yeah... as Sarah put it, so far soo good. Hehe." And it was TRUE! "Looks like people are having fun anyways." And hopefully there would be chocolate cake, then she could have fun too. HEHE.

"TAMZIN WOOD! Get me out of this thing before you regret it!!!" Was he yelling? Maybe just a little bit. But he was so mad, that his eye might have been twitching a little.
"I do not care if you're my best friend and unofficial date, I'm still going to hex you for this." How could she do this to him?
He ripped the thing off of him and threw it to the ground before storming off. Whatever. There were other people that could deal with the reception line at least while he calmed down.
Whooooopsie.
Tammy giggled to herself, and went to reach forward to get the dress off, but instead whacked Torin on the arm. "You would NOT hex me, and do NOT call me Tamzin. What are you, a doofus, ey? Now shut up and let me get the dress off." Spoil sport. Torin was such a spoil sport, really he was. And Tammy was NOT happy with Princess.
-- Even more not happy because he ripped the dress.
She pouted, and looked at the piece of fabric on the floor, before bending down to pick up up, and then sighed. "Silly Tammy. Silly silly Tammy." The brunette chewed at her lip, and then looked over her shoulder to see the retreating figure of her [maybe ex-]best friend. Oh maaaan.
"Toriiiiiiiin?" Poopsickles.
She giggled again though, at the mental picture of Torin in a dress, for that split second when he was actually smiling at something she had previously said, and then looked around her. "Dress was courtesy of Tammy Wood Designs, as are my shoes. Speak to Princess Kane or Brody Summers for cheaper prices." That was her shameless advertising finished.
And with that she gave Prefect Sarah a smile, and then hurried into the crowds, namely for somewhere to sit.
Melissa put a smile on her face as she went through the Entrance Hall. She kept it the whole time she walked. She wasn't the girl who went crazy over these things well she did like them but she didn't go mad and rush to the nearest dress shop as soon as she heard about this. Nope.
She walked and still managed to keep her smile when she looked at the receiving line. Well she did had to smile, no one was going to damper her mood. They could but she was going to have fun. She hoped...
"Hello," she spoke to them all in the receiving line.

Gold waved to the girl who had just greeted them. "Hey," she said, cheerfully. "Looking forward to lots of fun?"
Gold certainly was.
Half turning round when she caught sight of a familiar shade of hair, Gold beamed at Torin. Wasn't he cute? It was sort of funny to see all the guys dressed up. "Mr. T," she greeted, with a little nod of her red head and a cheerful smile. She had lots of those in stock, today.
Everyone was going to get one!

Hehe.
"You too, Gold... Your dress is really bright." Heh. And there he stood in all black, a stark contrast.
Aww. Gold liked it when people returned compliments. It was a sign that they were willing to be polite. Not that she could ever doubt that of Raiden. If there had ever been a gentleman, it was Raiden. AND he was patient. Eternally so. Though Gold had a feeling his patience had been around less often than usual, this year.
"Thanks," she beamed. "Took me a long while to choose it. Lots of options." But Gold was pretty sure she would have looked good in any of them. It was just that she wanted to look even better than usual, tonight. You know? She was happy. Cheerful dress, cheerful Gold, cheerful everything.
Oh, and Mr. T was leaving. DRAMA! Gold was still happy, though. She waved to Nancy and lankeh Oliver, as the former stepped in and the latter skidded to a not-so-neat halt nearby.

Constantine smiled and shook his head as she started to fidget the dress again. "Stop playing with it. It looks fine as it is. And Jadyn is fine, but she won't be coming tonight. She's spending the night with her mommy." It was for the best.
He then saw Oliver. Heh. "That your date," he asked, nodding his head towards the boy.

"Good evening, Mr. Trigwell," he added, shaking the boy's hand. Hmmm.

Gold certainly was.
Melissa waved and smiled back removing her eyes from wherever Torin went. Sigh. She still felt pretty bad. But she would just cover it, she could do that. "Hey," she managed to say in equal cheerful amount. "Yeah of course," if she saw Torin again that would be fun. Sadly not. So she might as well introduce herself to the older girl, of course she would. It would be rude not to! "I'm Melissa Bellator, Hufflepuff," that sounded a bit formal but this was kind of a formal ball anyway. She sort of knew the girl too. She was a Gryffindor prefect...right?

Looking back at Jason and Victoria, Kay thought the outfits were nice. "They look great." She said looking at her cousin. "You guys do look amazing." Still looking around the room. She watch Oliver and Miranda. Would have to say hello to him. Turning back to Rex she smiled and went back to talking with the people in the line.

Oh, there was tension in the air because Mr. T had left. Gold would have to hunt out her guy bestie, later on. She knew he could get snappish like that, sometimes. Usually though, he was quick to forget his anger. Bubbles would probably know how to cheer Mr. T up again.
"Nice to meet you, Melissa." She gave the girl a happy smile, cheeks dimpling. Tonight was meant to be a fun night. Gold wasn't going to let anything ruin her mood, this night. "I'm Gold." Most people already knew that, though. "Gryffindor." She totally had the whole Gryffindor effect going on for her. Even though it wasn't intentional at all. She looked down at her dress, and resisted the urge to swish it. Hehe.

Oh, and there was Bella. Gold remembered the girl from a potions lesson, last year. Potions. Last year. That made her think of Professor Kazimeriz, and thinking of Professor Kazimeriz made her want to bite on her lower lip. Gold shook the thought off, to smile at Bella.
Constantine smiled and shook his head as she started to fidget the dress again. "Stop playing with it. It looks fine as it is. And Jadyn is fine, but she won't be coming tonight. She's spending the night with her mommy." It was for the best.

Um...who's playing with the dress? Pffffttt...eh.
Miranda balled her hands into fists to keep her from a.) fiddling with her dress, and b.) chew on her thumb nail. She nodded at Masterson, bumping her fists together for lack of anything else to do. "Aw... that's nice." Jadyn was fine. That's good. "How's her Quidditch going?" Grin. Hehe. "Has she learned to say more Quidditch stuff?" Has she? Ey??
Date!? Miranda whirrled around, almost broke her ankle in her heels and had to flail to grab hold of poor Mastersons arm. And maybe his tie. Heh.
Getting control of herself, she pursed her lips and frowned. Brant wasn't there. Who had Masterson meant? "Oh, no." She turned back to him looking a bit confused. "No." Like whaaat.
"Do you have a...date, sir?" she asked curiously and then facepalmed herself, remembering Masterson had said Jadyn was with her mommy.

Everyone looked awesome, tonight.
Bella turned around to look at Gold, she remember her. From last year. Potions. The class with the most problems. She smiled "Gold!" She cried giving her a hug.
She jumped back, "sorry!" she said looking down at her shoes.
At the memtion of her dress she looked at it, "Thanks, it used to be my mothers" She was surprised it fitting her, for her mother had been nearly twenty when she wore it, although she had been short, and bella was tall.

Melissa was thinking that she should talk to Torin but she didn't want to do it now. She wasn't prepared and it was rude to leave in the middle of a conversation. She knew that. But she did need to apologise. Plus she had never seen Torin like this before. It scared her slightly, but he would be alright when she talked to him...right? She hoped.
She nodded. "Nice to meet you too Gold," she spoke smiling back after taking in her name, but she had heard of it before of course. She would put the Torin business out of her mind until later. Yep Gryffindor, she was right. Hehe. She chuckled slightly, watching Gold looking down at her dress. Which made her comment on something. "Oh and you look very pretty by the way," of course, there was lots of girls in here which looked very pretty this evening.
Authority figures, huh? "Since when have we been authority figures?" he joked back to her in a whisper. But really he didn't mind being here. It was actually nice getting to talk to people he had to admit. "I embarrass myself on a daily basis." That much was true really.
The boy had a point. "You have a point." Sarah giggled as he did and shrugged. They got to tell people off, that was far as their authority went, but it didn't hurt to imagine. Did it? And as for him embarrassing himself daily... "Yeahhh, that's true."Wink.

Okay, it was going good? Taht was good. Good. "That's good." Heh. Safety in numbers? Heheh. Miranda snorted at that. "Yeah, gosh I'm so glad I found you guys here....before everything starts."

Miranda might have stopped fiddling with her dress, but Sarah was still straightening out the hem for her. She couldn't help it. It was a reflex action when she got nervous -shifty-. "You're welcome. I knew you'd look lovely. Now do you believe me?" I mean, pffftttt, gurl. THE LEGS.
Ohh, hehe. Miranda thought she looked nice. Sweet. "Thank you. I kinda like the colour, too. They had a yellow one, but it was pale, and I didn't like it so much." Noo, she was one for bolder colours. Nicer colours. Deeeep colours... You get the picture.
"Yeah, not alot going on. I think that's why it's going so well." Sarah laughed, and gave her friend a one armed squeeze. She sure was glad to have people she liked surrounding her. Could so easily have had nasty folks as her fellow... people.

Hehehe.
Sarah had been wondering where Oliver had got to. She'd noticed he wasn't in the line when she arrived, and since then she had been keeping a close eye on everyone. You know - just incase anyone turned up that they HAD to meet. But anyway, there he came, sneaking up beside them, looking slightly red from what she assumed was a run from the dungeons.
Quirking an eyebrow at him, she nodded her thanks of his compliment. "Nice of you to say. You look quite handsome yourself." Yes he did. Shame he was going with someone, Sarah totally would have snagged him as a date. A friendship date, obviously.
"I think people in there," Sarah thumbed into the actual Ball area, "are having fun." It was an aside to the comment Miranda made to Oliver. And truthful. 'Cause as much as she didn't REALLY mind standing and saying hello to loads of people, the Ball looked to be more interesting.
.................
Sarah hadn't noticed what was going on beside her with Torin and Tammy. She was far too engrossed in talking to Miranda, and now Oliver. It wasn't until she heard shouting coming from her fellow Prefect, that she looked sideways.
O____o Torin was in a dress. A dress that quickly came off and was torn in the process. Sarah gave Tammy a look of confusion as Torin stalked off, angry at what she'd just done. "Toriiiiinnnnnn wait!" Too late, he was gone. And Tammy was..... advertising? Giggling at the sheer audacity, Sarah nodded at her smile, and waved her off into the distance.
Well, Tammy didn't call him Princess for nothing.
She really should find him later, though. Check he was okay, and calm. Yes.
And just as Cela had thought, Nia had definitely delivered. Cela shot a triumphant look at Vindictus. He should be proud. Team Ravenclaw were awesome on the inside and the outside.
"Thank you." Celandine smiled widely enough that it almost hurt. It was clear she'd been practicing her Vindictus!Smile. She looked at Nia's dress again. "I love the blue and the ruffles!" It was definitely flattering. Celandine tipped her head to one side and gave Raiden a look. One of those lookhowprettyNiais kind of looks. And yes she had a specific one.
"I needed somewhere to keep my wand." Celandine added conspirationally, indicating the clutch.
Nia couldn't help but beam at Cela. At her sparkly outfit that so matched her personality - bright and bubbly and twinky - and at her smile. Could Cela possibly smile any wider? It was a wonderful sight for the guests to see on arrival.
"Thanks," Nia replied with a smile, her hands absentmindedly running over the ruffles and fingering them. She was starting to feel more comfortable in it, seeing others turn up. "I fell in love with it in the shop, and loved it as soon as I put it on." She chuckled. It was one of those kind of cliche moments totally come true. "Perfect colour too," she added with a wink.
"Aha," Nia nodded, with a knowing look at the thinking behind the bag. "I like your thinking."

He sorta half-stared at the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain, which wasn't his fault. He'd not really seen her that much off the Quidditch pitch, and then he'd looked up and there she was, in some blue froofy dress and looking like he'd really never seen her.
"Uh-" Words, kid. Make them. With your vocal cords preferably, so others could hear them too. "Nia, you look beautiful."
That word felt weird. Really sorta kinda weird. But it was the one that fit, sooo.
Nia partially caught Cela's look to Raiden, and turned to say hello when she noticed he seemed to almost be staring at her. She look puzzled, wondering if half her hair had fallen out of place, or if she'd already smudged her make up or something silly. But surely she couldn't have done, since Cela would have quietly said something and helped her fix it. She fiddle with her hands, and wondered if she should say something.
Thankfully, though, he broke the stare and spoke. She blinked, and a warm blush came to her cheeks. The Slythie prefect had just said she looked beautiful. After all her nerves, she now didn't know what to say after a compliment like that. And from someone she didn't know too well. Add to thst the fact she now had a probably obvious warmth in her cheeks... Well, firstly maybe she should have considered wearing foundation as well as just eyeshadow and lippy - and second she needed to stop standing there like a muppet who never received compliments and actually say something.
"Thank-you," she replied, willing the colour away from her cheeks. "You look very handsome yourself. Very swarve." And he did. Especially noticably so. Any girl would be very proud to be on his arm tonight.
Gripping Nancy on the arm, as she went to put her foot back down, Sarah took the chance to have another shifty look at the people around her.... There were the other Prefect's, all doing their thing. Although Raiden did look over at her, prompting a grin and small wave from the Hufflepuff back in his direction.

...situation, already? Raiden was about to return Sarah's wave when Torin was... suddenly in a dress. Then suddenly not in a dress. And then, he was just gone. Stalking off angrily, which... hmmm. Temper. Sure it was embarrassing but it wasn't worth getting really mad over, right?
His attention turned back to Gold, who... apparently had had a lot of options for dresses. Girls had a lot of them then, he guessed? He tugged on his sleeve as he looked down at his own clothes; this had been his only option. He had other clothes, for sure, but for suits and stuff?
"This was all I had to choose from," he said brightly, nodding. "It's the only kinda... actual suit thing I have with me."
He had broken the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain. Raiden was quite sure of this. Her face had gone pink and she was probably really freaked out that he had kinda stared for a couple seconds... but really. REALLY. This was a big change from every other time he'd seen her, he was entitled to space out for a minute while his brain caught up associations. When you went from Quidditch clothing to poofy dresses, there was a vast difference.
"Thanks..." He tugged on his tie and grinned. "I feel kinda odd though."
It was the buttons, he concluded. He wasn't used to his shirt being buttoned all the way up. It felt weird, but... he'd deal with it. Mmhmm.

She wanted to see the finished job her group had done. From what she could see it looked amazing.
Spotting a small crowd under the crest, she made her way over still absently fussing with the dress, though not as much since curiosity had taken hold of her. The little puff greeted all her professors, throwing in a few complements as well before steping over to her classmates as friends. Them she had never seen looking so radiant. Raiden she had seen dressed nice once before and Cela always looked nice, but seeing them dolled up had a smile creeping on her face. "Hey guys, you both look really great." She sent a wave over to Miles and the older Hufflepuff girl before letting her eyes float back to Cela's dress. It was so sparkle and shiny that is almost made her forget she was wearing one of her own. Almost.
"Arya," Tate nodded at the young girl and gave her a smile. "You look very nice this evening. I like the dress very much." She was an adorable kid, that one was.
Celandine blushed a little. "Yes I am waiting for my date." She lowered her voice, "But I have to stand here for a while and greet people as they arrive, so I hope he doesn't arrive too soon." Unless of course, Professor Vindictus and Headmaster Tate didn't mind her sneaking off a bit earlier? Miles had already slipped away, Cela had noticed that.

"Good evening, Headmaster." She resisted the urge to tell Headmaster Tate he looked pretty. Like a kitten. Cute and fuzzeh and warmish, right? Of course, he looked classy too. He usually did. Speaking of classy, where was Professor Truebridge? HEEE was classy as well.
But ah well, she would worry about that later. She had other stuff on her mind, right now. Like not running into certain people, and wondering where two certain Hufflepuffs were. Both of whom would, she knew, look simply stunning. "You look lovely, Cel," she said, beaming at Cela as she made her way over to the group. "You look good too, Rai." Except, he didn't look lovely. Handsome, yes, but not lovely.
She said cheerful hello's to a couple of people, waved to a few others, and stood there, looking happy in general.

Spotting Torin stood by himself, she breathed a sigh of relief. At least her fellow Huffie wasn't occupied at that moment. Walking over to him, she cleared her throat to let him know she was there, before turning her head to whisper. "Why are we doing this bit?"
While awaiting a reply, her eyes darted about between the people assembled and chatting. Everyone looked so nice in their evening dress/suits. Looking down, Sarah raised an eyebrow at her own outfit. Was it good enough? Gladrags had been fairly useless, and she'd had to resort to asking her mum to send her catalogues, so she could order it through them and get it owled over. Sigh.

Shifting her weight from one foot to the other she leaned slightly towards the fellow Prefect. "Is this awkward or is this awkward?" She muttered, still grinning broadly at everybody who walked past. Okay okay, she could do this. She totally could. That is, if these damned shoes would KEEP STILL. Or...y'know, stop making her wobble. Right.
Smoothing down her short black dress, Miranda carefully, but not THAT carefully, walked off towards the recieving line where apparently they should be standing. Seeing Sarah and Torin standing there, Miranda breathed a sigh of relief and hurried over. "Higuyshow'sitgoing,ey?" Nervous much? Gosh. She kept twisting the dress fabric and felt a bit naked. Like...where was the rest of the dress? HER KNEES were getting COLD!
Hehe.
Oh, and there was her Head of House. He looked... different. The groundskeeper was wearing a suit!
Gosh...

“Ladies.” He smiled at the girls as he straightened his jacket. “You all look nice.” And... woah.. Miranda in a dress!
Staaaaaaaaare.
Blink blink.
Ahem.
Now that was a vision he never thought he'd see. Tearing his eyes away from her to look at the people making their way along the line, he raised an eyebrow. “Well this looks like fun.” He mumbled to himself.
He felt strangely like royalty as he stood there waiting to shake hands with people and chat to them or whatever the hell it was he was supposed to be doing.. except he wasn't a white haired shrunken old woman with a fondness for hats and corgis and people called Chaaaarrrrrrrrrrrles.
Hehehe.
Tate grinned as his prefects and captains took their places in the line and acted the polite and mature hosts he knew they were. Okay... deep inside, he knew they were polite and mature, although some of them were struggling with the concept. He grunted to himself when Miles disappeared with that girlfriend of his and Torin stomped off in a huff. That was... not surprising, but still disappointing.
But the rest of them... they looked amazing. Acted amazing. They made him very proud. "Thanks for being here, you lot. You're doing a fantastic job, and you all look great. If you want to stick around a while longer and greet, I would appreciate it, but consider yourselves dismissed once the line thins out."

Maura watched, amused, as Bella started running around, awkwardly talking to a few boys. Maura sighed. It was time to intervene.
"O-kay," she said, striding up to Bella and taking hold of her shoulder. "Slow down there. And hold still." Quickly, she applied the eyeliner to Bella's face, along with a few other items of cosmetics. "There, now you look beautiful."

Lexi half-eyed the dance floor as she made her way into the receiving line area. Apparently, she was meant to be here for a little meet and greet session, which suited her just fine. It was a nice way to catch up with old friends without having to feel so nervous about the whole reunion thing.
...when did she get so nervous, again? Lexi had rarely ever been the nervous type, and she didn't really want to start now. So with that thought in mind, she strolled up the receiving line with a bit more confidence and decided to throw all caution to the wind when it came to meeting and greeting with people.

Arya might have made a face when Cela mentioned her date, but it was hard to tell with the dimple smile she was wearing. This little puff didn't date or do anything that could possibly fall into the category. Though she should have known the Head Girl had a date, even if she had never really seen her with someone which had her curious as to who the guy was. Not that she was asking questions. It seemed that everytime she did, people tended to get a mushy and give her details she wished to never hear.
"I hope you get to go in soon," Her eyes flickered over to the Great Hall. "Its really pretty in there." Arya had totally stolen a few glances when she got done decorating the outside.
Tilting her head to the side she rested her eyes on the Headmaster, sending her smile his way. "Thank you, Headmaster. You look nice as well." It seemed everyone like the dress more than she did. Though she was growing to like it with each complement. "I like your bowtie." Was it silk? It looked like silk. Her mind began to wonder just a tad.

He paused and glanced around, and was about to ask where her little Ravenclaw friend was, when... Oh goodness.
Why were there so many pretty girls at Hogwarts and why had they made such a huge effort to all look so fantastic on the same night and in the same room. Sure, there was a ball, but still. They made it hard to think coherently.
And then Gold, too. With really long hair and a dress you could only miss if you lit the entire room on fire. The long hair was what threw him in that situation, mostly because he was not used to Gold having really, really long hair. Raiden grinned at her though, and definitely used words again. Out loud. Hehe.
"You too, Gold... Your dress is really bright." Heh. And there he stood in all black, a stark contrast.
The Hufflepuff prefects were a bit away from him and Raiden looked at them, too; it must have been a requirement that all the girls look ridiculously beautiful because Sarah looked even prettier than usual, too.
Where was Nancy?
Having her hands behind her back to keep from fussing with her dress, since she had a few ruffles in the back, so she replaced her hands on the bow in front. She had looked back up at her friend to say more when she noticed his staring at the other girls. Glancing at the sudden arrivals her smile grew. Everyone looked so beautiful in their suits and dresses.
Spotting the Griffindor Prefect she waved at the older girl and smiled at her. "Hey Gold, you look great. I love you hair." She'd never really seen the girl so dressed up and with long hair. Beautiful she was indeed. Her eyes wondered over to the girl Raiden was staring at, agreeing with both of thier complements. "You BOTH look great." She said with a small giggle, fiddling with her bow. She stole a glance towards the Great Hall at the sound of music. Her mind mind wondering toward it and her feet ready to follow.

"I totally knew that it would be this dress." Of all her dresses. "Its all slinky and feels great." Cela laughed cheerfully and stroked the material at her hip. "I think for occassions like this, its the dress that chooses you, not the other way around."
Celandine watched the little interaction between Raiden and Nia and smiled softly. Yay for having pretty friends.

Thank you sir." Celandine was puzzling over why Torin had left. He'd kind of outshone everyone in that dress. Cela made a note to talk to Tammy about making her something. She'd totally endorse it.

Giggling a little she would remember to ask. "Well It looks like everyone is having a good time. I think that you will too." Kay said as he took Rex's hand. He looked..well upset. "Are you sure things are ok, Sir?" She asked looking around for what he would be upset about.
" Yes, Jason and Victoria are nice looking in their outfits" Rex told Kay. " Do you mind if I talk to others here?" Rex asked Kay. " Yes, I plan on having a good time here and just so you know, I have almost every dance with you, but I left three dances open for my friends" Rex explained to Kay. " The first dance and the last dance are definetly ours" Rex kissed Kay on the cheel. " I am not upset, promise" Rex hugged Kay.
