Em was absent for two years, lots of things could have happened.
"I entered that University because I want to study a Muggle profession and I need a good curriculum on the whole studying part. But I came back and now I'm going into Sheffield Uni, and I hope I get to see you often from now on." He said, smiling wide and hoping there was time to see friends from time to time.
Weakness from Chocolate. Em could notice that. "Next time I see you, you'll have mom's cocoa butter...you'll love it." He promised.
No doubt Reese's eye lit up. "R-really? You mean, there's still hope that I can get a little bit taller?" She asked. That statement had probably just made the rest of her night... if it was true, that is. If not, she probably had no hope of getting taller anytime soon. Who knew? Maybe she would magically have another growth spurt at age twenty and grow three more inches. It's possible, right? "Yeah, I'm still an Upstead. You haven't missed that much, Saenz," she replied, and then she shrugged to answer his first question. "And I'm good, I guess you could say. How are you?"
"Ahhh, I see." It wasn't enjoyable having Emiliano a whole continent away, but education was always important. She was kind of wishing that she had furthered her education then she might not actually be in the waitress business at the moment, she would be able to get a better job! Maybe it wasn't too late to sign up for college; she was only nineteen... "I'm glad you came back," she said with a grin. "Now I can hang out with someone when Jack's off doing his Quidditch thing."
Mmmm. "Coco butter," she repeated. "I can't wait!"

Em chuckled as he nodded towards the comment of getting taller, that small though possible opportunity for Reese to not look so shorty. "And if that doesn't happen, you can always recurr to magic, I mean that's why we were raised here, to be potion masters and solve our small problems..." Wasn't it true? Em hoped so...
"I'm glad you're great," Right, time for another joke. "Oh man, I thought you were married, I mean...you already have a job, and at this times, it seems like people are getting rushed to get married." It was true, though not for Emiliano. He was still looking for Karma, he missed her. "I guess...I'm okay. Still looking for that half of my heart...that someone took away." Right, yeah...it was true. He went sad immediately after that comment.
Hmm. "How about if I send you some applications next week? I have two universities craving for smart students..." And he was not one of them, nor he considered entering none of those two; they had no choice he wanted from his career. "That way...you get that waitress job off your record." Right, some gossip went around. No clue about it, though. "...and you mantain yourself busy while..." Wow, a boyfriend was mentioned. YAY. "While your boyfriend is away." He just suggested it.
Mental note: Get the cocoa butter from the pantry to give to Reese.

And he was definitely wearing the wrong clothing.
She shivered at the thought of Carter wearing pink leotards. What WAS she thinking in thinking about THAT!?
Trying to wipe the thought of Carter out of her head, she faced the fondue fountain. Well, if she was going to do this dance, she was going to need another cup of chocolate..but the Professor's were here now, and she didn't want to get caught sticking a CUP in the fountain. Grabbing a skewer, she placed a couple pieces of fruit at the end and drowned them. Mwahaha! Shoving them in her mouth quickly, she placed the skewer down and watched Carter a little longer.
The dance seemed easy. Lifting her left leg, she started to hop on her right foot.
Hop, hop, hop. FLAIL.
When was it going to rain CHOCOLATE!?
"No, not like ballet. That's completely different." Carter said. He then watched as Destiny downed another cup of chocolate and then finally decided to dance. "No, like this." he said. He stood on one foot and began shaking all over. And then he started marching. And then he spun around and started to chant.
Oh yeah. He was a good chocolate rain dancer.

"Sounds great." Jayden said as they walked hand-in-hand. He filled up a glass for her and handed her the cup and then filled one up for himself.
He then looked over toward the fountain. What were those kids doing over there?"I think I might have to go for strawberries." first he said thinking out loud.

Tagren slapped Vindictus's hand, much like he had after every game of Quidditch. Win or lose. "Doing good! Really. I've got my own business now, The Sevens Menagerie." He grinned proudly, in spite of his current discouragement with negative profits and firecrab poo. "So- I see you're still here. Are the little midgets running you ragged yet?" Deftly Tag turned the question back on Vindictus, noting the winkedy-winks and having the distinct feeling that the older man was fishing for something more personal.
"Willow!," Tag exclaimed, as the couple approached. "Hello Captain, yourself!" Forget propriety. He seized Willow and crushed her in a giant bear-hug, still able to lift her up off the ground. "I heard you whipped those Claws into shape after I left! Good for you! I was worried they'd get lazy." He set her back down, beaming. "Have you seen anyone else from the old team here? I thought I caught a glimpse of Daphne."
Oh, right. The cradle-robber. "I'm Tagren Sevens, it's a pleasure," he said, offering his hand for a shake.

Then Willow joined them with her date. Well, Max assumed the man was her date because he'd seen them come in together.
"Nothing's changed, Willow. I've been keeping up with your career - is it true that you actually broke a bat after smashing a Bludger at the Chaser from the other team?" he asked.
Max held his hand out to Nik. "Pleasure to meet you, Nikolai." A slight pause. "You're Andrei's son, aren't you. He never mentioned that his son attended Hogwarts." Another pause. Maybe I should pick Kayleen's brain about her schoolmates. She did complain incessantly for two summers about a prat in Hufflepuff.
Hugs. Willow mentally winced.
It was slightly difficult, but she did the all the appropriates pat on his back here and there, and when he let her go and put her back on her feet, Willow actually smiled."Well, they were already good, admittedly, so there wasn't much to do." Modesty. Willow could careless about it, but she'd heard it was good to be modest. Whatever. "I haven't seen anyone, as a matter of fact," Her dark eyebrows furrowed a little bit at this, "Would hate to think none of them showed up." And yes, that was disapproval in her tone.
As always, Willow Kovac managed to find something or someone to judge or simply scowl at. It was almost a talent, really. "Oh!" Willow took a small moment to prevent a smile to show up. "It is hardly my fault, professor Vindictus, that bats these days are made of such a poor material." Or that people managed to anger her often enough so she was forced to take it out on the bludger during Quidditch matches and practices.
Dylan watched her eat. She was funny. Such a contrast. He smiled, "At least you would have a supporter. I will make a banner and everything." Or try to. His drawing skills weren't fantastic.
"You aren't an idiot. He is the idiot." And Dylan would be having words.
"THat would be amazing actually. I played last term... know the team, but drifted away, as you can surely tell," she said with a sigh. She really missed being up in the air playing. It was a rush and also a release from all tensions and whatnot.
Lexi shook her head. "No I am an idiot... Sabel is a bit of an odd one. I think I mistook his kindness and friendship for what I wanted it to be. Ah hell, I am better off without him I'd say," she huffed and shoved more chocolate in her mouth.

Her eyes then moved toward the fountain and she blinked. Was that little Carter she saw? What was he doing? Shaking her head, she then glanced around. If that was Carter, Mina shouldn't be all that far, but her little cousin was still no where to be found. Turning her attention back to Jayden, she nodded. "Strawberries sound perfect."

Marie just stood there still watching Carter trying to teach Destiny to do that funny looking dance. "You two do know you are just a tad bit crazy... right?" She then picked up a fondue skewer and put a strawberry on it and loaded it with chocolate. "You guys keep doing your little dance and I will just eat these delicious chocolate strawberries."
Yeah, her boyfriend and best friend were definatley crazy but that was what she liked about them. They always had fun no matter what they were doing.

She smiled back at him. "Yes I am." she agreed. She couldn't have imagined herself in any other house. That would have been dreadful for her.
Tommy picked up a strawberry and took a bite of it. "Well you see we aren't charming the brooms. Its the actual wood." She didn't want to give away their trade secrets so she stopped talking before she did. "The brooms are a bit more powerful than simply carrying a potion, but we will work out the kinks." She told him. She wanted to topple Firebolt and this broom series was going to do it.
She nodded. Yeah she knew who Anna was. It wasn't that she disliked the girl, Anna just irritated her. It must be exhausting being her all day long it certainly was for Tommy when she was around her. "Ahhh well that certainly was nice. I'm sure you two together make quite the team. Mr. and Mrs. Hogwarts." she couldn't help that last dig. It was funny to her.
Tomasina looked at him. A sad smile on her face. "If you have time for me." she bowed her head slightly and turned and disappeared onto the dance floor.
"Yes I simply mean for the testers to take to negate the effects of the charms you are testing." Nicholai explained, with a small smile. He was a firm believer that a potion could do anything a spell could and sometimes more if you knew what you were doing.
"Always, Tommy. You need only remember to say hello." He grinned and watched her leave, then after she'd headed off, he collected some chips for Bucky and went outside.

It was literally dripping with chocolate, which just screamed the word calories, but only one wouldn't hurt.
She took a bite, muttering, "Mmm..." as she did so. A little bit of chocolate may have dripped off her strawberry and onto what she hoped was anything but her date, but Lexi couldn't be sure. Hopefully it hadn't been her dress! "This is amazing..."
"Huh? Oh, erm, I don't know, actually," she said, finishing off the last of her strawberry. She'd actually been giving most of her attention to helping Sage have as good of a time as possible---at his first ball ever---so she really hadn't given much thought to a reunion with friends. "Well, I did see this Slytherin boy---or, man now---I used to date back in my fifth and sixth years. He was dancing with a woman I'm guessing is now his wife," she said. "Oh, and a few of the girls I graduated with are here, too. I saw them in the---ladies room---earlier."
That chocolate was dripping everywhere and Sage was smart enough to take a small step backwards. He didn't mind about getting messy - he WAS the Herbology professor after all. Dragon dung fertilizer, anyone? - but this was a fancy ball! His very first one. He wanted to at least make some sort of good impression..? Heh.
"You dated a Slytherin?" He heard himself blurt out before he could stop himself. Oopsy daisy. "I - I mean.. that's nice.." He knew it was wrong to follow stereotypes, but Slytherins creeped him out slightly. EEK! He quickly tried to move on.. "I never understood why females feel the need to go to the bathroom as a group.." Another bizarre thing the opposite sex did.
"Don't you want to go say hi to them?" He didn't have anyone he wanted to say hi too, but he didn't want to ruin Lexi's time here! The whole point of an alumni ball was to catch up with old faces afterall, right?

And then there were this people that like, totally knew how to give a good hug.. well, squeeze, like Clifford. That had probably been the world’s shortest hug ! no.. ? well it had seemed like it.. humn .. moving on..
The blonde young lady observed the brunette in front of her, covering her mouth with her free hand, Eleanor snorted in amusement at Evangeline’s behaviour. And then.. she was interrupted.
“Shrimp?” Wait, er.. whaa? Eleanor stared at the male for a second, blinking. Her hazel eyes then subtly turned to Evangeline just in time to see her facial expression changing. “ Er.. no, not yet Clifford. I just got here so I’ve only tried the strawberry smoothies.” she replied, eyes moving back to the male, her lips breaking into a smile as she pointed to the huge pink glass on her right hand. “They are yummmmmyyyy, you can’t leave without trying them!” Food talk.. that was nice. hehe Gah, she had missed Clifford I-eat-gnomes-and-I-was-transformed-into-a-squirrel- Carden.
Eeeeyes back to Evangeline Green Apple. “Pretty ?! It is AMAZING and hugggee !” Eleanor spoke, grinning. It really, really was… otherwise Eleanor wouldn’t have wasted her time commenting it. “Can I see it ? In your hand of course ! ”
She hadn't tried the shrimp. Right.
Judging by Evangeline's expression - yes, he'd caught that look - Clifford had said or/and done the wrong thing and the twenty-one year old shuffled his big feet anxiously.
Saying the right thing wasn't really his strong point. Maybe he should keep his lips sealed and let the girls do their ... thang.
"I'll make sure I try one," he smiled unsurely at Ellie in regards to the strawberry smoothies as he sneakily snuck his arm around Evangeline's waist and gave a tight squish. Because sometimes actions spoke louder than words?
"Show the woman you're ring, Evie!" He grinned, his free hand moving to find his fiancée's left hand and holding it up so Ellie could admire the sparkly. "It used to be my Mother's." HEHE.

Lexi laughed lightly and playfully shook her head when Sage took a small step backward. It had only been a little drip of chocolate that she'd dropped---what did he think she was going to do? Spit on him, or something? Then again, she didn't blame him much. If she was in danger of chocolate dripping on her nice clothes, she might would take a step or two backward, as well.
She blinked a time or two, but otherwise showed no additional surprise, when Sage blurted out something about her formerly dating a Slytherin. "Well, yeah," she said, shrugging a little. She'd dated two actually---at two different times, of course---but with the shock Sage had over one Slytherin, she'd just save him the panic attack over two. "He was a really nice guy..." Laughing again, Lexi said, "Oh, I didn't go to the bathroom with them---I saw them when I walked in," she said. It was funny how men recognized the fact that women went to the bathroom usually in pairs or small groups. She wasn't even sure why that was---it just...was.
When Sage asked if Lexi wanted to go say hi to her friends, she just sort of shrugged again. She was having a good time with him, too, but it would nice to say hello to a few others. Besides, she sort of thought that Sage might be trying to get away for a bit---not from her, but from the front and center of the ball festivities. Knowing this, she smiled and nodded her head. "Okay, I think I'll do that. I'll be around, 'kay?" she replied. With a smile in his direction, Lexi turned and was soon lost in the crowd of people.

Were Eleanor and Clifford discussing the food? Chuckling amusedly under her breath, Evangeline looked around the room. MMMM. It seemed like it was filling with familiar faces! That was Nico, wasnt it? And .... oh, was that Willow? And Tommy! She wondered if Excelsior was around too. EEEE!
Eleanor's words did regain her attention, though, and Evangeline looked down at her ring, wrinkled her nose. Not in disagreement or anything, simply in ... thought. It wasn't huge, was it? It wasn't an obnoxious ring or anything. Naaah. "It's the perfect size, I think! Not massive and capable of poking people's eyes out!"
Evangeline hoped it wasn't, anyway.
If Evangeline had wondered before if Clifford was perhaps not comfortable talking about their engagement, it seemed she was definitely wrong. Turning to look at him, she griiiiinned brightly as her body settled nicely, familiarly against his. She squeezed his hand before moving her own hand to give Eleanor a perfect view of the ring. "See! It's not that big."

Whichever worked.
"A decent Beater usually goes through five or six bats each season," Vindictus noted to Willow. "Some sports writers call it barbaric, but it's part of playing the position. But here's the real question - did you put the Chaser in the hospital with that hit?"

Jade smiled and took the skewer from Jayden. A completely covered strawberry, just how she liked them. "Yes, completely covered is perfect," she smiled as she twirled the skewer slowly to prevent the chocolate from running too much. Blowing slightly on the berry, she brought it to her lips and took a bite.
Mmmm, yes it was rather perfect.
Licking some of the chocolate off her lips, Jade's eye moved back to the crazy dancing students. Yes, that was definitely Carter there and he was with other girls, none of them being Mina. Jade would have to talk to her cousin about that. She didn't realize it had gotten so bad between the two.

She thought back... Last term was fuzzy for the most part. Imperiused and all. DUH. He knew that. He was under the bloody curse too. She simply shrugged. "If you played for Slytherin then I played you... and beat you," she said then smiled HUGELY. Yeah that's right... little sister BEAT you. Hehe.
Lexi sighed and grabbed a napkin and wiped the yuck off of her face and tossed her plate in the garbage bin. "I dunno. Maybe I need to forget about boys for a while and focus on my studies... I will never make it into Auror training if not. And you're right... I DON't need anyone else, brother. I don't have to worry about you hurting me," she smiled.

Reese nodded. "Right," she said. "I'm sure I could find a potion that would make me a little bit taller." Thinking about it, she was going to look into that when she got back to her apartment. She was sure that she still had some of her Potion books from last year lying around... somewhere. Finding them might actually take a while, but she knew she would eventually find them.
Did she seem like the person that wanted to rush to get married? She was still okay with that promise Jack had given her last year about him proposing to her when he got enough money. "I'm not rushing to get married. Not at all," she told him. "I'm still trying to get my life together, so I want to work on getting a great job before I think about putting money into planning a wedding." The next thing that was said made her frown. "Aww, Em. What's up with you and Karma?"
"Applications... to colleges?" That was such a great offer. She would probably be STUPID not to accept that. "I would like that, but I don't even know what I want to do now. The music business was suppose to last longer than it did and now... nothing. Nothing except carrying food to tables." She wasn't really surprised that Emiliano knew about the waitress job because he knew a lot of her friends, so someone probably told him. "Send them over," she added. "I'll look at them. Maybe I'll get some inspiration on what I want to do when I look at them." Hopefully. She needed to get herself back into the game before all those Galleons that she stored in Gringotts from the little time she worked in the studio (and at least 1,000 Galleons were from her parents) disappeared.

Dylan chuckled. "I only played in one game, so I didn't necessarily play you. And I was a half time substitute anyway." She didn't necessarily beat him. She did beat someone though. Well two people.
He nodded, "Yeah. Concentrate on getting into the Auror programme." He gave her a slight punch in the shoulder. "I can hurt you though." Only physically, like little sisters are meant to be. And it was only a temporary pain anyway.

Lyra made her way inside, determined that she was a little more hungry than usual. Maybe that was her reasonings behind snapping at Vannie's date? Nah! She already wasn't fond of Seth and the way he treated her and well, he deserved her snooty ways. She walked over to the table, eying what was laid out for everyone to enjoy.
you live your life just once, so don't forget about a thing called love.
Christian followed Lyra inside, but at a distance. He was embarrassed by the way she had spoked to/looked at Vanessa's date. Once they had reached the table, Christian picked up a few grapes and popped them into his mouth.

Guess who just got back today. Them wild-eyed boys that had been away.
Haven't changed that much to say. But man, I still think them cats are crazy.
They were askin' if you were around. How you was, where you could be found....

Lyra turned and noticed the gaping distance between herself and Christian. She turned back to reach for a small saucer, first picking up a pickle, placing it on her plate yet not giving it enough time to lay in one spot before taking a bite.
"I know what you are thinking," she sighed, rolling her eyes a bit. "But you don't know about him like I do." Man this pickle was delicsh! "He's stuck on himself." She moved in closer to Christian to whisper yet not removing the pickle from her grasp for yet another yummy taste. "The man has mirrors all over his....house...room. He even watches himself sleep." She reached for another pickle, thinking she'd never had such a wonderful pickle before. "Have you ever met someone so...soo...stuck on themselves?"

Ariel was having an amazing time with her Teal. Yes. HER Teal. He was always sweet to her, and even though he may have been a tad older than she. You'd have never known it... And she loved Cyrus. He was a spunky kid. She moved closer to Teal and looking around, wondered briefly if a professor would put her in detention if she sat on her boyfriend's lap when she spotted...

He couldn't stay here after that. Merlin forbid.
"MERLIN'S QUAFFLES!!!!" She screamed. She grabbed Teal's hand and dragged him toward the Falcon's Star Chaser. "That's Nikolai Vannacutt, like the Totallest Bestest Chaser EVER! He's like ranked totally high! He plays for the Falmouth Falcons!!!" And he was the dreamiest player of all... but she wouldn't mention that fact to her Teal... "Mister Vannacutt sir? Can I have your autograph?!" *Squeeeeeee!*

Jayden laughed and then ate his strawberries. Oh yeah, that is just what he needed.
He followed her gaze to the young boy who was... well, he wasn't quite sure what the boy was doing. "I thought you weren't that into younger guys." he teased Jade.

Jade batted her eyes innocently. "I'm not. You know I'm into the older adventurous types that like to paint." she smirked. "I think I know that boy though, I think he's friends with my cousin." Taking another look, she was positive now. That was definitely Carter.
