Jayden smirked as she told him what she liked in a guy. He then looked at the boy and blinked. "That one?" he asked. Well, that was unexpected from what he had heard about her cousin. "I wonder what he's doing."

Jade nodded and smiled. "Yes, I think I've met him once. He was at the QWC, Mina was rather taken by him." she explained as she looked back to Carter and laughed softly. "I'm only assuming a dance?"

"Oh, really?" Jayden asked looking at the kid. "I was there too." he said. In fact, that was why he chose then to move back to London.

"So, is your cousin here too?" he asked looking at the various girls around the strange dancing boy.

Leilani nodded in agreement. "True. In that case I'm serving tacos at my wedding." Psh, she would've served tacos at her wedding even if he'd said they were a waste of space. Which, Jimbo would never say.... cause he's Jimbo...... Mmmmmm tacos!!

Lani's jaw dropped in a sort of comical way and she pointed to the huge slice of cake on her plate. "Do you not see the monumental piece of cake on my plate?!?" she inquired. Oh wait, did she just admit she eats too much cake?? Naw, not possible. There's no such thing as too much cake.

Jade smiled and looked back to Jayden. "Yeah, she had a bit of a crush on him. Well, she did last year but last I heard they hadn't really talked." she explained. Now that she thought about it, Mina hadn't really mentioned much about Carter. "I did tease her a bit about him, but I heard she might have moved on to a Slytherin." Actually, she knew for a fact her cousin was there with a snake and she did want to meet the boy. "Really, I'm surprised we didn't run into each other." Yes, the QWC was huge, but Jade had seen so many people there she never really expected.

Glancing back to Carter and the girls around him, she shook her head. "No, she doesn't appear to be around." Seriously, where was that girl? "I know she's here tonight, but she's not over there by Carter. In fact, I don't even know who those girls are." The fact that Mina wasn't about and Carter was with other girls, Jade felt a bit concerned for her cousin. It must have been worst than she expected.

Why was he cringing? What was wrong with him? GAH! Open. Close. Open. Close. What was his mouth doing? Strange, he was. "So you know someone that is like this?" She looked towards the table and found cake. CAKE AND PICKLES RULED! Instantly, she placed a slice of cake on her plate, making sure the pickle juice that was collecting soaked in.

"Please tell me you never conversed with this person." Oh poor baby. She lifted her hand, rubbing his strong arms with a sorrowful glance on her face. "It's okay. You don't have to answer. I don't want to know anyway." She was not going to force him to say something he didn't want. Poor thing. It looked so hard for him to say anything with such a thoughtful look he was possessing.

Christian was ready to PUKE at the sight of the cake and the pickle juice soaking up together in the same plate. He was becoming more and more afraid to open his mouth at all. Never conversed? O________O. He conversed with this person EVERYDAY. In fact, they lived together!

Though this pickle thing. They were going to have to discuss that later.

"Oh."

Nikolai should have anticipated this. With a wig and a healthy dose of Polyjuice Potion. He sent Vindictus a look that was half exasperation and half smugness. He was a star, after all.

"Please," he smiled down at the little blonde bundle, "It's Nik, and you are?"

Signing autographs. He hated doing that. Mostly cos whenever he did, it was all his publicist's doing and he spent the day signing and smiling from behind a large table bedecked with his own pictures. It was always a practice in patience. Maybe he could get away with a dance and a photo instead.

Certainly wouldn't be a chore with this one.

Awwww. Christian looked slightly upset, more like he was about to be sick, but Lyra could sense his pain. "It's okay. We don't have to talk about it." She reached over for some pumpkin juice and took a drink. Mmmmm. So good! "In a moment, can we dance?" She wanted to step on his feet and have her lead him, pulling her lightly across the dance floor.

"Oh, I bet she's off having the time of her life on the arm of that snake." Jayden said stabbing a pineapple with his skewer. He dumped it in the chocolate.

He watched the boy for a few more seconds. In all honesty, if he was a girl, he'd be completely embarrassed by that and so run to a Slytherin too.

"Oh, I wouldn't be." he said. "I sat in the nosebleed seats." which, in Quidditch, were the seats not raised up at all where you had to break your neck or lie completely down to see. "And then I took some little kid to met the players since his dad was being boring."

"We can look for your cousin now if you'd like." he said. And by now he of course meant after he had finished his chocolate covered pineapple. He popped it into his mouth and chewed.

Okay, now he was ready.

Dancing was good. However, the fact that her mouth was going to smell like pickle heaven, dancing close did not seem very tempting. Perhaps if he could pop a mint into her mouth...and pass it off as nothing...hmmmm...

"Certainly, my love," he smiled, lifting a strawberry from a bowl. "I would love to dance with you." He then took a bite of the strawberry and chewed happily.

Jade smiled as she swirled the skewer in her fingers. "You are probably right. Mina's probably having an amazing time or something." she nodded. Yes, her cousin was probably making the best of her time with whomever she was with. Looking at just how Carter was acting and dancing, she was sure Mina was off having a great time with her date instead.

Teenage boys were so weird! Shaking her head, she looked back to Jayden and laughed softly. "You think her date is that embarrassing?" Yes, if she was Mina, she'd probably run off with a Slytherin herself.

"Oh, we sat a bit higher since our family pulled some strings and all," she replied. She would have been content with sitting lower and all, but her family had insisted that they seat together in the higher level. "Well, aren't the nicest guy. I'm sure the little kid idolized you for doing that for him." She knew that if she had seen a guy do that for someone, she'd be very impressed by it. Brownie points would have been earned for sure.

Giving the skewer a final twirl, she finished her last strawberry and licked her lips. "Sure, let's go," she smiled. "I haven't teased her in some time and you know I'm so curious to see this snake of hers." Oh if she did see her cousin, she would so take a poke at her on her little date.

Jayden laughed. "All I know is that I've never quite seen a dance like that." he said watching a little longer. "Except once... I saw a dance like that in Africa. An old shaman was doing some kind of rain dance." he said recalling the incident. But there's no way that kid was doing a rain dance. That would be just silly.

"Oh, you should have seen the guy. He was reading during the match. I felt so bad for the poor kid." he said shaking his head. He got to leave the man, but the kid on the other hand would be forever stuck with the man.

"So which direction would you suggest for our hunt?" he asked her looking around.

Jade glanced back over at Carter and shook her head. What she would have done for a camera to capture that. Turning back to Jayden, she smiled. "It must be a special dance." It was intriguing and she couldn't help but keep watching, but she pulled her attention away from it again and looked to her date. ""Rain dance? That sounds interesting." But was that, what Carter was doing and if so, why was he doing it inside and next to the chocolate fountain?

"That is terrible. Why would be even go if he was going to do that," she frowned. Why would a parent do such a thing to their child? "Well, at least you were around to help the poor thing out." she added. It really did baffle her how some parents were.

Looking around, Jade craned her head slightly. "I'm not all that sure. They could be in here or outside. I remember Mina mentioning working on a pond or something." she voiced as she looked back at him and shrugged. "We could possible start there or maybe they could be dancing?"

Willow's tone was perfectly innocent. Very conversational, too, as if she were discussing such a mundane thing as the weather outside or the color of her earrings, "He actually couldn't play for the rest of the season." Professor Vindictus would be SO proud. Obviously.

Letting her eyes to wander briefly, Willow's eyes fell on three very familiar Slytherins; Evangeline Green, Clifford Carden and Eleanor. Eleanor Bluebell who was a blonde. What. On Earth. Quickly getting over the shock, she allowed herself to smile a tiny smile for the group, and then... then... she saw her date getting mobbed by a fangirl.

Oh, well.

"Yeah..." Jayden said. "I wonder if the poor little boy is here." he said looking around. Nope, he didn't see him.

Jayden thought for a moment. "Well, we were just in the ballroom..." he said. "Did you see her in there?" he asked. She probably wasn't paying attention though. A pond did sound like a nice romantic stroll area. If she didn't recall seeing her cousin in the ballroom he would suggest there.

Lyra's eyes looked down to the strawberry that Christian was eating. Mmmmmmm. "Well, I would certainly hope so," she agreed with him dancing with her. She leaned over the table, almost bumping Christian out of the way to get to a strawberry of her own. "Sorry. I missed these." She popped a strawberry into her mouth, but it seemed to be slightly sour, making her eyes squint in rejection.

Now she had an awful taste in her mouth. "Gum. I need...gum...mint..." she licked her lips, wrinkling her nose in disgust. "Anything to get this nasty taste out of my mouth." GAG!

Daniel didn`t really know anyone he wanted to be around at the ball. So he had come to find something to eat. Sugar was the solution when you were bored . It would make Daniel forget that he didn`t have alot of friends. Sigh. He really should try harder.

OOOOOOO!

Chocolate fountain! Daniel forgot all about his lack of friends and looked around for a glass. Then he turned back to the fountain. Oh so chocolatey. Sugary. Mouthwatering, He watched it pour and foam. It really did look good. He held up his cup and watched it fill with the chocolate.

"I get into a zone when I play quidditch... there is no telling really", she said with a grin.All she remembered was playing playing playing... not faces really. "Why don't you remember much? Did you get hurt or sommat?" she asked.

Lexi shrugged nonchalantly.... she was sure he was better off without her. Giggling and nearly choking on the large amount of food in her mouth she finally swallowed and grinned widely. "You're so right, big bro... why would I need anyone else?"

Dylan shrugged, "Dunno. I probably did. I was seeker after all. I hear all the beaters try to kill you when you are a seeker." He really couldn't remember much.

He chuckled, "Exactly. You don't. Plus you are only little. Wait til you are at least 16 before you start looking at boys. Maybe after I leave Hogwarts."

"I do enjoy playing Beater. Chaser is what I am best at though... I am used to it. I hardly think I have a Beater's build," she giggled and flexed her muscles.

"Heeeeeey! I am not little, Dylan! I am 13 years old. I have you know that I have already had a boyfriend and I don't intend to stop looking at boys. You are going to be a pain in my bum aren't you?" she said with a giggle.

He nodded, "Sure am. The biggest pain in your bum that you will ever know. No boys til you are old enough." Even if he had to cast some sort of charm on her that caused her to seal her lips up whenever she got close to a boy. That had to exist, right?

"You sure are taking this big brother job seriously there, buddy. It's precious. But you won't be at Hoggies for much longer... I may date all of the Gryffie Quidditch team once you leave... the cute ones anyway," she teased and gave him a gentle poke in the ribs.

Dylan nodded, "That's what you get now. You asked for an older brother, and you got one. I still have another year. At the end of which you will be 15. You can date who you want when I am elsewhere." He rubbed his ribs lightly before jabbing her back.
