Perhaps the smile that was upon Destiny's face was a little too intimidating. If smiles could be intimidating. It had to be the reason, or else she would have had a partner as soon as the Professor said find a partner. Unless everyone knew she was HORRIBLE at the subject. At least she knew how to count! Wiping the intimidating smile off her face, she still glanced around the room for someone to come and save her from being partner-less. Sure, she could have picked someone, but what fun is that? No, it was more fun to watch people fight to be your partner..which was not happening at the moment. Just about to claim defeat and do this task on her own, someone had approached her! Yes! This saved her from doing all the work on her own. And the boy did just so happen to be someone she did not know. "Sure, we can be partners!" she said, putting that smile back onto her face. Gesturing to the seat next to her, she pulled out her parchment, which she did not do earlier, and a quill. "I really don't know you, do I?" Well duh. She didn't even know his name! |
Hehe. <3 Quote:
Staring at the birthdate she had just noted down Nancy swallowed before glancing back up at the Hufflepuff. "Whoa...now I really feel old." There was a small smirk tugging at the corner of her lips, however, though it was still slightly shocking. She really was graduating this term, wasn't she? Scary. "Ooh, don't worry. I'm-" Awesome at Arithmancy? Okay, that probably sounded a little self-obsessed. "I'll help you. I'm sure you'll grow to love Arithmancy soon!" She beamed at the other girl before directing her gaze back down at her parchment. "Now, first we'll calculate our Life Path Number, 'kay?" Nancy didn't wait for the other girl to reply but simply went on, "For that you first take the number of the month of birth, which in your case is 7." She gestured towards the 'July' part on her parchment. Obviously. "Then you add the day of birth, which would be 6." She wrote down what she had just explained. "Now, finally you add each individual number of the birth year together, which would be 2+0+5+9 which is 16, which again would be 1+6. Then finally you add those three numbers and reduce them which would give you in your case...2. So, your Life Path Number is 2." With that she grinned up at Arya again from her parchment. Quote:

"You sure umm, d-don't bi--" He trailed off, he just thought that it was going to be super silly if he ask the girl if she bites or not. And that was why he despised partnering with other people 'cause he couldn't be so certain if that person would be good or mean. And he had to keep his 'cool'. Yeah. And he could do that by showing off how he good he was at Arithmancy, yep. He wore his half-crooked smile again upon taking a seat beside the girl. "Great! We're now partners then." But wait, how come the girl didn't know him? Hmm. Well, he wasn't popular so yeah, he shouldn't be expecting that most of the people around would know him. "Oooh, you don't know me? I'm Ced. Cedric Nicholas Leone so... prepared to work?" He asked her coolly as he gently yet dramatically brushed his tangling hair away from his brows and eyes. And now, they should start working. |
As Annie listened to the class continue, people answering questions about what Arithmancy, Core Numbers, Life Path and Expression Numbers, she was taking notes, and taking a quick glance at her textbook as she tried to at least think of her own results for a minute or two. Just when she thought all was this close to be...a little harder, Annie found herself relieved that they were going to be doing exercises, after choosing a partner of course. Eep. Gladly, Annie barely knew everyone at the classroom. Taking a quick glance around with her notebook and textbook in hand, she waved: "Hey, does anyone need a partner? 'Cause I'm available..." She said, knowing that was a bit odd to do, but it was absolutely needed. EEEk..getting to know people, not her greatest forte. |

Ty needed a partner. After listening to the people speak about their core numbers, he had already begun to fidget in anticipation. Who knew what waited for him in the NUMBERS? "Hey! I need a partner!" Ty raised his hand at the girl who had spoken, hoping she'd see him. |
ooc: I'll take a bit of time with your numbers, i'm about to head to school. :3 Quote:
"...I guess we should get to work!" She beamed to the boy and passed on a piece of parchment with her name and date of birth. Quote:

Note: I'll quote/offer specific advice later, but for now, y'all are doing great! <3 Just reminder for at least one thing I noted in my skimming, Expression number is your FULL NAME, Life Path number is your birthday. =) Josephina walked around the room as the students were working heavily on their calculations. Some just started out and others seem to have finished. "If you've finished those two calculations, then please feel free to read the textbook interpretations to your partner and let them decipher if they fit. OR if you really want to, then you decide if they fit based on your observation of them." That was what she'd have done; but then again, she was an observer and not everyone was. Noting a couple students seemed to not have partners, she decided to randomly partner two up. "Grayson Kelly and Jenessa Taylor? You two seem partnerless." She nodded at the two. "If anyone seems to not be able to find a partner, let me know." As I'm sure there is someone who you're just avoiding... |
Rhea had been feverishly taking notes. She felt a bit disappointed that she hadn't been totally right but what did she expect? She was rubbish with Arithmancy. Oh well she wouldn't let it get her down. Not today. After writing down all the notes the professor asked them to partner up. She sighed. This was going to be a problem..maybe she should just do it on her own. However she decided to ask if there were no takers she would fly solo. "Does anyone need a partner?" |
Simon looked at the Professor. "EEP" He was scared now, he had no partner and no idea how he was suppost to do what the Professor wanted him to. "Professor, I don't have a partner." Simon said after raising his hand, he was still wondering how he was suppost to do something he didn't understand. |
Gotcha! :D Quote:
"Yep! Let's GO!" he exclaimed excitedly, glad that An seemed to be just as excited about this as he was. Quickly scribbling down his name, Ty took her parchment as he passed her his. Quote:
Hmmm.... Ok. Flipping open his book, Ty bit his lip as he concentrated. Quote:

Listening as the Prefect spoke, she tried to work out the math as the older girl worked but she was moving faaast. Maybe she should have just watched first? Arya scribbled down her calculations while listening to Nancy, her head whipping between both of their parchements. When she had finished atempting to find Life Path Number, she frowned down at her parchement, scratching her head with her quill. "I don't think it's right." She showed Nancy her Quote:

And, done! With taking notes, of course. It was easy to mix up which number involved what, so Aiden had taken it down, just in case. He glanced around the classroom. Hmm. Rhea still needed a partner as well, but they were supposed to find people they didn't know, right? Ah well. "Yeah, is there anyone who doesn't have a partner just yet?" Anyone, anyone? Bueller.. |

While Ty worked on her paper, she did the same. It was hard to concentrate when there were lots of numbers, pieces to fit and re-reading instructions from their textbooks. Blinking a few times, and rechecking her work like four more, she turned to Ty to see that he was already done with hers. "You're fast." Annie said, giving him back his paper and taking her own. "And here is your paper, Ty..." Annie said, "I hope I'm right with the calculations...it seems we have the same destiny number..." She mentioned. Quote:

Partners? Quote:

"I don't have a partner yet," Fletcher calmly stated from where he'd slumped down in his seat. He even half-heartedly waved a hand about in the air to get the professor's attention. Merllllllllllin this class required an attention to detail that he wasn't sure he possessed. And they were going to have to give out their full names. Nuhuh. That was as good a reason as any to remain partner-less. |
Victoria looked at Etoile's numbers and then, glanced at her book. "Let see..." Quote:

Aiden smiled as a Hufflepuff girl approached him. Good, so he wouldn't be partnerless! "Excellent. I'm Aiden, by the way," he introduced, while grabbing his quill. Ripping off a bit of spare parchment, he wrote down his full name and date of birth and listened for her name in return. Quote:

... o_O "Er... I don't understand," Ty said, reading it over and over again before sighed and pouting slightly. Written words weren't really his thing. So, he moved on to the Life Path number and happened to catch sight of a mistake - or at least, he THOUGHT it was a mistake - on An's calculations. Should he tell her? But she was so BIG. She could CRUSH him. She knew loads of spells!! "Er... An. . . There's... um... well, ahem... mistake? Maybe? I could be wrong!!" Ty added hurriedly, his eyes wide. "You, er, added it wrong... and didn't reduce it before adding it with the other numbers," he pointed to the parchment, towards where it said 13. "Shouldn't that be sixteen? And then therefore seven? And then five plus seven would be 12 and so my life path number would be three? Maybe? I dunno!! I'm probably wrong, you're super smart I bet," Ty trailed off, REALLY hoping she wouldn't snap his head off. He LIKED his head. |
Alexandrie waved her hand, "I don't have a partner Professor." Alex wasn't the type to normally admit this but she couldn't tell who had partners and who didn't, so safer option was to tell the Professor so she'd assign the partnerless to each other. She did frown however she hated her middle name so maybe partnerless meant no would know. |
sorry for the late reply! Quote:
A partner? Well, that was quick. Even though she didn't really know the guy, she knew that he was in her house and, no that's all she knew. "Yes...I do." Picking up her quill again, she looked around, wondering where in the world he was supposed to sit since these desks really needed upgrading, and there were already people on either side of her which... ...meant she had to share her desk? Bleh. |
Kate was disorientated, she hadn´t a partner and couldn´t see a student without one...so she decided to wait for one to be able. |
Anyone who'd like to RP with me :) SPOILER!!: quotey Iris listened to the volunteers pretend to be the Core Numbers, and it was a good job too, because she'd forgotten the most of them. She listened to the Professor (Whose name Iris couldn't remember. Oops.) explain what they were doing, Hmm. A stranger. Fair enough. That would just make working the Life Path number and Destiny Number more fun, because there was nothing for you to work on. It would be like pretending to be one of those Muggle fortune tellers that you see in the really old muggle movies and stories. hehe. Getting up from her seat, she sighed and shrugged at Jimbo, "Sorry, Mate; I can't work with you. I know you too well." And then walked over to a student who looked pretty partner-less, "Hi, I'm Iris. Do you need a partner?" She asked them cheerfully. Well, you may as well be cheerful. Arithmancy was like Divination for SMART people. What wasn't there to be cheerful about? |
SPOILER!!: Xylon and Iris The nerve of Xylon Saar! "I know you a little too well," Gold said, rather pointedly. Of course, she did not really. But the fact that Mr. Muscles was a constant nuisance and an even more constant flirt, was enough to ensure that she did not even think of consenting, to his offer. Not in a million years. Please! It was at that precise moment, that a Slytherin - by her robes - walked over to her. "That sounds lovely," Gold said, pleasantly. Rawr for a nice partner. |
