Phyre blinked. "You're a Black!? So am I. Wow. Small world, right? Though, I guess there are a million of us." (Despite the fact that the line died with Sirius almost 65 years prior :xd:) She then pulled her parchment close to her and began to do the work.



"See?" she asked, sliding the work over. "Your Life Path Number is five. That's the easier calculation. If you write it out in numeric order, then you just add each number together. January, one, plus the fifth, plus two for 2000, the 6 for sixty, and that's fourteen. But you can't have a number in the double digits, so you add the one and the four from fourteen to get five. Simple enough. The fact that 2060 has two zero's in it makes the process quicker. For my birth date, it would be more difficult, since I was born two years before you. And now, I'll do the other work."



"See the chart?" Phyre asked, pointing the copy she had redrawn for the equation. "I took the number assigned to each of the letters in your name and added them all up. It came to ninety-nine, and that's more than one digit, so I added nine and nine. Then that came to eighteen, which is still more than one digit, so I added one and eight. That made nine, which is your Destiny number. So, Adelyn, your Life Number is five, and your Destiny Number is nine. Got it? Now try with my information. My full name is Sapphyre Edwige Prince-Black, and I was born on October 13, 2078." She then wrote down her full name on her calculation sheet, knowing very well that Sapphyre was usually spelled with an I and Edwige was a very irregular French name.

Alexandrie gave a small laugh at the girl's embarassment. Certainly made up for calling her a guy, she thought. "It's fine. Yes I know my mom wanted to name me Alexandrie but my dad wanted to name me Adrasteia. As you can see they named me both. I don't really like my middle name much as it is. It's latin for Unyielding. Anyway let's get started..My birthday is April 2nd 2060." She truly didn't think she was unyielding. She did however give the girl a small smile.

Cadence laughed a little as he corrected her mistake. "Oh right!" she said, scribbling out her work for his Life Path Number with a smile. "Sorry, obviously numbers aren't my thing. I'm more of a word person," she said, smiling at him and beginning to recalculate his Life Path Number.

Looking back up at him from her work, she smiled again. "So, your Life Path Number is REALLY 8. Does that sound better?" she asked him. Then he had moved on, and she checked his calculations. Those all seemed to be correct. As he flipped through the pages, Cadence felt a bit nervous for what the book would tell her. At first, she crinkled her nose at the possible career options the book gave her: book keeping, accounting. Those didn't sound like fun at all. Then she read a little further and it mentioned education. That peaked her interest a bit. And when she read her explanation of her Destiny Number, she just smiled. That sounded just like her, always wanting to make people happy and encourage other people.

Scanning further down the page, though, she saw something that said:
And looked back up at Aiden, pointing at the passage. "Wait, but wouldn't this one be me since before you simplified the number the last time it was 22?" she asked interestedly.

Now it was his turn. She looked up his numbers in textbook and read them aloud to him:

After reading from the book, Cadence looked up at the boy and considered him for a moment. "Right, so, this is saying that you were born to be a leader... a great leader by the sound of it! It says you're determined and like to be in charge of things. Oo! Maybe you're going to be Minister of Magic!" she said laughing a little. "Does that sound like you?"

Kate peep on Bella´s notes and noted a mistake "Bella, my last name is POTS, you miss the final "s" "
Kate grabbed her notes and read to Bella the meaning of her numbers:

"I think there´s ok..." She thought, and waited for the Professor to continue with the lesson.

Melissa nodded, feeling slightly better. "Unyielding? But it is a quite nice name," she spoke, the embarrassment hiding but still there. "Alright, mine is Februray 26th 2059," that was weird they were first years but why was Melissa nearly a year older? Weird.

So anyway Melissa think! She thought as she jotted down Alexandrie's date of birth and name on a spare piece of parchment.

Right so that was a looong name. This will take some time doing.

She was going to do Alexandrie's life path number first so she began. This was going to be hard!

"Right Life path Number is 5," Melissa muttered to herself writing it down.

Okay, the harder bit, the Destiny number. She gulped and started writing down.

"Right," Melissa spoke, finishing Alexandrie's Destiny number. "I think that is it," she spoke unsure if that was correct. "So, this is your life and Destiny numbers 5 and 9," she spoke showing her the text in the book.

"Are you really a Black?" Adelyn asked, in complete surprise. "That's so cool. I've never actually met anyone from my Black side of the family, so this is actually really awesome." She laughed, then looked at the calculations Phyre had made. Pulling out her own parchment, she began making the calculations for Phyre.

Adelyn went back and double checked all of her work; it appeared to be right. She looked to Phyre and said, "So, your Destiny Number would be three, and your Life Path Number four."

Delilah looked around the room. No partner. Great.

Libriana raised her hand. "Umm Professor what exactly are we doing?" She asked not fully understanding the assignment.

Alexandrie lifted her eyebrow at her numbers, she agreed with the last one. She wanted to be a healer. She nodded her quill working writting quickly muttering sometimes to herself.

"Your Life Path Number is 6 and.." Alex spaced as she finished

"Your Destiny Number is 1 if i'm correct which I think I am."

Alex hoped she was correct, although she was good with numbers she was better at potions..but numbers and potions went hand in hand..

She giggled a little when he had said oranges. Responses to random questions were always funny. She felt like she was blushing too, when he held her hands. He took his away and she felt the hot sensation in her cheeks tone down. She wanted to answer his latest question, but Selena had walked in. She waved to her as the two got acquainted.

Opening her mouth, she was going to say something, but the teacher had yelled, almost directly at them. 19 points! She thought. That was ridiculous! I guess we were a little too loud. I'll just finish the conversation after class. She frowned as she took out her things and tried to keep up. Kenna hated numbers, so Arithmancy wouldn't be a slice of pie for her.

She found another girl, about her age. She walked over to her, seeing as she already knew Selena and Santi. "Hi, I'm Kenna, can we be partners?" She asked, she hoped this girl would be good, and help her out, because she was lost.

Simon looked at the only girl. "Okay I'll try and do it but who know if I'll do it right." Simon giggled, he was enjoying the lesson even if he was finding it so confusing and hard.

Well that was one written down and boy was his hand starting to hurt. "I think that's right." Simon smiled this was the easiest part of the lesson so far.

"EEK" Simon was sure there was something wrong with that, but wasn't going to say anything. "I think I did it." And with that he did a little dance of excitement.

Delilah looked up and smiled. "I'm Delilah. I'd love to be partners. I have to warn you though. I'm not sure if i'm doing it right. I think so, but not sure."

Selena smiled at Libriana. "Hey Libriana, wanna be partners?" Selena asked. "If you don't have one already... of course," Selena said quickly. She wasn't sure if she had a partner or not yet.

William grinned as he placed his own parchment in front of him, looking in his bag for an extra quill in case his broke, which normally happened in times when he got frustrated. "Oh right. it's December..." crud when was his birthday again? He never really cared much for it, never having had enough friends to have a fun time. hmm did that make him lame? Nah he was just too cool for friends. Yeah that was it. "December 10th, 2057." he finally replied proudly.

"All right!" said Emma. Emma started writing down her interpretations:
Expression number is nine- you are strong minded and love to have your opinion heard, though you do listen to others to. This means that you are a quiet leader.
Life Path is seven- You are going to have a happy, long life, surrounded by those who love you. You are going to have a profession that you love and you will find your right person.

Sapphyre nodded, checking Adelyn's work with her hands as she talked. "Yeah, I'm a Black," she replied, shrugging. "There's another Slytherin in my year who's related to us. I've seen a few others around Hogwarts, though I don't remember them all that well. My cousin, a Prince, is in Gryffindor, first year. That's what you are, also, right?" Then, the conversation branching off, she nodded. "You've got both of them correct. See? Not so hard. Now, for the meanings..."

She pulled out her textbook and flipped through the pages. "Your Life Number, five... it means that you'll have many forks along your path and you'll welcome each change as a new opportunity with unknown results. Change is key and once you've learned this lesson, you'll move on to the next phase - championing freedom. You're progressive and super-resourceful, which make you equally good at many different trades. Career/vocation options include working with the public, advertising, publicity, or sales - any kind of work that calls for energizing power rather than routine. Travel is well-suited to you." She finished reading from the book and nodded to Adelyn.

"Now, your Destiny Number, nine... Here. It says, 'Your mission in life is to perfect and love unconditionally. Your purpose is to strive for universal brother-/sisterhood, using your humanitarianism, responsiveness, and healing art. Learning to transform and heal and being receptive and forbearing will bring you closer to your destiny. You're destined for broad horizons. Reach out and help someone.'"

Evan looked around. Why did he miss this kind of stuff in Arithmancy? And he really listened to the class! With a shake of his head, he asked "Anyone needing a partner?.." It looked as if everyone had found one. Pout. What was he going to do now?

'Sounds good!' said Maddie, looking at Emma's interpretations 'Mine was about me being a responsible person who people came to for advice, and how I'm going to find the right balance between giving and recieving. And the other one was about me being caring, and wanting to help others when I grow up, a s acareer. I guess that's true, since I want to become a teacher or lawyer...'

Josey saw a boy who, like her, didn't have a partner. She wished they could partner up with people they knew, so she could go with annabelle. But it was a good chance to make friends...or aquaintances. "Hi," she said to the boy. "Want to be partners?"

Lila looked around feeling small....and lonely. Everone already had partners, but she still needed one. She hoped there was at least one person who would be her partner.

Annabelle saw a girl who didnt have a partner. She didnt have a partner either, and she wanted one. she walked over to the girl. "Hi, want to be partners?" She asked the girl. She NEEDED to pass this class. She gave herself HIGH expectations.

Ugh. Band is a life-sucker sometimes.
 

Abby finished her notes and looked around. Yep, arithmancy. Lotsa math. But no matter. "Anyone still need a partner?" she asked. At least it was interesting math.

"Awesome!" exclaimed Emma, "I really want to be an Auror or a Healer when I graduate."

Kenna laughed, "Nice to meet you." She took a seat next to her. "So I guess, we add up our birthdays, and our names?" She looked at the board. Numbers were swarmed and grouped on it. She grumbled

Evan heard someone refer to him, and turned around to see a Hufflepuff. Not quite the partner he had in mind. They weren't tha outstanding in classes, and he wanted someone outstanding to gain more house points. Whatever. Like they could get house cup this year, with every single professor deducing house points from Slytherin. He nodded with a warm smile. Although he didn't want to work with a Puff, what option did he have at this time? He should as well be polite now to his partner. Looking at her again, she wasn't no older than a secondie. Perfect. Just his luck.

"I'm Evan Cartwright." he said, holding out his hand. It was a class, but if they were to predict each other, they should meet properly. "And you are?"
