"Umm, anyone want to be my partner," Jackie asks.

Nordic Witch 05-13-2010 11:50 AM

Roxanna nodded and then took another parchment to begin working out the calculations for Cela's life path and destiny numbers.

Quote:

Celandine Eleodie Toussaint
353154955/536495/263111952

(3+5+3+1+5+4+9+5+5)+(5+3+6+4+9+5)+(2+6+3+1+1+1+9+5 +2) =
(40) + (32) + (30) =
(4+0) + (3+2) + (3+0) =
(4) + (5) + (3) = 12

1+2 = 3

Expression number = 3

---------------------------

July 25 2054
07/25/2054

(0+7) + (2+5) + (2+0+5+4) =
(7) + (7) + (11) =
(7) + (7) + (1+1) =

7 + 7 + 2 = 16 =
1+6 = 7

Life path number = 7
Roxanna finished her calculations and then went through them again to make sure she hadn't done any errors because with math it was so easily done. Satisfied she waited until Cela was done before asking "So do we interpret the numbers now or do we wait for Professor Hadley?"

Victoria gulped, her eyes flickering around to find a partner. Why did it have to be someone I didn't know...? She let out a sigh.

Etoile noticed a girl her age looking around for a partner as well. She walked to where she sat alone.
"Hey, wanna team up? I'm Etoile, Etoile Mouchard."

Which meant she was going to sit there until someone wanted to partner with her, because there was no way she was willingly going to get up and introduce herself to someone she probably wasn't going to speak to the rest of her life. Unless...that someone was someone she knew. But, did the professor know if she was friends with Destiny? No, she couldn't. Unless she automatically knew they were friends.

Eh. Best not to risk it.

Looking at the board, Evelyn wrote down what was written up there, into her notebook so she had an example to go by for later use. Only 2044? Well, no wonder the Professor didn't look nearly as old as some other professors.

Partner up with someone you don't know? Oliver made a face – so no Shoe!Girl then. Damn.

He looked around expectantly at the other students to see that the swot of a Head Girl/Ravenclaw was already taken - by none other than Roxxy! Heh. The crafty little Lion. Celandine would have made a good partner. Nevermind. Now.. who else looked smart?

His gaze came to rest on a younger girl from his own house – one that he saw around the school all the time, but had never had any reason to speak to. She was writing stuff down - maybe she was smart. He shrugged, stood, and wandered over. “Hey...” Little Miss No Name. “... need a partner?” Grin.

After writing down in her notes: The name Arithmancy is derived from two Greek words – arithmos (meaning number) and manteia (meaning divination). Arithmancy is thus the study of divination through numbers. Emma turned to Maddie, "Hey Madddie do you want to be partners?" asked Emma.

"Theres a spelling mistake there." Cela pointed out quietly. "My middle name is Elodie, E-L-O-D-I-E." She looked over things. "But it doesn't look as if it effected the calculations."

Roxxy was good at this. Good thing too, because Cela often made teeny little icky mistakes herself. She double checked her calculations again.

"We get to interpret them now."

We would still need a partner! :D

Wait...WHAT?! They had lost 19 points?! Seriously?! Even though her first reaction was to glare at the new professor - what was her name again? Hadley? - somehow Nancy did understand her action. They had been chatting again! GUH! She would have to talk to Raiden and Oliver about this...there had to be a way to keep them from losing points to all those chatty and misbehaving fellow Slytherins. Meh.

Though, as the lesson started Nancy's mood improved once again enormously. This was Arithmancy after all. Squee! And even though this was mainly revision it was still soooo exciting and awesome and it was her last year and- Sniff. Her last year...her last year of Arithmancy. Cue small pout.

As Professor Hadley told them to pair up Nancy automatically looked for one of her friends, soon her eyes flickered back to the professor again though as she ordered them to partner up with somebody they didn't know. Oh, well, this was going to be awesome either way. "Anybody still need a partner?" The 17 year old beamed at her classmates expectantly with her quill in hand.

Etoile dipped her quill into her ink pot and started scribbling.
V-I-C-T-O-R-I-A / A-N-N / R-O-G-E-R-S
4-9-3-2-6-9-9-1 / 1-5-5 / 9-6-7-5-9-1

Ann = 10+1=11= 1+1 = 2
Rogers= 10+20+7 = 37 = 3+7 = 10 = 1+0 = 1
= 10 = 1+0 = 1
"So Victoria, Your Expression number is one, And hold on.."
She carried on calculating.

01+12+2060 = 0+1+1+2+2+0+6+0 =1+3+8 = 12= 1+2 = 3

Etoile handed Victoria her parchment. "And your life path number is three!"

Expression number = 1
Life path number = 3

Arya listened to the four vollunteers tell about thier number thingys, whatever. She may have been daydreaming through two of those mini speaches. A mistake she instantly regreted when hearing that they had to calculate someone else's numbers. Sighing at the fact she couldn't use anyone she knew, Arya looked around for someone who didn't have a partner and spoted an older Slytherin. Older was better, hopefully it meant she knew how to do this nonsense. Walking over to the girl she smiled softly. "I'll be your partner."

Madeline Amelia Force
13145129145 11351291 5151835
(12+1+4+5+12+9+14+5)+(1+13+5+12+9+1)+(5+15+18+3+5)

(6+2) + (4+1) + (4+6)=
(8) + (5) + (10) = 23
2+3=5
Expression number = 5

---------------------------

January 15 2060
01/15/2060

(0+1) + (1+5) + (2+0+6+0) =
(1) + (6) + (8) = 15
1+5=6

Life path number = 6

She looked at Maddie and told her, " your Expression number is 5 and Life Path number is 6"

"Thank you, Professor," Gold beamed at Professor Hadley again, before sitting back down, and eyeing her textbook a bit.

She liked being the Life Path Number.

It made her feel all rawwr.

"One more thing before you go ahead and calculate the Destiny and Life Path Numbers. I want you to each partner up with someone you do not know at all or very well. I don't want to see best friends or significant others be partners. And I want you to exchange names and birthdates and calculate each others' numbers." Why? Because it is easy to calculate your number and make it fit for you, but calculating someone else's is a whole different ballpark. "Any questions, please ask me."
Niice. Gold looked around, spotted Nancy, and would have asked her, but someone else beat her to it. She gave an inward shrug, and looked around again. Now, who could she partner up with?

Surely, there must be someone here whom she did not know, and who had yet to partner up. Cue tiiiny frown.

Quote:

Arithmancy is the study and application of numbers to you, your personality and your life. The four master numbers are:

The Life Path Number - The Life Path Number is an element of the core that tells you both the road you will follow throughout your life and the talents and abilities that will help you along this road. This number tells you what you can depend upon to find success in the world. Note that while other people may share the same number, it is the combination of all your numbers that will explain how to proceed down this road of life. My life number is 6, which means I am sympathetic and caring, so others seek me out for advice. I will live responsibly and achieve balance between giving and recieving. Career/vocation options include any job in the service industry where I can make life more comfortable, easy, and luxurious for others, including medicine, decorating, beauty products, training animals, teaching, and counseling.

The Expression/Destiny Number - The Expression Number, also known as the Destiny Number, is an element of the Core that describes your life's purpose, what you must live up to in this lifetime, your opportunities for success, the qualities and manner of living you must develop, what you are destined for, the target you are aiming for in life, and the kind of work that would be a natural expression of your Life Path. My Expression Number is 2, which means my mission in life is to engender harmony. My purpose is to seek cooperation, find balance, and be a patient tean player - all to develop my sense of relationship. I am destined for peacemaking.

Jessica 05-13-2010 12:55 PM

Maxo!

Xylon grinned as the 'Numbers' came up and explained. Creative! He also had an answer for Professor Hadley but he would give it to her later. Didn't want to disturb the class right now. Maybe he could pay her a visit in her office. The seventh year leaned back in his chair and looked around. Of course his obvious choice for a partner was some pretty girl.

....... and of course that girl had to be Gold.

"Fire." He smirked at her. "Want to partner up?" Come to think of it he didn't even know her middle name. Because of course the only thing he knew about her was that she was always super annoyed by him and would punch him if she felt like it. Though she probably wouldn't now. In class.

So he had taken his chance.

Lislchen 05-13-2010 12:57 PM

No, I don't think so...:D

Nancy beamed at the approaching younger Hufflepuff girl excitedly. Yes, now they could finally start. "Awesome! I'm Nancy. Nancy Hudonson." And she decided the whole Prefect thing was not important right now as she wouldn't need it for the calculations...besides the badge was probably quite obvious too. Hehe.

Now, what else? Right...her birth date. "I was born on December 2nd, 2053." Whoa, she was soooo old already. "You better right that down, by the way." Nancy inclined her head towards the girl's parchment before shifting her parchment slightly so she could write on it properly. "What's yours?" Cue expectant grin. This was sooo awesome!

Destiny 05-13-2010 01:05 PM

What the?

Evelyn was being..Destiny?

This put a confused look on the REAL Destiny's face. How in the world was she going to do that? Shaking her head at the question Evelyn asked, she shooed her off with her hand to the front of the classroom. No. There was NO way she wanted Evelyn to tell her middle name. That was mean of her friend to even think that. They all can't be blessed with a normal middle name like Rose, pffft.

Ohhh. Evelyn was not going to be Destiny. She was going to be some sort of number..or something. Tilting her head to the side, she pictured Evelyn up there in front of the class looking like a ginormous number six. Why that number? Because it was funny looking.

Not really understanding ANYTHING that was being said, she clapped along anyway when the Professor asked for a round of applause. That was something Destiny knew how to do. She had to refrain from leading from her chair, and giving a nice and loud whoooop! It was hard, but she had managed. Hmm. Now they needed a partner. Of course her first choice would have been Evelyn, but she needed to partner with someone she didn't know. Glancing around the room, a big ole' smile plastered on her face, she looked around expectantly at everyone. No takers?

But look at that SMILE!

Pfffft, would Professor Hadley believe her if she said she knew everyone?

Cedric retrieved his seat and carefully listened to the professor's further instructions. He was really having fun at the class. It was just going so smooth and all. Though, well, he had to admit that it was like he was a first year again but what could he expect? they were studying the 'basics' after all.

And now they needed to be partnered again and he didn't like partnering with people and the pain would be doubled since they should be partnered with people they didn't know. Shrug.

Looking around, he scrutinized each of his classmates' faces in order to know which one he didn't know because really, he knew almost every people around or at least, by their first names and looks. And then there was the Slytherin girl who he usually see with Evelyn. Assuming that she didn't have a partner to torture yet, he quickly walked toward her with a crooked smile.

"Hey. You. I don't know you. Can we be partners?"
Truth be told he didn't know the girl's complete name but he did know the girl's first name... Destiny. And it sounds feisty and Destiny and feisty even rhymes together! Hehe.
