"I know it's hard sometime to make new friends. You just have to jump in there with both feet and talk to everyone. Thats what I did." Kay said smiling at her. "Thats how we became friend. I just went for it."

"Yeah I guess so", said Ginny with a smile on her face. "I think I'm better now from you Kay", said Ginny confidently.

"Oh, well thank you." Kay said shyly. "I'm not every good at talking to people. But I'm getting better and once we are friends I'm very protective." She said pouring them all more tea. "So when we are done here, what would you like to do?"

Once Kay said that she was very protective it maded Ginny braver. She was a Gryffindor after all. Kay was a Hufflepuff. Very loyal, brave and kind to Ginny. "Um... do you want to go down to the Black Lake?", said Ginny.

"Bet he didn't expect that to be the end result of his little prank," said Kiri with a smirk. She half-hoped that Peeves was still around to see that instead of creating a minor diplomatic incident between Slytherin and Ravenclaw, he'd actually forged a friendship. Not that she really thought he was here, in the kitchen; knowing Peeves, he'd probably buzzed off to menace a poltergeist-free area of the castle as soon as he'd slipped the potion into Kiri's and Mina's drinks.

In fact, maybe he was looking for more students to sneak some Camaraderie Concoction into.

Munching on a final cookie, Kiri entertained the vision of lots of new and exciting friendships popping up all over Hogwarts, aided and abetted by Peeves - she'd have to take a close look at everyone in the morning. Speaking of which... "I think I'd better go to bed soon," she said, stifling a yawn. She smiled at Mina, not without irony. "Erm... nice to have met you!" Grabbing another two cookies out of the bag so she wouldn't starve on the long march from the kitchens into the dungeons, Kiri got up. She waved at Mina, then turned around.

Violet finally reached the kitchen. She fell again for the millionth time, so she started to crawl. "Woah this place is like a dream or something" said Violet. She could see bright lights which probably wasn't normal. All the falls especially the one down the stairs got to her head. She crawled around and said "Look at those pretty birds flying" She started to illousonate.

"What would be great. Do you have a winter Cloak?" Kay asked standing up. "I have to go get mine, and I will meet you there." She said Waiting for a answer from her new friend. This year was going great.

"WOAH! Thats a person!" said Violet as if shes been in a cave for a million years and never saw anyone. She pointed at Kay.

Kay turned and saw Violet. "What are you on about?" She asked looking at her. "Are you going to start something?"

Violet giggled and pulled out a notepad and a quill out of her pocket. She scrolled down She can talk. "Im not sure. Im just admiring those birds." said Violet pointing up to nothing but to her were birds flying. "Then I saw a person and it was you!" said Violet excitedly

Lina alit her way there, and carefully watched Violet, still remaining silent and hidden. Oh man, please don't go upsetting anyone else... And where were all the older kids? Why was she the oldest one there? She was only a 4th year! A 4th year that lives on her own and experiments on others, remember? Oh yeah...

Violet continued to crawl, while waiting for Kays reply. She saw that the bright lights had a path. "Ooooh" she said and the followed the path. The path ended and she looked up. She saw brightly colored hair, but reconized it, it was... Lina. "This isn't a dream anymore it turned into a nightmare!" yelled Violet. Violet jumped back which led to her falling on the hard floor. She quickly got back in crawling position and started crawling frantically around the kitchen.

What the? What was that girl... Then, their eyes met and the girl freaked out, startling Lina. She stumbled backward and landed hard on her butt. "Ow," she muttered, wincing. "Dang it..." She gingerly got back up, rubbing her behind. This was turning out just splendedly. She moved into the doorway since she was caught anyhow, hoping it would at least keep the girl from leaving. "I need to do something, I need to get help or something..."

She stepped back and drew her wand. "Okay, um... I know this, I know this..." With a wave into the hallway she whispered, "expecto patronum." Nothing.

She began shaking the wand with both hands as through strangling it. "Go patronus, go!" ... Nope.

Violet hid under a table, clutching one of its legs. She rocked back and forth. "W-what are y-you doing h-here?" she asked frightened. Then she saw the birds fly towards her. "Hullo birdies how are you today?" she asked and gave a little bow.

Evelyn gasped. "Gin! You haven't told me that you lived in Australia for a while. So did I! I mean, I've had to move around a lot, but I spent almost 5 years there." Evelyn silently agreed about the hot weather not being very pleasant. She much preferred the weather here. "I grew up in Surrey, but we live in Somerset now," she added with a smile.

When Kay mentioned her parents being killed, Evelyn felt a little guilt that she had such a big, happy family, while Kay didn't have her parents anymore. Evelyn didn't say anything though. Maybe they could talk about it when they knew each other better. Talking about something like that involves a lot of trust.

Evelyn was a bit nervous to go back to the lake after all the nightmares she had had about it, but she wasn't going to let her silly fears get in the way of making a new friend. "I'll go put something warm on. Do you need to run up to Gryffindor tower to get your cloak too, Ginny? Do you want me to come with you?"

She sighed and tucked her wand away. "Because you very likely have a concussion, your behavior seems to be unusual, and I'm your senior by two years with healers as guardians. Combine that with the fact that the potion that you ingested won't wear off for probably another hour, which I had brewed, I am responsible for anything that happens to you." She paused a moment, squirming a bit in embarressment. "And... I was worried about you. Am worried about you."

Ginny looked at Evelyn and she looked a bit scared but she just said "I've got my cloak in my bag. I'll meet both of you too down at the Lake", she said as she took off.

Kay looked around and saw nothing. "What bird's? Are you sure your alright?" Kay asked. She didn't really like the way Violet was acting, but Kay and violet were not friends. "Ok, You just sit here and watch the birds. I don't know if your up to something or just sick. Be careful." Kay said and turned to leave but made sure she watch violet out of the corner of her eye. Never turn your back.

"Look guys if you would like to go somewhere else we can." Kay said think that Evelyn didn't want to. She watched them leave and thought that when they got there they could alway go somewhere else.

"Those birds!" said Violet pointing to once again nothing.Then she clapped her hands when she thought one did a cartwheel. "Ive never seen anything like them before. Those bright lights really bring out the color in them." she said nodding.


Violet turned to Lina. "Actually the only person that is responsible for me is me." she said. Then turned tot he birds and said "I know right how can this day get any worse. By the way your colors are very pretty."

Her colors... what? She blushed a little at that, rubbing the back of her head. "Um... thank you." She shifted a little bit considering what to say next. "And I know... We're all really responsible for ourselves, but I still don't want anything bad to happen to you. I mean, I know the others girls didn't care much so long as you were quiet, but I know that with the concussion and everything something could go really wrong, and I don't want it to."

"How can you not want anything bad to happen to me? You barely even know me. Why won't you just back up to the dorm with the others?" she asked. She started crawling again around the kitchens.

"I dunno. Maybe because I was raised by healers. It's part of why I got so deeply into potions. And there... you never know anyone who's come in hurt or in trouble... and regardless of who they are, you help them to the best of your ability. Because my guardians are like that, maybe I'm like that too." She shrugged.

"Besides, no matter how I tried to defend myself up there, the truth is you were under the influence of my potion when you fell off the bed and got hurt. So it's my fault. I just didn't like that they thought I was some silly kid who was throwing things together in a cauldron and calling it a potion. I put hours and hours of research and trials into each one. Actually, I spent so much of my first three years here just studying and researching and experimenting that I had a lot of great potions, but I didn't know anyone. Well, I met Raiden at the end of school last year, but that's it."

"Let me clear this up, Its my fault all of it. So now since we know its my fault you can go up to the dorm." replied Violet. She kept crawling around then she thought the birds started tickling her, she started bursting out laughing.

"That does not excuse the fact that you are hurt, and..." The girl had burst out laughing, and Lina had to pause a moment. It was a serious matter after all... but a funny sight! "And I just want to be around in case there are any complications that arise. What would happen if you were alone and suddenly something went wrong and you couldn't get help? You don't have to talk to me or anything, you know. I can sit right here and write in my notebook. Well, maybe get something to eat..." Though, even as she said it, she tucked her traitorous wand away and pulled out a bag of candy and ate a small piece of the brightly-colored stuff.

"I don't care I could defend myself." replied Violet as she stopped laughing. She thought about what she should. Then at that moment one of the birds swooped down and whispered "Escape. Go somewhere else" Violet nodded. She crawled to the very back where know one could see her. Wondering what she should do next she just waited for the birds to come towards her.
