"No, thanks." Chocolate would only make her break out at a time like this. She sighed taking a bit of her fruit-topped cheesecake. It was delicious. She gave Carter a look and smiled. He understood that all to well. "Yeah mom cut us off a few years back. We were getting a bit batty with all the sugar and it was driving her crazy." He got serious and straightened himself up. "But we are allowed some sugar in moderation." he mimicked his mother's voice with a giggle.

He grew quiet. He didn't know anything about Oliver's mother, but it seemed to be a sore subject for Oliver and though Diggy wanted to know about her he didn't want to upset Oliver in the process. "Oh alright," he told him dropping the subject. After all Diggy wasn't a stranger to getting defensive about his family.

Diggy tilted his head at the face Oliver made. He didn't understand why he was making that face. "I mean I don't have to put in a good word for you. Granddad knows who you are, and he's not a prat like my grandmother." he explained. His grandmother Afia wasn't well liked in the Greenwood household, she didn't like Nathan, his father and to Diggy and his siblings that was unforgivable. "Its not problem for you to get a broom mate. All I mean is you don't have to use me as a middle man. But I will get one for you if you don't want to talk to my granddad. Its really not a problem." He didn't want Oliver to think he was unwilling to get him a broom. Diggy didn't care about the broom. He could buy Oliver one, Diggy just wanted him to know that Oliver didn't have to bother with Diggy to get a broom. Dillon's granddad was more than happy to outfit Oliver with a new broom.

Annnnnd, just like that the smile was wiped from her lips. Melanie just stared down at the strawberries, feeling like the scum of the earth, for even letting the thought cross her lips. Cadence's answer didn't do any good. She'd rather go back to pouting over Nate's existence than let herself realize, the boy hadn't done anything to deserve it. "Okay." was all Melanie said in response, and then she went back to being grumpy...only this time she felt guilty for acting like a jerk about it... Stupid guilt. She didn't know what to think... but she knew wasn't in the mood for strawberries anymore.

"Cadence, I have some homework I need to do... I think I'm gonna go up the common room, kay?" It was spoken like a question, but she didn't wait for a response... Melanie stood up, giving Cadence a small smile, to reassure her she was perfectly fine and dandy...

And then she was off.

She didn't want Melanie to hate Nate... they would probably actually be good friends if they could spend time together. "Oh...okay..." Cadence said sadly, deflating a little as Melanie got up to leave. "I should... go pack or something anyway." And she followed Melanie out of the Kitchen.

"There's no other fight," Phyre muttered. "That's the original one. She was really the one that was fighting with Violet. Everyone else was just brought in as extras. You know, a peanut gallery or something. But my blood has nothing to do with this. My mother is from the Malfoys, and it's not as if either of my parents have given me anything other than life, anyway. I don't think Elizabeth is up to anything, really, but she only needs to be watched for now. She doesn't have any evil intentions at the moment, I think. What could she really say about Jasper? He was cold and distant, calculating and quiet...but not with Marilyn. "Well, he's a lot like my family in many senses. Jazzy was a Slytherin, after all." It may not be safe for you." She said as she stood up. "Do you think there is someone you trust to help you? I will keep and eye out when we are in class, but in your common room it will be up to you." She said walking a round the table towards the door. "I have class in a few minutes and would like to talk to you again. Hope about the in a week. We could have tea again?" Kay said as she watched Phyre for and answer.

Nicoletta walked into the kitchen carefully. "Phyre!" she exclaimed. "There you are! You'll never guess what's happened!" she went on without waiting for an answer. "Violet's goth! And her and Elizabeth are friends now or something cuz they seemed pretty friendly in the common room. I dunno, what do you think?"

Well, they were very similar. Their taste was alike, and their nature too. She had never realized how much of the same interest they both shared. Marilyn was a little torn as to what she should say. Her and Jasper had such a history...but most of the things they had gotten up to had not been for her benefit. Dalanie was hungry and she needed a snack. Maybe the elves would get her something. That or she needed someone sneaky like her to talk to. Yea, it was someone sneaky like her to talk to. When she had tickled the pear and walked in she expected to see no one. But she saw Nicoletta and Marilyn and Carter. She wanted to meet Marilyn bad, but she couldn't get herself to talk to her around Carter.

Just do it, she told herself.

Dalanie walked over. "Hi don't mean to be rude, but I'm Dalanie, she said to Marilyn and Carter. It wasn't that bad. They could scream at her and she wouldn't care. She was screamed at her whole life by her brother, but she was always polite. No matter what Marilyn or Carter did to her she would be polite. She hated to bust in on conversations, but she knew she was going to have to talk to Marilyn someday.

Carter nodded. "Yeah, it does get pretty vicious." he said recalling the championship game last year when he was slammed into the stands. And one time Ella had accidently sent a bludger in his direction. It ended up colliding with his arm.

"Transfiguration is probably my favorite subject this year." Yes, he did say this year. He seemed to change his mind quite often with what was his favorite class. "Have you met the teacher this year? She's a nice little old lady." he said about transfiguration. "You are very good at potions. I'm pretty sure I would have never gotten that love potion right were it not for you."
