Not wanting to upset anyone else, further, he stands back looking at his feet, waiting for the decision to fall. Feeling Anya's hand in his again, comforts him. But it still doesn't make the anger at himself go away.

Why would they need to speak with the headmaster he wonders. This was just a petty problem, not a major one. He wouldn't think they'd need to bother him for it.

Constantine looked at the Hufflepuff who seemed to think that it was perfectly a-ok to intervene on a situation that was not his own. Who did this kid think he was?
"No," he reponded coldly, "you will NOT escort them to the Headmaster's Office. He does not need to be bothered with such trivialities. And YOU," Constantine turned fully to face the Hufflepuff boy, "need to clear away. This isn't a show...they're not animals in a cage. Go on, clear off," he said, wave his hand to shoo the boy away.
He turned back to the two young Ravenclaws and then eyed the burned corn stalks. "Please tell me you were burning those to get people's attention because you were stuck..."

Out of the corner of his eye, he realized the older student the professor had told to leave, moved forward again, and started talking. "Ummm...I wo..." he started to say, but stopped himself. He didn't want to be in more trouble, with the professor.
Amazed at the nerve of the older student, he stares back at the ground. I hope, I'm never that bold. If a professor told me to leave, I'd definitely go. A thought suddenly occurred to him. "Are you lost too?" he asked the older student.

"Now, if I may say what I wish...," he sighed, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Why would I punish you for doing what you did because you got lost? Doesn't that seem a littleee abnormal to you? Not to mention, it would only go to show that I have no heart. But, I do. It's there, I promise. He smiled gently and slipped his hands into his pockets.
It was cold... "I have hot chocolate...and a nice fire...and a dog," he pointed out, "Perhaps you would like to pop into my hut and warm up?"

Looking up at the older boy, boldly he states "Well, the professor told you to leave. I just figured maybe you were lost as well."
"My name is JD Stevenson" he says curtly.
Turning as the professor spoke, he ducked his head. Maybe he had gone too far. Listening to what the professor said, about them having done what they needed to do. He nods, listening carefully.
Looking up he realizes that they weren't to be punished. "Wow, thank you professor!"
Looking at Anya, he nods "That sounds great!" A dog, here at Hogwarts! YAY! he thinks with a smile.
