Jacoby entered the common room. Went to a table and droped his bag on the floor. Homework...Homework was probebly the only part of school he hated, and the fact that when he tried too hard it ended up worse then if he just did his best.
He opened his bag and took out his text book his quill and a roll of Parchment. Lets see if it's as difficult as it was in class.

Copernicus shifted forward in his seat and put his elbows on his knees, his attention intensifying even more, if that was possible. "Liv... I have no idea what you're talking about, you know? I haven't heard a single word about what you did this summer."

He gnawed on his lip before sliding across to put an arm around her. "You can tell me. But honestly, don't you think the stupidest thing you've ever done was being friends with me?"

Smiling at Jules grin, Laura was pleased to see that Jule seemd to forget what Laura had been about to tell her in the Ice Cream Parlour, that day in Diagon Alley. The secret that Laura had been about to reveal had never come out, and Laura was in no mood to say it now. Instead, she sat back in her chair and laughed with Jule as she related the story. It was funny, and she only wished that she'd been there. Oh well, no time for what could have been.

"Haha, that must have been funny," Laura agreed with a nod, picturing the face of the small first years as the smell met their noses. She was laughing hard, and it felt good. To be rid of all the stress and just laugh. "Hey, what if they end up in Ravenclaw, and recognise you?"

Lily walked into the common room and looked around for some friendly people to start talking to.

Zelda sighed and got up from the couch, she couldn't find anyone she knew over there. Walking slowly, she looked around for other lonely looking people. Seeing another third year girl, she smiled and put out her hand.
"Hi, I'm Zelda," she greeted.

Lily looked around seeing a third year coming towards her. "Hi, I'm Lily" (PS I am actually a first year i messed up on the sig! sorry)

Lily entered the comomon room and looked around and saw a fellow first year. "Hi, My name is Lily Adams whats yours?"

Stupid. STUPID her.

But she had to stop wallowing. She didn't deserve to wallow. Sighing, Livvy looked up from her arms and back at Copernicus who seemed to be even more intense than he had been just moments before. She was getting way ahead of herself. The boy was probably lost between her words.

Staring at the arm that he put around her, Livvy ventured a small smile at him and couldn't help but chuckle at what he said next. "Perni... I believe that may have been the smartest thing I had ever done," she said, shaking her head with a small smile.

She could tell him. It was Perni. He'd be able to know what to do next. Right?

Gathering her emotions together again, Livvy looked back at the boy. "Okay. I'll start over again. This isn't easy though," she said, shaking her head. "Um... you know, Rachel Rider? The Ravenclaw Prefect?" Itty bitty steps she'd take.

Keeley sighed. She had really just been sitting there, staring into space. So, she decided to go to sleep. She spotted a door marked girls dormatories, and hurried up the stairs.

Satine hurried into the CR and took her usual seat near the fireplace. She pulled out her pet chinchilla, Gemma, and let the the animal curl up in her lap. She looked around the room to check out all of the new faces as she pet Gemma. She made sure to put on her best and most inviting smile as she glanced around surveying everyone in the CR. As she was looking around, her chinchilla, Gemma, jumped out of her lap and ran over to a corner to grab a crumb off the floor. Satine jumped up quickly so she could keep an eye on the chinchilla as she scurried across the room.

Kel was looking down, shaking his head at a piece of parchment as he entered the common room. He went all year last year without one letter from his mother or father, and it was only the beginning of the new school year and already he had a letter from his mother. A rather pointless letter, too. As he walked past the fireplace, he had an urge to toss the letter into the flames, but decided against it, not wanting to receive a howler when his mother realized that Kel wasn't going to write her back. So, he'd have to send a letter back to her sometime soon.

These thoughts went through Kel's head as he walked across the room, and as he folded the letter and placed it in a pocket for safe-keeping, he looked down and stopped short. He'd almost ran over a chinchilla! But not just any chinchilla - Gemma! That meant that Satine was close by. Kel's head whipped up to search the room, and, sure enough, there was the second year Ravenclaw who was unofficially Kel's little sister. "Satine!" he exclaimed, taking a few hurried steps toward the girl while hoping that his shout hadn't been too loud.

Satine was startled as she...first saw someone almost step on Gemma...and then second heard a yell of her name come from above those feet. As this was all registering she had already begun running over to Gemma's rescue and as she ran, she traced the body from the feet to the face. When she reached the chinchilla, she realized with great excitement that the yelling and voice was from Kel. She snapped her fingers and Gemma crawled up her leg and rested on her shoulder and tucking her face in Satine's dark purple hair knowing that she was in trouble.

"Kel!" Satine yelled and gave him her usual hug hello. She instantly noticed though that Kel wasn't his usual self. "So, what's going on....you have a look like you just ate a booger flavored jelly bean." she said scrunching up her face and making a horrible face to show him what that might look like.

As she waited for his reply, she grabbed Gemma and put her into the Chinchilla's purple carrying bag.

"Cela should be Ravenclaw Prefect," Cope said immediately before giving Livvy a sheepish grin. Did he really say that thought out loud? Bad Copernicus!

"I mean... I know who she is. I've seen her. I wouldn't say that we've officially met. What about her? Just go ahead and say it."

Kel's mouth stretched into a smile as he returned the hug with one arm. As he stepped away from Satine, he noticed the animal on her shoulder, and couldn't stop a small laugh that escaped. He opened his mouth to start small talk with Satine, but thankfully she said something before he could. He laughed shortly and humorlessly, but his smile came back into place when Satine showed him what his face must've looked like only moments before.

"Oh, it's not really a big deal," he said, dismissing it with a one-shouldered shrug. "My mother's trying to be all parental." He patted the pocket the letter was in absentmindedly as he said this. "She found out I was in Ravenclaw over the summer and she wasn't too happy. I guess she thinks that if she sends me letters I won't be able to keep any more secrets from her." he shrugged again.

...Pause. "But anyway, what about you? Glad to be back?" At this question, he smiled a bit bigger because he was surely glad to be back.

Satine was happy to see Kel's happy face again even if she thought it was a forced one for the moment. She followed his hand to his pocket with her eyes and understood that there was a letter in there that he was less than excited to have. Knowing that Kel already knew she was mischievious, she commented, "Well, I think the best solution is write down everything that you do every hour of the day...kind of like a play by play...and send it to her every day." she finished with a shrug of her shoulders and playful grin. "Here, we can start now," as she reached into her bag and pulled out a piece of parchment and a pink pin...."You could tell her you almost stepped on a chinchilla in the CR." she ended with a giggle and a sarcastic tone.

"I am soooooo very much excited to be back...you know me...I'm a big nerd so I'm excited to be back in class and doing homework, but I'm def excited to be back with friends." she said looking into Kel's eyes..."And I guess I'm happy to see you on an almost daily basis." she said with sarcasm in her voice to let him know that she was picking on him.

She glanced around the CR and instantly noticed some of the firsties...motioning that direction she said, "Well, did I look that lost and scared last year...and well that little?" she didn't remember being that little eventhough it had only been a year.

It was strange that Sabrina was being unusually quiet, but it was also a nice change for Samson. Besides, such was her way of acting when she was thinking too much. It was up to him, sometimes, to pull her out of her thoughts to keep her brain from fizzling out. A dysfunctional simply would not do.

Aaand of course, she was so casual to the new kid. So proper, and so kind. Ah well. She was a girl, and not much was to be expected from them. Plus, she hated Gavin to the bone, so it was apparent that his antics weren't likely to be adapted by her. Heh.

Looking around, he noticed the Common Room filling with more and more people by the minute. He couldn't help but think about Issy a little. If they happened to run into each other here and now... well, that would be awkward and embarrassing. Ugh. He needed to make things right as soon as possible. One last sweep across the room and he noticed the girl he was talking to at the feast, Satine, was it? Ah well. She seemed busy enough with other people.

He turned to the girl called Beck, and was surprised by her lack of annoyance, and instead her tolerance of the joke. How nice. She was one of the few girls he and Gavin had joked, who had never snubbed them. Samson was pleased at this. "Welcome to the crew, Beck," he said with a smirk. It was admittedly more fun when the jokee was annoyed, but this was a good change. Kinda.

It seemed like there were a lot of changes. Were these the things one noticed when on his last year at Hogwarts? Aww.

"That's okay. We're 7th years, and we've limited our circle of friends to just the friends of our friends and we never go out and mingle," he said matter-of-factly, like it was something normal and something to boast of. Well, Samson was okay with it. Sabrina, though, he was not entirely sure of.

Beck smiled. "Thanks, I appreciate it." She was enjoying spending time with some people for a difference. And they were very nice, so she knew she was in good hands.

Becca nodded, "I see. Well that makes a lot of sense, seeing as this is your final year here. I would probably be more focused on my studies, rather than making friends." At the thought that her new friends would be leaving afteer this year, Becca internally saddened a bit. Oh well, they could keep in touch and there would always be another friends to make.

Annabell slowly walked in to the common room. This was daunting.

"I know no-one!" she thought. "Someone pleeease speak to me!"

She frowned but then noticed how magnificent this room was. Outside were the picturesque mountains and above her head was a beautifully painted ceiling.

The room was getting busy. She needed to find a space to sit and relax. Maybe someone would talk to her then!

... Blink. Who whaat?

Livvy chuckled and shook her head at the boy. Already he was thinking about the girl. It was like a match from heaven. The two were cute together. Always knew that something had been blossoming, ever since her fourth year. She was rather sharp about these things. "Cela would make a great Ravenclaw Prefect. That's for sure," Livvy agreed, nodding her head.

Riiight... so back to her summer.

Venturing a small smile, she allowed herself to relax and lean back against the couch. "She's my best friend. Excluding you of course. You're one of my best friends too. But anyway. I've known her for a looong time and well... recently she got a boyfriend." At that, Livvy threw Copernicus a sideways glance.

Bonnie walked into the common room and took a cozy seat by the fire.
Just then the fire spit.
Bonnie stopped herself from screaming.
She calmed herself down and looked around for Vicky.

"Yeah?" Copernicus tilted his head. So far... not a major dilemma, unless Livvy was jealous of her friend now spending all her time with some new person. That didn't make her as... awful as she'd implied.

He rubbed the top of her head with his palm. "You're one of my best friends too. You don't like this boyfriend?"

Uncomfortable. Uncomfortable. Uncomfortable.

Livvy fidgeted with her fingers nervously, laying them on her lap as she continued to try and pluck up the courage and just tell him. But she was afraid of what the boy might think. Righteous... generous... right doing... smart... Copernicus... what would he say to what horrible and un-loyal thing that she had done to her best friend of five years? Would he put up his hand and go all 'talk-to-the-hand' on her? Would he freeze her out too?

Stop freaking out, Olivia Zhang. Livvy told herself, in her mind.

"Yeah... no. I don't like this boyfriend. I'm not even so sure why though. That's the thing. Sure we got off on the wrong foot in the beginning when we first met and he was rather rude... but... I don't know what about him just ticked me off," she said, confused and still unsure of it all.

What about this guy made Livvy despise him so much? What? What was it? Livvy could only hope that Copernicus would be able to share his amazing knowledge and shine it down on her.

Her hand crept up to her face and twisted a strand of her black hair around her finger, as she pondered for a moment. "Reid... her boyfriend. Ex-boyfriend, I guess? I'm not sure anymore. But well... he's what you call a you know... a 'celebrity'," Livvy said, holding up her hands to perform the air quotes. Not that it was necessary.

"And well..." she continued. "He invited Rachel to come along to Los Angeles and Paris because he's shooting a film, I think. And well Rachel invited me to tag-a-long... and stupid me... said yes," Livvy explained, emphasizing the word 'stupid', because that's what she was. Stupid. Very. Very. Very. Stupid.

"The first few days were just... fine. Until I met this girl. Her name was Sienna and she was one of Reid's co-stars. And when I met her... we began talking... and..." Livvy couldn't help but stop. She had only thought about that moment over a hundred of times and how she could've changed it if she could go back in time. Things wouldn't be the way they were now.

"Liv." Cope tugged on her head a bit so that she was looking up at her. "Remember who I am? Good mate, but also the boy who stole his brother's girlfriend? Whatever you have to say can't be THAT awful. Just... just say it. Rip the bandage right off and get it over with."

Kel snorted in a very unpolite way at Satine's suggestion. "That's actually a great idea. Hopefully if I do that, she'll get bored and stop writing me." He had a feeling that this was what Satine had meant when she had given him the idea. He chuckled at the pink pen she pulled from her bag. "Dear mother," he started, making his letter up as he went along, "today I got your letter, and almost stepped on a chinchilla because I was reading it. That chinchilla belongs to Satine Farris, my adoptive sister that you don't know." He shook his head at his own words. "Not boring enough."

When she called herself a nerd, he looked back at her face and smiled again. "Not a big nerd...just too stereotypical Ravenclaw for your own good," he half-smiled before continuing. At her sarcasm, he rolled his eyes. "You guess?" he repeated, raising one eyebrow. "And to think I waited all summer to see you - and you guess your happy to see me on almost a daily basis?" he shook his head with false-hurt.

"Yes," he answered to her last question, his eyes twinkling with happiness as he teased her. "But that's okay, I'm sure I looked the same way..." he trailed off, following Satine's gaze around the common room. "And that's really sad, because last year I was a third year." he looked back over at her, both eyebrows raised now, silently asking for her opinion on whether he looked like a lost, confused first year last year.

Jenn mumbled softly under her breath, cursing little first years and their big feet...or maybe their big clutzyness, either way, first years were going to get it some day. Why might you ask? Well, we shall tell you. Jenn was just walking down the little corridors when all of a sudden, some first year tripped Jenn, making the floor seem veeeery close. She had never before in her life, done a Rian thing. Yup....a Rian thing included; Tripping, falling, slipping, diving onto the floor, or anything that was, clutzy. Sigh.

So what did she do? She ran up to the CR, hoping that maybe some happy quizing would do her good. It didn't. For the evil little door said her anwser wasn't up to pare with things, and that she should study more. She'd show that door studing....later. Right then she probably would have ripped the book or something....maybe burned it. Or stabed the parchement with her quill. Either way, it wouldn't have been pretty. Nope.

Looking around, Jenn's eyes landed on the blond head of Kel, and the purple head ot Satine, making a reluctant smile come onto her face. She couldn't help it. The fact that Kel was there was a reason to be happy. And Satine made her happy to. Hehe. Walking slowly over to the two people, she sighed and plopped onto the floor, looking up at the two in front of her. "Hello Kel. Hello Satine." Thinking that might not be enough to stop questioning matters, she added, "Is your day going lovely? You two look happy." Unlike her, which her expression was that of disgust, and annoyment, a frown on her face as she glared randomly at little first years, earning one to look at her and start crying, which made Jenn feel bad and stop glaring at them, but to the floor. The floor didn't have feelings...or did it? Maybe it would just randomly start crying too. Now that, would be odd. As Kel contiued to talk to Satine, a slight smile came to her face when he said he probably looked the same way last year. "Saddly Kel, you did look like a lost little first year. No offense."
