Professor Truebridge opened the classroom door and all of the windows so that the room could air out a little bit. With a few flicks of Loretta, the majority of the dust was gone and Ethan spent a moment looking around, spotting his old desk and looking underneath it to see if his name was still carved into the wood.

Yup, there it was. He straightened and headed to the door, leaving and returning after a few moments with a bulging sack which he stashed under his desk up the front.

He took off his shoes and placed them aside, walking over to the door and tapping his wand against it to reveal a message;

Please take your shoes and socks off and leave them at the door.

Barefoot he strode around the classroom, idly moving each desk so they weren't quite straight and not quite facing in the same directions.

Organised chaos.

After a few moments he padded barefoot over to his chair and sat in it, waiting for the students to arrive.

ooc:

The class will open in a few hours... basically whenever I wake up... it will go for about 24 hours or so, giving ample opportunities for everyone to join in.

Posting in the class indicates you have read the rules thread and intend to follow them.

Lima squealed as she heard him mention Chocolate Frogs. Oh boy, she was glad that she had decided not to skip this class!

She focused at the frogs that were leaping all around her and bent forward. She had to get this just right. At the right moment, she leaped forward off of her desk and landed on the floor. She held up her hand, and saw that she was holding a frog in it. She went to see what she had got.

"Oh woooooooow!" This was chocolate frog heaven, Miranda's eyes almost popped out when she saw what the professor had in the bag. Only one frog? Aaargh!

Swallowing, Miranda lowered herself down on the desk, stomach down, and began to try to catch one of those delicious frogs.
"Professor," she puffed, head dangling over the desk, Would it be possible to keep the frog afterwards? You know... like a reward? Maybe it was too much to ask, but for the love of Merlin, it was chocolate!

Spotting a frog that was about to leap, she manouvered the net infront of the frog and it hopped right into the net. Yay!

Miranda grabbed the frog firmly in her hand and raised hersef up again to a sitting position.

Rachel blinked. Catch the frog? Er, ok. Still puzzled but smiling a little, she easily caught the flying chocolate with the net (practice with hand eye coordination with her uncle had done marvels) and carefully lowered herself down to the floor and took a seat. Opening it, she grinned happily as she immediately recognized the witch in the card.

Yes the had definetly been a little dizzy.

Swinging her net around, Evangeline listened quietly to all her classmates' guesses. Wasnt it all so simple? Truebridge wanted their shoes to get stolen so that they had to walk around shoeless for the rest of the day! Hah.

Or maybe not.

Catch flying, bouncy chocolate frogs? WOOHOOO! Even Evangeline, who wasn't exactly a candy fanatic (unless they had coconut in them) could not help but to bounce excitedly at the prospect of catching chocolate frogs. fuuuuuuuun!

Looking over at Clifford when he spoke, she let out a small giggle and nodded her head. "I think he will let us eat it, yes.." She told him with a firm nod, before turning her attention to the Professor who had just released the frogs.

She tried to catch the first one that started flying her way, but she had no Quidditch reflexes and the frog was just too fast so it simply ended up hitting her in the head and scattering to the other side of the room. Eh. STOOPID FROG! Hmpf. Thinning her eyes in concentration, she got ready to the next one and swung her net, capturing it. "Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!" She squealed and immediately proceeded to seat back on the chair to see what she had gotten, to let Clifford have more space to catch his frog and ... well, to avoid accidents, of course.

He pulled out his wand, Loretta and levitated a sack from under his desk.

"I want all of you to catch one of these each. Then take a seat and have a look at what you get."

Professor Truebridge opened the sack and a whole bunch of chocolate frogs bounded out, seemingly faster and more agile than the average chocolate frog. A Famous witch or Wizard card was attached to the bottom of each card.

"Only one frog each please! And stay on your desks and in your own personal space! No popping each other's personal space bubbles with your nets either!" Ethan grinned and watched the frogs scatter everywhere.

Chocolat frogs? Eva's eyes widened. She was fast in catching one, after two failed tentatives. She smiled brightly with the... frog on her hand.
Hum. if the class was all about that, she wouldn't mind.

The answer to the question was far less exciting than he had actually expected, but no matter, they were now getting to attempt to catch chocolate frogs... whilst standing on desks... barefooted... and trying not to invade each other's bubbles. This really was Varius' kind of lesson, in fact if he could be blood related to a lesson, this would probably be it. It was things like this that made Varius' strange ways seems completely normal. The world was one surprising thing.

Anyway, he began waving his net about frantically and violently in the hope that this method would catch him the bounciest of them all. No such luck. At one point he did have one, but it jumped right back out before he could get a hold of it. "Darrrnnnitttt," Varius groaned, feeling, not angered, but inconvenienced.

A couple of more swings, and a bit of a bend and he managed to catch another one... two in fact. He did a quick round of eeny meeny miney mo, before deciding on which frog to keep and released the other to be caught by one of his classmates. He quickly looked at the card he got and was surprised to find it was... Perpetua Fancourt

Juniper’s eyes widened as Professor Truebridge let loose a whole swarm of frogs. Chocolate frogs. Ew. No, not just ew. Double ew. Normal frogs were perfectly fine, but why on earth did they have to be made of chocolate? Juniper suppressed a shudder before moving her feet out of the way as a frog of hideously dark chocolate dove at her toes for shelter. Thank Merlin she had that butterfly net to catch the frog with. She certainly did not want to touch the charmed and probably melty chocolate with her bare hands.

There was a frog. And there, and there, and.. they were everywhere. This time, Juniper could not hide her shudder as she dodged the hopping frogs.

Frog… there! Juniper swung her net at the frog, trapping it on the desktop. Now she had to take the card off? This would be slightly tricky. Juniper gingerly reached into her net and pulled the card free, taking care not to let the frog escape.

Sitting down, Juniper held the butterfly net tightly against her desk to keep the frog from escaping. Then she turned her eyes to the card.

Ok- give the teacher credit.Chocolate frogs was a good way to start the lesson.Jack looked around at everyones excitment for the frogs.One wizzed past Jack and he caught it.He'd never really had chocolate frogs before,but there was always a place to start...

She stood on her desk,with her net,bare foot. The desk was actually very cold and she was starting to feel very dizzy.Heights were just dreadful. Looking up she saw Lima winking at her, all she could do was give her a very nervous smile. 'I'm gonna die.'When she heard the professor talking again,Whit looked at him,trying to keep her balance. "What?" He wanted them to catch a chocolate frog....while on top of a desk? It was just ludicrous. How did this have anything to do with history? Once the frogs were released from the sack she stood there and looked around to see if other students were doing what was asked. They were.

"Here goes nothing." she mumbled nervously to herself. A small chocolate frog found it's way to her desk 'Yay!' Perhaps this would be easy. Or not. Just as it was an inch away from her net,it hopped off of her desk and on to another desk. At least she was still standing. Looking around Whitney saw that she wasn't the only one struggling. 'Just breathe,and catch' If only it were that easy. She saw one hopping up and leaned forward a bit to catch it,almost falling off of her desk. "I don't want to die!" she said out loud without meaning to.

Once she was able to stand again,she balanced herself very still and stared at a frog on the edge of her desk. She sneaked up behind it and.. "I caught it!" Finally. Faster then a jack rabbit,Whitney was sitting down in her seat trying to catch her breath. 'Never again.'

Natka picked up her net from where she had put it on her desk, and narrowed her eyes, looking at all the chocolate leaping around the classroom. her mouth watered; she loved chocolate.

But this isn't the time to think about food, she thought, swinging her net in the hope of catching one of the frogs as it flew by. She failed miserably, almost falling off her desk in the process.

All right, I have to concentrate. Come on, focus, Natka! she told herself, gripping the net handle more frimly in her hands.

Oh, and there came another one, gloriously dark brown in colour, flying across the classroom as if it had wings instead of a magical charm which allowed it to fight gravity. Determination surging through her, the second year threw out her arm just in time...

... and grinned at the sight of the wriggling chocolate frog in her net.

Chase threw off his shoes and slid into the seat. he looked around noticing choclate frogs everywhere. "Whats going on?" he asked the person nearest him. He had whispered it of course so the professor wouldnt be inclined to slap the back of his hand. He must have dosed off or something. He hadnt heard what the professor had said

Tobi bent his knees and prepared himself. He was trying out for the Quidditch Team, blast it! If a Chocolate Frog got the better of him, what were his chances of hitting a bludger? Or worse, catching a Snitch?

Another one of the tricky blighters came bouncing toward him, Aha, !'ll have you yet! Tobi swug zealously, and...

"Aaak!" he pitched forward. "I've got it, I've got! Whoaaa!"

No he didn't. The frog bounced away, and there was more flailing so that he didn't fly off the end of the desk and fracture his skull.

"I ALMOST had it!"

Becca held the butterfly net in one hand, turning it around over and over again subconciously. She kept her focus on Truebridge, scrutinizing his mannerisms and the way he spoke. He... didn't really seem mean, or strict. Or like a loser. He appeared to be pretty chill so far. But he was no Lainey.

As the man gave instructions, she hopped up on her desk eagerly. She had always wanted to do that - more of in a rebellious way rather than being instructed to, but it was fine with her, really. Already, Becca thought this guy was racking up some serious fun points.

Then, as Truebridge continued to explain, the Ravenclaw eyed the sack that was levitating. Her immediate thought was that it was going to be something like potatoes, but she didn't understand why they would need to catch them. When he revelaed the objects in the bag, chocolate frogs, and they began hopping around the room, excitement built in Becca's chest. It was like... being a Seeker and eating her favorite wizarding candy all at once!

Except this situation was a lot more simple than that. Instead of using her hands like she would as a Seeker, she got to use a net. So, in a general sense, she could swing the net and pretend it's a beater's bat... and then the chocolate frog would be in the net, rather than being smacked across the room. Easy.

So, Becca glanced around at the nearby chocolate frogs as they hopped around the room. One came jumping her way. She prepared herself, bending her knees slightly for dramatic effect, then simply swung and pulled the net back to peer into it. There sat a beautiful, scrumptious-looking chocolate frog in the bottom of the net. "Ahh, hello, my lovely." She couldn't wait to eat it.

The leaping things were everywhere – It should have been as easy as a rat chase. But there were people everywhere, too. Oh well, there was hardly a difference between the leaping things and, er, people. Matilda made no attempt to avoid crashing nets with others (and swinging them into other people’s faces). She shot at the chocolate frogs, right, left, and center until she managed to get a hold of one with a swift pivot of her feet. And then… and then… CRASH. She couldn’t stop the net from connecting with someone else’s', and the chocolate frog leaped out with a triumphed chocolaty croak.

“Blast!” Matilda huffed, picking up the fallen net to try again.

Qaz laughed out loud. 'Wonderful!'

As she was in the back of the room, she turned around to face the back wall...thinking it would be easier to get one on a rebound. Calmly, she made sure that she was nicely balanced....the stance for the Warrior Pose would do nicely (who knew that Yoga would come into play in a History class

)

Now it was just a matter of patience.

She could hear all of the racket behind her, but tried very hard to block it out. She still wasn't very good at meditation, which her Shaman never failed to point out, but if she could ignore a rattlesnake, this shouldn't be to difficult.

Her breathing slowed, in and out, keeping time to the tapping of her right big toe. The noise behind her diminished...soon it was like the buzzing of a fly, just an bit annoying. Her breathing was now slow and steady, her knees and hips slightly bent.....ready to pounce...

Qaz caught movement to her upper-right, but it was too far away.

Patiently standing, swaying a centimeter or two, just waiting....

Qaz sensed something coming over her head....

Sure enough, a frog hit the wall about a meter over her head. Quickly, judging the angle of deflection, she made a quick swipe with the net and captured the little bugger. She quickly twisted the net so that her frog couldn't escape, then calmly climbed off the desk and took a seat.

Feeling quite please with herself, she couldn't help but wonder if they would get to keep their frogs....she did like chocolate, after all.....

William watched as the professor explained what they would be doing and let out a whoop of excitment as he saw the swirling mass of frogs come his way. He ducked, his blue eyes bulging with glee as he held onto his net and swiped at a frog that was sort of hovering above him. He caught nothing but air but that wasn't going to stop him. No he wanted his snack; he sort of wondered if this was his stash of frogs that had gone missing, but really now a professor stealing his stash, wasn't going to happen.

His back straight and his mind set on which frog he wanted he swiped the net again, feeling like an tourist in a butterfly nest trying to find that rare butterfly which kept escaping from their mist. Watching as someone took the frog he wanted he pouted but kept at it. Blind swiping seemed to work best it seemed, so closing his eyes he swiped again, feeling nothing but air sweep inside the net. "Darn." he muttered annoyed now as he opened his eyes to see the net staring back at him like a lost puppy.

He looked around, keeping his toes curled around the edge of his desk and swiped at another frog. He missed again and growled slightly as he started swinging wildly. There were going to be no frogs left for him if he kept missing and William Z Cullack hated missing out on a good thing. His eyes narrowed as he saw a chocolate frog coming his way. Bending his knees slightly and ushering in a new dawn of eating frogs he drew his net and caught the frog. It struggled uselessly in his net and he grinned, pumping his fist in exhilaration.

With his new found treasure he carefully took it in his hand, keeping it inside the net in case it decided to do something dumb like run and peered at the card inside.

Evangeline had beaten him to catch a frog? But ... how in Merlin's name had that happened? He was the Quidditch player, not her.. AND she was afraid of heights. Bleh. It was probably because he kept getting distracted. But right now, who could blame him?

His ego wasn't bruised that much, and after an expert swing of his net, Clifford captured one of the bouncy chocolate frogs. WOOHOO! "That's right, come to Papa." He cooed, making a kissy face at the frog as he untangled it from the net. Yummy, yummy for Cliffie's tummy.

Now it all made sense as to why they were on their desks! Savannah was staying perfectly still, one arm crossed under her other until the sack holding something opened releasing a fair amount of animated chocolate frogs for them to catch.

Raising her net quickly, more for protection from the amazingly quick candies zooming around probably trying to find a escape route - if they had brains, that is-, Savannah was careful not to make any swift movements with her feet, not moving so much more than her arms in the first place for fear of tripping ontop of her desk - not something she was going to let happen in class.

"Almost," She said under her breath, just barely missing a brown blurr that went straight over her head, thankfully she missed smacking herself in the head as well. Out of the corner of her eye, Savannah looked to Alexis, sure she had to be enjoying herself - this was right up her alley, they were working with sugary treats. Shifting her attention back to the task at hand, the seventh year waved her net towards her side as a chocolate frog tried racing past, "Got it!" Yesssss. Finally.

This is humiliating! Tobi attacked the air around him with the net like a child having a mild tantrum.

Why [Swing!] can't I catch [Swoosh] a sodding frog [Woosh!] with a sodding net?

"Hey, will you look at that?" Tobi mumured as he looked at his butterfly net. Which now contained a chocolate frog.

Hannah Leigh absentmindedly touched her bare feet. The room was starting to smell terribly now. Eww. She grabbed her net and swung it around. The class was getting very interesting. After a few tries, she had still not caught one. Then, one hopped towards her. She swung it....and missed. Finally, one came into her net.
