Adam opened the door to his classroom and went back to the blackboard. The classroom was set up differently to previous lessons, the big cauldron in the middle of the class missing, as were the student desks.
Instead the chairs were arranged in a big horseshoe shape all facing the board where Adam now stood.

On the board Adam wrote:

Love Potions: Theoretical Class

Rapunzel quietly watched as several Ravenclaws and a few Slytherins got in a heated argument. Hmmm. Several of those Ravenclaws were on the Quidditch team.......hmmm.......they were brewing Love Potions today........hmmm........

She leaned back in her chair so that she could hear the "conversation" a little better, totally forgetting about the focus of the class.

Ryder looked at the Ravenclaw who was trying to defend her friends. "Maybe if your friends didn't open their mouths to questions that were directed at the professor... Then you all wouldnt have to defend eachother for remarks that made you look stupid." He said angrily.

Antwone whispered to both Qaz and Jezz, "Just drop it you two. Their fifth years. They'll wipe the floor with us. They may be gits but show some respect. It was all just misunderstandings. But thank you Jezz."

Antwone smiled to her and turned to the two Slytherins that Qaz and Jezz were arguing with.

"We're all very sorry. It's all been a bunch of crossed wands. Let's just drop it and get back on with the lesson, shall we?"

"No, Antwone." Jezz stood up and walked over to the boy that had called her friends stupid. "You're the one that looks stupid, I don't see any other fifth years arguing with first years." In her pocket her hand gripped her wand, but she knew better than to attack a fellow student.

Qaz just shook her head at the Slytherin that just spoke...she couldn't help but laugh. 'Hey, if the Professor doesn't want to give it to somebody special, that's his business...and I don't think he needs you to stand up for him. ' Then under her breath, she said 'Must not make joke around Slythern...they don't understand humor.'

"Ryder!" Cassandra said looking to the professor, she quickly turned to the Ravenclaws and put a smile on her face. "Please, lets not argue... we're all one big family at this school. I think we all need some love potion..." She said... Gag me... she thought with a smile on her face.

Ryder looked at the boy. "Yeah just a misunderstanding. Don't worry about it then." He looked at the girls. "I didnt mean to get so angry like that. I am sorry." He said sincerely. "Sometimes my temper slips."

He watched as the girl walked over to him. "Truely sorry for the remarks, I get a bit carried away at times." He said moving both hands to the table to show he was not going for his wand.

Rapunzel was almost biting the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing. She didn't like nor dislike Ravenclaws or Slytherins, but was secretly hoping for a duel. It would break up the monotony of Potions quite nicely.....

Jezz sort of smiled at the boy, Then she turned to Antwone and really smiled. "I guess you guys are right." For some reason she had been having emotional outbursts lately.

When listened to the constant out-pour of talk and what-not. She felt mildly bored in the middle of it. Absently, she pulled out the charm of her necklace and twirled it between her fingers.

I haven't talked to Alie in... Forever. It really had been a freakishly long time. She glanced around, making sure that everyone was obsorbed in their own conversation and that Mister D wasn't saying anything. Check. Check.

"Alie," she sang into the charm. "Alie Alie Alison." Whoa. Alison. That was new. "Alllllllie." Rosalie, of course, was very likely busy. Or just not listening. But it was still fun. "Anna Loooooo-oou." Messing around with the charm made her giggle. "Anna Lou Confoot. Rosalieeeeee."

And then she completely lost it to quiet giggling.

Antwone tried not to listen to what Jezzabell was saying about protecting her friends, he was blushing too hard and was too hot from it to listen any further. He tried to busy himself with more notes on his parchment.

Lauren put a palm to her face, her chin resting on up-turned wrist. Her brow wrinkling with frustration and confusion, she shut her eyes to block out the scene in front of her. Why was a Slytherin student {or two, or three} always involved in whatever classroom and hallway scuffle was going on at the moment? Just because their professor had asked for volunteers and brought them from their seats, graciously breaking the monotous taking of notes usually associated with classes, didn't mean they had the liberty to go totally wild. She was ashamed and completely frustrated with her house - like they, already in dead last place, needed to lose any more points this term. And yet she was forced to sit back and watch as her classmates argued and, later, chatted on during classtime, their house points declining with each sound out of their mouths: it was almost as if Lauren could hear the pings of those emerald-colored gems trickling out of their hourglass. A small groan escaped her lips as she brought her head from her palm and back to the scene in front of her. Lauren only hoped their professor would break it up soon.

Jezz looked over at the blushing friend. "What's with you?" she asked him. Then she looked up at the professor. She was waiting for the questions to be answerred, she was curious, but she whispered to Antwone, "You're cute when you blush you know." she was hoping to see him blush more, but she meant it, he was cute when he blushed.

Ok. Shut up now. When forced herself to stop giggling and looked toward the front of the class. Mister D was gonna say something soon. She could feel it. Or... ya know... he wasn't.

While she waiting, she kept singing Rosalie's nicknames to herself. She pulled out her notebook and starting doodling again, leaning back in her chair. As she put a violent flourish on a K, she tumbled over backward, her chair making a loud CRASH.

"Ouch." Her notebook landed a couple feet away and the cross on her necklace dangled around in her face.

"Cute, eh?" Antwone said about to compliment her as well but then he realized something. Oh no! The love potion! "Jezz! When you got up you wouldn't have happened to take too much a whiff of that love potion did you?"

Jezz laughed. "No, I wasn't sniffing potion. Were you?" She was curious, he had a weird look on his face. She picked up her notebook and started doodling while waiting for his answer.

"No, I've been sitting here the whole time," Antwone said, writing down more notes and waiting for everyone else to get their questions answered. He leaned to Jezzabell and whispered. "We both know I'm not very attractive."

Jezz blushed. He was so stupid sometimes. "I know someone that'd disagree." she said. Then she looked down at her doodles. A giant heart was surrounded by little miny hearts. She turned the page quickly. If anyone saw, they might figure it out.

Rapunzel was silently giggling now, and her sides were almost splitting as she got happy tears in her eyes. This was too funny! Here they were, sitting in a Love Potions class, someone was humming her favorite Muggle song, Love Potion No. 9, and two Ravenclaws were romancing each other! She was ready to burst from laughter. And then that Ravenclaw boy plays it off like he's not good looking! Whatever! Rapunzel hoped he wasn't fishing for compliments.....not that he needed them....
