Kay smiled a sort of half smile and wrote the instructions down in her notebook. Then, she took out her potions ingredients. She brought her half full caulron of water to a boil by putting a fire from her wand under it. Next, seh turned to her table from at which she started chopping up the ginger roots. When they were a fine powder, she sprinkled them into the boiling water. Eyeing the potion carefully with her pale blue eyes, she noticed it turn from clear water to a murky grey. Next, she measured out 4 ml of Glumbumble secretery fluid and added it to the potion evenly, like the instructions said. Taking out her wand, she stirred 5 times clockwise and 3 times counterclockwise. After adding 2 leaves of hellebore and 25 grams of grounded caterpillar, she stirred 2 times clockwise and 2 times counterclockwise. Finally, she lowered the heat under her cauldron and waited for the 20 minutes to end.

As she waited for the next instructions, she thought about what she keep as her most precious possesion. She was pretty sure it would be her mothers ribbon. Kay felt through her pockets until she found the lump that was that very ribbon in her front left pocket, and rested her hand on it.

IC--Dis followed the directions closely, being sure to add the proper amount of ingredients at the right time, stirring according to directions and then letting it simmer for twenty minutes. She was still very uneasy about the substitute professor and didn't trust her intentions with the potion. There was this nagging voice at the back of her head telling her that something was wrong but she just couldn't quite put her finger on it. She usually had a good read on people as well. She had seen this foreign professor as a guest in some other classes and she didn't give her a second thought. She often got into tussles with other students, or vise versa but Dis would often ignore it. Still, she wasn't sure about her. She would have to wait and see what else the professor had in store for them this lesson.

Trelane added the weird fluid and started stirring his potion, being very careful to stir the right amout, counting as he went. "How come there's always weird and gross stuff in potions?" he asked, adding the hellbore leaves. He looked back up at the board and looked for the ground caterpiller. He measured it out carefully and put it in. "Clockwise, clockwise," he said, stirring, "counter, counter." He looked at the board again. Satisfied he lowered the heat and checked the time.

Sini filled her cauldron half way with water and set it to boil. Then while the water was heating she gathered her 4 ginger roots and began chopping them so that they were small pieces. After she got through chopping her roots she looked back at her water, which she noted had begun boiling. Upon seeing the boiling water she began to sprinkle the tiny pieces of her ginger root.

As soon as the ginger root was added to the boiling water the entire cauldron began to bubble and started changing color before her eyes. At first the color was a cloudy grey, then it slowly changed so that the potion was transparent and grey in color.

Glancing up to see what the Professors further instructions were for her potion, Sini jotted down everything she had already done, including the observations she had made and moved on. She had not remembered hearing about some of the ingredients they would be using for this potion, but went over to the Potions closet to gather the next ingredients she would need.

Upon returning to her cauldron she carefully measured 4 mL of Glumbumble secretery fluid, making sure to mix it into the potion evenly. She then began carefully stirring her potion clockwise, five times around as instructed; she then stirred the potion counterclockwise three times. The bubbles within the cauldron continued to come and made a slight popping noise.

She took the hellebore branch she had in front of her and plucked two leaves off of it and added them to her bubbling potion. Then picking up the small vial that held a dried caterpillar within it, she poured the caterpillar onto her cutting board and began crushing her dried caterpillar. Then gathering the crushed caterpillar she measured out 25 grams and sprinkled it into her potion. Stirring 2 times clockwise then 2 times counterclockwise, she had added all her ingredients as described so far by the Professor. Then lowering her head, her potion began to simmer more quietly then before.

After copying down the directions into her old notebook, Sakura took out the supplies for the remaining steps to complete the potion. She poured into her cauldron 4mL of Glumbumble secretary fluid, stirring 5 times clockwise, and then 3 times counterclockwise slowly and carefully afterwards. She began to see popping bubbles and became afraid of the idea of burning herself on accident. Next, she took two Hellebore leaves which were in front of her and put one into the cauldron on either side. She then pulled out a caterpillar and began to ground it into small pieces, measuring it to be exactly 25 grams, and then dumped it into the potion in progress. Afterwards, she stirred the potion nervously, two times clockwise and twice counterclockwise. Sakura suddenly found herself at the last step, which was to let it simmer for 20 minutes, and so, she sat back down, and checked to see when 20 minutes would be.

Considering Dis had finished making her potion, she decided to get a head start on her homework and look up some of the ingredients of the potion to see why such things were added. She pulled her Potions textbook out of her bag and began to flip through it, trying to find all of the ingredients--

Dis put down her quill and looked over the notes she scribbled on her parchment. These were all very strange ingredients singularly. Why would one need Glumblebumble fluid for a summoning potion? And how is this potion supposed to be administered and just what are it's effects? Does the person who drinks it automatically come to the call of the administer? A light went on in Dis's head and she scribbled quickly--

Dis had another thought and pulled another book out from her bag and flipped through it's pages, looking for something in particular. She finally found what she was looking for and quickly read over the page--

Dis scrunched her face when she found this and tried to reason with herself. Well, to call is a version of to speak. You can't call someone without speaking and vise versa. And voce and voco aren't similar for nothing. They obviously have the same root and Italian is a Latin language and all, it must derive from somewhere. To speak and to call are very similar. It could be a 'tell someone to come over here' solution. Very likely.

Dis slammed her book shut and threw it back in her bag, huffing as she did. SHe straightened herself out in her chair and rested her chin on her left hand, her quill in her right, tapping it's tip on the table, waiting for the professor to continue on with class. It was hard to prove someone wrong that was always right.

It was a great relief when the professor decided that it was time to begin the potion. Serena preferred the hands-on portion of the class, though the speaking portion of the class was actually quite amusing and definitely much more different than what she was used to. The students attending Salem must have such lively potion classes and Serena had a feeling that the other sisters were just as entertaining as the potions professor.

Placing the correct number of ginger roots on the table in front of her, as she usually compiled the ingredients first, Serena filled her cauldron with water, making certain that the water only rose to the halfway point. She lit the flame, watching as it proceeded to a rolling boil. She then proceeded to cut up the ginger roots, carefully slicing them into thin, tiny pieces, and sprinkled them into the water. She watched it carefully, smiling briefly as the solution took on a gray tint.

She waited patiently for a few minutes as the other students finished up the first two steps of the potion. When the professor placed the rest of the instructions on the board, Serena read them carefully and once more gathered all of the necessary ingredients. She poured in the Glumbumble fluid, spreading it around evenly throughout the solution, insuring that one particular area didn’t receive too much.

Stirring the required number of times, Serena placed the two leaves of hellebore inside the cauldron and then glanced down at the next ingredient, grimacing slightly. Grounded caterpillar? Ew. She carefully ground up the caterpillar and dumped it into the cauldron. She stirred the solution 2 times clockwise and then 2 times counterclockwise.

Lowering the heat, she glanced briefly at her watch, noting the time and pulled her book towards her, beginning to idly read the properties of the ingredients.

Zaza didn´t know whether it was only that she missed Professor Branxton and his funny ways with his spectacles, but the substituting lady gave her creeps. And what on earth meant `heppy´? Was it an American children´s word for help or being unhappy? Luckily she didn´t have to use the word, since the potion was simple enough for her, because she had been very keen on her Little Chemist -set, eventhough she hadn´t as much followed the instructions as made some interesting colourful solutions ...

Glumbumble? An insect, she remembered. Wasn´t it something that caused melancholy? Might it be they should shout `heppy´ when the glumbumble started to work, she thought. What was clockwise, now? She panics a little, but luckily her gaze catches her watch. But of course ...

She hesitated when reaching the hellebore leaves, but she guessed it was alright you added them whole, because there were no other instructions about it. Weighing the caterpillar powder was fun, she thought, as she liked to use the scales. Two times clockwise and another two counterclockwise. She smiled a little, because this time she didn´t check the directions from her watch. She lowers the heat and looks at her watch, this time only to get the right time for simmering. Then she relaxes and lets her eyes wander.

Herlucy filled half her cauldren with water then started to boil it.She then started to cut the ginger roots before sprinkling them into the boiling water.Herlucy was relieved when the potion turned a transparent grey colour.
Herlucy looked at the rest of the instructions on the board.She then added 4ml of glumbumble secretery fluid to her potion.
She then stirred it 5 times clockwise and 3 times counter clockwise.Herlucy added two leaves of Hellebore and checked that she had done everything right so far.
After adding 25 grams of grounded catapillar,Herlucy stirred it two times clockwise and two times counter clockwise.She then lowered the heat and leaved it to simmer.

Whende worked slowly. She didn't want a repeat of her hair accident, a time she could never forget. She tugged at a strand of rainbow hair and looked at the board for the next set of directions. Pausing after each step, she worked her way through the steps, careful to stir in the correct direction and to keep her book out of the potion. Once she was finished, she lowered the heat and sat back to wait out the simmering...ness...time, humming softly as she did.

"They are not gross and weird my dear," Hepzibah tutted at the boy. "The ingredients and potions themselves are marvellous and fascinating; you just need explained why." She continued on her travels and seen that the majority of the class were finished with their potion.

"Well done class. All looks well. If you please take a vial of your solution and cork it. This will be your partion of the potion to keep and use as you see fit. I shall be needing the rest of everyone's potion for fun reasons you shall find out later," she giggled.

"Once you have corked and put away your vial please sit alert with quill and parchment ready. We shall make a few notes on the ingredients and how to use the potion. I changed my mind about making it homework as we yet have time to spare and I need to explain how potions are not weird and gross - as some of us think. I hadn't thought you all quite as intelligent as you have proved," she smiled taking her seat whilst singing, waiting for the class to get ready.

Whende sighed. Oh well, note taking was better than turning things weird colors. She quickly filled a vial, hoping that she wouldn't burn through her fingers with some sort of evil acid, rather than the potion she was supposed to have made. She'd never say it was gross, but it definately was buggy.

"Very buggy," she mumbled under her breath as she pulled out a note book, quill, and ink.

Cameron, though cautious, did as the Professor said and poured a measured amount into a vile, corked it, and placed it carfully in her pocket. She planned on dumping it out later in the lavatory as, for the time being, she did not know what its effects were.

She then took her cauldron with the remaining amount of potion and placed it beneath her desk. After making sure to not kick the cauldron, she took out her parchment and quill; as Professor Hart had requested, and sat still.

The sixteen year old's eyes however, followed the now singing, strange, Salem native as she took her seat at the head of the class.

Neva corks her potion as instructed before placing it into the pocket of her green jacket. She pulls her purple quill and notebook from her bag and sits, leaning back against her chair.

Neva looks curiously at the singing Professor before closing her eyes, deep in thought.

Emily corked her vial and carefully placed it in her bag. She rummaged for a piece of parchment and a quill, then sat at her desk, waiting for the Professor to continue.

She turned her attention to the Salem witch, who was now singing. She was an odd sort of lady.

Hearing Professor Hart’s instructions, she went to the closet for a vial to place her solution in. She headed back to her desk and scooped up a small amount of the potion in front of her within, corked it and set it with her other belongings for another time.

She gathered her parchment, quill and ink in front of her, ready to take notes that the Professor would be giving soon. She looked forward to learning about the ingredients that had been used as some were unfamiliar to her and exactly what the potion that had been brewed in class does.

"Well, firstly, it is important to know how to use a potion. For this specific potion you drink the solution and call for the item you desire three times. Clear, well spoken and properly pronounced times. Now obviously we can't have everyone getting what they want so most important items such as money, things in your ministry will be encrypted with spells that you must know to retreive, in which case you say the spell three times in a row and voila! As time has passed most spells have been forgotten which is why this potion isn't used a lot if not at all."

Hepzibah smiled at the amazed faces. She loved the British. They were so fascinating. "Now onto the ingredients. Lets start with the glumbumble juice. As most of you probably know it is used for melancholy circumstances. Well if you are to lose something precious to yourself, you are likely to experience gloomy moods and the likes. Yes?"

"You all can do these next ones," Hepzibah pointed the caterpillar, helebore and ginger roots as listed on the board. "Who can give me the correct reason for using these three. Those who answer correctly will get points." Hepzibah waited for any hands to pop up whilst sipping on some tea she had just made.

"Erm..." He realized he knew what went in the potion, but not why. He was beginning to feel silly. "Caterpillers... um... To reverse... something?" He bottled up a vial of the potion, wrote some notes on it, then thought more about the ingredients.

Nikki Raiser her hand "Professor, i believe that hellebore is poisonous as it comes from a Greek word elein which means to injure and bora which is food. Caterpillars are also used in shrinking solutions and ginger roots can be used in Wit-Sharpening Potion.'

:: Spencer raised his hand and stood up, "Well, Catepillars are fuzzy and they turn into Butterflies. Some butterflies drink blood." He explained in all seriousness.

"Helebore is.. Helebore can make you turn into a mummy. " He lied while illustrating a perfect mummy pose (his arms stiff and out in front of him.)

"As for Ginger, It has the power to control minds" He said pointing to his own head.

"So, It has something to due with Egyptian bloodsucking mindcontrol." He nodded and sat down. ::

Dis tapped the tip of her quill on the table and looked down that the notes she had taken previously. She raised her hand, knowing that she had some pretty good ideas as to what the rest of the ingredients do. "Professor, hellebore is a poisonous food if ingested but it can also be used to purge one of something, usually something bad. It can also be used as a sort of protection from evil spells and has something to do with invisibility." Dis looked down at her paper again and looked back up. She didn't want the professor to lose sight of her. "Catepillars are used in the shrinking solution and are known to reverse the aging process." The looked down at her notes for the third time and back up again. "I couldn't find much on the ginger root other than it's used in the Wit Sharpening potion."

While Dis did have a rather strange feeling about the professor, and was taken aback regarding her foreign methods of teaching, she was still ready, willing and able to provide answers. Dis tucked her newly corked vial of summoning potion into her bag when she had finished speaking. She didn't know if it was something that she would use or if she would just stick to Accio.

Kay corked her potion, placed a vial on Professor Branxton's desk, which Ms. Hart was occupying, then returned to her desk and readied to take notes on the importance of the ingredients.

Sakura quickly filled a vial with the potion she made, turned it in, and sat back down and started writing notes down. She was about to answer the question asked but decided against it, seeing as it was already said by someone else.

"You all have misunderstood my question. Why are the ingredients, using the information you have already given me, used in this specific potion?. There are reasons," Hepzibah smiled. "This lesson is running a bit long so I will answer for you. Caterpillars are used as it represents the thing lost. Something lost is hard to find as is something as small as a caterpillar."

"Hellebore is poisonous and this is to actually posion the potion slightly. If you use the potion to much you will soon die. The effects of the poison build up and up. It is more a security feature if anything and the ginger roots were used simply for flavour."

Hepzibah rose from her seat and finished her tea. "Now I have had amazing fun with you lot and I hope you all learned something and enjoyed the introduction to foreign potion making. You all are dismissed!"

Neva packs her things away and heads towards the door. She pauses for a moment and turns back to the Professor's desk. "Professor, may I have a word with you please?" she asks quietly.
