Just beyond the door to the lovely candy shop in Diagon Alley lays shelves among shelves of different types of wizarding candy imaginable. Everything is labeled, so it shouldn't be too hard to find what you're looking for. There comes a time when someone picks up way too much candy than they can carry. No worries! A stack of baskets have been placed near the last shelf on the right, and anybody is welcome to use them if they need something to put their candy in.

Some items have been placed on the very high shelf. If you happen to need something from the top shelf and can't reach it, don't hesitate to notify the shopkeeper. He's more than happy to help you. It's better to get help than to try to reach the candy and make a mess! If you do happen to make a mess, make sure you fix it. Though the shopkeeper would have seen it already, he'd like to see that you didn't leave precious candy on the floor. He might be behind the counter, but his excellent sight allows him to see every single thing going on. Mhhm.

Where was the timeturner when you needed it? She wouldn't go back to the start of this summer. Maybe...maybe last summer. That one had been pretty good.

Yeees, right, Natalie wondered if this topic would come up the next time she saw Jessa. Derf. Last time they had really talked, Jessa had told Natalie to just GO FOR IT and tell Derf how she felt. And... she did... sort of... more or less. Natalie inspected some candy closely while her cheeks turned pink. "No, we did... kind of." And they had spent some good time together on his birthday. But that's all she was saying at the moment.

She didn't think much of Jessa's response, assuming that her summer had just been a normal summer with no excitement. She responded to her question with a nod and a smile. "It was fun. We spent a lot of time on the beach. I think Cam had fun." They ALL had fun. It was a good time. She liked that her, Liam and Cam could hang out together.

Natalie SIGHED at her next comment. "I know. Summer's going by too fast." Now, what was next... Taffy?

He really wanted to buy one for his sister who had damaged and broken hers. "Yes, we have Charms together. I'm Ryan Bones of Gryffindor house and you're in Slytherin?" he presented himself with a small smile.

Etta and Vi needed to do some serious celebrating. Thus, a trip to Sugarplums was a must.

After learning that her own boyfriend had been made Head Boy, Vi had a very BIG sneaking suspicion that Etta may have become Hogwarts’ very own Head Girl. Or at least she hoped so. Vi thought her friend would make an excellent Head Girl just like Kitty had. Sure Kitty hadn’t been the most popular student at Hogwarts and sure she had been a little odd at times but she wasn’t afraid to be herself which is something that Vi respected immensely. She respected Kitty so much as the girl had the confidence to be brave and be true to herself which was something that Olivia had struggled with when she had been at Beauxbatons. Coming to Hogwarts and meeting Ace and Etta had definitely helped turn that around.

Vi opened the door to Sugarplums and slipped her way into the store. She exhaled, feeling relieved that the store wasn’t too, too busy.

Curious blue eyes trailed back to the Slytherin, the question in them as plain as day. "How do you "kinda" talk about something like that?" Serious question. It didn't seem the type of thing you could be vague with--or...you could...but shouldn't. "Did you both skirt around the subject or something?" That was the only way she could figure the sentence warranting a "kinda".

Curious. Very curious.

"I bet he did." She said, now momentarily distracted from the first line of argument by the talk of beaches. "I know he was really looking forward to it. Said he'd take pictures so I can see." Saying this only served to remind her of the plans they'd made for the train and how these plans would now have to be majorly altered. Thanks a lot Hogwarts.

"I almost wish there was another month of summer but if it's gonna go like the rest of it has, reckon I might as well take my chances back at the castle. At least then I'll have all my experiments at my disposal."

Cordelia had everything organized for a day out shopping in Diagon Alley with her care worker. For Cordelia this meant counting the money that she had to spend, and making sure that she had her purse and backpack packed with all of the necessary and backup diabetes supplies including her blood glucose testing kit, juice boxes and sweets for low blood glucose, her continuous glucose monitor receiver, extra insulin pump sets, and insulin syringes. She wasn’t old enough to go to Hogwarts yet, so while the older kids were getting all their school stuff, Cordelia was going around with her care worker looking in all the shops selling products that would be of interest to eight year olds. Her first stop was the candy store called Sugarplums. Cordelia ran ahead of her care worker into the shop, looking around excitedly at everything and smiling.

Look at that! They had jelly beans! The jelly beans were called Bertie Botts and it said they came in EVERY flavor! Cordelia was curious to find out what flavors were in the boxes that claimed to have every flavor. Jelly beans were the best! She was definitely going to get a bunch of these as low snacks. How many of the sugary beans were in each packet? How many jelly beans did she need to eat to get fifteen grams of carbs? Her tiny hands grabbed boxes of Bertie Botts off the shelf and placed them into a basket that looked disproportionately large compared to her small body. The larger hands of Cordelia’s care worker plucked several boxes out of the basket and back on to the shelves, as a reminder that Cordelia needed to limit herself only to what she had money for. Okay, maybe she would just get a box or two. Could she get more by saying these were necessary medical supplies?

Patrick walked into the shop and began to admire the candy displays. He was happy to be back in Diagon Alley considering it had been a long summer. He had gotten to visit his friends back in the states and they had way too much fun playing on his grandparents farm. However, when he got back to England, his southern accent was thicker than it was before. He perused the isles and wondered if he would run into any of his friends from the year before. He had heard rumblings that quiditch would be back this term, he should likely convince his parents to buy him a broom so he could try out.

Yeah, she sort of expected that. Natalie's cheeks turned a slight shade of pink as she suddenly became quite interested in some fruity chewy candy. She wondered if Derf would mind her telling... But she supposed not? Jessa and Derf were good friends, after all. "Well, no... I mean, I told him that I wanted him to be my first kiss. And then later... we kissed." And, basically, it was as simple as that (except it was WAY more awesome).

Natalie smiled, sure that Cam had taken pictures to share. "You should come sometime. Probably next summer, and Cam can come again." That would be fun. Cam AND Jessa? WILD.

Curious, Natalie looked over at her friend. "Has it been lousy?" she asked. The words and tone of her voice made it seem like her summer hadn't gone so well if she wanted to go back to Hogwarts already. It was true, though, that Jessa probably had everything she needed for all her "experiments" at the castle.

Rylee wasted no time at all in entering Sugarplums after her mum had told her that she could spend a bit of her coins on some candy. The eleven year old was hardly two steps inside the shop and she already knew exactly where she was heading. Up one aisle and down another even though she hadn't needed to do that. The sugar quills were nowhere near where she was standing now but in a spur of the moment type of way she decided that she was going to grab a few chocolate frogs to share with Reese and Rian. She was also going to grab some of the red licorice rope for Reese too since that was his favorite.

Making her way through the aisle she found the shelves of chocolate frogs. Grabbing a few she was about to make her way to another aisle when she saw a boy about her age and smile cheerfully at him. "Hello!"

It still amazed him that he was going to be a second year when they took off to Hogwarts this year. He was so ready to be at Hogwarts and see his friends again and interact with his friends. “Hello! What kind of stuff do you have?” he asked looking down at the candy in her hands. He hadn’t decided on any yet, but he was sure he would in the next few minutes.

Miranda made her way into the sweet shop to get some more melting disks for her chocolates. She planned on making twice as many as last term to start out with for each House at school.. As she entered she saw Rian's mother and soon saw Rylee.. She would need to go and say hello and all that once she had gotten the things she had come for... Right now she was on a mini mission and only after getting the chocolate melting disks into her basket would she go over.

Out of the corner of her bright shining blue eyes, Ry spotted someone she knew incredibly well. The smile on her freckled face grew even more and she bounced on the spot shuffling the chocolate frogs in her arms to her one arm so she could wave her hand at the older girl. "Miranda! Hi!" She couldn't exactly see what all her sisters best friend was grabbing but that was okay.

He was amazed by her enthusiasm for the candy. Sure he liked candy as much as the next kid but he wasn’t going to throw a pixie stick machine open in his mouth. He looked at her thoughtfully, “Well chocolate frogs are pretty tasty.” he noticed she was saying hello to someone else. He figured she knew a lot of people if she was making such executed runs through the store.

“you know my absolute favorite is fudge my mamas makes the best fudge there is.” he looked around the store because he couldn’t remember where it was in this store.

Rylee was one of those easily excitable children. It wasn't just candy that made her this happy. Everything made her happy. Sunshine, creatures, dancing. Everything. "Uh-huh. Those are my big sisters favorite." That's why she had made sure to get one for her. Rian was always so nice to her so she wanted to be nice in return whenever she could.

Oh! "Fudge is really yummy! I really like the peanut butter fudge best," Ry replied smiling. Noticing that he was looking around she spoke again. "The fudge is kept up front if that's what you're looking for." Maybe she would get a bit of that too while she was here.

RJ needed to restock. His supplies were desperately low and that would never do with school returning and everything. How would he ever survive the year! Managing to escape his dad's watchful eye again he headed straight to the candy store. Or his second home rather.

He looked around looking for anything his Lilypad might like and grabbed a handful of chocolate frogs and quills before heading to the beans. Only to find his stock was being raided by a younger kid!!!!! Eyes wide he walked over. NOOOOOO. Watching as the older person put the rest back after taking a few he relaxed and grabbed the basket. His. Ha.

His mum's voice rang in his head though yelling at him for being a prat and he blushed. "Are you done with these?" He asked softly. See he could be nice. Sometimes. Maybe. Well they were his favorite candy after all right? And he was going to buy them all!

"I'll keep them in mind for another time though," she added with a sweet smile.

The thirteen year old shrugged again and shook her head, hearing his question. "No, I don't I don't collect them... But I'd guess they'd be with the chocolate frogs." It would make the most sense to her anyway, but she never noticed them and hadn't ever looked for them. Ryan... right, okay, that was his name. She didn't think it was necessary to say that she hadn't remembered, but it was good that he offered it to her. "That's right," she nodded happily. "Slytherin."

Well she wasn't about to yell after him through the shop or chase him, that would just be creepy. Whenever she ran into him again, most likely at Hogwarts she would find out his name.

Hugs! Rylee beamed up at Miranda hugging her tightly. The older girl might be her big sisters best friend but that didn't mean that she didn't look up to her. Having known Miranda since she was around four or five years old only served the purpose in making her feel like she had another big sister at times. "Uh-huh," she giggled. How could one not have fun in Sugarplums?! "Just chocolate frogs so far... I still need to get red licorice rope for Reese and some sugar quills. Will you walk with me?" Pleeeeaaase? She glanced at the basket in Miranda's hand and smiled widely. "Are you making those candies again... the ones you give to Rian?!"

Emmalyn entered Sugarplum’s with a pocket light on change. She really wanted to take some treats with her to Hogwarts, knowing it might be several months before she could stock back up. Unfortunately, her new broom and goggles had taken the majority of her funds. Either way, she was going to figure out a way to get the most bang for her knuts.

As she stood, looking over all of the deliciousness, she heard the door to the shop open again and saw an unfamiliar face enter. Her smile brightened “Hi” she greeted the newcomer and waited to see if he wanted to chat.

Unfortunately, her new broom and goggles had taken the majority of her funds. Either way, she was going to figure out a way to get the most bang for her knuts.

As she stood, looking over all of the deliciousness, she heard the door to the shop open again and saw an unfamiliar face enter. Her smile brightened “Hi” she greeted the newcomer and waited to see if he wanted to chat.

Slightly curious, Ewan pushed open the door, slowly taking the fabulous delights in, his eyes craving more. His muggleborn eyes had never quite seen a sight like this before. If this was a sweet shop, he couldn't wait to find out what Hogwarts is like! With his father collecting his other school supplies, Ewan wanted to sample everything in the shop.

As the door closed behind him, he saw a girl with light brown hair and fair
skin look up at him.

Despite the friendly "Hi" from the youbg witch, Ewan was cautious. He had never spoken to a fellow witch. Tentatively, smiled back and mumbled
"Hi" looking down as he did so. Social interaction was not Ewan's strong point.

"Can we come back to Diagon Alley again before school starts?" Néve asked her parents, who were looking preeetty exhausted. She, on the other hand, was cheerfully swinging her bags back and forth by her side. Their answer? 'Yes, because they hadn't found all the books she and Will needed for school yet.' YAY. That was good. Néve really liked Diagon Alley. It had so many secrets and cool things that she could write about. "Can we come back soon??" She wanted to write lots - as much as possible, really - over summer because she might not have as much time to write when she got to Hogwarts. Their answer this time was a simple 'yeah'. Hmm.. "I'm sorry," she mumbled. She could tell they were really tired.

..............."I have one more question.." She paused, trying to figure out if one more question was one question too many. "Can I please buy some sweets from Sugarplums?" Néve looked at them with her most adoring eyes and watched as they sighed, gentle smiles tugging at their lips. That meant yes. YIPEE. As most eager eleven-year-olds would, she bounced on the balls of her feet as she waited for her parents to hand over her allowance and then she was OFF.

Once inside, she made a beeline for sour-looking candies. Her favourites.

The young boy appeared to be around her age, maybe just a bit younger. His head was down enough that she couldn't make out his face, but he seemed nice enough. "I'm Emmalyn. Second year Hufflepuff. Are you a first year?" She hated to assume he was a first year and be wrong, but she didn't recognize him from the previous year.

Hoping to encourage him a bit, she stepped towards the entry of the store where he stood. "Would you like to help me pick out some candy? I need to get as much as I can with the little I have left after buying my new broom." Oh the broom. How she couldn't wait to ride her new broom in the first quidditch game of the year. No last place again for the Hufflepuffs. No. That was not going to happen to her two years in a row.

~~James~~ Eiji was very familiar with this particular shop. Mama came here often for baking reasons but today was not one of those days. Today he was on his OWN (only because grandpa Charles was over at Gringotts taking care of some sort of international transfers but shh), papa was working at home, and mama was taking the triplets to Mungo's for a routine check-up. All of it amounted to him having the almost ritualistic bag of galleons gifted by his grandpa in his hand, tossing it up and down like a ball, and a hankering for something with some crunch. And not the sort that took a crunch out of him this time.

He blew past the girl his ages talking with her family outside, though was cautious enough not to bump into anyone, and began his own browsing. Starting off by the gum. "Invisible Gum...." he read aloud. That sounded appealing.

Realising that he had just bombarded her with lots of questions, Ewan blushed... He always got like this when something peaked his interest, and the thought of flying definitely interested him.

"Sorry" Ewan said, smiling at the Emmalyn sheepishly. "I've never seen a broom before, let alone flown on one". He hoped he didn't scare her off like the rest of his friends.

Emmalyn grinned as the boy pelted her with questions. She was always happy to talk about flying, one of her favorite things, and patiently waited for him to finish. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Ewan." She stepped a bit to the left, leaving room for any newcomers to enter the shop. "I did just buy a new broom. It's a Firebolt X-treme S." She wished she had the broom with her that very moment to show him. "I played on the house quidditch team last year, and I hope to make the team again. I played chaser. I think it's my favorite position, but I've never officially played the others before to compare."

So, he had never been on a broom before. "You must be muggleborn. I am too. I had never been on a broom before last year either." She hoped that would make him feel a bit more comfortable. Her first trip to Diagon Alley last summer was utterly overwhelming. It seemed like she was the only one that had never heard of the magical world before. "You will get to take flying class at Hogwarts and it's loads of fun."

She fiddled with her bracelet and looked at his young face. "Are you excited about starting Hogwarts? Which house do you hope to be placed in? I'm a Hufflepuff. It's great, but the other houses are nice too."
