"I'm sorry to hear that," Briony sympathized. "My parents reinvented the Wolfsbane potion. It's so annoying. All they ever do is work to create new potions." Briony really didn't understand things Lucy had mentioned. "I do know how you feel though Lucy. My younger sister died from uncontrollable seizures when she was 13. I thought I could escape the world and pain I felt by reading. Unfortunately I found out that was not the case years later." It hurt thinking about Cam. She had been gone for years, yet Briony didn't let a day go by without thinking about her.

"Sorry to hear about what? It's okay. It was a long time." she answered. Lisa had died when she was twelve. Plus, they had always been very different, personaility-wise and the big difference of ages had never helped. Still, it had been a turning point in her life. "Everybody, at some point, looses someone. Sometimes, death is not even involved. And every single one of us deals with pain differently." She ran away. She had always been better hiding than facing the problems. She couldn't deny: pain was there and it hurt. She had just grown to accept it the best way possible.

"But today is a bright today and... is it worth to talk about sad things right now? i speak for myself, i've had enough. I want to live my life the way i feel like it and I know talking about my sister won't bring anything new." she paused, lacking of words to express herself. "Now, I feel just fine guessing my life is going to go. That's pretty much enough to make me want to change carreer again." she added.

Maybe one day she could put it all behind.
Maybe one day she could trust someone else enough to tell that person everything. Just like she had before last summer.

"I agree," Briony nodded. "It is all in the past. Forever and we can only take one new day at a time and not worry what the future will bring. Or what the past once held." She decided to change the subject. "I need your help. Have you ever had a boyfriend. You seem like the kind of person who could have."

That she had not seen that coming. Lucy nodded her head very slowly, afraid of saying anything; something that could betray her. First, because of the compliment included there. Second: her secret marriage. Third: The other man...
"Yes... " slowly, she was capable of answering. Where is this heading? "And you need my help because....?" she waited for the other woman to complete her sentence.

"Well," Briony began, her neck started to flush red. "I have never had a boyfriend. And I have no idea where to begin with men. It's sad really, me being 21 and all. It's quite embarrassing actually," she admitted.

That was sooo not her comfort area. Work. Numbers. Paychecks. Travelling around the world. Those were her favourite topics. Relationships? That was Eva's thing.
Luce coughed a little:
"Hum... Okay. I-I'm not sure how... How I can help..." she began, stuttering. "Is there any... men, erm, i mean, man ... you're... interested in?" embarassing was that topic. I want Eva here right now. She begged for Melrin to bring her goddaughter in a smoky cloud.
Yes, apparently she could still be a bit childish.

"No," Briony shook her head truthfully, well maybe not so truthfully. "There is---," she began, her face rising in excitement. "Never mind. I'm just here for advice," she blushed an even deeper red then before thinking about who she liked, but was too embarrassed to admit.

Luce waited. No pressures.
"So there is a man." she smiled weakly. "There's always a man. Get used to it." she added with a wink. "If you want to... talk about it, I'm here. But I know relationships, any kind of relationships need time and trust." she said with a shrug. She'd listen if Briony wanted to talk about her man, but she would not pressure her. She had seen what pressures could make - in Nick's case, it was Ryan, a friendly divorce and a veyr nasty ex-wife. In her case... It was little bit different.

"I just met him recently," Briony started. "We've met before, but not since Hogwarts. He seems like a really nice guy. You know him I can assume. Except if I tell you, I don't think you'll appreciate it. I don't want to upset you, really," she added. Briony had never thought about a guy she was really interested in until now. It was hard to explain in words how she felt. Maybe Lucy would pick up on it.

"Oh your right" laughed Oliver. "My mind has been in knots lately,so my memory may be a tad off." said Oliver. "Well it was nice meeting you two" said Oliver, and he walked back towards his desk.

Oh crap. Not that, not him! It should be forbidden.
But of course Luce had always known something like that would happen. Luck... hadn't really been on her side lately. Covering her mouth with her hand trying not to show her emotions, Luce approached her desk, picked a piece of parchment and a quill.
"Excuse me." she said before hurrying to elave the room. She started to get along with a woman for the first time ever and something had to come along to ruin it.
That wasn't something Luce could deal with. Not yet.

Briony closed her eyes and sighed. When she reopened them she averted her eyes up at the ceiling. Yes, of course, she knew this was bound to happen. She knew Lucy was going to react the way she did. She turned around and called after her, "I'm sorry Lucy." It wasn't enough she knew that, but she couldn't just let another relationship slip before her eyes like it did with her sister, brother, and parents.

Luce stopped on her way to the door.
"So, you know..." she looked down and took a very rare impulsive decision. "Give me a couple of hours. Can we meet later in D.A.? Leaky Cauldron? I'd like to talk to you." she said, her voice thick with emotion.

"Sure," Briony said, hoping things would maybe get better from there. They might not though.

Danielle walked back into the office to see that there was another person with Lucy " Hi I'm Danielle Waters" she said smilling and introducing herself. sHe saw Lucy and waved to her beaming." Did everything go ok....? While I was gone" she asked wanting to know what happened. " Do you guys know anyone selling tickets? I'd like to buys some" she said sighing.

"Oh, hi Danielle," Briony replied smiling. "I'm Briony Whitehall the new Liason to this department and I'm selling tickets actually if you'd like any," she offered.

" Oh yes I'd like two please" she said smiling and taking out her coin purse pulling out 12 galleons. " How much is it?" she asked making sure she had 12 galleons.

After failing to introduce himself to both top bosses of the department, Oliver decided to go back to work, he returned to his desk, and looked through some plans for the new OWLS exams, and let his fears float away.

"They're five galleons a piece, so ten galleons then please," Briony smiled at the other women.

" Oh great, they have gone down since last time, haven't they?" she said smiling. She stuffed two galleons back into her coin purse and poored they 10 galleons into Briony's hand.

"Thanks again," Briony said, handing her the two tickets in exchange for the galleons.

" Thank you" said Danielle smiling as she placed her tickets in her coin purse. Knowing if she put them anywhere else she would lose them.

"You know," Briony said eying the women in front of her. "J.J. Starr actually asked if I had met you yet. I guess I can say I am. I'm going to his wedding and he said he would introduce me there to you. Seems we've met now right?" Briony smiled.

When Lucille walked in she was completely white. The better she brought on her hand had been the cause of everything. She placed her belongings at her desk and quickly head to the cafeteria, coming back immediately with two cups of cofee, completely ignoring her co-workers.
There were three people on the planted with the power to disturb her that way. her ex-husband, her goddaughter and her boss.

Those news from Hogwarts would bother everyone.

Oliver walked into his office in a hurry, muttering under his breath. "Well isn't she delightful, didn't even talk to her yet, and already she is going off on me." He put some files in his drawer and grabbed his jacket. "Well at least lunch won't be so bad." said Oliver quietly. He left the office anxious to get to lunch.
