Chapter 43:A Plan Formed

When Hermione and Ginny finally returned to classes, they were welcomed with big hugs and cheers. A couple of girls even cried because they were so happy that their friends were alright. It didn’t take Hermione long to return to her old self. In no time she was answering all the teacher’s questions and even requesting extra homework. The teacher’s just smiled and said “Glad to have you back Hermione. It wasn’t the same without you.” On their lunch period, a first year told Harry that the Headmaster wanted to see him. So Harry left his girlfriend and his best mate and went to find out what this was about.

Harry knocked softly on the door and heard Dumbledore’s voice answer him back. He entered and found Wormtail in magical binds in the office and stopped dead in his tracks. “What’s he doing here?” Harry asked angrily. “Easy Potter.” McGonagall warned as she saw Harry was going to attack. “Believe it or not Harry, he’s going to help us.” Dumbledore replied. “What! He can’t be trusted. He betrayed my parents!” Harry said fiercely. “I am aware of that Harry. The truth is that we need him.” Dumbledore said as he remained in his chair. “I disagree.” Harry replied. “I knew you would. Professor McGonagall and I have come up with a plan that can once and for all rid Voldemort from our lives.” Wormtail flinched at the name Voldemort. “I’m listening.” Harry said as he took a seat farthest from Wormtail. “We are going to let the magical world and Voldemort believe that I’m dead. We are going to say that I was killed in the battle rescuing the girls. I know Voldemort, and he will be skeptical. So Wormtail is going to return to him and insure him that I am indeed dead. Voldemort will see my death as an opening to attack and wage a major war on the magically community. If he wants a war, then we‘ll give him a war. But I will be there to help destroy him. He won‘t see this coming.” Dumbledore explained. “That’s crazy! This scum can’t be trusted. How do we know that he just won’t tell Voldemort everything. That he won’t bring Voldemort right to our door?” Harry questioned. “I thought of that Harry and that is why I have made a very generous offer to Peter.” Dumbledore replied back. “What kind of offer?” Harry asked. “I told him that he will not die for his crimes even though he should, but stay in Azkaban for the remainder of his life.” Dumbledore said as he took a sip of his cup of tea. “And he agreed to this?” Harry asked skeptically. Wormtail stirred uncomfortably in his chair and spoke. “I’m tired of being afraid to die from Master. I only joined with him in the beginning because I was terrified and afraid for my life. Little did I know that joining with him meant always being afraid for my life. Believe me or not Harry, I am truly sorry that I helped him kill Lilly and James. And all those other people I’ve seen him kill. There faces still haunt me.” Wormtail said as he remembered a certain young couple trying to flee and Voldemort still killing them. “How loyal can you be to us if you still refer to Voldemort as Master?” Harry asked as he crossed his arms across his chest. “It’s become a habit. After saying master for over a decade, it’s hard to stop.” Wormtail replied. “I don’t like it, but it just might work. I’m in, but I swear if you tell Voldemort anything I will haunt you down and kill you myself. I have no problem getting revenge on my parent’s betrayer.” Harry said dead seriously.

Chapter 44:Never Say Goodbye

Harry went to the common room and found it empty because everyone was still in class. Harry didn’t care that he was cutting a few classes now. What he had to do was way more important than sitting in class and taking a few notes. Harry was on a mission for once and for all rid the world of the plague that is Voldemort. The plan was going to take affect tonight during dinner. Luckily when they had returned to the castle before, no one saw Dumbledore alive except Madam Pomfrey. Of course since Hermione, Ron, and Ginny knew the truth, he would have to tell them the entire plan. Harry paced back and fourth through the room. He was thinking of different scenarios of killing Voldemort. Almost all of them didn’t turn out well. Even though you would think it would be simple and easy to destroy Voldemort seeing as he only had one more life left, it wasn’t simple at all. Voldemort has thousands to his army and he alone was extremely powerful. Harry kept thinking very hard about what would be the best way to kill him. Then he realized he has been very stupid all this time. Voldemort was a half-blood! Even though Voldemort denied his father’s name and wants to be Pure-blood, it isn’t so. So Harry just got an idea that just might work. He knew that students would be returning shortly so he had to get a move on. He ran up to his dorm and went straight for his trunk. He retrieved something that was given to him by an old friend. Just looking at it gave him all the confidence in the world. Immediately he starting practicing with it and before he knew it, he had gotten perfect at it. Then he heard noises downstairs and discarded it back in his trunk and went to meet his friends. As soon as he saw them he knew what he was doing was the right thing. All this was for them and the good that was still left in the world. “Harry! What happened?” Hermione asked. “It’s not safe to discuss it here. Let’s go upstairs.” Harry replied. “All right” And Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and Draco followed Harry up to the Boys’ Dormitories. “So what’s up mate?” Ron questioned. “You’re not going to like this but we have a plan and we’re using Wormtail to help us.” Harry said while guessing their reactions. They all flipped out. “That’s absurd. He can’t be trusted.” Hermione said as her hair moved around crazy as she did around the room. “Have they all gone completely mental?” Ron said with disbelief. “Don’t they know it’s just as bad as walking right up to You-Know-Who and saying “here I am Kill Me?” Ginny exclaimed as she started turning smoking red. “Are you going along with this Harry?” Draco asked. “I have to. I know he can’t be trusted but he’s our only real chance at stopping Voldemort. He even seemed sorry about betraying my parents. Plus I assured him that if he ever double-crossed us again I would kill him myself.” Harry told them. Then he told them everything that Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall were planning to do. When he was done, they all couldn’t believe it. “So we have to pretend that Dumbledore is dead?” Hermione asked. “Yes. Professor McGonagall is going to announce his death at dinner tonight. She’s going to say that he died while trying to rescue you two, so you might have some people hating you. Can you deal with that?” Harry asked his girlfriend and good friend. Ginny and Hermione exchanged similar looks and nodded their heads. “It will all be worth it if Voldemort is out of our lives for good.” Hermione said as she grabbed Harry’s hand. Harry looked down at their two hands joined together and let go of her hand. “There’s something else.” Harry said with difficulty. “What is it?” Hermione asked fearing the answer. “Since the prophecy I now know that it does have to be me who kills Voldemort. Me, no one else. So after Wormtail is gone and Voldemort comes for us I’m going to fight him alone.” Harry explained. “NO!! You can’t do that. I won’t let you.” Hermione said as she flung herself to Harry. She squeezed him tightly as if she would never see him again. Harry pulled her off him and looked at her intently in her eyes. “You know I love you more than anything. I would give my own life to protect you. And that’s exactly what I plan to do. I know you want to save me from myself right now but I have to do this. Please understand and don’t try to stop me. If I know you’re here safe, it’ll help me in the long run. I love you.” Harry finished and gave Hermione a loving kiss. She started to cry. So did Ginny. Ron and Draco gave Harry the biggest hug in the world.

Harry entered the great hall and found it weird to not see Dumbledore in his big chair. Other people noticed that too and started whispering to each other about where Dumbledore could be. Harry took his usual seat and Hermione sat down beside him. She held his hand once again. This time he never let go. Professor McGonagall entered looking completely distraught. She was really acting as if Dumbledore had died. It was very believable. As soon as she entered and everyone saw her they all broke out with chatter. But no one seemed to know what was up. No one except Harry and his friends of course. When Professor McGonagall made the announcement, no one could believe it. A lot of the girls were in tears and the guys were just in shock. Harry knew that most of them were terrified because what did this mean for the school. They probably thought they weren’t safe anymore because Dumbledore was the only person who scared Voldemort and with him gone all hell was about to break loose. He tried to look as upset and shocked as he could. It wasn’t easy though because he knew the truth. Ginny and Hermione even managed some tears of their own. Harry was waiting for a sign from McGonagall letting him know that she released Wormtail and when he got it he got up to leave. Hermione grabbed his arm before he could leave and she whispered “not yet.” Harry nodded and they all followed him out of the great hall. They returned to the common room. “I wanted to say my last goodbye.” Hermione said as she started to cry again. Harry wiped away her tears. “This isn’t goodbye. You have to believe that. No matter what trouble I’m in, your love will keep me alive. I will always love you Hermione Granger.” Harry said, then embraced her with a huge hug. “I will never stop loving you.” Hermione said between sobs. They kissed one more time before he got ready to leave. That kiss seemed to last an eternity. That kiss expressed all the love they had for each other. Harry said his goodbyes to his friends and went back up to the dorm for that thing in the trunk. He hid it in his cloak and made that dissension downstairs. He felt like he was moving in slow motion because he knew what lay ahead for him. He hugged everybody one last time and left them wondering if that was the last time they would see Harry Potter.

Chapter 45Deep Thought

Harry’s entire body shook with nervousness. If he was going to fulfill his destiny, he would have to overcome this human emotion of pure terror. You couldn’t think you’re possibly going to defeat the evilest sorcerer in the world while being completely terrified. Harry was outside in the dark of night. The moon’s bright light was reflecting off his glasses. Harry stopped walking in his tracks and pulled out the only two weapons he had to defeat Voldemort. He had one in each hand and he looked at both with intensity, for these were the only things standing between him and death. If he counted himself, he was the biggest weapon of all. He was so tired of being tortured by Voldemort. Voldemort had been torturing him for 16 years too long. After Voldemort had taken the 3 most dearest people in his life away from him, and Harry having to be raised with neglect and abuse from his Aunt and Uncle who could care less if he just keeled over and died and wouldn’t turn away from their precious Dudley, he was ready to go mad. Finally destroying Voldemort would make his world sain and safe again. He would be free. Free to enjoy and share his life with Hermione. He was thinking that if he made it through this he would ask Hermione to marry him. After all, they loved each other deeply and truly. Sure they were young, but after everything they’ve been through, marriage would be the easy part. Harry put away the weapons and looked up at the moon and said these words… “This is for you mum, dad, Sirius. I love you and miss you each and everyday. You didn’t deserve to die the way you did. I swear you guys won’t die in vain. I will kill Voldemort so that no one else has to know the pain of losing someone you love. I won’t fail you guys.”

OMG!! It's been an entire year since I started this ff. 1 year anniversary baby. Yeah!

Chapter 46:Voldemort Up To No Good

When Wormtail finally reached Voldemort’s hideout he was sweating because he was so extremely fearful for his life. He knew that Voldemort could kill him in an instant and not even blink an eye. He entered Voldemort’s presence and his throat got completely dry. He couldn’t even speak he was so terrified. He cleared his throat and nervously said “Master?” Voldemort who was looking into the fire place turned around and flared his snake like nostrils. “Where is Snape?” He asked. “He’s…dead.” Wormatil answered. Voldemort’s eyes turned a violent shade of red. “WHAT HAPPENED!!” Voldemort screamed. Wormtail jumped back in fear. “We were attacked by Potter and his friends.” Wormtail replied. “You mean to tell me that you were defeated by a couple of kids?” Voldemort questioned. “No master… Dumbledore showed up too, with some Hogwarts teachers.” Wormtail said. “The meddlesome fool. How I hate that man.” Voldemort said more to himself than Wormtail. “Even though we lost Snape, something good did happen and I think you will be pleased with this news.” Wormtail said. Voldemort looked curious, which is not an expression he does often. “What is this good news?” Voldemort asked. “We killed Dumbledore.” Wormtail replied. Voldemort looked like a little school boy around Christmas. “Dumbledore is dead?” Voldemort repeated. “Yes. Is Master pleased with this news?” Wormtail asked nervously. “I most certainly am. Now losing Snape on the other hand is not good news. I still had plans for him. Oh well. Dumbledore’s death more than makes up for that.” Voldemort said. “I managed to escape when they were distracted with Dumbledore’s body hitting the floor.” Wormtail explained. Voldemort erupted with laughter. This scared Peter even more than death because hearing Voldemort laugh was worst than hearing nails on a chalk board. The vison of Dumbledore’s old dead body crashing to the floor was so hilarious to Voldemort. “Now is the perfect time to attack. The wizarding world will be focused on Dumbledore’s death. This is the time to destroy all those who dare cross me. We strike at midnight Wormtail. Be ready.” Voldemort demanded.

Chapter 47:Fear

"I'm so scared. I fear that I may never see him again. Now I truly understand what you felt when Draco left Gin." Said Hermione. "I'm going to tell you something that you told me. You said, you can't think that way. And it's true. If you think that way, if you let yourself go to that dark place, you may never be able to get out of there. You can't have that fear that Harry won't come back. Fear is what Voldemort uses. He uses fear to get to you and destroy you. So please, listen to me like I listened to you. He will come back to you. He has to much to look forward to to lose now." Ginny said seriously.
