Hey y'all! It's Katie...again. I'm writing another Dramione fic! It's going to be awesome! OK, we all know how the books go, but so far, the seventh has yet to be printed. I'm changing some things around, so don't be too alarmed! So I'm going to take the age-old story of Hermione as Head Girl, but Harry as Head Boy. They're quite happy with this arrangement, until Harry has to leave on his Horcrux hunt. And who better to take his place then...Draco Malfoy!
Disclaimer: I own nothing in this story, except the story line, and the few made-up characters that I own. JK Rowling owns the Harry Potter characters, and nothing I do can change that!

Hermione was going back to Hogwarts for her final year; just the thought of having to face Draco Malfoy again. It was bad enough that he was the cause of Dumbledore's death, but the fact that she dated him secretly for two years was almost unbearable. No one had known, not even Harry. Hermione had managed to forget Draco though, and now she was happily dating Harry Potter.

She had three hours until she had to board the Hogwarts Express, and she decided to go for a walk. Walking through the park by her house always cleared her mind. But not today.

She was walking by her favorite rest stop when she heard a rustling in the bushes. She approached them cautiously. You could never be too careful nowadays.

"Oh!" She yelped, and a fuzzy brown owl popped out of the bush. Hermione relaxed. "Bunny, what are you doing down there?" She picked up the tiny creature. Bunny hooted indignantly.

"What have you got there?" Bunny had a note tied to it's leg. She opened it and began to read.

Hermione,
I found your owl by my house, hooting like crazy. I let it in, and it flew to my parchment and quills, and I thought to write you a letter. This is it. I miss you terribly, and I would do anything to have you back. Please understand and forgive me.

"Why that little....oh!" Hermione exclaimed with rage, and crumpled the letter up. The letter had hurt her badly. Tears welled up, and she took Bunny and ran home. She slammed the door shut behind her.

"Hermione? Is that you dear?" Her mother called from the living room.

"Yes mother, I was just going upstairs to make sure that I packed Bunny's toys." Hermione lied.

"All right dear..." Her mother said. Her father grunted.

"Stupid name for an owl....[i]Bunny[/I[...." Hermione heard papers rustle, and knew her dad was reading the paper. She ran into her room and cried.

Draco watched the tiny owl fly away. His heart was heavy, ever since Hermione broke them up. He loved her so much....he couldn't bear every second they were apart.

He walked over to his owl cage, sitting on the desk. He opened the secret compartment, and lifted out a small box. He sat on his bed, and caressed the diamond ring that lay inside. His memory turned...

"Hermione....please say you'll stay with me..."

Hermione bit her lip, but her hands gently pried themselves from Draco's grasp. Draco started to cry, for the first time in his life. Hermione teared up as well.

"Draco...you know I can't....it's been so much fun...but-"

"In two years, it won't matter anymore...please Hermione! I love you!"

Hermione reached into her pocket, and took out a small velvet box. Draco's breathing increased. Hermione placed it in his hand.

"Maybe if things had been different, Love..." And like that, she was gone...

Draco threw the ring across the room, into the owl cage. Narcissus, his owl, leapt and hooted, insulted. Draco stroked the big owl.

"Sorry boy..." He took the ring out and put it back in the box. This wasn't the first time he had done this, and Narcissus understood. He always did. And this wasn't the first time Draco was crying...over Hermione.

OK peeps! I hope this gets put up!

Draco came into the Room Of Requirement an hour before dinner. He closed the door. Hermione was sitting in one of the chairs, reading.

"All right Hermione, what's all this about?" Draco asked, and sat down next to her. Hermione closed her book.

"Draco, I'm really sorry about how Harry treated you. It wasn't right. And I'm trying to fix it." Draco touched her arm.

"Hermione, don't worry about it. It'll be fine. But why did you call me here?"

"Because...I want to tell Harry the truth. About us." Draco bolted upright.

"Hermione....you're kidding, right? Please tell me your kidding baby."

"No." Hermione said firmly. "I really want to tell him. I had a tlak with Kit before, and-"

"You told Weasly's girlfriend?" Draco slapped his forehead. Hard. "Well, now the cat's out of the bag."

"She knew already." Hermione protested. Draco glared at her. "Well, she did."

"And? What did the great counselor say?" Draco said sarcastically. Hermione folded her arms, disgusted. "What? Don't I have a right to know?"

"You're being ridiculous. And irrational." Herimione got up and turned away from him.

"Wait...what does irrational mean?" Draco's momentum was stopped by a moment of stupidity. Hermione rolled her eyes.

"Good job. Now, I have to go. I just wanted to tell you that I'm telling Harry. Tonight. At dinner." Hermione tried to push past him, but he stopped her.

"Hermione...please.....think about it. Don't tell him."

"Why?"

"Because...then...I could never see you again." Hermione bowed her head. "Hermione?"

"Please Draco...I'm doing this...for both of us. Don't think I want to do this..." Hermione wrenched herself free of his grasp, then faced him. She kissed him. He kissed her back, cherishing it, savoring it. She pulled away and left the room.

Draco came into the Great Hall and sat down next to Dave. He heaved a sigh and began to stare at his plate. Dave looked at him queerly.

"OK, what happened?"

Draco told Dave everything. Dave nodded.

"Yea, sounds about right. So, what are you going to do about it?"

"I'm going to stop her from telling him." Dave raised his eyebrow.

"How so?"

"I don't know. But I'm gonna. There's potential for us Dave. Smoking potential. And I refuse to just sit by and let it run away." Draco was adamant in his decision. Dave sighed.

"Well, there they are."

Draco watched Hermione greet Harry. He noticed Harry ignore her until he was finished eating. His blood boiled. How dare he just ignore Hermione like that. Draco raised his wand. Dave looked over at him.

"Draco...what are you doing?"

"Nothing." Draco uttered a quiet spell. Dave stopped eating.

"Draco! Hermione's choking!"

"What?" Draco pretended to be concerned. Dave stared at him.

"Your...girlfriend. Choking. Or does that not matter to you anymore."

"Kit's got it." They watched Kit save Hermione. "That wasn't too bad."

"Are you saying...you did that?" Dave stared, incredulous.

"I say nothing..." Draco got up and left. Dave chased after him.

"DRACO!" Dave caught up with him. Draco turned. "Why did you do that?"

"Because I need her...." Draco said. "And I won't let her go. I need her to keep her mouth shut...at least for a few more days."

Wow...that took me a long time to write....but there it is!

Hermione had to shake Harry off her tail. Harry had been following her all day, just making sure she was ok. It was getting pretty exasperating.

"Hermione, are you sure you're ok?" Harry asked her for the ninteith time. Hermione whirled around, eyes blazing.

"HARRY! I'm FINE! I just need to be alone right now, ok?"

Harry looked hurt. "Fine. I'll see you later."

Hermione was upset that she had hurt Harry, but she needed to find Draco. She had a feeling that choking on food she never ate didn't happen by accident. She wandered the castle, thinking to herself...

If I was a ferret....where would I be...?

She turned a corner, and BAM! There was Draco!

"AH!" Hermione yelped, then recovered. "Just the person I wanted to see."

"Oh?" Draco asked, not smiling.

"Yes. What did you do to me today?"

"Nothing. Oh, except the fact that I tried to change your mind about giving me up. Is that what you meant?"

"No! You tried to choke me today!" Hermione accused Draco. He looked hurt.

"Why Hermione...what would make you suspect an inn-"

"I hope you weren't going to say 'innocent', because you're not. You're the most not-innocent person in the whole castle! Why would you do that to me?"

Draco turned red, a startling contrast to his usual pale pallor. Hermione grew a little worried. Was he this upset over...her? Maybe she had made a mistake...

"Because...I just don't want to give you up Hermione. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. And I have a pretty good idea the feeling's mutual, if I'm not being too presumptious."

"No, no you're not..." Hermione said softly. Draco stepped foward.

"Then...I suppose you you don't hate me either, right?"

"No...no of course I don't hate you..." Hermione stepped closer to Draco. He put his arms around her. She closed her eyes....

"HERMIONE! MALFOY!" Hermione's eyes snapped open. Draco pulled away from her. Who could be shrieking at them?

Harry. Harry was in the hallway. Harry was watching them. Harry saw her almost kiss Draco. What had she done?

"H-Harry...wh-what are you doing here?"

"I followed you. Kit and Ron wanted us to go to Hogsmeade with them. I guess I'll just tell them you and Malfoy will be going instead."

"Harry, please-"

"Shut up you b*tch. I've had enough of you." Harry started to walk away, but them Draco took his arm.

"Look, we can discuss this like-"

"Get off of me scum-bag. I don't want you touching me. I don't even want you breathing near me. Just get away, and take her with you."

Harry stormed off, tears blurring his vision. Hermione fell to the ground, crying. Draco went over to comfort her. She tried to push him away, but he held on.

"Hermione...let me fix him...he just....needs some time to think. Give him another chance, please?"

Hermione moaned into his shoulder.

"Yes, I know. He wasn't being fair. But please, let me try and talk to him. Maybe you could talk to Kit. She can help us."

Hermione sat up slowly, tears staining her face.

"Do you...do you think we can get to her before Harry does?"

"Kit, yes. Ron? Well...maybe not. But Kit has a great influence on him. Maybe we can get him on our side as well, ok?"

"Oh, I hope you're right." Hermione sobbed.

I just looked at the calender. It's my one-year anniversary here at SS! So proud! *cries* I'd like to thank all the little people! AND MY FANS! WHOOT WHOOT!

Kit was walking out of the Ravenclaw Common Room. She was on her way to meet Ron. She sighed. She really loved being with Ron. And not just because he was a red head, like her. He was such a sweet, kind person, and he was very affectionate.

"KIT!" Kit heard someone call her name. She looked around and, seeing no one, kept walking. "KIT!"

"What!" She said, exasperated, and Hermione turned the corner. "Oh, hi Hermione. What's-"

"No time...remember...what....said....Harry?" Hermione gasped out. She clutched her side in pain.

"Uh...I'd remember better if I knew what you were talking about." Kit waited for Hermione to catch up. "Now tell me what's going on."

"Well...I tried to tell Harry about Draco and I...you know, the other day?"

"Uh huh..."

"And today..Harry ran into Draco and I...and...he broke up with me."

"What?" Kit stopped dead in her tracks. "Are you kidding me?"

"No...but Draco's going to fix it. We just wanted you to know. And we tried to talk to him, but-"

"Hermione...I don't understand...but whatever. Yes, I'm on your side. I'll talk to Ron and see what he can do to help Harry calm down. But girl, you're not doing your part to help."

"What do you mean?"

"I need you to stop hanging out with Draco so much, you know?"

Hermione grimiced. Kit sighed. "Now what?"

"But...I love him. So much. You don't understand..."

"Hermione. I don't have to understand. Facts are facts. You cheated on Harry. Now you have to make things right." Hermione's step faultered.

"Kit...do you really think I can make this right?"

"Of course Hermiome. Now, let's go."

Hermione and Kit searched for Ron. Hermione's mind was working frantically. Could she convince Harry that it had all been a mistake. No....such....luck. They found him: with Harry. Ron's ears were red, a sure sign that he was mad. And Harry's face looked worse: It looked hopeless.

"Ron...Harry." Kit held Hermione's hand tightly, to reassure her. Hermione grasped it back as well. "What's up guys?"

"Kit...I assume you know just as much as we do. So why are you still with her?" Ron asked. No friendliness in his voice. None at all.

"Not really Ron. See, YOU only know what Harry told you. I, on the other hand, know exactly what happened, because Hermione has been gracious enough to tell me."

"And? What did that lying cheat tell you?" Harry asked, infuriated.

"Hermione told me that all she was doing was telling Draco-"

"Draco??" Ron said.

"-that she didn't want to date him anymore. That she wanted to be with Harry. ONLY Harry. Draco went to hug her, and that's when Harry came in. See? I'll bet you anything that's not what Harry said."

"Is this true, Hermione?" Ron asked her. Hermione hung her head. "Hermione?"

"I don't feel like talking right now. I just want to-"

"Of course not. We're all just wasting her time. She wants to be with Malfoy. Just get her out of my sight." Harry turned from Hermione. Her eyes filled with tears.

"I suppose..." She walked up to Harry. "I suppose that we're not dating anymore?"

"You bet."

"And...I suppose you hate me?"

"Yes I do."

"And.." Hermione's voice faultered. "And I guess...you would want me to die right now."

"Possibly." Harry refused to look at her. Hermione nodded.

"Then this is goodbye, right?"

"No. You don't get a goodbye. Just go away." Harry turned from her.

"So be it." Hermione walked away. Kit and Ron looked at him.

"Did you mean that? About her dying?"

"Of course not. She'll get over it. But right now, I don't feel like talking to anyone right onw. I'd better go." Harry also left, leaving Kit and Ron standing in the middle of the corridor.

Draco was walking back to the Slytherin Common Room. He wanted to talk to Dave about this. Dave always put things in perspective for him.

"What a guy..." Draco sighed aloud. It was true. Dave was a great guy. A much better friend that Crabbe or Goyle had ever been.

"Draco?" Draco jumped.

"Hermione?" Hermione emerged from the shadows. "What on earth are you doing down here? If anyone here sees a Gryffindor here, they'd-"

"Please Draco. This is important. I...I just talked to Harry."

"And?"

"He....he said he didn't care whether I lived or died."

"Oh Hermione...he didn't mean that..." Draco took her into his arms. She stood there, unresponsive. He pulled away, and looked at her queerly.

"Draco...I'm going to do as he says."

"Hermione...that's-"

"But there's more."

"What?" Draco stared at her, as though he'd never seen her before.

"I need you to come with me."

It's drawing to a close now....the suspense is killing me!

i just finished reading and now i hear your going to end it soon

And another thing: OMG HERMIONE!!! i can't beleive her!! Aww i don't want her to die. :'( Anyway. I love the fic!! (even though it's ending) *turns away and crys* oh well, love it anyway
