Hey y'all! It's Katie...again. I'm writing another Dramione fic! It's going to be awesome! OK, we all know how the books go, but so far, the seventh has yet to be printed. I'm changing some things around, so don't be too alarmed! So I'm going to take the age-old story of Hermione as Head Girl, but Harry as Head Boy. They're quite happy with this arrangement, until Harry has to leave on his Horcrux hunt. And who better to take his place then...Draco Malfoy! Disclaimer: I own nothing in this story, except the story line, and the few made-up characters that I own. JK Rowling owns the Harry Potter characters, and nothing I do can change that! Hermione was going back to Hogwarts for her final year; just the thought of having to face Draco Malfoy again. It was bad enough that he was the cause of Dumbledore's death, but the fact that she dated him secretly for two years was almost unbearable. No one had known, not even Harry. Hermione had managed to forget Draco though, and now she was happily dating Harry Potter.
She had three hours until she had to board the Hogwarts Express, and she decided to go for a walk. Walking through the park by her house always cleared her mind. But not today.
She was walking by her favorite rest stop when she heard a rustling in the bushes. She approached them cautiously. You could never be too careful nowadays.
"Oh!" She yelped, and a fuzzy brown owl popped out of the bush. Hermione relaxed. "Bunny, what are you doing down there?" She picked up the tiny creature. Bunny hooted indignantly.
"What have you got there?" Bunny had a note tied to it's leg. She opened it and began to read.
Hermione,
I found your owl by my house, hooting like crazy. I let it in, and it flew to my parchment and quills, and I thought to write you a letter. This is it. I miss you terribly, and I would do anything to have you back. Please understand and forgive me.

Draco
"Why that little....oh!" Hermione exclaimed with rage, and crumpled the letter up. The letter had hurt her badly. Tears welled up, and she took Bunny and ran home. She slammed the door shut behind her.
"Hermione? Is that you dear?" Her mother called from the living room.
"Yes mother, I was just going upstairs to make sure that I packed Bunny's toys." Hermione lied.
"All right dear..." Her mother said. Her father grunted.
"Stupid name for an owl....[i]Bunny[/I[...." Hermione heard papers rustle, and knew her dad was reading the paper. She ran into her room and cried.

Draco watched the tiny owl fly away. His heart was heavy, ever since Hermione broke them up. He loved her so much....he couldn't bear every second they were apart.
He walked over to his owl cage, sitting on the desk. He opened the secret compartment, and lifted out a small box. He sat on his bed, and caressed the diamond ring that lay inside. His memory turned...
"Hermione....please say you'll stay with me..."
Hermione bit her lip, but her hands gently pried themselves from Draco's grasp. Draco started to cry, for the first time in his life. Hermione teared up as well.
"Draco...you know I can't....it's been so much fun...but-"
"In two years, it won't matter anymore...please Hermione! I love you!"
Hermione reached into her pocket, and took out a small velvet box. Draco's breathing increased. Hermione placed it in his hand.
"Maybe if things had been different, Love..." And like that, she was gone...
Draco threw the ring across the room, into the owl cage. Narcissus, his owl, leapt and hooted, insulted. Draco stroked the big owl.
"Sorry boy..." He took the ring out and put it back in the box. This wasn't the first time he had done this, and Narcissus understood. He always did. And this wasn't the first time Draco was crying...over Hermione.

Harry and Lupin started a big fight over that. Harry started packing the minute after he got Hermione's letter. Lupin came into his room, limping. Harry waved a hello and threw more clothes into his suitcase.
"Harry..."
"What is it Remus?" Harry asked.
"Let's not get too hasty here...."
"Hasty?? What do you mean hasty? My girlfriend is bunking with my worst enemy! She needs me right now!"
"Harry, the whole world needs you right now. I need you! We need to think this over carefully-"
"Do what you want Remus. But I'm leaving. Hermione needs me, and nothing can stop me from going-"
"Harry, you've been like a son to me. Now sit down and shut up!"
Harry stopped packing and sat down on his bed.
"Now, Harry, let's be logical. You want to drop all the work we've been doing, just because Hermione's getting a little upset. That doesn't make any sense. I need you to stay here. Send Malfoy a curse by mail, God knows he needs one. Just stay here! I need you here!"
Harry looked down at the ground. He looked back up at Lupin.
"You gotta big envelope?"
Lupin grinned.
"I always keep one, just in case." He handed it to Harry. "Make it a goody."

That evening, Lupin went to bed early. Hedwig was sleeping in Harry's room, her head under her wing. Harry tiptoed, as to not wake her or Lupin. He crept around the hut, picking up things, and putting away items. Then he took out his invisibility cloak. He placed a note on the wooden table, and got out his trunk. He turned towards Lupin's room.
"I'm sorry Remus....my priorities are right where they should be."
He left the hut and disapparated.

Lupin awoke with a start after hearing a large crack. He bolted upright in bed.
"Harry?" He called, and scrambled out of bed. Reaching for his robe, he fumbled around in the dark until he found a candle. He lit it, and walked around the hut. "Harry? Hedwig?"
He heard a hooting coming from Harry's room. Hedwig was flying around frantically, hooting.
"Hedwig, Hedwig, calm down. Hedwig, come down." Hedwig landed on Lupin's head, still calling out nervously. "C'mon, let's go find Harry."
They walked into the kitchen, where Lupin found a note. He picked it up, reading with growing disappointment.
Dear Remus,
I'm sorry. I can't leave her alone. I'll come back. Keep in touch with Hedwig. I'll see you later, as soon as business is finished here.
Harry
Lupin hit himself on his forehead.
"Harry, you fool....you poor, love-struck fool."
Hedwig hooted in agreement.

Harry sent two letters as soon as he got to the nearest post office. One to Hermione, and one to Draco.

Hermione left her last class for the day, alone. Usually, Kit walked with her, but now Kit wasn't her friend anymore. This made Hermione depressed, irritated, and distracted. Her grades started to slip. She started not caring about important dates, especially the DA meetings. They just didn't seem as important to her. Which is why she was meeting up with Ginny, Luna, and Neville. She came outside and saw the three of them together. Good. She walked over to them.
"Hey guys. Glad you could come."
"Yea Hermione, but what's this all about?" Ginny asked. Neville and Luna agreed.
"Well, you guys may have noticed that I've been....well, a little off kilter lately."
"Well, do you count the time you left Charms?" Luna asked abesnt-mindedly.
"Yes Luna, even that."
"Then no." Hermione threw up her hands.
"Well, the point is, I can't handle everything that I'm doing right now, and that includes DA meetings. Now, out of everyone, you guys have a grip on what we're doing the most. So.....I want you guys to temperarily take charge of the DA, until I get things sorted out. OK?"
"Sure we will." Neville said excitedly. "You can count on us Hermione!"
"Thanks guys. OK, I have to-OOF!"
Hermione's skull crashed into a small owl. The owl hooted and swooped around her head, holding a letter. Hermione grabbed it out of the air, and untied the note. The owl zoomed off, still making noises.
"What's that Hermione?" Ginny asked, curious.
"Letter from Harry. I got to go." She walked away, unfolding the letter.
Dear Hermione,
I'm on my way down. Stay away from Malfoy. As soon as I get there, I'll take care of him. Stay near Ron, Ginny, Kit, you know who to go to.
I love you,
Harry
Hermione's face was glad, then shocked. Harry....coming here? And if she knew Harry...and she did....that meant he was coming to beat up Draco! She had to warn him. But how?

Draco was up in their dorm, eating an apple. He was reading up on ancient hexes and spells. He turned the page, when something hit his bedroom window. He jumped up and went over to it. He opened the window, and was attacked by an owl.
"Ow ow ow...hang on, stop it.." He gave the owl a treat, and it dropped it's letter. It flew out the window as quickly as it had come in. "Bloody bird.."
He picked up the letter and began to read.
Malfoy,
I want you to LEAVE MY GIRLFRIEND ALONE! I'm leaving my Horcrux hunt and coming for you. I want you out of there. I want you away from Hermione. I don't want you to be Head Boy. You're gonna wish you never got that position. Last warning: LEAVE HERMIONE ALONE!

"Oh...my..." He stared into space, and didn't hear Hermione come in.
"Draco!" Hermione ran into his room, and wrapped her arms around him. "I just got a letter from Harry. What are we going to do?"

Harry arrived at Hogsmeade late on Friday. He was tired and hungry. He went to The Three Broomsticks to get a room and a meal. Madam Rosmerta got him settled, and Harry went to sleep.
The next morning, he woke up early. He left a note for Rosmerta, asking her not to remove his things, he wasn't sure when he'd be back. He headed up to Hogwarts. He passed The Whomping Willow, and entered the castle. He waved to several students, and had a chat with Nearly Headless Nick. He went on his way. He spotted Neville and said hi to him.
"Oh Harry! Glad to see you! How's everything?"
"Going fine Neville.What's happening with you?"
"Ginny, Luna, and I are new instructors for the DA. Since Hermione's all busy and stuff." Neville shrugged, but you could tell he was happy to be in charge of something.
"Good for you Neville. Listen, where's Hermione right now?"
"Um...I think she's in Charms right now. D'you want me to fetch for her?"
"No thanks Neville. But where's Malfoy?"
"I.....do believe he's in Herbology right now, why?"
"No particular reason...see you later Neville."
"Bye Harry!"
Harry made his way by the Greenhouses. As he walked, the bell rang. Students poured out of the greenhouses. Harry searched for a platinum-blonde head, and was not disappointed. He was followed by a boy with brown hair that Harry didn't know. Harry caught part of their conversation as they came unknowingly closer.
".....so you think Harry's coming back?"
"I'm not sure Dave. I hope not. But I don't know what Hermione told him."
"Why don't you ask him yourself?" Harry asked pleasently, then punched Malfoy in the face.
Malfoy went spinning and landed hard on the ground. Dave tried to catch him, but Harry tripped him up, and Dave went sprawling. Malfoy got up in a daze, and Harry landed an uppercut on Malfoy's jaw. Malfoy's lower lip began to bleed. Dave got up and held Harry back. Harry elbowed him in the stomach, and left Dave heaving. He got on top of Malfoy and began punching him everywhere his fists could reach.
"you...bloody....b*st*rd!....don't.....you...ever.....come....near....my....
girlfriend....again....do you understand me?"
Malfoy threw Harry off himself and almost punched him. But he stopped himself.
"I'm not going to hurt you Harry...for Hermione's sake."
Harry roared and went at him again.

Hermione was on her way to Transfiguration, when she heard shouting. He looked around, and grabbed Neville.
"Neville! What's going on?"
"Harry's back! And he's beating up Malfoy!" Neville said breathlessly, then ran to see it. Hermione followed, her heart in her mouth. She saw Harry getting thrown off Draco, then Draco stopping himself from hitting Harry. She saw Harry go to attack Draco again. She screamed.
"Harry! Draco!" She shouted with all her might, but only Draco heard her.
"Hermione! Help-" Draco's words were cut off by a well placed punch. Hermione shrieked and ran to them.
"HARRY! DRACO!" She cried out louder, but Harry was too much in a blind rage to hear her. She tripped, and landed on Draco, lying on the ground. There was no way to avoid it.
Harry knocked her unconscience.

Harry saw Hermione coming towards him. But before he could stop, Hermione had tripped and landed on Draco. He couldn't stop himself. He punched out Hermione. Hermione crumpled to the ground.
"Hermione! Oh my god....HERMIONE!" Malfoy cried out, and cradled her in his arms. He glared at Harry. "You b*st*rd! How could you do this?"
"I...I was-" Harry started to protest, to explain himself, but Malfoy put up a hand to stop him.
"Save it! I need to get her to Madam Pomfrey."
"Please, let me help-" Harry reached for her.
"I think you've done quite enough." A voice said coldly. Malfoy and Harry turned to see Professor McGonagall. "Harry, glad to see you, although not under these circumstances. Mr. Malfoy, please take Miss Granger to the hospital wing. Mr. Potter, my office."
"But Professor-"
"No buts Mr. Potter. MOVE IT!" Harry hung his head, and followed the Head Mistress, while Malfoy carried Hermione towards the Hospital Wing. Harry started to growl. "ENOUGH, Mr. Potter."
Harry and McGonagal went to Dumbledore's old office, now McGonagalls. She spoke the password, and they ascended into the office. McGonagall sat doen on the chair, while Harry stood before her.
"Well?"
"Well what, Professor?"
"What did you mean, coming here to attack Mr. Malfoy. Or as I should say, our Head Boy?"
"Professor, he was going for Hermione. And he was bugging her alot. I couldn't just stand aside-"
"Yes you could have. Miss Granger knows to come to me when things aren't going right between her and another student. You had no right to barge into Hogwarts simply to put another student out of commission. I am ashamed of you, Mr. Potter."
"Professor, I'm sorry-"
"Mr. Potter, I have half a mind to expell you right now."

Draco carried Hermione up to the Hospital Wing. He tried to do it as gently as possible. She was unconscience, and Draco was worried about her. He walked into the Wing, and put her on the first bed he saw. Madam Pomfrey bustled in, and stopped short.
"Mr Malfoy, what...Miss Granger?"
"Yes Madam Pomfrey." Draco said, tired.
"Both of you look terrible! No fights between the Head students, right?"
"Not between Hermione and I, Madam Pomfrey, but between Harry and I."
"Harry?" Madam Pomfrey said incredulously. "He's away right now." She put a cold compress on Hermione's head, and began looking at Draco's eye, which was swollen.
"No, he's back. He came just to do this to me."
"Did he now?" Madam Pomfrey put some goop on Draco's eye, and his eye was back to normal. "And why would Harry do that?"
"Because he thinks I was hitting on Hermione."
"Well, that's your affair, pardon the pun. Well, your fine now. Just let the little cuts heal, and see me in two days. I want to check on your eye. Sometimes, that spread has nasty side-effects."
"Like what?" Draco turned back at her nervously, hand on the door.
"Oh, trust me, you don't want to know. Now, run along Mr. Malfoy."
