This is the story of Harry and Ginny’s forbidden romance at the end of book 6 and replacing book 7. Dumbledore was killed, but instead of the Weasley’s being happy that Ginny and Harry got together they have disowned him and stopped her from seeing him telling her she will be in danger if she continues to. Ron was not happy about his sister and best friend dating and has not spoken to Harry since, whilst Hermione has been silent on the subject though siding with Ron but they are not yet dating. Harry without the approval of the order or the family has been sneaking to see Ginny, whenever he can get way from the Dursley’s, by broom and Knight Bus. Both he and Ginny don’t want to break up and both know about the dangers but they want to face them with each other.

Chapter one

They sat on the couch embraced in each others arms, there smiles of happiness were not to be taken away. He gently caresses her cheek with his hand while whispering in her ear. They were alone in the Burrow, and now they could be together without any interference.

“Harry, do you think they’ll ever be ok with us”
“Hmm” he nodded absentmindedly, “Eventually Gin, when will they be back?”
“Not for a while yet, you have time to leave before they do”
“I don’t want to have to go, it doesn’t seem right for me to have to leave you with them”
“It’s just for now; we just have to be patient”
“I suppose” He closed his eyes in thought. Then spoke,
“What did you say to them to get out of shopping today?”
She smiled putting on a faint voice and pretend cough,
“I just – cough- don’t think im up to it today-cough- its best I stay and rest” she giggled as he kissed her forehead.

“That’s very naughty” his kissed moved down the side of her face and neck as she continued to laugh and then turned around to kiss him passionately on the lips whilst sitting on his lap. There arms wrapped around each other tightly both hoping never to pull away when there was the sound of popping outside.

“Quick Harry, upstairs now” they ran up the stairs as the group came chatting into the house. “Ginny, Ginny” her mother called but there was no reply, “She’s probably asleep, Hermione could you check for me while I put the shopping away. “Of course Mrs Weasley”

Ginny threw herself into the bed and pulled the covers around her while Harry darted underneath it hidden by the valance sheet and boxes. “Ginny” Hermione whispered after knocking gently “Are you awake?”
She laid, eyes closed cocooned in the quilt breathing softly, the door closed as Hermione left to report to Molly.
Ginny began to giggle quietly stifling it using her covers as Harry breathed a sigh of relief
“It’s not funny” he crawled out “this is the third time I’ve had to hide, what if we get caught together Ron would kill me, and then your mother would dig me up, resurrect me and kill me again”
“I know, I know” she smiled at him, he could never be mad at her when she smiled,
“Why don’t you come and stay with me, im going to the leaky cauldron in two days, I can’t stand to stay at the Dursley’s any longer, and with there being no chance of me staying here my only other option is Grimmald Place which isn’t really very inviting” She nodded slightly and then pushed his head back under the bed at the sound of approaching footsteps.

Her mother strolled in to the room looking worried,
“Are you ok dear, Hermione said you were asleep but its time for something to eat”
“I just woke up now; I’m feeling a lot better actually. I think I might come down for some dinner in a minute” She stretched and feigned a yawn for her mothers gratification,
“Ok” her mother lent in and kissed her forehead affectionately,
“Ginny, you know that I’m doing this for the best” she perched herself on the bed next to her,
“Doing what?” She looked at her hoping for her not to continue,
“You and Harry, your not seeing him is for your own good”
“How is it, how is keeping me away from him in the holidays going to stop me from seeing him at school, it’s his last year and he has to face voldemort he needs all the love and support he can get but you, your disowning him and cutting him out of the only family he has”
“He’s only attached to you out of fear, you your self noticed the resemblance between you and his mother. He may care about you but he’s not going to put you in danger, I won’t let him”
“Harry would never do that to me; it’s not fear that’s brought us together only to have you rip us apart, it’s something more”
Mrs Weasley got up to leave, “Dinner will be ready soon”
“I’ve lost my appetite”

She left as Ginny began to sob into the quilt; Harry crawled out quickly and wrapped his arms around her holding her so close she could feel his heart beating slowly and the rhythm of his chest as he breathed in and out.

“It’s all going to work out, I know it will” He whispered softly to her
“How do you know Harry, how?”She looked into his emerald eyes pleading with him,
“I just do”

He held on to her snugly, then kissing her forehead and lips said his goodbyes and made his way to the window for the third time in three long weeks. She handed him his broom from her wardrobe and watched him flyway tears pouring, her heart breaking.

Ginny laid under the quilt, her eyes red and swollen she had silently cried herself to sleep ignoring any attempt from Hermione to talk to her. Hermione wouldn’t understand she knew she wouldn’t so there was no point in trying to explain. Her stomach began to make noises starved of dinner and breakfast, it was approaching lunch time and she refused to move. As soon as Hermione had left the room that morning Ginny had locked the door and gone back to bed, she couldn’t get up she didn’t want to. She reached over to the bedside table and settled her stomach with a glass of water, but it didn’t help. She needed the toilet, now she would have to get up.

She sat on her bed considering her options, sit here and be miserable, go downstairs and be miserable, go to Harry’s and be happy. She stood up and then remembered he was at the Dursley’s, she would go any way. She grabbed a rucksack from her cupboard, packing muggle and wizarding clothes. She changed into a black t-shirt and blue jeans, placed her money bag in her pocket, put her rucksack on and crept downstairs her wand drawn at anyone who was going to stop her. No one did. The house was silent then she heard laughter from the garden. She looked out the window and saw them all laughing sitting in the sun, they wouldn’t even know she was gone. Moving quietly she slid out the front door down the path and out of the garden gate to begin her descent down the hill towards a set of woods where she would signal down the Knight Bus.

She stoped at the woods entrance and held out her wand. The large, purple, triple Decker bus appeared before her and she climbed on board. “Privet drive, Little Whinging, Surrey please”

It stoped on the street, she stepped of giving her thanks to the conductor and walked down the pavement the sun shining brightly as she searched for number four.
Upon finding it she strode towards the door and knocked. “Yes” Said Petunia Dursley her yellow rubber gloved hands on her hips.
“Im here to see Harry” Ginny didn’t smile or even try and be polite she knew this woman didn’t deserve it.
“Hmm” her lips pursed, she glanced around the street nervously before grabbing her arm with her bony fingers and pulling her inside in fear of what the neighbours would think.
“He’s upstairs, second door on the right. Take off your shoes before you go up the stairs I’ve just vacuumed and be quiet I don’t want Vernon knowing you’re here.” She sneered before going into the living room and informing her husband it was just a salesman at the door.

Chapter Sixty-Six (PART ONE!)

“I now call to the stand Lucius Malfoy”
He stood up and everyone turned to look at him, he bowed slightly a smile on his face even though he knew his fate.
“You are to stand before this court charged with the murder and assault with the use of magic on an unknown number of muggles and Wizards and witches. Your life now rests in the hands of the Wizengamot how do you plea to these crimes”
“Not guilty, I was under the imperious curse”
Another member of the Wizengamot stood up “You said that the last time you joined he who shall not be named, why should we believe you this time”
“He took my son and wife into the curse as well, as a upstanding citizen of the wizarding community I implore you to see sense, I would never willingly betray all that magic means to me” Draco listened and then stood up “Am I allowed to speak against him?” he said looking to the minister but it was Lady Flagstaff who replied “Of course, say your piece”
“My father knowingly committed crimes in the name of the Dark Lord, so did I. He was never under the imperious curse at any point, and as Harry will tell you it was at his manor that Lord Voldemort died and where Miss Weasley was kidnapped and held, my father the guard at her cell. Harry came to see me in prison knowing I would know where Voldemort was, I was never under the imperious either and I told him where to go - Malfoy Manor.” Harry nodded as the people and Wizengamot turned for him for conformation at what Draco was saying. Lucius turned on his son whispering in anger,
“You stupid boy, don’t you want your freedom?”
“By doing the right thing, by helping Harry and being a decent human being for once”
“You’re acting like a stupid muggle”
“Rather that then a wizard like you” He replied and sat down Lucius lent on the wooden stand “I stand by what I said”
“The Wizengamot vote please” Said Rufus raising his hand “All in favour of life imprisonment”
Every member of the Wizengamot raised there hands,
“Take him down for processing” Said the minister banging the gavel on the desk. Draco sighed in his seat rubbing his forehead.
“You did the right thing, it doesn’t always feel good but you get there in the end’ said Harry
“Yeh, yeh, he’s evil but he’s still my dad”
“You could always just be a better one then he was”
“Suppose” he shrugged sitting up as the court settled down and Scrimgeour spoke again,
“I now call up Narsissa Malfoy nee’ Black to stand before the court” she did rather shakily,
“You’ve been charged in relation to consorting with the mass murderer and Dark Wizard known as Lord Voldemort, there was however no evidence found that you ever committed any acts of murder, assault or any criminal offences against Wizards and muggles alike only that you aided and abetted said Dark Wizard, how do you plea?”
“Guilty” she whispered in a small voice, it seemed prison had taken a lot out of her even though it had only been a couple of weeks.
“We find it fitting that you should be released from the containment of the Phoenix Prison” So that’s what the place was called thought Harry “And placed in Azkaban for a period of twelve months, how does this sentence fair with the Wizengamot, for raise hands now” they all raised there hands apart from one,
“Wizard brother Mc Cumhaill, what is your objection?”
“I think she should get a longer sentence” Said the gruff old wizard,
“And why do you believe that?”
“Because there’s no way she supported Voldemort and didn’t kill, injure or maim anyone”
“She didn’t” Said Amy speaking up “All the time I stayed in that manor or we were sent out on missions she never hurt anyone”
‘Yeh” said Angie “Only cause she was too scared to do anything, she was useless not willingly to hex anyone” she said with a grin “Just like you Amy, so you’d really fit into there family as a scared little Malfoy”
“Rather Malfoy then O’Malley twin any day if it means I’m with Draco”
“That’s enough ladies” said the minister banging his gavel on the table,
Amy and Angie sat down Angie fuming that Amy had gotten the last word in.
“Mrs Narsissa Malfoy you are hereby sentenced to twelve months imprisonment in Azkaban” she stood wobbling for a second, Draco’s eyes on her. Then she fainted, Harry leapt up and reached out being the closest and caught her before she hit the floor or her head on the wooden stand, the crowd all gasped and started to talk,
“Mrs Malfoy, Mrs Malfoy” he repeated her head lolled slightly as guards rushed over and a healer was called for.
“Court adjourned for thirty minutes” yelled Scrimgeour over the chatter of the crowd as he left his seat and walked over.
“Mother” Said Draco, he tried to move to be closer but the chains stopped him, “Mother” he said again, Harry shook her slightly and her eyes blinked as she was lifted from his arms and put on a stretcher.
“She’ll be ok Draco” Said Harry patting him on the shoulder, as Draco sighed his head in his knees, he turned to look at them taking her away and as the door opened he caught a glance at the long red hair in the doorway, she was waiting.

They remained chained to each other as the five of them were escorted out the door.
“Harry” she yelled and ran over, “Hey” he smiled turning his head back to her as they were made to keep moving and she was kept back from them by a guard.
“Let go of me” she said angrily and he grinned “Behave Gin or you might end up in here with me” he was prodded in the back with a wand and the door closed them into a room keeping her from him again. Then he had an idea. ‘Ginny’ he thought hard reaching out to her,
‘Harry!’ he smiled she could shout even though she was in his head. He replayed over the image of Narsissa fainting, she showed him of her holding Nehelenia and walking in the great hall in front of the whole school. He was just about to apologise when he was interrupted
“What you grinning about Potter?”
He blinked and the image was gone, she was gone “I was talking to Ginny” he replied
“Yeh – err outside the room about fifteen minutes ago, you’ve been standing there grinning for about ten”
Harry laughed “Me and her have this link thing – Merlin I’m even talking like her” he chuckled to himself Draco looking at him oddly,
“Yeh it’s weird, but Ginny, well she can kind of see what I’m thinking sometimes and I can see what she is too”
“Your both crazy” Said Draco with a smile “What did you say to her?”
“I showed her your mum fainting; she showed me her holding the baby”
“Baby, you got a kid!?”
“No” Harry laughed again “Professor Jacobs, the one who took you to prison with me”
“Oh”
“I think Gin’s angry at me for leaving her to do stuff on her own when I came to see you”
“What made you think that?”
“The slap I got when I handed myself in at reception” he grinned “Won’t be wandering off without telling her again if that’s what I get”
“Lucky it wasn’t a hex” Grinned Amy “That’s what Draco would get from me”
“Chicks, all mad aren’t they” joked Draco
“Especially those who are angry” said Angie,
McNair laughed “Mine was before I killed her” the room went quiet “She never did as she was told and refusing to join my master that was the last straw” he said as he giggling manically.
Harry and Draco averted there gaze from the still laughing man as five guards came in wands in hand.
“There ready for you again” said the one Harry recognised as Tomkins, he was only glad he had Cormac behind him with his wand, he didn’t get poked once.

Chapter Sixty - Six (PART TWO!)

They entered the court room and sat down waiting. Minister strolled in a couple of minutes later when
Everyone else had come back and been seated too and he banged the gavel on the desk to hush the chatter. “I bring this court to order” He paused “Mr Malfoy you’ll be glad to here your mother is fine, she is awake and accepting treatment at St Mungo’s where a portion of her sentence will be carried out until she is fit enough to be moved to Azkaban” Draco let out a sigh of relief and nodded unsmilingly at the minister.

“I now call to the stand Walden McNair”
The man stood up the smile still on his face,
“You are charged with the murder of your wife Edith McNair, you are charged with the murder of five muggles, and the grievous bodily harm of one wizard which contributed to his death. How do you plea?”
“Guilty my friend” he smiled “Guilty as sin”
“And how does the court wish to sentence this man?”
“Life imprisonment” said one,
“Death” called out another,
“He’s a danger to those inside and out”
“Dementors will keep him inside”
“They let ten of them escape”
“Under Voldemort’s rule – he’s gone there under the ministry command now”
“How can we be sure the other who have been given life won’t escape if we’re just worried about this one” the arguing was coming from a few different people in the Wizengamot and Scrimgeour banged his gavel once again to get peace and to say “In this case, I think life imprisonment is an appropriate sentence, they will not escape, and we as a community will see to it they stay in the prison they deserve”
There was a general nodding of heads and he called a vote that was unanimous. They seemed all to be in favour of life instead of death.

Ginny sat waiting patiently, her hand holding on to Hermione’s tightly as they sat in silence. Ron was pacing up and down, Luna was writing her Father dictating to her and professor McGonagall and Willow with Caleb were talking quietly away from the others.

“You think he’s alright in there chained to them?” Asked Ginny to Hermione and Ron.
“He looked ok to me Ginny, I’m sure he’s fine just wants to get it over with”
“When will we be called up do you think?”
“Well the think is they haven’t called any witness’s for any of the others so I think they might not want us after all” Replied Hermione to Ginny's question,
“I thought we had to, I mean they sent us letters and everything”
“I depends on what they want to show Harry as, I mean if they question us and we all say he wouldn’t have done what he did without reason or that he’s not mad they there not going to want us telling people that”
“So we’re actually just sitting here waiting to see if he’s going to come out in chains or not then Hermione” Said Ginny her patience wearing thin over the last couple of hours.

She looked at her watch it was nearing half past eleven when the doors opened and two women were dragged out. One was screaming and crying the other pulled her along.

“DRACO! DRACO YOU PROMISED, PLEASE DON’T LET THEM DO THIS!”
“I’M GOING TO STOP THEM AMY, ITS GOING TO BE OK HARRY’S GOING TO TRY AGAIN FOR US DON’T WORRY, I LOVE YOU I’M NOT GOING TO LET THEM HURT YOU”

The doors slammed shut on Draco's shouting and the Ministers shouts along with the banging of his gavel. Ginny stood up and ran over to them,
“What’s happened? What have they done?” she asked a guard, as Amy fell to the floor in tears and Angie yanked on the chains trying to pull her up.
“They’ve both been given life in Azkaban”
Her hands went to her mouth, “But -”
“Look missy it’s not my call, you want to argue take it to the minister”
“Don’t think I won’t” She strode over to the doors all eyes on her until Hermione and Ron grabbed her and pulled her away.
“You don’t even know if she’s guilty or not” Said Ron,
“I trust Harry, if he thinks she doesn’t deserve it so do I, I mean come on does that reaction look like someone who is guilty” Ginny replied quickly and made a move for the door again,
“We don’t know the full story; let it wait until Harry’s back” Said Hermione letting go as the Professors and Caleb came over.
“Not when I could be doing something now” She said and pulled her arm away from Ron’s grip, but this time it was McGonagall’s hand that stopped her,
“Ginerva my child let it wait a moment think about what would happen to Harry is you went in there now”
“Professor she’s innocent I know it, I know Harry, he wouldn’t defend a death eater unless he had a good reason”
“Yes, but if you go bursting in there now you risk his freedom not just hers”
She thought about it and nodded after a minute “Ok, so tell me what I can do?”
“Sit and wait until Harry needs you, if you know him like I think you do you’ll be able to understand what happened without even stepping foot in the court room”

She sat down and closed her eyes feeling there eyes on her. She let her mind wander until it fixed on Harry. Everything went black when suddenly there was an explosion of colour and the room came into focus. . .

Chapter Sixty – Seven

She could see the Wizengamot looking at them in the stand, the audience watching and Rufus Scrimgeour talking. They looked to the side and Draco was sitting head down. Draco spoke
“Thanks Harry for trying, I’m not looking forward to this now”
“That’s ok mate good luck I’ll do my best” replied Harry and then she was forced out by him as he watched Draco stand up to Scrimgeour’s words,
“I now call to the stand Mr Draco Malfoy”

She blinked she was back in the waiting room. “He kicked me out” she said not quite believing it “He doesn’t want me to see what’s happening”
“What – No harry wouldn’t do that”
“He did” Ginny said not looking at them all “He’s so scared, I can feel it, and he doesn’t want me to be there if the verdict is bad”
“So there sentencing him now, before Draco without witnesses?”
“No” she shook her head, she knew it was Hermione asking all the questions but just couldn’t look at any of them and kept her eyes on her hands. “Its Draco’s turn now, there saving him for last”
Hermione sighed and sat beside her “He’ll be fine”

Harry stood up when Scrimgeour asked if there were any witness’s for Malfoy’s defence and the court began to talk just as they had when he had stood up for Amy.
“And Mr Potter, why are you defending this death eater?”
“He’s become my friend; he’s genuinely different from the frightened school boy under the control of the Voldemort and his father”
“And how long would you sentence him to in Azkaban?”
Lady flagstaff interrupted before Harry could reply “I don’t think it’s relevant to hear Mr Potter’s thoughts on Mr Malfoy’s sentencing only as a character witness”
“What is your reason for defending this young man?” Said a man from the Wizengamot who seemed interested in how Harry could protect a Malfoy.
“He’s not a bad person, just one that has been made to do bad things to save his own life and that of his girlfriend, Amy O’Malley, when they were both forced into unwilling service of the dark lord by there families”
“It doesn’t not lessen there responsibility for the crime they committed” Replied Flagstaff
“But it does impede there sense of judgement of right and wrong, when it comes to some one you love wouldn’t you do anything to protect them?” Replied Harry
“I understand but how do you know they are wizards that have changed” Said a female standing up from the Wizengamot,
“I’ve talked to them, I heard there stories and taken the time to get to know them whereas you lot seem to think death eater equals life imprisonment, not rehabilitation or freedom in cases were there hasn’t been a crime committed”
“Mr Potter this is a warning”
“you gave Amy life imprisonment when the only charge you could find was consorting with Voldemort where as her sister had killed people” He said getting angry, his fear of his own sentence flying out the window,
“That’s quite enough Mr Potter, I’m sure if the O’Malley’s have an objection they will appeal there sentence” Replied Scrimgeour angrily
“And then what will you to, hand them death or go straight for the dementors kiss” he snapped back,
“MR POTTER!” shouted the minister feeling control slipping through his fingertips,
“Yes Mr Scrimgeour” he replied turning to him coldly and calmly, “What do you want me to do, sit down, shut up and give in?”
“HOW DARE YOU”
“No minister how you dare do this to Amy, to Draco and to me” he held up his chained hands and the crowds all began to cheer.
Scrimgeour banged the gavel but the cheering didn’t stop and the only way he could think of clinging on to control was “CLEAR THE COURT”
The doors were opened and the spectators shown out amid there protests and shouting. He turned to look out the door and saw Ginny’s head as she stood on the seats to see inside
“Harry what’s going on?” she shouted over the noise,
“Just a minor disagreement between Rufus and me” he said with a smile,
She nodded and smiled back the feelings of despair and worry leaving her as they did him before the doors were closed.
“Sit down Mister Potter”
“Are you going to listen to the sound of the people telling what’s right?”
“The people have no relevance in this case”
“Then I think I’ll stay standing” he leant his hands on the bar in front of him and looked to Lady Flagstaff
“You have witnesses for my character waiting outside – you want to bring them in?”
“I don’t think we need to bother, I’ve decided already” she said with a smile. A smile that wasn’t harsh or cruel or intent on troubling Harry but that of warmth, understanding and possibly even freedom.
“Oh I think Mr Potter wants to hear what they think of him – bring in the witness’s for the trial of Harry Potter” called Rufus to the guard nearest him. They nodded opening the door and walking out before coming back in again a worried looking Hermione behind him.

“Giles bring in Mr Ronald Weasley now” He said turning to the man that seemed to be his skivvy. He nodded his head walked out and a few seconds later came back with Ron.
