As of last night, Jack Mannequin and rubindo have both reached The Final Room.

The hope is that at least two - three more people will make it there, so we'll be able to give out a first, second, third, and fourth place award (the siggies Lissy made). Seeing as the plot ends on or about Wednesday, maybe those in the last few rooms can sort of push a few along if it looks like we won't have anymore reach the end.

This plot has been SO MUCH FUN! I've heard a LOT of people tell me they loved the plot and are so glad we did it!

Don't forget to regularly check your filing cabinet for any inactive employees. This helps tremendously with sorting. If an employee hasn't posted anywhere in the Ministry of Magic (department or roleplay threads) in three months, they're eligible to be moved to inactive status.

Sorry, I left out a few words. It's three months.

According to filing cabinets and the number of posted bios, this is how many active employees each of you have:

Education: 15
Law Enforcement: 29
Accidents and Catastrophes: 19
Creatures: 46
International Magical Cooperation: 40
Transportation: 24
Games and Sports: 16
Maintenance/Security: 36
Mysteries: 50

To move them to inactive status, it has to be three months or longer since they've posted anywhere in the Ministry of Magic. An employee posting actively in the cafeteria, for instance, but not on their level, is still active. The hope is that they'll eventually become active on their level, too. If you move someone to inactive, just soft delete their bio and move their name to a separate section of the filing cabinet (off the top of my head, I know Cat's filing cabinet is now done that way).

I'll probably be moving some today, in that case; I'll let you know if it drastically changes that number.

I have an inactive section for each division; is that what you mean by 'separate section'?

Can we possibly get a thread set up in here so we can each keep track of the employees we've sorted on our level SINCE like...the beginning of time? Aka since we started the RP? Since we started in '08, I have a LOT of members who haven't been AROUND since then, and chances are they aren't coming back any time soon.

I'm thinking a thread in here, to keep track of ALL our employees, would be extremely useful, because then we can HARD delete the bios of people who haven't been on SS in years and get rid of some of those soft deletes (they are NOT pretty and make the filing cabinet front page extremely long to scroll down ) and that way, if some member DOES come back after a 3 year hiatus, we can just check the thread in here, make sure they're in the right place, and just ask them to repost their bio.

Or maybe *thinks on the spot* we can move all the bios HERE in a seperate filing cabinet thread? That might take a little more work and we might need a forum for that but...then the bios wouldn't be lost. I dunno, I got the idea as I was typing. Hehe

I found moving inactive employees really helpful when it came to assigning new sortees a division. It helped me see which divisions needed more active employees and which divisions could wait a little while before getting a new employee.

This is just a suggestion, too---I noticed a few MoM employees have now been hired for the Daily Prophet and have removed their MoM charrie off their profile completely. They can now keep both positions, but some may not know this or some may have opted to give up their MoM position. It may be worth your while to check this and see which ones are staying and which ones opted not to (which we hope that ended up being no one ).

Sure you can! On your level, at least I hard deleted stuff when I was in italics I just don't think I could on the other levels...it was restricted to level 3 only. I think.

Really? Cause I seriously hard deleted stuff all the time when I was in italics. I know I did I'd use that to get rid of bios for my Division Heads (and me ) who had created new characters.

As far as hard vs. soft deletions, I'm more than willing to give you guys the permissions to do so, but keep in mind that it's not to be abused and when in doubt, just soft delete and ask myself or Anna. This is standard procedure for ALL mods of the site.

I'm going to assume that you'll all be good little doobies and not use your new permissions improperly. If anyone does, your permissions could be taken away and you may jeopardize your position as a department head, so just be reasonable with them. And again, if you're unsure, better to soft delete and ask someone!

I can set it up, Tiff I'm not doing anything right now so I have time on my hands
