A generation after the defeat of the Dark Lord, the Wizarding World is starting to feel safe once again. Life goes on, children are born, and several rounds of these children have come and gone from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The professors have prepared for another calm year, but little do they know that someone within their ranks is posed to upset everything.

The year is 2037, and it has been 40 years since Voldemort fell at the hands of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This RP will take place from the professors’ point of view, and I’d like to fill up as many roles as we want to before we start. After we’re set on who is playing who, we’ll fill the rest of the roles with names so we can all refer to the same people. References to canon characters are acceptable, although HP and co. would be almost 60 in this RP and Snape and co. would be over 80. Please provide as complete a history as possible for your characters, although the fact that this RP is for advanced players only means there is leeway for you knowing more about your character than you want to share at this time. Character secrets are great and encouraged.

If you don’t feel you can post an adult character with good character development, post frequently daily and usually in the EST evening, or write involved posts that are grammatically correct and well-written, then please don’t sign up. We’re serious RPers and we get cranky easily. Some of us even bite.

Cole wished she would stop looking so... like herself. She was wearing a color she looked lovely in and when her eyes lit up like that and her cheeks were flushed... Maybe she was doing it on purpose to torture him. Whatever he'd done, he'd apologize if she would keep looking just like that. "Erm... yeah. Taurus. Planets."

Ana bit back a grin and nodded in understanding. "Of course, Ivan. I'll keep that in mind. And of course, you're welcome to seek me out if you're in need of... a good conversational partner." She smiled again and looked down to where she'd been doodling with her quill.

"I sure will have to keep that in mind when I get lonely up there in my office and am in need of a... conversation," Ivan said. He conjured his own quill and parchment in case he needed to take any notes from this meeting.

Aria laughed at Mark. "Oh you know, you'll find someone gorgeous with great legs and go waltzing off with her and forget about me and I'll be left to find my own gorgeous guy and leave you." she said with a smirk. "Yeah that table looks good." she said motioning for him to lead the way.

"YOu are completely incorrigible, Ivan. I've never given into your flirtation before, so I have no idea why you think I will this time. I suggest you try out someone a bit easier to flatter. Maybe Edie or Bebe... or even Wei. She's single now." She smiled and tapped his nose with her quill.

'Ok, well,' he laughed, following her, 'you know me too well Aria. Still,' he shook his head. 'A georgeous guy doesn't sound too bad. Except for me, who will die of insane jealousy at the sight.' He held her chair before moving round to his own.

And she'd done it. Mentally she smacked herself. Cole didn't find this stuff riveting, she always ran away with herself, and he'd sit there with a distant expression, clearly thinking of something else. 'You um,' she didin't have a clue what to say. 'You look good. The running must be doing you good.' She wanted to take up some sport, she'd tried several times, but it never worked. She'd always end up too tired to move.

"Oh, but that takes away the fun..." Ivan said and gave a great big dramatic sigh. He blew on the the end of the feathers of the quill Ana had tapped his nose with away from his face. "I guess if you really want me to, I'll stop."

"You're welcome to join me," Cole offered lamely, wondering why he was bothering. "It's a great form of exercise." He'd already said that. "It's a good way to order your thinking and get your blood flowing." Except, they'd always had more interesting forms of exercise. Cole blushed. "It's... relaxing and... you can come if you want." He was a humongous fool.

Ana tried not to turn a bit red. Ivan was a young, handsome man who made the students positively swoon over him. They'd always gotten along well, and Ana was flattered that he looked at her in this way. It could never be anything, because Ana had to prioritize her career, but the flirtation was fine. "You don't have to stop."

'You sure I wouldn't just slow you down,' she smiled. She wasn't sure she'd even be able to run at all, but the thought of spending time with him. She took a breath. She was being a fool about this, he was probably only being polite. 'Maybe some morning,' she suggested shrugging gently.

Ivan smiled and leaned toward Ana a bit. "Good," He said, "Because I'm not so sure I want to." He noticed a slight blush creep onto her cheeks. This gave him a feeling of satisfaction with himself and he once again leaned back in his chair.

"Awwww, I'm sure you will." she said patting his cheek and smirking. She thanked him as he pulled out her chair and she sat down and crossed her legs and leaned forward on the table resting her elbows on the table and her head in her hands. She glanced around the room taking in everyone that was there so far. Cole and Wei seemed to be alright and Ivan was of course chatting up Ana. She shook her head and gave a small laugh. She was looking forward to the term.

Her answer was noncommital, and Cole took that as a sign. She was being polite but dismissive. "Well, the invitation is there," he nodded his head and turned to see if anyone else wanted to be brought into conversation. It was more than awkward to talk with Wei since their seperation.

Ana cleared her throat. "Erm... where is the Headmistress? I believe its almost time for the meeting to start." She glanced around the room, uncomfortable with his attention.

She looked down at her hands on the table top, moving the fingers over each other. Anything to stop her looking back up. Why was she even considering this? That he'd even want to have her in his company. She'd been the one that left, not him. She chanced a glance up. Still the idea of spending time with him again, of being near to him was tempting.

Cole breathed out impatiently and wondered himself where the Headmistress was. He wanted to go for another run... that or pluck Wei from her seat and take her back to their room. THEIR room. It wasn't his, and he hated being there alone. He wanted it to be okay to hold her again, but she had left and he didn't know how to ask her. He turned to watch her again, knowing this was the extend of her he could still have.

Nicky notices the woman on his right ignores his question concerning the head mistress and instead engages in conversation with Cole. From the way they talk, Nicky assumes they must be involved in some kind of relationship. He's not sure if it's going well or not. Then the woman who is sitting with the Bulgarian man ask about the headmistress too. Obviously, she is not among the people present. Nicky looks at his watch. It is getting close to time for the meeting to start. Surely she will be here soon. Nicky starts to squirm uncomfortable in his seat. He's never liked being the new kid on the block and doesn't like being the odd person out.

Nikita nodded as Jett left. She finished her breakfast as she continued to think about what she had overheard. What was going to happen....

After finishing up her breakfast, she dropped a couple of coins on the table. She gathered her things, which included her box, and left the Leaky Cauldron. With a very neutral and calm face, she apparated near Hogwarts and started walking to the castle.

Years at Hogwarts: 8

Appearance: 6'4", muscular from marital arts, jet black hair and deep blue piercing eyes, and broad shoulders. He has a small gold stud in his left ear and a dragon tattoo on his back.

Personality: At first glance, he seems pretty conceited and arrogant. He's goodlooking and knows he can have just about any woman he wants. He's played the field and enjoys the company of women. What no one knows, and he hasn't shown, is that his conceited, arrogant ways are a ploy. He knows people think little of him, being the Grandson of a Squib and working his inherited position since he was 21, adding the arrogance is another way to get people to dismiss him. By doing this he picks up very useful information that he wouldn't otherwise be privy. Inside his heart, however, he's getting tired of his play boy ways. All those women never lasted long, and, inside, he just wants someone to call him baby.

Background: Went to Hogwarts, so he does know magic. He didn't really go for N.E.W.T.S because he knew where he'd end up working. He enjoyed his years at Hogwarts, but insisted on taking a few years off to help him find himself. He traveled around Europe and America before returning to Hogwarts.

As Warrick walked back up the path to Hogwarts from Hogsmede he couldn't help but sigh. Here he was, again. Sure, he wouldn't mind having a more exciting job, like his friend, Ray, in Romania with the dragons. But he knew that if he wasn't here at Hogwarts, he'd most likey have ended up as a paper pusher for the ministry, and that he could not have lived with........nor could he have lived with the guilt that he had turned his back on the family job. Yes, he could have had a more glamourous life, but he knew that deep down, Hogwarts was his home and that nowhere else on Earth could compare.

He hefted the bag on his shoulder higher and hiked on.

Aria shrugged at Ana. She had no idea where the headmistress was at but she was getting restless. She had grounds to attend to and she had a few new ideas. And the sooner she got her the sooner they could all leave. Aria noticed Nicky was looking like he was uncomfortable and she smiled reassuringly to him. There seemed to be only a few missing. She had to refrain from figgetting her lefs and tapping her fingers so she settled for making faces at the people she caught the eyes of. She stuck her tongue out at Mark and crossed her eyes at Cole and puffed her cheeks out at Ivan.

Mark was bored, no two ways about it. He sighed, tapped the table with his fingers before finally reaching for some parchement. He started folding the paper until finally he had a duck. He smirked, moving it over to Aria, and pulling the tail. 'Quack,' he laughed, dropping it on the table in front of her, and reaching for some more paper. He remembered the first time his father had shown him how to make a boat. He smiled briefly, a little sadly, and moved on.

Aria couldn't help but bust out laughing at Mark. She reached and took the duck and pulled on the tail again and chuckled when it quacked again. She shook her head and rolled her eyes at Mark. He was even more bored then she was. She motioned for him to come sit by her so they wouldn't have to reach across the table.

Endora had been busliy working with the Ministry over the holiday. She knew this term just might be her most difficult yet. Not since her appointment by the Governor's board had there been so much of a stir within the Wizarding world. Well at least not since "you-know-who" was around. "Oh how I wish Porter were here for this," she said to her Phoenix. "He always knew how to deal with these things." Porter Hatterfield was Endora's late husband. A muggle, but with a great knowledge of how to associate with wizards. It was over a summer break that the two had met and fell in love. It seemed they shared a common interest in Astrology. They spent many nights together gazing for hours through telescopes at the various stars and other heavenly bodies. Porter passed from a muggle disease several years prior but Endora still speaks to his portrait that she hung on her office wall next to those of the past Headmasters.

"Oh heavens my, look at the time," she had just noticed the large grandfather clock noting that it was less then 15 minutes until the first staff meeting of the term. She had received notice that most of her staff had returned for the school term by various ways and had been gathering their resources for thier lessons. She put the finishing touches to the tight hair bun she had been working on "that'll have to do," she said looking in the mirror. Several of the former Heads of the school applauded and gave her words of encouragement as she headed for the door buttoning the last buttons of her blouse.

The Headmistress made it quickly down the flights of stairs to the hall leading to the staff room. Her arms full of notes and anouncements to be handed out. She smiled briefly noticing how nice the suits of armour looked lining the walls. As she neared the door, she paused one last time and took a deep breath. "It'll be okay," she told herself as she grabbed the doorknob and pushed it open.

Most of the heads in the room turned as she walked in and the noise quieted down. Endora moved to the end of the long wooden table and placed her things neatly in a stack in front of her seat. She took out her wand and made a motion with it to light more of the candles along the walls, "I think a bit more light is desired," and the candles lit up, sending a much brighter glow over the faces in the room that had all turned towards her as she entered. "And one last thing," she added as she motioned with her wand once more, this time towards the fireplace and the windows. "Never can be too careful," she said as she cast the Protection spell to seal the room from listening devices and other Dark devices. Finally she pulled out from her handbag a small metal object that she sat on it's end on the table near her seat. It stood quietly on it's three tiny feet.

"Okay, I think that's everything," she said as she sat down and folded her hands neatly in front of her on the table. "First of all, I want to welcome each of you back to Hogwarts that are returning, and to those of you who are new, congraulations on your appointment." She looked around at all of the faces and then said, "I have some important announcements to make in a few moments, some of them may suprise you but they're not meant to scare you. But first, I'd like each of you to introduce yourselves to the rest of the room so we can all know who's who. As you all know me already from our interviews, I'll start," she said placing a hand across her chest. "My name is Endora Hatterfield and I am the Headmistress of the school. I have been here for several years now since the retirement of Albus Dumbledore." Several heads moved around at the mention of the former Headmaster's name. Dumbledore was one of the favorite Headmasters that Hogwarts ever had and was the Head at the time of Voldemort's rise and fall. "I have spent the summer getting ready for this term and I think we can say that this term will bring with it several challenges that we, as a staff, will find difficult to endure," she looked around at the many faces that looked cofused at her words. "But I shouldn't get ahead of myself," she looked to her left and said," let's continue with the introductions and go around the room." She quieted down and sat back as her staff began introducing themselves to the room.

ooc: okay all of Endora's posts won't be that long but I figured with 5 pages already down, she had to make up for it....lol

Warrick had stopped off in his office before continuing down to the staff room. He had needed to change out of his traveling clothes and wash up. The last thing the staff here needed to be assulted with on the first day back was the smell of sweat.

His hair was a little wet as he followed the headmistress into the staffroom. Had he been anycloser he would have offered help, but probably would have just been disregarded. He shrugged to himself, knowing he brought most of it on himself.

He picked an empty seat and sat, expressionless, waiting for the meeting to begin.

Mark grinned, nodding and stood. He lifted several bits of parchement and took them with him around the table. They were supposed to be for teh meeting, but whatever, he had better uses. Besides, they could always unravel the duck later. 'This might actually be serious,' he said quietly as he ploped down beside Aria. 'Never known the headmistress to be late. And with all the stories,' he shook his head, beginning to fold the paper again. He glanced up around the table. Everyone looked somewhat antsy especially, he smirked. Wei sitting opposite Ed. He shook his head, almost laughing out loud. That was clever, sitting opposite each other. He rolled his eyes. 'They getting along any better yet?' he asked Aria quietly, nodding his head in their direction.

He cut his question short as teh headmistress entered, and he followed her progress. No news yet, he noted with interest. Perhaps the rumours had been false. But then again, the headmistress did like to start without the intros. Figuring someone should start, he stood, smiling warmly at the others. 'I'm Mark Soloway,' he paused, letting the name sink in. 'I teach transfig, this will be my fifth year in the position.' He thought for a minute. 'Yup, that's about it.' He grinned and sat back down, looking to see who would go next.

Aria shrugged at Marks question it seemed that they were but it also seemed to be awkward. She listened to the Headmistress talk and nodded paying attention. Since she was by Mark she thought it would be good for her to go next. "Hey I'm Cassaria Wood but most of you know me as Aria." she said smiling around the room "I'm the groundskeeper here and I'm completely open to suggestions regarding the grounds. This will be my third year here and I'm enjoying it so far. Of course that may also be because there aren't any kids here to trample the flower gardens." she said playfully. She gave a smile and became bored again so she poked Mark from under the table.
