A generation after the defeat of the Dark Lord, the Wizarding World is starting to feel safe once again. Life goes on, children are born, and several rounds of these children have come and gone from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The professors have prepared for another calm year, but little do they know that someone within their ranks is posed to upset everything.

The year is 2037, and it has been 40 years since Voldemort fell at the hands of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This RP will take place from the professors’ point of view, and I’d like to fill up as many roles as we want to before we start. After we’re set on who is playing who, we’ll fill the rest of the roles with names so we can all refer to the same people. References to canon characters are acceptable, although HP and co. would be almost 60 in this RP and Snape and co. would be over 80. Please provide as complete a history as possible for your characters, although the fact that this RP is for advanced players only means there is leeway for you knowing more about your character than you want to share at this time. Character secrets are great and encouraged.

Please PM me or MSN me if you are interested in joining, but a warning: all the RPers are advanced, mature members of this site who are prepared to devote time and enthusiasm to this RP. If you don’t feel you can post an adult character with good character development, post frequently daily and usually in the EST evening, or write involved posts that are grammatically correct and well-written, then please don’t sign up. We’re serious RPers and we get cranky easily. Some of us even bite.

Mark felt himself drift into conciousness. At least, thats what he assumed the throbbing in his head meant. He opened and closed his mouth, his tongue slapping stickily against his teeth. Never again would he drink muggle alcohol. It had been a wild party, what he remembered of it anyway. What he did recall, was that he had had a fair few firewhiskeys before someone pulled out the new bottle, teglia or something like that. After that he remembered very little. Now, it felt like something had died in his mouth.

He took a deep breath, his eyes still refusing to open and stretched. As his hand met something soft, he sat up, his eyes snapping open. The rapid movement made the throbbing faster, but he relaxed almost at once. Blonde hair cascading down a petite and lovely looking back. He grinned, running a hand down the back to rest briefly on the rump. His grin broadened and he sighed, letting go and swinging his legs out of the bed. Once he was dressed, he conjued a rose, leaving a note beside it on the bed before stumbling down the stairs into the Leaky Cauldron.

"I'm apparently missing my head today," she said, quite embarrassed, her face as pink as the roses she had just bought. "Sorry about that. So sorry." BeBe stood awkwardly over her, slightly rocking from foot to foot. Everyone must have been looking at her. "So... how are you?"

Nikita started walking around Diagon Alley. As she browsed the shops, she noticed students running around and buying new supplies. However, she soon found herself to be hungry. Still carrying her package, she started to look around for a good place to eat. It was then when she came across the Leaky Cauldron. Smiling, she decided to open the door. After all, she had certainly missed their sales on breakfasts.

Cole stopped jogging in place and simply stared at her. What in the world...? "Erm... thank you, I think. Just how are you going to benefit this journey?" He grinned suddenly and pushed his sweaty hair from his face. "And how was your summer?"

Ana sighed and pointed at the chair across from her. She was getting a pain in her neck from looking up, and it was rude of her to make her fellow professor stand. "Have a seat," she smiled a bit before adding, "I'm fine. Ready for the new school year, of course. I hope your summer was enjoyable?"

"My summer was peaceful," Edie said, opening her eyes again and staring up at Cole. He kind of looked like he was wearing a halo, because the sun was shining around him. She finally stood up. This made her feel short. "You run every day, don't you? Are you running from something?"

Cole's smile faded and he started to jog in place again. "It doesn't take a seer to know that," his tone was caustic. He glanced over his shoulder at the castle, his eyes resting for a long moment on the Astronomy Tower. "I'm going to finish my run," he offered shortly.

"Oh, it was pleasant enough..," she said nervously. "And yes, I'm all excited about the new term. I should get going...," she said, awkwardly stepping away. "Lots to do, you know." BeBe gave her a stiff laugh and got out of the Leaky Cauldron as quick as she could. Soon.. she found herself out on the streets of Diagon Alley - blending in and already feeling better.

Cole eyed her carefully, aware that the sun was starting to climb into the sky and the day would soon be hot. "And what would you suggest, Edie? If you have all the answers, in that carefully detached way of yours, why don't you share them with the rest of us? Hm?" He had spent too much time by himself this summer, that much was clear. He has assumed that his indecision over Wei was all in his head, but here was Edie Vablatsky reading him like her bloody crystal ball.

Looking around for a table, Mark spotted a familiar face. Smoothing his robes, and checking his hair in a nearby window, he moved over to the table. 'Adriana,' he said, his voice low enough to not attract attention. He smiled down at her, his best attempt at a charming smile considering how he felt. 'May I join you?' He indicated the chair, pulling it out and sitting down before she could object. He smiled brightly again, calling the waitress and ordering some food, giving the girl a wink. He let his eyes follow her retreating form, apreciating the view before turning back to his collegue. 'So,' he said, still smiling, 'How was your summer?'

She spotted him, her stomach lurching slightly. 'Good nighting,' she said quietly, about to move off. She spotted something first however. Moving back to the balcony, she squinted down. It was Vablatsky. She didn't know the woman well. She taught Divination. 'Hand waving nonsense,' muttered Wei, snorting. Still it was a jolt to see him talking with her, and looking down, Wei realised her grip had tightened on the railing.

Taking a breath, she let it drop to her side. Jealousy would get her nowhere. He wasn't hers anymore, and she wasn't his. She just had to keep reminding herself of that, and it would get easier. With one final look towards the lake, she moved off, making her way down through the school to her new quarters. She undressed, pulling an oldtshirt on, and climbed into bed. The staff meeting was only a matter of hours away, and she wanted to be rested. As she drifted off to sleep, the arguments played themselves out in her head, expanding into the dreams that had filled her sleep these past months.

Aria went to her office and began unpacking. She hung her punching bag up in the corner and set out a pair of shirts and a tanktop to go running in when she finished. She put everything away neatly and changed. She stretched really good and pulled her hair back in a ponytail. She walked out of her office and began jogging down the halls, giving the occasional nod and smile to a portrait welcoming her back and headed out the doors to the grounds. She ran along the border of the grounds taking an overview of what work she would need to do to get it in order before the kids arrived. She ran down to the lake to soak her feet and relax a little bit and cool down when she noticed Cole and Edie. "Hey guys!" she said running over to them and waving. Giving them a curious smile, "Am I interupting something?" she asked. "I'll leave and go over there.." she said motioning with her hands.

OOC: I'm not sure exactly where everyone is, but I'm going to post anyway.

"Honey, are you sure that you're going to be able to go with that thing on?" came the voice of Jessyrah Prince from the bathroom where she was preparing herself to go to work. "I don't know why you and your parents insisted on a Muggle recovery, Jett. You broke you back in three places, for the love of Merlin," she said, walking back into the bedroom.

Jett slipped on his shoes, unable to bend at the waist to wear shoes that tied, and answered his wife, "I think that a Muggle recovery will do me some good, Jessa, and don't you mind me. This job is going to be good for me."

He leaned over and kissed his wife, who scowled at him and said, "If you say so, but try to be careful. We were students once, and we both know how rough they can be if they're provoked, Jett."

Jett winked without saying anything else to further the conversation, and Disapparated with a wave. Arriving in his new office with a loud crack, Jett seated himself at his desk and began to sort through a large pile of papers, whistling softly.

Mark didn't change, and Ana's face expressed her disgust with his behavior. "My summer was fine. I hope yours was the same." It was a comment that didn't necessarily invite a response, and she sipped her coffee again, hoping he wouldn't want to chat with her. Mark had never overtly flirted with her, and although she could take that as an insult since he tended to flirt with anyone female, she was relieved to avoid the complications thusfar. She hoped this wouldn't be the year he decided she was female enough for his tastes.

Cole shook his head. "Edie, I want to give you some credit, but all you do is tell me things I already know." He was completely prepared to jog off again when Aria appeared. "You aren't interrupting," he jogged in place, nodding towards the lake. "Let's take a lap around the lake for good measure. I've been running all summer. Bet I can finally keep up with you." He pulled her ponytail and took off running, glad to leave Edie and her too-close-for-comfort analysis behind.

Aria laughed took off after him. "Yeah loved the 'welcome back Aria'," she said bringing her hands up and redoing her ponytail still running a little bit behind him. "Hey not bad, but you do have the slight advantage, I havent had a break from running yet and you got to talk." she said as she pulled up beside him and started to sweat. "So how was your Summer?" she asked him poking him in the side.

Cole dodged away from Aria's finger and kept jogging. He viewed the younger professor as a kind of younger sister he'd never had, especially considering that he'd been an only child. They shared a mutual love of active sports, and Cole appreciated her energy. "It was... fine," he said abruptly. No need to publish his business everywhere, even if everyone had been aware of Wei's move from their quarters during last term. "How was yours?"

Aria gave Cole an understanding smile and dropped the subject. "Eh it was alright nothing big. Went to a few quidditch matches and took care of Dad. He's doing alot better if he'll keep up with his potion. Which reminds me I need to talk to Ivan about some more of that stuff." She had received a letter from Geoffrey over the Summer wanting her back and explaining how things weren't working out between him and Cecila and he wanted to try again. She had torn the letter up and burned it crying for the next day and spending it confused. Her head told her to try and that she still loved him but her heart was telling her that it was still getting readjusted to the spot in her chest after being stomped on the ground. She had never written him back and he must have taken the hint.

Cole let the conversation drop as he picked up the speed a bit. It was an easy way to avoid asking about the look that had flashed across Aria's face. They were friendly, but they weren't friends exactly. They could enjoy sports together, but they couldn't delve into the inner workings of each others' lives. As they rounded the corner of the lake, Cole put on a burst of speed, seeing if she could keep up.

Edie stared at the backs of the two getting farther away from her. She sighed. Usually when people talked to her for more than two minutes, things like that happened. But, she decided it was probably time to go inside the castle and up to her quarters to get her things situated anyway.

"Oh no no no, You're not getting away with that." she said with a laugh and speeding up trying to control her breathing. As she jogged up behind him she playfully kicked his butt. "Thats for pulling my hair earlier." she said sticking out her tongue. "oooh I have my punching back hung up so you're more then welcome to it if you want." she told him.

Nicky had an enjoyable breakfast watching the English wizards and witches go by. He wasn't sure he would ever understand the English. They did so many pecular things to him. Nicky perferred his Uncle Severus. He was more like the Russians and the students at Drumstrung detached and orderly. Looking at his watch, Nicky decides he'd better get his shopping done and head back to the train station. The carriage from Hogwarts should be arriving shortly. He goes to the Apothocary and picks up the supplies he will be needing. Nicky also makes a mental note that he needs to speak to the Headmistress the moment he gets to Hogwarts. Uncle Severus had given him a letter of introduction that he needs to give her asap. His errands finished, Nicky goes to the station and finds the carriage has still not arrived. He remembers the school is not that far from Hogsmeade and that you can only aparate as far as the front gate. Since it is such a lovely day, he decides to fly. Nicky gets his suitcase and firebolt from the station master, places his supplies in his suitcase, and attaches it to the back of his broom. He then mounts it, kicks off hard, and heads towards Hogwarts.

Nicky loves flying again and in no time is at the grounds of Hogwarts. The castle is so much bigger than Drumstrung, but the grounds pale in comparison to his old school. Nicky takes a couple laps around the castle taking all it's features in. The building reminds him of the old castle his grandfather lives in. It too is set in a picturesque wooded setting. He notices the woods at the edge of the grounds. Nicky figures that must be the Forbidden Forest Uncle Severus had told him about. He has no desire to go exploring in there. He's had enough woods to last him a lifetime. Nicky then flies over the lake when he notices two people running around it. From what he can gather the young woman is attacking the older man with long brown hair. Nicky aims his broom down in their direction. He wants a closer look before he decides to get involved. He hovers close to where the two are running.

Cole shrugged in response to the news about the punching bag. Aria was so young in some ways. She had no idea how compromising him visiting her quarters was, even if it was for something as innocent as working out together. He didn't have time to respond before his attention was caught by a man on a broom headed there way. "What's this? Wand out, kiddo."

Nikita sighed as she opened the door slowly. She peered inside and saw no familiar faces. Quickly adjusting her hair, she walked over to the Bartender and ordered a pint of juice with the daily breakfast special.

After doing so, she glanced around for a corner table as she unconsciously twirled her hair with her right hand. After just a few seconds, she walked over to an empty table and sat down. Placing her box to her side, she grinned and waited for her order to come.

While she waited, Nikita opened her purse and took out a copy of the Daily Prophet. Her sister had promised an interesting article would appear soon.
