Christiana looked at him with eyes full of hurt as he just brushed her off. He was supposed to be her boyfriend and this baby's father, the least he could have done was talk to her and not at her. He would not even let her get a word in and she hated that. She ran past him and Chaz, a tear in her eye, glistening on her cheek.

Chaz nodded. "I'll have them for you before your next class. How many leaves are we talking here? Would a pound do it?" He looked up as Christiana ran by by the looks of it, headed to her office. "Look Duncan, you know I usually keep quiet about this stuff man, but whatever has Christy upset dude you need to talk to her. I'm only saying this because you're my friend, but that little girl loves you with everything in her. Now I'm not accusing man but, I don't like to see my friends cry." He said as he walked with Duncan toward the greenhouses.

Luminita Lună glared at the Slytherin third years since the class begin. They had been causing trouble. They even had the nerve to tell her that she didn't know anything about a hippogriff. They had even aggravated her hippogriff but luckily for them Feather had ignored them. After finishing her speech on the hippogriff, what they ate, and what nots Lumi asked the class who wanted to ride the hippogriff. Of course there were not any volunteers so it was her job to pick one. "Mr. Daniels come." She decided on a young Ravenclaw who had been taking notes and was one of the few that actually knew of a hippogriff.

"Me, Professor? Why not Alex?" The boys eyes flickering to a near by Slytherin.

Lumi sighed and answered "Now." The boy did as he was told. Once he was there Lumi turned so she was facing the class and him. "Walk toward her, and bow, and wait. You do this because a hippogriff is very polite and this is the proper way to approach one. Now if she bows back, you're allowed to touch her. If she doesn't bow, then move away very slowly! Also dont blink a lot they will not trust you if you blink to much." James bowed slowly, Luminita could tell the boy was scared. For a moment she thought Feather wasn't going to bow but then she did. She then told the class and James how to touch the boy. "...Let her approach you, just hold out your hand and wait!" Finally Feather and James got to know each other and now the flying. She helped the boy onto Feather and told him the warning that she was required to give, "Do not pull any of her feathers. Do not try to pull her and do not aggravate her." Giving Feather another dead ferret before the two left.

Once the boy landed Lumi helped him down and said "Class dismissed. And don't think just because its the first class doesn't mean you won't have homework. I am not Professor Benedict. With a wave of her wand a piece of paper was distributed to each of the students, as it was received a groan came with it. A smile appeared on her face for a bit it was fun being a Professor--at the moment. After the class had emptied she realized her next class wasn't for another hour. What was she to do, she didn't have any papers to grade or anything! Time to roam the halls. Seeing a group of Slytherins corned in a one of the hall corners she walked over to investigate and what she saw she didn't like. "Detention for a week for all four of you, next time points will be taken. Seeing Izarre and Will, she walked over just in time for Izarre to catch a couple of Ravenclaws. "Hello, Izarre and Will. Hope I am not intruding.

Carol nodded silently, stepping towards the seat. Her fingers reached the plush velvet moment before she sat down gingerly. Remembering that it was highly unlikely that a student would put a dungbomb or a whoopee cushion in Gabriel's room, his strictness being a main factor.

Catching his eye, Carol's breath hitched a little at the torment behind the eyes of her coworker. Somehow, he seemed calm. But then again, he had never been loud or rash in her presence. But she tuned in just in time to hear him speak.

"Dunderhead seems like a strong w-," she started, peering at the paper before the sentence died on her tongue. "Potions was never my forte, but I'm sure Aconite was not known as lacewings. And is certainly not used in Polyjuice Potions." she muttered, shaking her head a little.

Sometimes, the trouble the students put Gabriel and the other professors through seemed a lot more than her own. Maybe because most of them needed anger management sessions, but that was beside the point. She'd never seen ridiculousness like this on an essay.

"Oh, me?" she asked, surprised by his abrupt question. "No, not really. I have far too much time on my hands during the day."

And that time was certainly not used to sleep. There was a reason she seldom attended breakfast.

"Yup!" He replied, feigning energy. He was already exhausted; he had decided to skip his sixth year Defence Against the Dark Arts class that morning, and slept in. He glanced at the sniggering Slytherins and shrugged. Whatever.

And OWLS? "Simple." He replied with a wink. "Pressure." Sure, it was unorthodox, but scaring the crap out of his students hadn't failed yet.

His weary blue eyes fell on a Ravenclaw with a bag. Meh. Fortunately for him (but unfortunately for the Ravenclaw), Lune corrected her. He probably wouldn't have deducted points, but he wasn't a Head of House; so he had no particular loyalties.



"Jeez, guys, it's their first day." Said Will, as Lumi came over, nodding at the sulking Slytherins. "Go easy on them. He shrugged, draining his coffee cup. "And no, you're not intruding."

He glanced at his watch and groaned. "I'm supposed to be teaching a fifth year class right now." He said lazily. He then shrugged and flicked his wand, refilling his coffee cup. "They'll be fine."

Gabriel observed her a bit. Which he rarely does except to his students. He chuckled after hearing what she said. Gabriel knew that Carol quite excelled in this particular subject. He was lost in his thoughts but then was snapped back to reality when he heard her answer his question.

"Then perhaps, will you accompany me? I was rather getting fond of Chaz's garden and getting sick of keeping myself to the dungeon while grading sixth years' essay." proposed Gabriel as he stood up and offered his hand to Carol.

A pound?! That was way more then enough. A pound could probably be enough for two classes, and a cup of tea. "Why yes. A pound of them would be delightful. If I'm not in my room could you just set it on the front desk please?" He replied to the Professor.

Whaaa? Him blowing off his girl whaa? Oh no. He should've spent a bit longer with her. ****. I screwed up. "Oh dear. I'll have to explain alot of things to her. And I might need something." Then an idea hit him. "I have an idea. I'll propose to her. Then we could have the wedding here in Hogwarts." He replied.

A small smile crossed her lips at Gabriel's chuckle before it broke into a full out grin. His laugh, whether he chose to believe it or not, was rather catchy. He should do it more often, and maybe lighten up around his students. Maybe then he'd be able to get more enjoyable lessons with cooperative students. But she would never question his methods. Sometimes he wished that some days would be like this. Simple, carefree yet enjoyable. In that walk, he forgot his worries and whatever people might think. He doesn't care, as long as he's with her. He loosened up, smile, and most of all laugh. Things that he rarely do. Gabriel looked at Carol fondly, he knew enjoys this woman's company.

"A pound it will be, and where should I put the roses you're going to be needing too mate?" He grinned cheekily. Chaz listened as the professor went on. "Good Idea." He replied, then looked at the clock. "I better get those leaves and those roses." He grinned, then headed out to the gardens stopping first by Chamomile and Peppermint plants to gather about half a pound of tea leaves each, after all, Duncan had not specified what kind. Then after placing them in a basket, he went over to his rose bushes and pulling his Shears from his back pocket and began to cut a couple of dozen long-stemmed red roses and add them to the basket for Duncan. Chaz looked up and saw Izzare and Will and Lumi coming from one direction, and Gabriel and Carol coming from the other. He laughed and went out with them. "What's this? Am I hosting a staff meeting and I didn't know it?" He laughingly asked them all.

Christiana ran into her office and slammed the door. She took the potion, then straightened her makeup, taking a deep breath she stood and walked back into her classroom to prepare for the 7th years. She'd have to remember to ask Chaz to help her next week when she planned on teaching about animagi. She took her seat behind her desk and waited for the bell.

And she didn't. Chaz did. Smiling good naturedly, she raised her free hand in greeting. "Hey, Chaz," she smiled. "I thought you guys had classes?" she said, eyebrow raised at the other professors there. Or was it lunchtime already?

She hardly noticed anymore.

Chaz smiled. "I don't, not for about 30 minutes." He walked over and Kissed Carolyn's cheek and as was his custom he gave her a rose. He liked to sometimes surprise the female teachers with flowers. "I better get these things to Duncan before he has a fit." He gestured to the tea and roses.

Izarre shook her head, unable to stop a smile escaping her lips. She rolled her eyes at him at his laid-back approach to the fifth-years important exams, but didn't comment. It had proven to work in the past, so who was she to argue with success for her colleague?

She grinned at Luminita as she came over. "Hey Lumi," she greeted. She shook her head as the Slytherins came past, muttering about their detentions. "There's no point in letting them off just because it's the first week," she said, looking evenly at Benedict. "They'll think they can get away with anything! We can save any relaxation of rules to the last week of term." The first-years of course had to be trained like puppies into Hogwarts life, but older students should know better.

Behind her, the second-year Hufflepuffs and Slytherins were filing into her classroom for their lesson. She was about to excuse herself when Benedict flicked off his fifth-years. She couldn't help laughing, giving him a little push towards his own classroom. "Go on, you lazy hombre," she said. "Go and actually teach something for once." With that, she turned and swept into her classroom.

He felt a pang of jealousy towards Chaz's gesture even though he knows it wasn't appropriate. It was something no one made him feel before.

Who am I to feel this? he asked himself mentally.

However, he hid it within the mask of his smile. He looked towards the two and said,

Carolyn blushed furiously, ducking her head in an effort to hide it from plain sight, accepting the rose. There were students everywhere. And rumours. It was Hogwarts. There would be numerous seventh years bombarding her office and harassing her for details. Where were the other female teachers when she needed them? Teaching, no doubt.

Turning to look at Gabriel, she noticed the pained expression and offered a small smile. Squeezing his hand, she shook her head discreetly. No.

Tucking her hair back behind her ear, she shrugged. "That would be nice," she smiled, looking at Gabriel contentedly. She didn't need to leave now, but she would if Chaz and Gabriel were hungry.

"You two go on, I have the second lunch period after this class. I had better get these things to Duncan, you know how he gets..." It was well known that the beloved divination professor could get a bit high strung. "Carol, when you get a chance you might want to go see Christiana, I think she needs a female friend to talk to." Chaz walked over to the edge of the flower bed and picked up the basket for Duncan and carried it inside. He climbed up the stairs and knocked on the floor-door of the divination classroom. Then he whispered the password and let himself in, leaving the half pound of peppermint tea leaves and half pound of chamomile tea leaves as well as 2 dozen red roses.

After that was done he needed to speak with the headmaster that he'd be makingthe annoucement in front of the whole entire chool at supper. So he headed up to the headmaster's office, and knocked on he door four times. Each knock a second before and after ec knock.

Inwardly, Gabriel felt so much relieved or more appropriately, elated. This beautiful woman made him happy.

Lumi raised an eyebrow at Will before rolling her eyes. After listening to what Izarre had to say Lumi agreed "Exactly, if you don't punish the older kids who should know better than how do you expect the first years to know the rules. Plus it is so much fun seeing them groan about detention. You don't want detention do not break the rules. It was as simple as that. Again Lumi raised an eyebrow at Will before laughing. How could he just push off a class that should be important it was the year the students would have OWLS.

She laughed as Will was pushed over to his class. She looked as Slytherin and Hufflepuff second years entered. Lumi said "Can I stay in the back for a couple minutes just until I think of something to do. My next class is not until forever!" Really she had about forty minutes left but to Lumi that felt like hours.

Carolyn nodded in understanding, promising to go without so much as opening her mouth. Twirling her rose between her fingers, she raised her hand in goodbye as Chaz left. Then, turning towards Gabriel, she noticed that his hand had left hers. A little disappointed, she shook herself. She shouldn't feel these things for a coworker.

Slipping her hand into the crook of his elbow, she nodded. "Let's go, then." Beaming brightly, she promptly ignored the hushed whispers of students everywhere as they made their way to the staff table.

He looked at Carol to see her reaction, but instead he felt his jaw dropped to the opposite of the world. What he saw was- no, is the most radiant smile he have seen his entire life. He felt a bit of disdain towards himself.

But the other side of him felt proud. He couldn't contain the happiness inside of him still, he doesn't want his students to see him smile. It would surely cause a ruckus. He just smirked at them as they arrive at the Great Hall. Thoughtfully, he pulled out the chair for her and waited for her to sit down before he do.

Gabriel knew it was kind of a bit old gentleman gesture but he wanted her to feel comfortable whenever he's with her.

After class was over, Christiana went into the great hall for lunch. She sat alone at the edge of the staff table. She picked at her food. She bit her lip and nibbled on a cracker. She kept looking up then sighing and looking back at her plate.

Chaz headed back to his next class. A bunch of 7th years who he set to tending the Mandrakes.

Headmaster Robert Merthin twiddled his thumbs behind his back as he walked merrily down the corridors of Hogwarts. He had no classes for the rest of the morning, so he did what he always did. Roamed about.

His aloof manner was off-putting for most people, but Robert honestly didn't care. His eccentricity was endearing to a lot of people too- not to mention his face. So, in all, he had a 50/50 popularity rate with the general public. Arrogant, but oddly likable.

He sipped his wooden flask of pumpkin juice, and then flicked his wand. It disappeared from his hand, but he knew it would be on his desk by now. He hummed the new Weird Sisters song to himself as he passed a couple of classrooms- content in his own company. As usual.

Carolyn met Garbriel's eyes for a brief moment as he turned to face her but looked down when she felt her skin beginning to heat up. Willing her skin to return to its normal pale coloring, she relaxed visibly. Turning to face Gabriel, the left corner of her mouth twitched into a smile.

His smirk was something she had grown used to. Especially since she had hardly, if ever seen him smiling.

"Thank you," she said, as he pulled her chair out for her. The girls would beg her for details tonight for sure, she mused as she sat down. No whoopee cushion. Thank Merlin.

Chaz sighed as he explained for the millionth time why a pair of earplugs were necessary for tending mandrakes. He found himself thinking like Gabriel that the students either chose not to listen on purpose or they were a bunch of complete dunderheads.

Christiana looked up at Carolyn anf gathered her things and came over, sitting down next to her. "I'm sorry, I'm just a bit of an emotional time bomb right now." Christiana tried to smile, but did not really succeed. "Duncan and I we're going to have a baby." She whispered to Carolyn. "And when I went to tell him he said he'd seen it in a vision and he was in a hurry to get tea leaves. He would not even let me speak." She bit her lower lip, blinking back tears once again before picking up her fork and picking at her food again.
