The Hughes Estate located in London, England are apart of the lives of current Hogwarts student, Landon Hughes, and Stacie Roxwell. This estate used to belong to Landon's cousin, Andrew Paxson, but due to tragic events, Andrew left the estate to Stacie until Landon is old enough. They will continue to host many events at their estate starting off with Landon's birthday party and many more events to come.
SPOILER!!: The Hughes/Paxson Estate's Rooms
Bathrooms are in the estate, just not shown here. :3
Landon Hughes' birthday party is set during the break for the winter holidays. His real birthday is on October 31st, but to celebrate it with other friends, he decided to move it to a couple days before Christmas.
----------
On a snowy day of December 21st, a party was being held at The Hughes/Paxson Estate in London. Red and green banners were hung everywhere throughout the place, as well as other birthday and holiday decorations. In the kitchen, there was as much food as you can think of sitting on top of the counter and on the top of the table next to it. Even the oreos had a seperate table. The game room was set up to where the party was going to be held. There was a table to put the presents on, with a cake that read "Happy Not-So-Late Birthday, Landon", and a couple of games set aside for later.
So what were the people who were already there doing? Landon Hughes was sitting down in the chill room listening to some music before the party, Andrew Paxson was in the kitchen eating some chips, and Daphne Hughes was at the door ready to greet Landon's friends.
Happy Not-So-Late Birthday, Landon.

Daphne smiled at Francesca. "Thanks, it's not mine, it's Andrew's and...practically Landon's." She nodded, leading them down the stairs to where Landon and everyone else were. "And here's the party."

Daphne beamed at James' blush. He was adorable, really. "You're welcome." She said, then blushed as what he said next. "I'll look forward to seeing yours." She said, waving as she watched Francesca and James go down the stairs and into the party area.

Beaming as he heard the door open, Chris was about to wrap his arms around Landon when he realized it was not his best mate but....a girl. He shrugged his shoulder and gave Daphne a hug anyway. "Hi, Daphne! I'm Christopher, your brother's beeeeestest friend!" He walked through the door and looked around the house he had only been to once or twice before. "Did you decorate? It's look so cool!!" All he could do was stand in the hallway and look around at how Christmasy everything was. 'I LOVE CHRISTMAS!' Was literally all that was running through the fifteen year old's head at this point.
Before Daphne knew what was going on, she was being hugged and was glad that the guy let go. Oh, so this was Chris! She giggled and nodded. "Nice to meet you." She smiled. "Yeah, well....Landon did, but Andrew had to fix everything since Landon was being lazy." Typical Landon.

"Hey, Daphne. I'm Ryan." Cue another grin. As he extended his hand for her to shake (being a gentleman always gave good first impressions), his eyes roved Daphne's face and then the hall they were standing in. Clearly, Andrew was swimming in galleons. He whistled loudly as he turned back to the blonde.
"Awesome place. And awesome decorations," He added. Just then, he realized who else was in the hallway with him--none other than his one and only Boo Bear.
"CHRISTOPHER STYLINSON!" Ryan said loudly. He glanced at his best mate's red pants, (heavy glancing on his behind, cough) and then grinned. "Love the outfit, mate."
Oh. So this was THE Ryan Myles that Landon talked about. How come he never mentioned how amazingly good-looking he was? Ugh.
"Nice to meet you." She smiled, shaking his hand. She was about to turn but realized she was still holding his hand. She blushed and let go. Well this was awkward. "So...um, thanks." She nodded, looking around. Christmas decorations always made her happy.
Before she knew it, Ryan was already distracted by-Chris? She eyed Ryan looked at Chris' bum and shook her head. She won't even question that right now. "Alright, you two, Landon's going to kill me if not everyone is downstairs by now. C'mon." She said, grabbing a hold of the boy's hands and leading them downstairs. "I'll be down in a couple of seconds. Have fun." She winked, then ran back up the stairs.
Hopefully they were the last ones.

And Ella though Alec used lots of hair products. That do was like...stuck in place. Hmm...Maybe Ella would pick Landon's brain about hair care later on. Yeah! That would be good. "You're welcome." Grin. "Yeah! And Happy Holidays to you as well! I love Christmas." But who didn't, right? Christmas was lovely! She nodded her head, looking around the room with wide green eyes. "Yeah...I can tell. It's really neat, though. Great place for a party."
Landon grinned as Ella complimented him. "Don't shoot yourself down, I'm sure you're a great singer." He nodded, patting her head. He nodded as she said she loved Christmas. It was his second favorite holiday, the first was Halloween-because of his birthday of course. Heheh. "Thanks!" He said, looking around as well. It was very spacious.

She looked at Ella and smiled. "I'm very good, how are you?" she asked. Melanie had loved her break so far; it was wonderful to just be back with family and all that after being at Hogwarts for a few months. Glancing down at her shoes, Melanie laughed. "Shhhhh...." Melanie said, holding a finger up. "They're my cousin's and I'm borrowing them... kinda..." Well... she had kinda... "borrowed" them from her cousin's suitcase. Without... her... cousin's permission.
But her cousin didn't know and what her cousin didn't know wouldn't kill her right?
"You look really nice," Melanie said. Because she really liked Ella's dress. It was pretty. "Pobby, Queen Alice, you guys look nice too," Melanie added quickly. Just so... y'know... no one would get offended. Now...
"So..." Melanie started, her voice trailing off as she looked around the place, "what is there to do at your party, Mister Hughes?" Melanie asked. Because sitting here was nice and all... but it would be nice to do something too. Wasn't that what people did at parties? Do things? At her parties with her family all they did was usually sit around and sing karaoke which was fun.
Landon laughed as Melanie said that he looked nice. "I already know that, Melon." He said, fixing his hair. Hah. "But I appreciate it, you look nice too." He winked, then standing up. On to what they all were going to do...
Daphne walked downstairs after getting everyone settled and blushed at all the guys who were here. She was definitely okay with this. Hehe. She took a seat on the floor and waited for Landon to give instructions on what they were all going to do.
Landon watched as Daphne walked down the stairs to join them with all the other guests who came. Right. So they probably should get to the first game. "EVERYONE!" He yelled, "Sit down in a circle; we're going to play truth or dare." He smirked. This was going to be good. He took a seat next to Daphne, waiting for the others to join.

James sat down next to Daphne and studied her. Not in a stalker ish way, but curiously. She was really pretty, and she was extremely friendly. She was pretty much the perfect person all together. James already liked her a lot - which seemed a little weird, but he couldn't help it. She was a very likeable person, Daphne was.
Francesca liked this place a lot. She sat down next to James, who was watching Landon's sister, Daphne. But it was Landon himself that Francesca was interested in. James had written to her about Landon, and now Francesca was lucky enough to meet him in person.

"That's good, I'm good as well." Nod. And excited. Parties always put Ella in a bouncy mood, even more so than usual. The blonde raised an eyebrow when her clumsy-sister hushed her, revealing that she'd kinda sorta stolen borrowed the shoes she was wearing from her cousin. Ella laughed, shaking her head. "No worries, my lips are sealed." And she pretended to lock her mouth, turning an imaginary key with her hand.
The blonde smiled and turned a bit pink when Melanie complimented how she looked. "I...thanks. So do you...everyone does." Really, it was quite an attractive group of people!
O___O
WaitWHAT? Truth or dare? Ella bit her lip, suddenly feeling quite nervous. The truth part didn't scare her so much as Ella always told the truth. It was the dare part that freaked her out. And plus, she wasn't sure how Harvey would feel about all this. She was just a bit uncomfortable about the whole thing.
Plopping down on the ground, the blonde smiled nervously and played with her hands. Right. This was going to be great.
Daphne walked downstairs after getting everyone settled and blushed at all the guys who were here. She was definitely okay with this. Hehe. She took a seat on the floor and waited for Landon to give instructions on what they were all going to do.

Minnie chuckled a bit at how Landon got all excited about playing truth or dare.l In fact she was a bit scared what was gonna happen, but what bad things could come from it.Really. Smiling at him she sat down and waited foe the others to take their places. Surely, this would be fun. It was great to hang out with everyone. Some fun secrets should probably be revealed too. Hehe.Patting the space next to her the blonde waited for her best friend, Chris to join her.

Christopher turned around to the sound of Ryan yelling his name and was just about to go give his fiance a big and manly hug when Landon was calling everyone over to a circle. He reached for Ryan's hand and ran over to the circle, making sure to sit down right next to where his best friend Minnie was sitting. He wasn't too sure if he was going to like playing truth or dare but he figured he'd rather do dare than let out any truths as it was. Chris sat on his bottom and, hugged Minnie tightly, and waved to everyone in the circle, waiting for the game to officially start.

{ Scene 2 :: Chris Visits Landon}
On a hot Summer's day in the month of August, Christopher Stylinson will visit his friend, Landon. During this time, Chris has something very important to tell Landon about a certain girl that Landon once dated. Landon could either take this situation easily or not so easily.
Getting out of the taxi, Chris paid the driver and stared up at the massive house. Although Landon didn't really know the reason he was there, Chris knew that today would change the way his best friend saw him. He took in a deep breath and walked up the steps leading to Andrew's/Landon's house. Before ringing the door bell, he went over the speech he had planned on giving, making sure he knew exactly how to get Landon to be okay with it. After about five minutes, he lifted his finger and rang the doorbell and waited.

Stacie Roxwell had just finished taking the cinnamon rolls out of the oven when she heard the doorbell ring. She took out her wand and flicked it at the frosting, quickly covering the rolls as she raced to the door. "I'll get it, Landon!" She called towards her nephew who was in the living room watching television.
Landon Hughes watched as his aunt was racing towards the door and he remembered that Chris was supposed to come today. "Noooooo!" He called out, getting up from the couch and running towards the door. He watched as Stacie got there first and he lightly pushed her out of the way and opened it, seeing Chris. "Hey, man!" He grinned.
Stacie glared at her nephew who had her hiding behind the door as he talked to his friend. She placed her hand over his face and moved him out of the way, as she said hello to his friend. "Hello dollface. You must be Chris." She smiled. "I'm Stacie, Landon's aunt." She held out her hand for him to shake.
Landon gave up from trying to move Stacie out of the way. And even though she was short, she was really strong. She was his aunt after all and he was not getting in trouble. Especially if he wanted those cinnamon rolls. So instead, he just made silly faces as he stood behind her, while she talked to Chris.

As soon as the door opened, Chris looked up to see Landon's face being pushed out of the way as a really pretty lady made her way into the doorway. He smirked and blushed a little as she introduced herself, and gladly shook her hand. "I wish my aunt was like you! Assuming you'd never push my face out of the way of course!" Before he could complete his introduction, he looked above Stacie and saw Landon making faces behind her back and now he was struggling to keep himself from laughing. "I...pffft...uh-I--I'm C-C-C-HRIS. HAHA!" As soon as the laugh escaped his mouth, his eyes went wide and he quickly covered his mouth with his hand and laughed at the ground. "S-s-sorryyyy," he mumbled. "I just, uuuuh" He looked back up at Landon and shrugged his shoulders. "I just remembered this REALLY funny joke!" He composed himself and got ready to tell the best joke ever. "Okay, so, why did the mushroom go to the party?!" Surely this would get Stacie to stop being suspicious and let him in the house at some point in time.

Stacie laughed as Chris introduced himself. "No worries, I definitely won't." She smiled, then stepped back as the kid started to laugh. She furrowed her brows and put a hand on her face to see if there was something on it. No, of course there wasn't. She did work at Madame Primpernelle's after all, it was flawless. So what was he-oh...a joke?
"Um...I don't know. Why?" She said, tilting her head to the side.
Landon quietly laughed as he continued to make silly faces behind his aunt's back. He turned around as Chris started telling a joke and he started to laugh hysterically. Okay. He couldn't take this any longer.
He walked back to the door and put an arm around Stacie, moving her to the side as he grabbed Chris by the arm and pulled him in. "This was getting ridiculous." He said, with a huge smile. "And you thought something was on your face." He laughed, pointing to Stacie.

"BE-" Before Christopher could even finish telling his super awesome amazing bestest joke eveeeer, Landon was already pulling him into the house and dragging him somewhere new. "HEY!!" He continued walking but then looked back and yelled, "BECAUSE HE WAS A FUNGI!" Chris then began laughing almost hysterically and followed his friend throughout the house. [b]"Mate, you can't tell me that isn't the best joke ever."[b] Sure, he knew at least a hundred other jokes not really but that one would always be his default joke. It wasn't nearly as funny as the joke about the baboon and the giraffe. Realizing he had forgotten his manners, he took a huuuge breath and yelled once again, "Oh...IT WAS NICE MEETING YOOOU STACIIIEEE!" There. Now he could go back home and brag to his mum about how great she raised him and how all adults loved him so much. Manners mattered.
"Right...so...let's get down to business...to defeat....the HUNS!" Now Chris was really done.

Stacie rolled her eyes at Landon and closed the front door after Chris. She laughed as Chris yelled the rest of the joke and she merely shook her head. She wasn't surprised though. He was Landon's friend. "You're hilarious, dollface!" She yelled back. "Nice meeting you as well!" She smiled and then walked down the stairs into the basement to get out of the crazy kid's ways.
Landon let go of Chris' arm as he reached the kitchen. "Yeah, yeah. Best joke ever, whatever." He shook his head, grabbing one of the cinnamon rolls. "Though really, the best joke was when you were going mad over my aunt." He laughed.
He eyed his friend at the whole 'defeat the huns' thing and shook his head once more. "I sometimes wonder about you, man, and then I don't, because you've got some crazy thoughts." He said, lightly punching his shoulder.
The fifteen-year-old picked up the plate of cinnamon rolls and walked into the living room, taking a seat on the couch. "Help yourself by the way." He nodded, towards the plate. "So what's up? You looked sort of worried when I opened the door."

"Mate. You're the one that likes hanging out with me anyway!" Chris said this with the most serious face he could pull but after a few seconds of holding it he beamed at Landon. He'd always be in denial that he was just as weird as Chris and that was okay. As long as he didn't stop ACTING as weird. After all, Landon did love Oreos and that was already weird enough. "Plus, I'm pretty sure my thoughts are fairly normal! You just don't realize that we have the same sort of thoughts."
Laughing and making his way over to the couch, Christopher plopped down next to Landon and reached over for a cinnamon roll but decided against it. He figured his mouth and mind couldn't be busy if he wanted to get all of the words out right. "Oh yeah....well........um........" He just sort of sat there staring at Landon as he ate the pastry and looked for the right words to start off. So much for preparing a speech. "Okay, so....I wanted to talk to you....about....erm..............this person." That was a good start right? Not too specific so he doesn't get mad or weird too soon. "She's a girl, actually, that person, I mean. And....you know her.....and......stuff.....so yeah.............BUT try to keep an open mind to what I'm gonna tell you, yeah?" This was going to be the worst talk ever. He could feel it, but Ryan and Dr. Starr both told him it was time to tell Landon what was up so he was only following orders. No bid deal, right?

"She's a girl, actually, that person, I mean. And....you know her.....and......stuff.....so yeah.............BUT try to keep an open mind to what I'm gonna tell you, yeah?" This was going to be the worst talk ever. He could feel it, but Ryan and Dr. Starr both told him it was time to tell Landon what was up so he was only following orders. No bid deal, right?
Landon tried not to laugh at Chris' serious face and then once Chris' facial expression broke, he fell onto the floor, laughing. "Oh man, yeah, okay, you're the exception." He said, standing back up and plopping back onto the couch. And this was why they were best friends. They were way too similiar.
He waited for Chris to take a cinnamon roll and when he didn't, Landon shrugged and placed the plate on the table. He wasn't going to question it. Maybe the guy just wasn't hungry. Now if it was Tag or himself...yeah he'd question it.
When Chris started to seem all tense, Landon tilted his head and turned towards him on the couch as he listened. It had to be important if Chris was really hesitant on all of this. As he listened though, his thoughts immediately went to Melanie and Minnie. Did Chris like one of them? Both of the them? Is he dating one of them? Are they hurt? He immediately shook those thoughts off as Chris continued and Landon nodded when Chris finished. "I mean-yeah, I'll keep an open mind. Just...what are you talking about?" He said, setting the cinnamon roll down onto the plate. He couldn't eat and think at the same time. That just couldn't happen right now.

Chris looked back and forth between the cinnamon roll that was just placed back on the plate and Landon. 'Oh no.' It was definitely not normal for him to stop eating which meant maybe this wouldn't go all that well. Nodding his head, slowly, Chris finally focused on Landon's quiff so he wouldn't have to make direct eye contact, and continued talking. "Right, cool, yeah. Okay, so, this person and I are really close and we have been for a while and she's super cool and...and....well......it didn't ever mean anything before, I swear!" Christopher looked down at this hands now and tried looking for the right words to just spit it out. "I just, I didn't know how to tell you but I really thought you should know..." He took one more huuuge breath and finally said it. "I'm pretty sure I love her, mate...or rather...I'm in love with her."

Landon listened to Chris as he started talking and zoned out as he noticed his friend's eyes weren't actually looking at him but....his hair? "Dude. ...Chris! If you want me to take you seriously, you can't look at my hair, it makes me freak out." He laughed, shaking his head. "Okay, now continue."
He listened to the rest of what he had to say and he felt like his heart just dropped to his stomach. If it was so important to tell him, he had to know this girl really personally. And Chris was in love with her? Oh no.
"Who-who is it, Chris? Tell me who it is." He said, in a bit of a demanding tone. He had to know now. He was worried. Extremely worried.
And wait....wasn't Chris dating someone already? But he didn't know her personally....oh no.

As soon as Landon asked who he was talking about, he wondered if he really knew and just wanted to be sure or if he just had no idea whatsoever. Surely, after a whole year, he had some idea as to who he'd be talking about and Chris didn't really want to say her name. If he said it, it would only make everything so much more real. That would mean a lot of change that he just wasn't sure he was ready for. He looked away again and began to mumble her name but stopped and readjusted his position on the couch, moving towards the edge just in case Landon decided to attack him. Which was definitely a possibility since he had a temper, even if the two boys had never actually fought before.
Only a minute or so had passed of silence but it felt like an entire century. Chris didn't want to say her name and then decide he didn't really mean it. He still had Tiffany to worry and care about. And he really did care about her buuut he just didn't feel the same way for her as he did this other girl. He went through everything in his head one more time and realized that he had made the final decision back in Australia before Landon had ever even asked her out. But it didn't matter as much back then as it did now! They had been separated for a few months and never got back together and Chris had been her rock when she needed someone most and she was his BEST friend after all of the boys. This was serious. This was so serious. And he'd already said all of the other words, he just needed that one word that was 6 letters long and 2 syllables. Fast and easy and then he could get it over with and wait for Landon to punch him like he had punched Ryan for saying he kissed Daphne. Yeah. Surely a punch wouldn't be too bad, right? He'd probably feel a sharp pain and then his face would go numb and then he'd look really ugly for a bit buuuut Landon would be over it by then. He was almost sure of it.
Not really sure how many minutes had passed now, Chris looked Landon right in the eye and said it. "Minnie."

Landon heard Chris mumble someone's name but he couldn't hear it and this was just getting frustrating. "What did you say?" He asked, putting a hand behind his ear to hear. Ugh, he felt like an old grandpa.
He then watched as Chris slid down to the edge of the couch and he raised his eyebrow. Was he really afraid of him? Then again, he had punched Ryan that one time he confessed to kissing Daphne, but hopefully this was different. HOPEFULLY. Or else he would go crazy.
. . .
Landon was getting flustered now as he waited for Chris to finally say this girl's name. It had to either be Melanie or Minnie. It just had to be. Those were the two girls who they both knew personally. Or Daphne, but if it was Daphne, Chris wouldn't even be here. He'd probably be smarter than that.
. . .
It was almost like slow motion when Chris finally said it. The girl's name. Landon watched Chris open his mouth but the girl's name wasn't coming to his ears just right at first.
He sat there, blank faced, as he stared at Chris. He didn't know what he was feeling right now. So many mixed emotions were going through him. Minnie was his ex-girlfriend...but he didn't want to break up with her at that time that he did and now his best friend was IN LOVE with her?
He stuttered trying to say something and then shook his head, thinking that it wasn't the best choice. It was true though that he had his sights set on someone else at the moment but having Chris liking Minnie was not something he was ready for. He still had feelings for the girl and what if they actually got together? He would have to seem them at school together all the time...kissing and what not.
The boy shivered and looked down, trying to get his thoughts straight. But...Chris was his best friend and he knew that Chris would be loyal to Minnie. But still, he still liked her and....and...
. . .
The fifteen-year-old looked up at his best friend and nodded. "Okay."
Christopher sat, ready to flee if necessary, wondering what in the world was going on inside of Landon's head. He would understand if he never wanted to talk to him again. Landon had asked him when he had first started talking to Minnie if it was okay with Chris...and he had lied and said it was okay. That was his own fault. And he also knew that his friend wasn't entirely over Minnie because, really, how could anyone get over her? But he had said what he needed to say and was ready for Landon's response.
Finally, he saw the word leave his mouth before it actually reached his ears and Chris's eyes went wide. Never once did he imagine Landon would just say 'okay'. As many times as he had gone over this day in his head, he always figured his friend would get mad and yell or just....leave the room or something but being okay with it was just weird. "I..." Now he was confused. "Does that mean....that....I can......I don't know, mate. What does 'okay' mean?" Chris hadn't actually thought through what would happen once he admitted his feelings for Minnie. He would have to break up with Tiffany because it wasn't fair to her and then...he wasn't sure what. "I don't know that I'll do anything but...you're saying that you'd be okay if I did?" Chris found that too hard to believe.

Landon watched as Chris's eyes went wide and he just sat there with a blank expression on his face while Chris asked him what he really meant. Honestly Landon was surprised himself that he said okay. But he knew that he already had his chance with Minnie and he blew it. So might as well give his best friend a chance. "I'm saying that I'm okay with you being in lov-...you know what I mean." He trailed off, looking at the plate of cinnamon rolls. Though his appetite was actuually gone now.
"But yeah. If you do date her I'm okay with it....just...don't hurt her okay?" Landon asked looking up at Chris with a semi-sad face.

Nodding his response, Chris wasn't sure what to say really. He felt relieved but still horrible to some extent. But if Landon said everything was okay, then that meant everything was okay, right? He'd never tell him it was okay if it wasn't? Even if Chris had done that to him not that long ago. "I would never." He eventually said, making sure Landon knew that he would never even think of hurting Minnie....EVER. Chris sat back onto the couch comfortably, not sure what was supposed to happen next. He though he could hear Stacie moving around downstairs and almost hoped she'd walk up to relieve the tension in the room. "Umm...so...are we okay? You're still my best mate, yeah?" Because mates came before girls, right? Even if Minnie was one of his best friends anyway. He had known Landon longer and that was what mattered. Chris could never imagine asking Minnie anything if his friend was still hurt over it.

Landon simply nodded as he heard what he knew Chris would say. He knew on the inside that Chris wouldn't hurt Minnie, but he needed to hear it. He couldn't take chances with someone he truly cared for. He looked up as Chris practically asked if they were still friends and Landon stayed quiet for a couple of seconds. It's not like he didn't want to be, it just was hard for him to see his best friend being so in love with his...ex-girlfriend. He then smiled and patted Chris on the back. "Yeah, we're still 'best mates'." He said, in a English accent, mocking Chris. He shook his head and laughed.
After a few quiet seconds he asked, "So are you going to tell her then?"

Was he going to tell her? As in, was Christopher going to go up to Minnie and just casually tell her he had been in love with her for some time now? He'd have to lie about how long and who knew what else? But telling her just sounded like the best choice. What was the point in telling Landon if Minnie would never know? Chris stared at the wall behind his friend and nodded. "I think....I think I might, yeah. But....maybe not....right away?" He didn't want to scare her away, for all he knew Minnie just thought of him as a childish friend.
What if she didn't though? What if how he felt mattered? Nodding his final answer, Chris said, "Yeah. I'm going to tell her." And if all went well, maybe he would ask her out or something?
...but maybe asking her out first would be the better idea...

Landon casually shrugged as Chris seemed to not be so sure as to when to tell her. He didn't want to give advice to his friend because he was in a state of confusion, anger, and disbelief. But he wouldn't show it. He needed to let Chris be happy and there wasn't a point in keeping Minnie all to himself when they weren't even together anymore.
"Well...uh, good luck I guess." He simply nodded, feeling a bit awkward. "Give me a minute." He said, standing up from the couch and walking into the chill room. He closed the door and then started to scream, trying to get out everything that he could before he went to talk to Chris again. After a minute, he calmed himself and opened the door back up, walking over to the couch and taking a seat. "Sorry, I had to...turn the video game off and it's a lot of...killing and stuff." He said, horribly lying.

Christopher sat calmly, waiting for Landon to come back or for Stacie to show up but when he thought he heard screaming coming from the room in which Landon had just gone into, Chris changed his mind. He had a definite feeling that it was time for him to go. Just as Landon came out of the room, Chris was pretending to be saying goodbye on the phone. "Mum. I'll be there in a bit. Bye." He shook his head and laughed to himself. "They can be so difficult sometimes, yeah? Like, if I say I'm going home then I'm obviously going home?"
Then, hearing Landon's lie, which was somehow actually worse than Chris's, he was sure that now would be the best time to get up and leave. Laughing nervously, he nodded his head a little too fast and smiled wide. "Yeah, man, totally get it." Chris quickly got up from the couch and shrugged his shoulders at his best friend. "Alright then, mate. I've, uh, got to head out? I'll...see you soon then?" He took a step forward, about to give him an infamous bro-hug but stopped himself and gave him a small smile. "Yeah. Okay. Tell your aunt I said bye?" He gave Landon and small smile and waved. "Bye." Chris causally made his way to the front door and let himself out, hoping the taxi would get there as soon as possible so he wouldn't have to witness anymore screaming he had probably caused.
