He though he could hear Stacie moving around downstairs and almost hoped she'd walk up to relieve the tension in the room. "Umm...so...are we okay? You're still my best mate, yeah?" Because mates came before girls, right? Even if Minnie was one of his best friends anyway. He had known Landon longer and that was what mattered. Chris could never imagine asking Minnie anything if his friend was still hurt over it.
Landon simply nodded as he heard what he knew Chris would say. He knew on the inside that Chris wouldn't hurt Minnie, but he needed to hear it. He couldn't take chances with someone he truly cared for. He looked up as Chris practically asked if they were still friends and Landon stayed quiet for a couple of seconds. It's not like he didn't want to be, it just was hard for him to see his best friend being so in love with his...ex-girlfriend. He then smiled and patted Chris on the back.
"Yeah, we're still 'best mates'." He said, in a English accent, mocking Chris. He shook his head and laughed.
After a few quiet seconds he asked,
"So are you going to tell her then?"
