In the beginning there were 7. Seven cardinal sins that would banish you to Hades. Gula, Desiderium, Ira, Superbia, Avaritia, Inertia and Invidiam. All seven together or separately represent the worst a person could do in life to themselves and others.

But what of the good? What is it to be virtuous? Does anyone really know what the countering seven virtues feel like? Caute, Temperantia, Animi, Lustitia, Amare, Spes and Fidem are things so rarely seen as genuine. They are special indeed, but how does anyone know if it is real or not?

The people who embody these vices and virtues are magical beings. Witches and wizards growing up in the same world as any other one. The only difference is that they can make people feel they way they do all the time. They can influence people to do good...and bad.

All of these people are 17. It is their last year at Hogwarts. It is also the last year that they get a free ride before they have to put their talents into effect in the real world. This is going to be a very wild year.

Boys
Avaritia (Greed)- DaniDiNardo
Animi (Courage)- Luna Midnight
Ira (Wrath)- Wisher
Desiderium (Lust)- Rosa Chispa Princessa
Temperantia (Temperence)- iceblossom
Inertia (Sloth)- vanillasweetheart
Superbia (Pride)- Lilly Moonstone

Girls
Invidiam (Envy)- DaniDiNardo
Gula (Gluttony)- vanillasweetheart
Caute (Prudence)- iceblossom22
Lustitia (Justice)- Jezebel Black
Amare (Love)- Luna Midnight
Spes (Hope)- Lilly Moonstone
Fidem (Faith)- Wisher

There isn't going to be anyone from the HP series. It WILL be based completely at Hogwarts.

I need everyone who will participate in this rp to take one boy and one girl. That way we cut down on the amount of people in the rp. Less people hopefully equals more activity.

SPOILER!!: Relationships

Wrath and Temperence are brothers
Love and Lust are siblings
Envy and Prudence are siblings
Hope and Gluttony are sisters
Faith and Sloth are siblings
Pride and Courage are siblings
Justice and Greed are siblings

Please do not ask for a character. Just post a bio. Faster that way.

I will edit this and put my bios up later.

Thanks.
Lilly

Rubbing her temples, Caute felt her mind stray yet again towards a red-headed Gryffindor who was occupying her thought far too much for her liking. Gula hadn't responded and something just wasn't right. She could feel it. Why hadn't she checked that he was on the train earlier? Why hadn't she waited? prefect duties seemed so trivial now, when she was so worried. When Temperentia hadn't been since since the platform.

Looking up at the sound of Lustitia's voice, she smiled her usual smile. The smile that was part happy and part careful, worried. "Hey Lus," she said, before turning to greet her fellow Ravenclaw before turning to her brother. "Av," she smiled.

At the mention of the holidays, however, her eyes brightened visibly. "They were brilliant," she beamed. "I wrote a piano duet." Tucking a strand of stray auburn hair behind her ear before continuing. "How were yours?"

Noticing a moody Ravenclaw take his seat, Caute weighed the pros and cons of saying hi before actually speaking up. It wouldn't do well to anger Ira. Not well at all.

"Evening, Ira," she smiled. "Had a good summer?" Her eyes did flicker towards the door a moment later, wondering briefly if his brother had arrived yet.

Lus was barely able to contain an eye roll at her brother's obvious confusion at being dragged to the Ravenclaw table. Jeez, it was his potential relationship here, right?

She smiled at Caute's enthusiastic reply about her piano composition. "Great, you should play it for me sometime! I'd really like to hear it." Lus liked music, despite her ineptitude at it. Her singing wasn't exactly angelic, and she'd had to quit violin because her owl Nickelback had developed a habit of screeching like a banshee every time she started playing.
"Mine were ... interesting. Got in a fight again," she admitted sheepishly, pulling up the sleeve of her jumper to reveal a new set of bruises. She glanced guiltily at Avaritia before hiding the bruises again. "A ten-year-old kid was being beaten up by these huge teenagers, I couldn't just do nothing about it." She smiled dryly. "How come all the bullies these days are bigger than me?"

Lus glanced at Ira as Caute plucked up the courage to talk to him. She admired that - Ira intimidated even her sometimes. She bristled internally at that realisation. Nobody should intimidate her! They shouldn't but they did, and a prime example was sitting not two metres from her.
So, of course, Lus scooted over to sit by him.
"Hey!" she said, smiling friendlily. "Had a good holiday?" Lus was working on being nice to people more often, and that was coming into play at possibly the worst moment.

OOC: I am so sorry that I'm late- I was on holidays for 10 days and I thought I'd have wifi (but I didn't)

Temperentia- or Temp drifted alone through Hogwarts, humming lithely to himself- when he heard a couple of his peers (Avaritia, Caute, Ira and Lus) nearby. He walked over to them, smiling quietly as he stood with them, but he did not say a word.

A couple of times he opened his mouth slightly, thinking of something to say, but he then shut it again deeming it stupid or unnecessary to speak aloud.

Caute's eyes drifted towards the door before returning to her empty plate as she waited for a response from Lustitia. She didn't have to wait long for the usual request for her to play it. Ludo Solus was a brilliant spell, but she'd rather have someone else play with her. Logically, there would be more room for mistakes, but infinitely more expression

"Thank you,"
she said, smiling nonetheless. "Maybe after I figure out the dynamics?" Caute knew that Lus liked music, but couldn't quite understand why she had quit the violin. From what Caute had heard, Lus was rather talented at it.

"When will you not get into a fight?"
she smiled almost exasperatedly. Pinching the bridge of her nose, she smiled resignedly, just glimpsing the bruise before Lus had covered it again. Rolling here eyes, she sighed. "Your sense of justice seriously clouds your common sense sometimes," Caute sighed before pulling her wand out. Those bruises looked awful.

The episkey had barely crossed her mind and the glow had only began to surround Lus' arm when she scooted towards Ira. Sometimes, Lus' pride could actually rival Superbia. And pride could bring downfall.

Looking up towards the door, Caute couldn't resist the temptation to heave a quiet sigh of relief. Temperentia was alive, thank Zeus. Or Merlin. Whoever they were supposed to be talking about in this strange place. A rosy tint began to color her cheeks when she caught his eye.

Taking a moment to calm herself, she smiled. "Hi Temp. Had a nice summer?" Had a nice summer? Seriously? That was all she had to say to him? It was the safest road to take, she assured herself. And the blushing could pass as make up, except for the fact that Caute never used make up.

Was it really that painfully obvious?

She wished so bad that he would just act differently. Even if he WAS interested in her, she would be so terrified of him breaking her heart like he had so many other girls. She brushed her hair behind her ear. "What about you? How was your summer?"

Superbia just stared at the two of them and how Vi was bringing down his brother. No matter what happened, they were still brothers. It was his job to protect him.

"That's right. Walk away. We don't need you or your trickery." He called after her. He had to admit to himself that the statement wasn't his strongest, but Vi was being worse than normal. He turned to his little brother and ruffled his hair again.

"Don't worry about her. We all know she is one of the worst people to be around. Are you okay?" He asked softly. He knew he wasn't always the nicest or sincerest, but when it came to his brother, there was never a doubt that he meant every word.

Normally Animi would not have given up so fast but when it came to Lus he had to. Vi was lucky she was a girl because if she was a boy he would have punched her. No he hadn't noticed he wasn't a stalker. It wasn't like he stared at Lus all the time.He was about to yell after her when he saw where she was going all the way over to Lus. Animi didnt even react to the ruffling of his hair usually he would have done it back to Superbia now but he was to sad. He gave a glance over at his brother before frowning and saying Yes she is that's why shes never going to find a guy, no ones stupid enough to actually put up with her. Hmph I'm okay but do you know if you know who hopefully he knew who it was he did not want to say it aloud just yet. likes somebody else? He did not want to get his hopes up. He looked up at his older brother he wasn't really older than him it was only a few minutes...He knew he was acting a bit girly so he straightened him self out and then awaited her brother's answer.

She applied the lip gloss onto her lips just as Haupe finished speaking. "My summer was amazing. We went to France. So much love! My mother even let me match a couple people. And you know people with my blessing never break up. Looking over at Desi and then at Haupe and raised a knowing eyebrow. She could also tell that she did not want her heart to be broken, it was every girls worse nightmare. Seeing Ira walk in she smiled a bit. She loved his attitude like he didn't care. But she saw his glance at her.

Caute nodded fervently. Honestly, sometimes Caute felt like she should be around Lus more often, just so that she wouldn't do anything too reckless. Unfortunately, they had chosen to take different electives. Meaning that that plan was unlikely to happen.

"We all do," she said, watching Lus out the corner of her eye. "I think she jsut needs to realize that she can't save every kid that's going to be bullied. Bullying's a part of the life experience, anyway."

At least that's how she saw it. Lus would probably have a totally different idea.

Caute looked up at her sister's voice, eternally grateful for the distraction. Feeling the rush of blood to her face slowly die down, she smiled. "Hey, Vi," she said, her tone had a hidden note of relief. "It's okay. I was going to go over and say hi, but you were a little busy on Animi."

Busy making him jealous over what exactly, Caute wasn't sure. It was probably about a girl. Vi had a tendency to use these things against people.

She wished so bad that he would just act differently. Even if he WAS interested in her, she would be so terrified of him breaking her heart like he had so many other girls. She brushed her hair behind her ear. "What about you? How was your summer?"

"That's right. Walk away. We don't need you or your trickery." He called after her. He had to admit to himself that the statement wasn't his strongest, but Vi was being worse than normal. He turned to his little brother and ruffled his hair again.
She couldn't help the chuckled that escaped her lips. Trickery? Was that the best he could come up with? Really? She turned to him briefly, deciding that she had just a bit more time to waste. "It's not trickery when it's true." Honestly, people these days could never see when somene was helping them out. It didn't matter. Once they found out that what she was doing was for the greater good then they would thank her...unless they were as thick as they pretended to be and they never realized that she was doing Animi a favour. Sigh. Hopefully they had common sense in their small minds.

He looked up at his older brother he wasn't really older than him it was only a few minutes...He knew he was acting a bit girly so he straightened him self out and then awaited her brother's answer.
As she walked off she heard Animi ask his brother that very thought provoking question. If only the idiot would stop asking his brother and go ask the girl! All his problems would be solved as soon as he did. Then they could stop looking at her like that. But...actually after finding out they would probably just hate her more. Ah, the price she had to pay for greatness.

Caute was perfectly right when she said that his sister's sense of justice clouded her common sense. Those guys were huge and she was not; it didn't take a genius to know how it would have turned out and yet she was determind to protect that little boy. He would have left her to let the boys teach her a lesson on thinking before you acted but he couldn't exactlystand by and watch them hurt his sister so unfortunately he had had to step in which he would have mentioned if it weren't for the fact that it would have hurt her pride. Seriously where in her body did she store this pride? There had to be 110% good in her and the last he checked pride was never a good thing.

"That is exactly it." He told Caute. "Sometimes I wish she would think before she acted."

Lus ignored Caute and Avaritia's discussion on her habit of leaping into the unknown, which usually meant fights. Although she did appreciate the healing from Caute.
But she couldn't resist retorting to it. "Don't worry, Av, your little "rule the world" plan will be quite safe even with my input. Or maybe I'll come in with a big red cape and save everyone from your dastardly command." Lus knew all about her brother's quest for so-called world domination, ever since he had made little models of towns and then pretended to rule them as a kid. He'd tried to rule her once too, but she'd quickly put a stop to that.

Instead, she concentrated on Ira's argument about it. "It wasn't exactly fighting each other," she said, frowning slightly. "It was unfair, really unfair." She shook her head, a lock of black-blonde hair falling in front of her face. She didn't bother to brush it away. "I don't know, I can't stand to see injustice, I guess. Would you have let them beat each other up?" She stared evenly at him, not accusing or criticising, just mildly curious.

The piece was for two pianos after all, and Cate'd have to enchant the other piano to play with her otherwise.

Noticing Gula's eyes shift to the Slytherin table, she spotted Lus smiling at her. Caute was nothing if not careful, so she simply gave Lus a friendly smile. They had much to talk about later. Then, her eyes went towards the Gryffindor table against her will. Searching for Temperantia in vain, she sighed before turning back to Gula.

"I've been thinking about that lately as well,"
Caute sighed. "But I think that we're ready, for the most part." And they would learn more after they had taken up their new responsibilities. "It'll be hard, though. Growing up."

But that was enough on topics that would bring their spirits down. It was the beginning of term, and something Cate wanted to treasure. But her mind constantly disobeyed her, reminding her of the time she'd heard Temp singing, and of the way he would help her with Herbology. "Have you seen Temp?" she asked Gula, her voice only barely managing to sound nonchalant.
Gula smiled at Caute. "Yes, I do. Maybe you could show me some time?" she replied, hoping Caute wouldn't refuse. She would love to learn and hear whatever caute had composed. Maybe, if she would have it, they could play together, too.

She felt relieved as she learned that she and her sister weren't the only ones worrying about the future. She contemplated for a moment before responding. "That's exactly what I'm worried about. I think we already are ready, but I'm not ready to let it sink in yet." She smiled, sadly. This world was a hard place to live in.

The next thing that Caute asked didn't particularly take Gula by surprise. She resisted the urge to smirk and, frowning as naturally as possible, she replied, "No, I'm afraid not, Cate. Have you been looking for him?" She allowed a hint of mockery to be detected in her voice. Caute would understand. They were friends, after all.

The thestrals didn't intimidate her anymore, but she clearly remembered seeing them for the first time and not believing her eyes. "Nothing I can't handle."

Glancing around again, Lus' eyes alighted on Animi's just as he looked over at her. This time she kept looking after he looked away. Had he been looking at her more times than was necessary tonight? Yep, yep he had. Lus smiled to herself, then realised she was still looking at the Gryffindor table and turning her attention elsewhere before Avaritia noticed.

Her eyes went to the Ravenclaw table next, and saw Gula looking their way and blushing. Lus looked quickly back at her brother, and noticed him preening. She shook her head in wonder. Gula and Avaritia? Hmm ... she could kind of see that working. And maybe Gula could work on Av's world domination plan too ...
It was official. Lustitia Avril Hodges was playing matchmaker.
"Okay, come on," she announced, taking Avaritia by the arm and hauling him to his feet. "We're going to visit my friends." She led him to the Ravenclaw table and took a seat next to Caute and Gula, pulling her brother down too. "Hey!" she said, smiling at the two girls. "You two have nice holidays?"
Turning her head to glance at Avaritia and Lustitia again, she spotted Lus get up. What on earth is she doing? It looked like she was about to drag her brother over to the Ravenclaw table, which, Gula admitted, was equally exciting and annoying at the same time. She decided she was going to have to keep up with her act of ignoring Avaritia as much as possible. She didn't want to let him find her out. Trying to appear nonchalant as she pushed a strand of hair behind her ear and fixed her robes, she turned to face her fellow Claw. "Hey, Lus. I had a good holiday, thank you," she replied, coolly. "How about you?"

She rolled her eyes, refusing to let yet another ingrate get to her tonight.
"My feet are always on the ground, why would I leave them in the air when everyone else's is so firmly planted--no no that simply wouldn't do and you know that. I think you're just jealous that despite my feet being firmly planted I could still see much higher than you and your lazy butt; my advice to you is that you get up, maybe then you'll see more too." As if that would happen.
Inertia watched Vi flare up and do that thing she always did when she was annoyed. She scowled. And boy, was it a pleasure for him to see her scowl that way. She looked so ridiculous. He tried to suppress his laughter for a while, but then couldn't resist anymore and burst into a fit. "Really, Vi. You're embarrassing yourself. Why would I be jealous of you?" he replied, smirking. Wasn't it obvious? Everyone could see that jealousy had got the better of her. "Why don't you stop worrying about my lazy butt and continue your conversation with your beloved Superbia?"

Being about five seconds older than her, Inertia had grown to love his sister as his younger sibling, and he was concerned about her.

He could remember the night after both he and his sister watched their grandfather die. He had heard her screaming and when he got to her room he saw on standing in the corner of the room. At first he thought he might have been going mad but then it occured to him that she must have been seeing it too or she wouldn't have screamed, making them either both mad or completely normal.

When he caught his sister looking at him he should have taken it as his warning to stop staring before she got some kind of scary plan but his eyes weren't working as fast as his mind. Before he knew it even she was lookig over at the table. Yup, time to avert his gaze.

As he fixed his attention on his own table again he felt her hand latch on to his. He looked up at her in utter bemusment then heard her say that they were going over to her friends. Before he could protest he was hauled to his feet and dragged across the room. Luckily he didn't trip over his own feet but his sister could be so forceful when she had a mind to be. In another second he was pulled down into the empty space next to her and staring at both Gula and Caute, still a little puzzled as to why he was here and why Lus saw the need to drag him all the way over here just to say hi; couldn't he have waved from back at the Slytherin table?

Usually, Gula would be more than happy to talk to people, but this here was a crowd, and especially with Avaritia's presence next to her getting more obvious, she couldn't bring herself to open her mouth and join in the conversation about bullies. Plus, she had nothing to say, really. She could feel herself getting hungrier and she craved food more than anything else now. Apart from Avaritia.

She thought about approaching Ira, as he was just awkwardly sitting there, but as Lus and Caute played the roles of the usual conversation starters, Gula felt a little embarrassed. What was she doing here? It felt so out of place. She stole a quick look at Avaritia and sucked in her breath as he stood there, looking like a Greek God. He was so irresistible. But she knew that he cared nothing for her, and she didn't want to look desperate here. She said nothing.

A couple of times he opened his mouth slightly, thinking of something to say, but he then shut it again deeming it stupid or unnecessary to speak aloud.

Gula, who had been otherwise silent for most part of the conversation, found her voice at Avaritia's last statement. "Do you say that out of genuine concern for your sister? Or is there a hidden reason behind it? Something beneficial for you, I reckon," she said, quietly, directing her words at Avaritia. She knew as well as everyone else that he planned to rule the world... or something similar, at least. But at the same time, she found it hard to talk to him that way. She knew he cared for Lus. In fact, she envied Lus for the very reason that Avaritia cared so much about her.

Gula sighed. She understood what Lustitia meant, anyway. "Now, now. I think we all know that it is impossible for Lus to stand and let someone get bullied under her watch," she said, hoping that this would end the argument. After all, it was one of the virtues that she was born with. She couldn't change herself. Not now, not ever. "And Lus is brave. Braver than some of us, at least."

"Hi, Caute," Said Temp shyly, smiling at her and gave a little wave. "Yeah, I suppose. Just reading, really. I went to Holland for a while." He realised how random that sounded. Seriously? ...Holland? He felt his cheeks turn purple as he tried to think of something else to say. "It was very... sandy."

SANDY? Where did THAT come from?

"...On the beach, I mean." He added quickly. "The beaches in Holland. They're sandy." He facepalmed inwardly. "What about you?"

"Oh my...do you really want to know? I thought you had already noticed--but I guess not." By now it was hard to remove the smile from her face. It was almost like she could feelt he envy radiating from him and the delicious sweetness was tooo good to let go. Oh but wait...she had made a resolve to be good this year, seeing as it was her last year before she was unleashed on the world to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting public. He didn't know it but she was now doing him a favour. If he really wanted to know he would have to go up to Lus himself and find out and when he did she would know how he felt and they could live happily ever after...or whatever it was that people did once they got something they wanted. "Look I don't think I want to talk to you anymore, I want to see my sister, have a nice night." Then she walked off before he could ask anything else.

And now she was rolling her eyes? What exactly had he done? Wasn't she the one who pulled him all the way over here for what reason he still didn't know? His sister did the strangest things sometimes.

Now it was his turn to roll his eyes as his sister showcased the bruises she had incurred over the summer. This was exactly why he had to worry about her.

Vi walked over to her sister's side in time to see Temperance do the same. She could tell the moment her sister began blushing but decided not to call her out on it, instead she would keep that to herself in case Temp was just as oblivious as every other guy in the room; all part of her plan to be a better person while she could be.

"There you are." She said, hoping to distract her so the blush could leave her face before Temp could notice. "If I had known you were already inside I would have dropped by much sooner to say hi to you and your...." She looked from person to person, taking in the people her sister called friends. "your friends." She gave each of them at the table a smile. be nice Vi, be nice.

Amore smiled and said "Thats great you felt at peace, with hope there is always peace. She laughed at this and looked over at her brother as she took out some lip gloss. Ugh couldnt he talk now!

Immediately, Temp felt as if he was missing something. He glanced from one girl to another, trying to comprehend the subtle nods and winks and nudges. Gah, he obviously had sounded really stupid. Why else would Caute have blushed? He clearly wasn't just an embarrassment to himself- he seemed to have that effect on everyone.

He sighed quietly, wishing the floor would eat him.

Once they found out that what she was doing was for the greater good then they would thank her...unless they were as thick as they pretended to be and they never realized that she was doing Animi a favour. Sigh. Hopefully they had common sense in their small minds.

And here again he couldn't agree more. Everyone had to get bullied at some point in their lives and Lus needed to accept that because he was tired of jumping into fights that didn't concern him. He nodded to show his agreeing with her. [B]"Not everyone should be saved either, some of the greatest people in the world are only great because they had something to overcome. If she jumps between every kid and a bully soon the future will be hopeless." Then his plan for world domination would be ruined and he was not going to allow that to happen because of her and her sense of Justice.

Finally, someone who seemed to enjoy her company. Honestly, it was like everyone thought she was some kind of horrible person.

"Why don't you stop worrying about my lazy **** and continue your conversation with your beloved Superbia?"

And then he turned his attention to his baby sister, who had just walked up beside him. "Fi! For goodness' sake, where have you been?" he exclaimed, sounding irritated. He was angry that she hadn't showed up for so long, and she didn't even tell him about her whereabouts. Being about five seconds older than her, Inertia had grown to love his sister as his younger sibling, and he was concerned about her.

As Temperantia strode into the hall and came and sat down next to her friends, Gula smiled at him. They weren't really good friends or anything. She had a tiny feeling that Temperantia wasn't really fond of her. But she knew Caute totally had the hots for him, and she secretly paired them with each other. "Hello, Temp. Someone here has been looking for you," she said, letting her words linger on for effect. She could probably set Caute up with Temp one day, if they didn't realise on their own how perfect they were for each other.

Gula smiled at Vi and murmered a sleepy "hello, Vi" to acknowledge her presence. Now, this Vi was a talker, and Gula wasn't in the mood to gossip. Not then, anyway.

Temp tried to keep up with the rapid conversation, his head turning from one speaker to another helplessly, causing tufts of red hair to spring into his green eyes.

Gula played too! Brilliant. Beaming widely, she nodded. "I'd love for you to play it with me sometime," she said. "It is a duet after all." And you can't really play a duet without someone else. Unless you used Ludo Solus, but that was totally unrelated.

She nodded slowly, understanding. It made perfect sense. Until Gula responded to her question. She'd said that aloud? "I - I... Uh... No? I was just c-curious." Where had that come from?

Why was she stuttering?!

-

Caute smiled knowingly, nodding. She knew that that was only half the reason that Av had said it, but chose not to comment on it. She knew just as well as anyone else that he was on a quest for world domination. "A lot of people get stronger from these experiences too."

Was Lus even listening anyway?

Caute smiled, slightly amused at her sisters reasonings for bullying the seething Gryffindor. Shrugging, she pinned a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Whatever you say," she smiled. "Just try not to go too far, okay?"

Gula's notice of Temperentia was obviously intended to make Caute embarrassed. It was working. Flushing lightly, she jabbed Gula in the side with her elbow. She could tone the mockery down a little, no?

Caute smiled, trying to ignore the burning of her slowly reddening cheeks. Breathing in deeply, she tried to calm herself. Make sure she didn't stutter. "That great," she smiled. "I've always wanted to go there. I heard the beaches have fantasti views."

Her holidays? "I was at home most of the summer, actually," she smiled. "Vi had to drag me away from the piano for most meals." But remembering the reason she'd composed most of those pieces, she sighed inaudibly.

She wanted him to hear a piece she'd written for him. She wanted to show him that classroom on the first floor. She wanted things that didn't quite make sense anymore. Remembering that she was Prudence, she pushed those wants away. Looking into her plate, she inwardly begged for the feast to start soon. Partly because she was blushing so furiously, and partly because she was actually hungry.

But the greater part was because she couldn't wait for it to be over so that she could show Temperentia the abandoned classroom. And play his piece.

Avaritia rolled his eyes at his sister's retort. Was that really all she thought he thought about? Yes he believed that he was entitled to every single living thing that walked the planet and he knew he would have to own it all one day but at present he was legitimately concerned about his sister's safety everytime she chose to jump blindly into a fight that didn't concern her. And then she planned to swoop in and save persons...? Not a chance, he would have them all; he had to.

She would probably never realize that she was one of the few people he actually cared for. "Whatever. He muttered. There was no use arguing with her.

He sighed. Why did his sister drag him over here again? It wasn't like he would have been talking to anyone but her which he could have done while still sitting at the Slytherin table. It was just as he had expected; she was ignoring him basically. He never could understand why she always ignored him. It wasn't like he had done anything to her in particular yet you could swear he was some plagued to be avoided at all cost. Girls were strange and that was all he was prepared to say... He looked over at her and saw the nonchalant look on her face. It was like he wasn't even there...

Vi could feel the all the blood rush to her face. He thought she was embarrassing herself? Was that really what she was doing? All she wanted was everyone's eyes on her, now that wasn't too much to ask was it? She decided she wouldn't take him seriously. He was too lazy to know much of anything anyway and therefore his input meant nothing. "Well I guess that's what I get for caring about the whole lot of you! All of you are so ungrateful, no matter how I try to help you all." She told him. He was clearly just another one of them that would never be able to appreciate her for what she was. He wasn't worth her time and he wasn't worth arguing with. "And what makes you think I would want to speak with him anyway? I don't want him thinking he's anything special."

Was she always this quiet? Avaritia couldn't imagine how anyone could have a nice conversationw tih someone who barely said two words. He continued looking over at her trying to see if he could draw something from her expression that might have explained her a bit more...she had to speak at some point.

Oh sure, so she spoke to Temp and Vi but not to him. He was now convinced. He must have done something to her...but what? He barely had time to focus on females let alone to have actualyl offended one. Well it couldn't have been anything he might have done this year because it had just started but last year...he spent plotting...there was just no opportunity for him to have done anything wrong. Maybe it was just a girl thing...

Great, when she finally decides to speak it's so she can encourage his sister's reckless actions. Seriously? He could have done without anyone condoning it any further for her to go thinking it was perfectly okay to just go around throwing herself into fights. He was suddenly drawn from his thoughts when she began speaking to him. Was that a trick question? Of course I'm being genuine; you may not believe me but I really do care about my sister you know and I don't want her getting hurt." He couldn't believe she had just made him admit that outloud, now his sister would never let him live it down.

Vi nodded towards her and forced on a smile. "Hi there." She said, but after all the interactions she had had she was beginning to feel dejected. The only thing that would fix this would be some quiet time up in the common room where she could freely think through her next move without too many distractions. This year she had to make a difference.

"I'd like to show you something later, after the feast if you're okay with it."

She wanted him to hear a piece she'd written for him. Looking into her plate, she inwardly begged for the feast to start soon. Partly because she was blushing so furiously, and partly because she was actually hungry.

But the greater part was because she couldn't wait for it to be over so that she could show Temperentia the abandoned classroom. And play his piece.

Gula laughed at the way Caute tried to defend herself. It was natural, of course. It was no secret that there was something strange going on between Temperantia and her little friend, but Caute had to hide it... Until she decided to jab her in the ribs. "Ow!" Gula muttered under her breath, rubbing her side with her right hand. Jeez, Cate. I get the point. Go easy on me?

It wasn't like he had done anything to her in particular yet you could swear he was some plagued to be avoided at all cost. Girls were strange and that was all he was prepared to say... He looked over at her and saw the nonchalant look on her face. It was like he wasn't even there...

There it was. Gula had been staring at the floor when Avaritia admitted, in his deep, amazing voice, that it was genuine. That he cared about her. Well, no surprise there. She was his sister. And Gula knew about the bond that twins shared. After all, she loved her sister more than anybody else, even though Haupe couldn't have been more different. Gula hesitated for a moment, not being able to respond. She was afraid of saying the wrong thing. After all, she hardly trusted herself to speak around Avaritia. She raised her head slightly and forced herself to meet his eyes. "I believe you," she replied, quietly, allowing her piercing gaze to linger on for a second more than she wanted it to, before she went back to staring at the floor.

Ungrateful? Now, where did that come from?! "Ungrateful? I don't know about the others, but I don't see how you've been trying to help me out," Inertia replied, waving his hand in the air as if he didn't care what she said. She was being ridiculous, anyway. He looked her in the eye. "Oh, I didn't particularly mean Superbia," he replied. He was actually reconsidering his previous words now. Vi basically wanted every single person at the table to adore her. Whatever made him think Superbia was special? After all, he was used to being followed by girls everywhere he went. Vi seemed to be the only one who didn't care enough. Meehh, not that he cared about her. "Yeah, that's real mature, Vi. Go suck up to your sister."

Avaritia's brows crinkled in confusion as he watched her eyes fall to the floor once more. So now he wasn't worth looking? What was with this girl? He didn't avert his gaze even after she did. She was acting strange--well..stranger than usual seeing as all these girls had a tendency towards the stranger side of life. She didn't seem like she was going to say anything else and well, patience was never his virtue so... "Have I done something to offend you?" He asked, purely out of curiosity as no matter how hard he tried he couldn't think of anything that he might have done. Her answer would have...or should have clarified everything for him.

Her eye twitched and she could feel her fingers tenses. She had to make a concious effort to not ball her hands into fist and just give him an example of what her right hook could do. Didn't he know anything? Were all of them so stupid? Ugh! Then he had the nerve to be mocking her. She turned to him again, this time anger was clear in her voice and her stance. "Of course you wouldn't know because just like everyone else you fail to truly appreciate me for everything I am and everything I have done. You are all very ungrateful, I try to open your eyes and you all get annoyed or whatever it is you get," she really didn't care, "and so what if I want to go off to my sister? Did you ever think that I might just consider her better company than you?" She retorted, her voice filled with indignation.

Superbia sighed. He never wanted his brother to be hurt, but sometimes it was unavoidable. "I honestly don't know. But take a lesson from your big brother. Just go talk to her. But not here, you won't be able to get anything out of that mouth with all the people around. Wait until you can get her alone." Hopefully this would be one of the things his brother would actually listen to him on.

Haupe sighed and nodded. "Well how could they not stay together with such an amazing matchmaker such as you!!" She said beaming.

Haupe tried desperately to push Desi from her mind. It wasn't working in the slightest. She still was planning their future together like a silly school girl. She knew they could never be together. She was a goody two shoes and he went after every female that could walk.

Desi could hear just how rediculous he. was sounding and in reality he was not sure what he wanted. He liked to just play with one girl and move on to the next but Haupe made him feel strange. He kind of liked it but he was so used to things being his way. And now he just tugged at Hauled heart strings and snapped them. He could not bear to look at her right now. He was glad when the conversation turned in another direction, "Hey Amore. So you visited France eh, that sounds pretty cool. I visited Spain myself and the sights there are truly to die for in my opinion.

Animi almost smiled at his brother. He looked over at his brother and sighed. "Your right...But for someone who is all courage I am sure not having courage when it comes to her." He chuckled and said "Your right of course, when are you not right?" He was about to get up and over to Lus when he decided to go somewhere else. Seeing Desi he decided who else to go for girl advice but the expert himself. "Hey Desi, Amore, Haupe." He than glanced another look at Lus and than looked back at them. Now all he needed was to get Desi alone to ask he was so not going to ask in front of the two girls even if Amore was probably the best to ask about girls and their feelings.

Desi wasn't the kind of guy to get into a long term relationship in unless he changed of course. Standing up she asked Haupe, "Haupe do you want to go talk to the other girls?"Giving a glance at the boys before smiling a girly smile.

Gula felt Avaritia's piercing eyes on her, burning into her skin. She could feel him refusing to avert his gaze. Maybe he was angry. Or maybe he was confused. Either way, she couldn't do anything about it. Then he asked something which caught her by surprise. had he done something to offend me?! Gula thought for a while. Did he mean that? Why was he asking? Did he actually care? She didn't take her eyes off the floor. "No, not at all. Why would you say that?" she replied, barely sounding as if she meant it. The truth was, she wanted him. Every part of her body craved Avaritia, and she hated herself for that. Gluttony was a curse, and she was bearing its effects since birth.

Inertia laughed more, greatly intrigued by Vi's behaviour. This was a new side to her personality that he hadn't had the good fortune of witnessing before. "Did you know how deeply I appreciate your comical expressions when you're angry, Vi? They are very entertaining. Do carry on," he said, twisting his lips and lifting one send of his lips into a half-smile. This girl was getting more interesting every moment. "Oh? I don't doubt that. But from what I gather, it looks more as if you're running away from us than going to spend time with her because you prefer her company to ours." There. He was satisfied. He had completely owned her.

Lus hadn't realised how tired she was until she actually rested her head on her arms and fell asleep. She woke up not too long later to chattering voices around her. She stretched her arms out, yawning, still a little sleepy, and glanced around the hall.
Huh. Nothing much had changed.
Although her brother seemed to be speaking to Gula, which was the point of coming to the Ravenclaw table in the first place. Lus smiled to herself, then snuck a quick glance at Animi, masking it with another stretch. He was talking to Desi, Amore and Haupe now.
She scolded herself inwardly. Why should she be interested in what Animi was doing? She shouldn't care, she shouldn't notice him at all.
Should she?
Pushing the thoughts from her mind, Lus stood up, murmuring something about going to Ravenclaw Tower to Avaritia as she walked past him to the door. She slipped through it without being noticed by the teachers, and made her way to the common room, turning over her mess of thoughts and emotions in her mind.

Desi saw Animi approuch and silently sighed. The guy could be so annoying at times always wanting advice on girls. He used to like it but these days things seemed more complicated than they once were. He hoped that maybe Animi for once was coming just as a friend and not one with baggage. He gad just created enough of that on his own. He turned toward Animosity and said, "Hey man what's up? How was you're summer?".

"Well of course I am right." Superbia bragged. He picked up an apple and took a huge chunk out of it. Then he noticed Dumbledore was getting up to give his end of feast speech.

Haupe looked at the boy that had decided to join them. She had seen him before, but not really every interacted with him. She smiled as he approached them though. "Hello Animi." She said sweetly. Then she heard Amore asking to leave the table. She didn't want to leave the table. Especially not to go talk to a bunch of girls that had nothing better to do than spread their vices around.

"No, I think I'll just stay here. Besides, I think Dumbledore is about to say his closing speech." She pulled her hair over to the side again. She really just didn't want to talk to the cattiest girls at Hogwarts. They were some of the main reasons why she was such a loner.

Dumbledore stood up and walked to his elaborate podium. "Welcome students to another year at Hogwarts!" He started enthusiastically. "As some of you may know, we are welcoming a new Defense against the Dark Arts professor this year. Join me in giving him a big Hogwarts welcome, Professor Victor Mason."

He gave his subtle and gentle clap that so easily expressed his everyday personality. "And now children, the feast has concluded. Prefects please keep your first years close and show them the correct way to the dormitories. Let us have another wonderful year at our beloved school." He said, ending with a smile.

With that, as if at the push of a button, every student stood up and started to head for the giant doors.

Gula turned as Dumbledore stood up to make his speech. It was about time, anyway. She had rather enjoyed the lavish feast, and as usual, couldn't get enough of it. Her mouth was still watering and she was still hungry when the Headmaster made the announcement about their new Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher. She sighed. Why did they always have to have a new teacher every time, for that particular subject? Eying the new Professor at his seat on the Staff Table, she made up her mind. She had to do well this time. It was her last chance to prove herself. Casting a sidelong glance at Avaritia, she made her way back to the Ravenclaw Common Room.

Turning his attention away from Vi for the final time, Inertia let Dumbledore's final words sink in, before he gave a final nod to all those at his Table. Then he lazily heaved himself up and trotted back to the Hufflepuff Common Room. He was going to sleep. He was really tired, and sleep always made him feel better.
