Justin sighed looking down at the floor. Well this was awkward. "I'll try getting hold of dad again" he said looking at Anna as she laid down on the sofa.

She sighed and snatched her phone up as it rang. "Hello?...Oh, yeah....if you be so kind to...Thanks..." she sighed, ended the call and tossed her phone back onto the table. She looked up at Justin. "Cass is bringing Cassie back here" she told him.

Justin sighed looking down at his phone in the hopes of getting hold of his dad this time. If he didn't pick up this time, he was probably going to end up throwing the phone against the wall. Then where would he be? His phone was about the only thing keeping him sane at work at the moment and now this news was going to make things even worse than they already were. Assuming he was actually going to be going into work after finding out about Matthew. He'd probably end up taking more time off to make sure Anna was okay and stuff. Even if she did prefer him to go into work than to stay at home purely because of her. But he hated the idea of leaving someone on their own in their time of need. And Anna really did need Justin AND his dad. But as usual, his dad wasn't picking up the phone.

He hit the dial button putting the phone to his ear and waited to see if Alex would pick up. No look so far. 'Hi, you've reached Alex. 'Sorry I can't get to the phone right now but please leave a message after the beep' BEEP was all he got in his ear. He groaned aggetatedly. "Dad, call me back as soon as you get this. It's important" he said into the phone before ending the call and throwing his phone on the table. He glanced over at Anna who was also on the phone to someone. It couldn't be his dad. If it was, he'd have heard something entirely different to what he had heard into his ear. He just wished his dad would pick up or at least call back. He was beginning to get worried.

He looked over at Anna as she tossed her phone onto the table with an eyebrow raised. Who was it and what did th- Oh! It was Cass! And she was bringing Cassie home! Great, that was all they needed. He loved little Cassie dearly but there were times he wished she wasn't around. And this was one of those times. "I guess we're going to have to try and tell her without her asking who he is then..." he mumbled.

Justin glanced over at Anna as she spoke and sat himself down in the chair behind the door. All he wanted right now was to wake up and for this to all be a dream. But he wasn't asleep and it wasn't a dream. It was far from it. This was really happening and strangely enough, he was effected by it. But now he knew why. Even if nobody else knew why exactly he was taking this so badly. But being a telepath had it's advantages. Even if he couldn't always make anything of Matthew's thoughts, there was something in the back of his mind that told him Matthew didn't really want to do half the things he did do. It was just the bad person taking over and stopping the good person from coming out into the sunlight. There were only glimpses of that person but when himself and Anna saw it, it also allowed a path to the hurt Matthe was going through all on his own. More or less.

He listened as Anna spoke taking in ever word. "If dad would actually pick up that phone of his, he'd be able to at least try to keep Cassie from being dragged down by all this" Like Justin would be able to! He already knew what was going on whereas his dad didn't. His dad was completely oblivious and it seemed as though it was going remain that way until he actually decided to come home or pick up that darn phone. All he wanted was for his dad to at least call even if he didn't come home. This was enough to get anybody worried.

The last time he actually felt this way was when he was young and had just lost his mum. And he was still miles off ever getting over that. How could somebody get over the idea of losing a parent they were carried by for nine months and were as close to as possible. But his dad didn't help matters in all fairness. He'd spent years being told to get over his mum's death and to start growing up and taking it like a man. He'd even been told that it was all his fault. Even though he knew it wasn't his fault at all. He was still miles off getting over his mum not being around and he didn't think he was ever really going to get over it. "Do you remember when mum died? How much I wished it wasn't happening?"

Then he brought up his mother. Anna looked away. She remembered a bit too clearly of that day. "How could I forget, Justin?" she asked, closing her eyes. "I really don't want to think about it either..." she admitted softly, her eyes tearing up again.

Cassie had more traits than Anna would like to admit? Like what? Justin was pretty sure she'd got a lot of the Hendricks traits. Maybe she had. And there were some he wished she didn't have. The ones that reminded him so much of the one person he thought about last thing at night. The first person he thought about when he woke up. And he wasn't talking about Ad. He'd have done anything to have his mum here with him right at this instant. He'd always admired the one thing nobody had ever managed to do so far. To try to keep him from as much pain as she could possibly could. But right now, there was no masking it. It was there and it wasn't going away any time soon. As much as he wished it would. Even the memories were going to remain for as long as he was there. As long as he was around the painful memories that surrounded him in England, he'd never manage to get rid of them. But the good memories were the ones that were always going to keep him going. No matter what.

"For someone as young as Cassie she sure has a temper. And we all know where that one comes from..." he responded. Now wasn't the time to be trying to lighten the mood. The mood wasn't going to be lightened in any way. But one thing was for certain, there was way too much of an atmosphere in here for Cassie not to be able to pick up on the fact that something was seriously wrong. As much as he wanted to keep her out of this, somehow, deep down, he knew nobody would be able to. "I guess we'll have to face the music" he added.

And back to the painful subject of his mum. He didn't want to talk about it. He didn't even want to think about it. Just the memory of that day was enough for Justin to want to run a mile. But he couldn't do that. Not now. Not with this happening. Anna needed him here. "I wasn't going to talk about..." he admitted. Why would he? It was too painful to think about let alone talk about. "I just... I never thought a day would come where I felt as low as that" he responded. But that day had come. That day was now!
