Ravenswood Manor

Adrianna Charday’s life has been a rollercoaster, to say the least. When it all becomes too much, she slips away from her home in the middle of the night, as she has done many times before. Only this time, it’s for good. She goes to the beautiful wildlife preserve that a close family friend owns. Ravenswood. The ideal place to go if you need some alone time. But no one knows what’s really going through the raven-haired teenager’s depressed mind. She was slowly losing herself in self-pity, depression.
Her best friend since she was an infant, Cassandriana Brant, visits daily, but can never find the girl she once knew as her friend inside the shell of a person she finds everyday.
But if you do find old Adrianna, she will gladly welcome you into the humongous manor house that she now calls home. There are eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a large den with a fireplace and mantle, two kitchens, and a sunroom throughout the house. Two wolves, Dreamer and Stormbringer stay in the den by the fireplace during the winter, but during the warmer months, they are either running around the preserve, or lying by Adrianna. There is a very large library on the top floor, where Ad spends most of her time. A sign on the gates leading to the preserve says:
Ravenswood Wildlife Preserve
Take only photos and leave only footprints.
Please don’t feed the animals, and stay on the paths.
Garbage in, garbage out policy.
$200 fine for littering.
Open from dawn till dusk.

Tours there were very popular. But now, in the winter months, not even her fellow guides could break the icy barrier that wrapped itself around Adrianna’s heart. She didn’t punch anyone who called her “Addy” anymore.
Adrianna’s life was crumbling down. But that would never stop her friend and her cousins from trying to help.

Justin looked at Ad and nodded. "Of course I would" He'd just be distraught that he wouldn't be able to spend so much time with her.

Ad looked down at the loor. "I don't really wanna leave...but I wanna feel like I've acomplished something" she admitted. She felt pathetic.

Justin smiled slightly at Ad. Who was he to admit he didn't want her to go? "You should go for it" he replied. He had to admit, he really didn't want her to go. They'd never see each other again. Not properly at least.

Ad smiled and stood up again, waling over to Justin. She hugged him as tightly as she could. "Thank you" she said, pressing her lips to his sweetly.

Ad pulled away. She looked into his eyes. She knew the truth. "You don't want me to leave" she whispered. It wasn't a question.

Justin shrugged. It was her life. Who was he to tell her not to follow her dreams? He didn't wanna stand in her way. "I just don't want us to drift apart" he replied. That was the only problem. They WOULD drift apart. They already were with or without Ad following her dream. It just wasn't obvious they were drifting apart. But they were like a drug to each other. He bit his lip and sighed. If Ad decided she wasn't gonna do it he would have flipped and there would be no going back. "Its a once in a lifetime opportunity. Don't let me stand in your way. Do it" he told her.

Ad bit her lip and hr eyes teared up when a fact hit her. They just weren't the same. She looked up as the tears started to fall. "I won't see you again. Not properly" she said softly. Then she cracked. Her shoulders shook as she started to really cry. "What's happened to us, Justin? Why are we like this? Normally you would have tried to argue or something. Now you're letting me slip through your fingers" she sobbed. She wanted to do this. Flollow her dreams. But being without Justin was like being without air.

Justin sighed and tilted his head back. He didn't have the answers to Ad's questions nor did he want them. He just wanted this conversation to end. He didn't like it. Things had changed since they got away from the preserve and he had no idea how they'd changed or even why. "I don't have the answers you're looking for" he replied. He really didn't and that was all he had to say. He lent his forhead against the door frame, his body still facing Ad. He wasn't having the best of days, was he? The thoughts from downstairs were a contributing factor. That and his heart had been shattered a long time ago without anyone doing anything. His entire life was turning on its head and he had no idea how to stop it from happening. It was like he was losing control of what to do with his life. Like the only thing he could actually do was sit and watch everything change around him. The only part of his life that seemed to be staying the same was the way he felt about it. The same way he'd always felt. Like it was a waste of time.

Ad couldn't take it anymore. She collapsed face-down on the bed and truly broke down for the first time in nearly two years. She couldn't do it. She couldn't leave Justin. She cried into the pillow. Cried for everything they both had lost. Including their relationship. It was deteriorating. And fast. it was on thin ice, and had been since she and Maria had left the preserve.

Justin sighed and walked away. Everything he and Ad had was gone. He walked downstairs and laid on his back on the sofa not caring if anyone walked in on him or not. He wasn't in the mood for talking but he was sure at least one of them was going to ask him what was wrong. And it was obvious something was wrong. He just didn't know how to handle anything anymore. Ad finally looked up and saw Justin was gone. Even as just a friend, he would have comforted her, tell her it was alright. But it wasn't. He wasn't really anything to her anymore. And vice versa. Justin stared at the ceiling not knowing what to do. He just hoped that one day he'd look back on this and it would all just be a bad dream. No chance of that. It was real and everything was gone. Ad coughed and choked on tears as she sat up. She reached over and picked up the picture of her and Justin. The one he had taken at Court's that one day. Her tears dripped onto the glass. Onto Justin's face. Sometimes she wished he was the one who could feel emotions. So he could feel the sadness and regret she felt right then.

Callum walked into the living room and looked at Justin. Oooookay. This was different. His brother was staring into space and wasn't in a very good mood. Okay maybe not so different but he was usually upstairs talking about this stuff with Ad. "Tell me" he demanded.

Ren heard what Callum said and raised an eyebrow. She walked into the living room. "Cal, I don't care if you think I'm wrong but I personally believe that what Justin and Ad have, er, had....it's not something that can be given up on. I bet if you go up and ask Ad who means the most to her, she wouldn't even say her father. It would be Justin. She'd never give up on someone she's truly loved since she was nine years old!" she argued. She was right. Because she had asked before.
