In a continuation of Lupin Cottage Maxwell and Taylor return for Christmas break at Hogwarts and Jack's long lost mother comes looking for him only to find she's not quite welcome.

Tay glanced at Jack, "I need some advice, Dad." She buried her face in Jack's chest while hugging him.
Elizabeth nodded, "Of course, Max." She smiled, "Whenever you wish, I will drop whatever I am doing and sit down and talk with you."

Jack held his daughter, cradling the back of her head. "Okay, why don't you and I go for a walk on the beach and you can tell me all about it.." He said smiling at her.

Maxwell nodded. "That sounds great...but what about Lucas and Alice? Where are they?.." He asked "We could head back to them first if you want.." He said wanting to see them a little.

Tay looked up at him and nodded, "Okay, Papa." She sighed and leaned into him more. Taylor held him close, just wanting to be comforted for a bit.
Elizabeth nodded, "Okay, Lucas and Alice? They are at the guesthouse with your grandma." She smiled, "We can go and see them if you wish."

Jack kissed the top of Taylor's head. "Whatever it is don't let it bother you, not now anyway...Let's talk about it and then focus on having some fun..."

Maxwell nodded. "I'd like to see them but we can talk first...Grandma doesn't need to be concerned with it..." He was also a little embarrassed.

Tay looked up at Jack, "Okay..." She sighed, "How do you get over someone?" Taylor looked away, feeling stupid.
Elizabeth smiled, "Okay, shall we go inside and have some milk and cookies or shall we do something by the beach?"

Jack sighed, tough question. "That is something that's different for everyone....for me when it came to Max's mother i had to leave...run away for a bit..you know? The only thing i could say is keep yourself busy, throw yourself so into things that you don't have time to think of that person." He said leading her down the beach.

Maxwell watched as Jack and Taylor walked toward the ocean. "Well, the beach looks occupied so let's head up to the houses....you can show me yours and dad's.."

Taylor nodded as she walked with Jack, "Okay... that makes sense... I will try that." Tay smiled up at him, "Thanks, Dad." There was something else bothering her as well though.
Elizabeth nodded at Maxwell and lead him to Jack and her house. "What do you need to talk about, Max?" She gave him a concerned look.

Jack smiled. "Okay, also it helps to do something destructive every now and then...It helps let off anger." He said and noted the still troubled look on her face. "What else is on your mind, Tay?" He asked

Maxwell took a seat and then a deep breath. "Well...Remember Elliot? The girl i liked? The ravenclaw? She and i have been seeing each other for a little while...I had this whole date set up, it was a picnic on the grounds and i picked her up at her common room and walked her all the way back...you would have been proud...anyway.." He said vomiting out his words far too quickly, he took a deep breath and continued. "Well we've been seeing each other for a little while now...and my feelings for her they're getting stronger and maybe that kinda scares me..."

Tay nodded, "That sounds fun." She sighed and looked at him, "Is it really that obvious?" Taylor grimaced, "Damon is always a jerk to me." Tay pouted.
She nodded at his questions and smiled at what he said. Elizabeth chuckled at him speaking quickly. "First off congrats, Max, second off I am VERY proud of you, third off slow down, please, I aint as fast of a listen as I used to and last, it is normal for you to be scared about it. It is change." She stroked his hair and smiled at him, "It is part of growing up, Max."

Jack nodded a little when she asked if it was obvious and frowned at what she said. "Then forget about him, you don't need someone in your life who doesn't treat you right..You need people who are gonna bring you up and not down."

Maxwell took a deep breath and slowed down. "Sorry....Thanks.." He said both for her congrats and her being proud of him. "It's just...I'm not afraid of the change or even really my feelings...I'm afraid of getting hurt...You see, she's not exactly the nicest girl at Hogwarts but she's sweet to me and i'm kinda crazy about her...but i'm afraid of getting hurt again." He said with a shrug.

Tay sighed and nodded, "Okay, Papa." She smiled at him, "Thank you." Taylor hugged him and looked up at him.
Elizabeth nodded and stroked his hair a little. "It is normal and okay to feel afraid of getting hurt... trust me... I felt the same way with your dad." She kissed his forehead, "But there comes a moment when you do what feels right and anything else doesnt matter."

Jack nodded. "Anytime, dear." He said and walked along the ocean. "Sorry about the muggle travel, it's temporary...till things are..safer, i don't know if you've heard but your grandfather is back.."

Maxwell nodded. "I think i know what you mean...i mean sometimes things just feel....right...with Ell but at the same time i'm young and it's a scary thought but...I don't know...I'm a mess, mom...I can't eat or sleep and all i seem to do is wait for her to text me..." He said checking is phone again for the third time since they'd started talking, nothing.

Tay's eyes widen, "He what?" She whimpered at the thoughts and memories. "No..." Taylor looked at him, "I thought he was a turtle!"
Elizabeth rubbed his back, "Dont worry about her for now, Max." She kissed his head, "Enjoy your weekend." She slipped his phone out of his hand, "Go out and enjoy the island." She smiled at him.

Jack put a hand on her shoulder. "But you're safe here from anything...i've made sure of it...okay?" He asked.

"But...I...what if she tries to get a hold of me?..." He missed her, did Elizabeth understand that? He was going crazy. Every weekend was his free time with Elliot so not being with her was driving him crazy. "Okay....Maybe i'll see what my house is like and see if Tay wants to go exploring...you'll let me know if she says something right?" He asked.

Elizabeth gave him a look, "Max, you can do without a cellphone for an hour, cant you? Or do you not think you can do it?" She raised an eyebrow and laid the cellphone on the table so he can take it or leave it.

Jack smiled. "Why don't you go see your house, it's just up the beach there...i'm sure your brother is itching to see that jungle too." He said trying to help her stay busy.

Maxwell looked at the phone, maybe if he explained he wouldn't seem so strange.. "Well, Mom i've been actually trying in classes and stuff so we're both really busy and the weekend is really our only time together so i kinda miss her, that's all...but I'm gonna see if Tay wants to explore a little...Just let me know please.." He said leaving the phone where it was.

Maxwell gave Elizabeth a huge hug. He missed her. "Thanks for listening mom...you're the best.." He said to show her he wasn't upset with her and went to find his house, next door to Taylor's.

Elizabeth smiled and hugged him back. "Anytime, Max..." She sighed as he left. She glanced at the door, hoping Jack is done with Taylor.

Maxwell Walked down to the houses the more modern one of the group being his. He decided not to go in yet but to go see Taylor..He walked next door and knocked.

Elizabeth glanced up, "Yeah, he is afraid of being hurt... he is head over heels..." She sighed, "Kept checking his phone while we talked... I aint one to parent another one's child but I cant stand when they do that." She rubbed her forehead, "It is like they are more interested about what the phone got than talking to you even if they were the ones who came to you in the first place." She looked at Jack, "Sorry..."
Taylor opened the door, "Hey, Max." She smiled and hugged him.

Jack sat next to her and sighed. "Sorry dear...He's young...you have to remember being like that?" He said knowing he was. "In any case, he's as much your son as he is yours so don't worry about it...Besides i know if it was you and i, i would have been the same way." He said with a smile and a kiss to make her feel better.

Maxwell shrugged. "I haven't seen it yet...You wanna come with me when you're done checking yours out?" He asked.

Elizabeth laughed and smiled, "I agree... I am glad that he is happy right now." She looked at him, "How is Tay doing?"
Tay nodded, "Yeah, sure." She smiled, "Want to check it out with me?" Taylor held her hand out.
