Robert looked Isabella and smiled
that's really sweet of you,Isabella he said.He was glad he had someone to talk to when others were grouping off and trying to work their own way out of this situation.
Robert sat there quietly not thinking much.He turned to Isabella and asked
so,what's next? he asked.He was completely unable to think on what they should do next.
wait for the authorities i guess? he answered his own question but he didnt get what they would be doing as they wait for the authorities to turn up.

Noah could tell that if she had waited for an answer she probably would have not been welcomed. Then it was a good thing that she had not waited for him to answer to her knock. She held back the urge to roll her eyes at Ian. Somehow she was not surprised. "You are acting completely bizarre and strange and don't even try to deny it" She said the last part faster so that he didn't even have time to try. Softening up slightly, but not too much she asked him "Whats going on Ian"

Isabella returned Robert's smile as he said it was sweet of her; that just made her feel very worthwhile and important. At his two questions, she nodded slightly. I suppose so.... I can't think of anything else to do. She sighed and shook her head slightly.

Ian frowned. You're being rather rude, you know, he said, sitting up as his eyes scanned her. I don't handle drama too well, Noah. Plus, I didn't want to break up yours and Carter's cozy gathering, he added with a gentleman-like nod of his head in her direction.

Noah raised one eyebrown at Ian's first comment. "Well I'm not the only one being rude around here" She told him. "And I'm sorry that I am being rude. I wasn't trying to be" It was probably an oxymoron, the two comments that she made but oh well. At what Ian said next though Noah felt like she had just fallen to the ground off a broomstick at the top of the quidditch field. "Is that what this is about? Carter?" She asked, her voice much quieter than it had been before.

Ian, never really confused didn't mind acting like it, so he chose not to comment on saying she wasn't the only rude one and then apologizing. At Noah's question, though, he sighed and rolled his eyes. Whatever 'this' is, it's not about Carter, he said firmly. However, I can tell when something isn't my business, he added with a small smile.

It was clear that Ian was going to stubborn and not admit that anything was wrong or weird or whatever. She decided to back off a little but it didn't mean that she would give up. That wasn't who Noah was. She listened to him say it wasn't his business and couldn't help but feel that the conversation she had been dreading having with the two of them was coming soon. He was right. It wasn't his business, but at the same time she couldn't help but feel that it was. Why wouldn't he just come out and say what was on his mind. "You never will give me a straight answer will you?" She asked. There was a slight tone of defeatedness in her voice, but only a hint.

Ian's head tilted ever-so-slightly to the side at her words, but his own were said happily. On the contrary, I've given you plenty of straight answers - you can't call them worthless just because they weren't the ones you wanted to hear. He righted his head and leaned back from his sitting position against the dark cherry wood headboard of his bed and continued to watch her.

It was no mystery that Ian confused Noah immensly. She couldn't figure him out and had a feeling that she never would. Maybe that was why she liked being around him. Then again it was also quite frustrating. "Adn what was it that I wanted to hear?" She asked him. She didn't believe that she had been biased when listening to him speak to her.

Ian sighed and motioned wearily to the bed for her to sit down. I'm not trying to cause a problem, Noah. But I feel like you at least came in having some idea of what you thought was going through my mind, he said, watching her carefully.

nor can i said Robert and sat there silently at his place behind the counter.
After what seemed like quite sometime of silence a comfortable one and not like the one in the living room Robert spoke up
i guess we should be there with the others and see if they need our help
we can see if anyone needs our help in anyway he said and thought about the rest who were sitting all quietly because he could hardly listen a soul talk in the living room.

Noah stepped forward and sat on the bed next to Ian. As she heard what he said she couldn't help but to sigh. He was right she had an idea of what was going through his head. She had known what would be going through his head. Why did things have to be so complicated. "I just..." She started to say but then paused. "Honestly I just hate causing these underlying problems between the two of you" She told him.

Carter could see the fear in Noah's eyes and in the frame of her face- and he couldn't blame her. He would have been afraid- but there was more to consider than just the danger they were now in. There was a mystery to be solved, and other innocents to be considered.

He could see that Noah didn't suspect him, and Carter was relieved. If he had to deal with her suspicions, he might have gone insane. Especially since she was so observant- she would be an asset in trying to figure this thing out.

Feeling her squeeze his hands brought Carter out of his reverie. "The spell will bring me to your side no matter where you or I are in this house... but it can only do it once," he told her with a small smile. As she hugged him, Carter wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head. "Good luck- I'm going to see how everyone else is doing," he said with a nod to her as she left. He was suddenly very nervous- but he had faith in her ability to protect herself, and the spell he had cast.

Chris headed toward the kitchen and arrived just in time to hear Robert's question to Isabella. "I don't think they'll be coming," Carter said with a sad smile to the both of them. "I tried calling them earlier and they said they were on their way... but they have yet to show up. And now it seems the phone lines are down," he said, settling onto one of the counters next to his friends. "How are you both holding up?" he asked, looking at the both of them. He tried to suppress his suspicions, but he couldn't help it- there was a killed loose in the house.

Robert had just told Isabella about joining Carter and the rest and was getting up when he saw Carter himself come into the kitchen.
Robert looked at Carter confused
authorities not coming? he thought.
havent shown up? phone lines down? he thought
what in the name of Merlin's beard is going on! he thought and looked at Isabella and then back at Carter.He sat down slowly on his seat again.
He looked at Carter and said
holding up fine i guess and looked at Isabella.He didnt know how she was doing.he just knew her saying she was fine while the rest of the time it was he who talked about how he felt.He looked at Carter and asked
how are the others? tilting his head towards the kitchen door leading to the room where the rest of them were there.

Carter sighed as he lifted himself on to the counter next to where Isabella and Robert were sitting. He didn't know Isabella as well as Robert- but they were both from Hogwarts- could they have committed this atrocity? He didn't think so... but Voldemort had been from Hogwarts- so anything was possible.

Seeing Robert's look, Carter nodded in agreement. He had no idea what was going on either- but he intended to find out. "Noah and I are getting through it... but I think a few of the others aren't holding up so well," he said, glancing towards the kitchen door. "However, Noah and I have been talking... we don't think this murder was an accident," he told the two fellow Hogwarts students.

Robert saw Carter move and sit up on the counter.He listened to what Carter had to say and nodded.He looked up as Carter paused a bit between his sentence.He nodded in agreement to what Carter said and he spoke up
but the question is who?
who could and would do this to Mrs.Pinkler? he asked Carter and Isabella looking at both of them and then outside the kitchen door.
Robert couldnt imagine someone from the students doing this to Mrs.Pinkler,no.
why would anyone do anything so drastic with her? he thought.But then somewhere in the back of his mind he realised that it wasnt the time to think with heart but with head and his head said there is a possibility that the person could be in the same room with them and he had to know who it was and what was his/her motive for all this mess.

Ian frowned and shook his head as she spoke. You're not causing anything - Carter and I are good friends, and trust me when I say that a girl we're both interested in isn't going to change that, he said, a bit more bluntly than he meant, but it was true! Ugh. Even someone Ian was drawn to unknowingly like he was to Noah - or so he said.... then again, what did it matter to him anyway?

Isabella had just opened her mouth to answer Robert when Carter walked in. Crap. She listened to what he said and then shook her head. What do you mean 'the phone lines are down'?? Phone lines didn't just go down, but then Carter said he and Noah didn't think it wasn't an accident. Smart groups of kids. I never thought it was, she said, just as she had to Robert earlier in the morning. It had been obvious to her that it was one of them.

Noah couldn't help but feel slighly relieved when Ian said that she wasn't causing anything. "Good" was all that she said. She really wasn't trying to cause anything. At times she completely forgot the she possible could have been. She wasn't going to lie. She was attracted to both of them, even though they were completely different. So did this mean that everything was okay? Was Ian okay or was he still weird even though he wasn't admitting to it. She really didn't know so instead just stayed quiet.

Ian smiled at her statement and leaned his head back once more against the headboard behind him, shutting his green eyes lightly. Did Carter send you up here? he asked after a few moments of unawkward silence between them. That was the good thing - they could stay quiet and not feel odd about it.... or at least that was how it was from his point of view.

Noah was actually enjoying the quiet. It was nice to be up here with Ian and not have to be looking around at all of the sad people making her only feel worse herself. But then she heard him say something. Noah turned to look at him but he was sitting there with his eyes closed. Noah was able to take in that he was an extremely good looking guy. But then again she had known that. "I came up here because I wanted to" She told him.

When Ian heard her response, he peeked at her through the slight opening of one of his eyes and then chuckled and opened the other eye as well, sitting back up and leaning slightly in her direction. Did you now? Well, that's quite something, now isn't it? he asked with a slight smile.

Noah let herself smile as she heard what Ian said. "Oh you don't believe that I would come up here without being told to" She said to him somewhat jokingly. The mood of the room had lighten slightly, or at least it felt like it to her. "Well Ian, I am here, like I said, because I want to be here" She told him with a defiant nod of her head and then a smile after that.

Ian tilted his head to the side slightly, gaining a few centimeters nearly without notice as he did so. And why is it that you're choosing to be up here with the dark, brooding one when you have such a perfect gentleman downstairs awaiting your return? he asked, mostly out of curiosity.

Was it just Noah or was Ian closer than he had been earlier. She hadn't noticed him move, but she could swear that he was closer now. She met his eyes for a moment thinking up an answer to his question. How did she answer this. How did she answer a question like this when she was attracted to both of them. She decided to adopt the method of answering a quesiton with a question. "Why would you choose to come up here and leave me with the perfect gentleman?"

Ahhhh, mental sigh..... She had answered him with a question of her own - it seemed like a very Ian kind of thing to do in his opinion, but he really did sigh with a small smile and shook his once back and forth before his eyes met hers once more. Then, he became his impulsive self; he leaned forward and kissed her once deeply-but briefly. I couldn't very well have done that if you were down there with Carter, now could I? he asked in a whisper. In all honesty, if being himself drove Noah away, so be it.

Noah was very curious as to what he would say in reply to her. When in all reality he said nothing at all. She had not been expecting Ian to kiss her. It was brief but strong. She let herself return the kiss. As he pulled back she noticed the were still extremely close. She didn't move. "No I don't supose that you could have" She told him, her voice was just as quiet as his. She didn't even want to think of what effect this kiss would have later, right now she pushed those thoughts from her mind.
