The Sun reports that inexplicably, recently lots of people having been placing bets on Harry's ex-girlfriend, Cho Chang, dying in the next novel, Half-Blood Prince. Quote:
And last night internet firm Blue Square reported a flood of bets on love interest Cho Chang — played on screen by Katie Leung — dying in Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince.
Spokesman Ed Pownall said: “It’s very odd. Even the betting pattern has been a bit mysterious.
“A lot of people have opened accounts in the middle of the night and placed their first-ever bets on Cho Chang being killed off.
“This suggests they at least think they know something.
“The maximum punt for this kind of bet is £100 and we’ve had a few of them as well as several of £50.
“This has forced us to cut the odds on Cho by more than half from 8-1 to 3-1.”

I don't think she's 'ewww' but intriguing and mysterious. I think Harry will think so too in HBP.

I read somewhere on Muggle net that Ron seems to have a knack of predicting the future. If he jokingly says something will happen, in the next few chapters along it usually does, so maybe it will be Ron. It would be really cruel of JK to do that to Harry though. I don't know about Cho, I don't think she will even feature in the next book. My husband insists that it will be Percy who dies.

although i do feel these bets are mean i kinda have to agree that i think she might be killed off. she's not exactly a main character so i dont think that she's "the" character that will die next, but i dont feel she has any more purpose in the books since harry doesnt like her anymore .. Quote:

Hey! i think that cho might die becuase even though harry has no feelings for her he still cared for her. she wouldnt kill Ron or Gin. they are too important! Lupin could be possibel tho. It would suck though becuase he is Harry's father figure in a sense. i dunno lol... i hope that its no one too important. O i luv Luna! she is one of my favourite charactors and she wont die!

The series would be pointless and quite frankly unrealistic (as this is a war) if no-one 'important' died. Tragedy is one of the great aspects about Potter, it's why we all feel for him. War means more than one death - that's realism.

Reason? : Cedrik's wand is a Unicorn's Tail right? or was it Hair? oh whatever it is, its the same core as Rons...they say Cedricks wand is a wand that represents death, and since Cedrick died..maybe...Ron might too... The wand with the unicorns hair was charlie's the one that they passed to Ron in his first yearbut when the flñying car crashed against the womping willow, his wand broke and he got a new one on summer before the third year
Back to the topic, I do hope that it'll be Cho the one who dies, it won't be a significant lost, I actually CRIED when Sirius died I know I won't cry over Cho's death, now if Ron dies..................... I don't know what'll happen to me, Ron is my favourtie male character I loooooooooooooooooove Ron, the same goes for Hermione she's the best girl in the books I absolutly love Hermione! she rox, I wouldn't mind if Hagrid dies either I've never ever stand him, I almost killed myself while reading chapter 23 of the OoTP it was like an agony......... as long as neither Ron or Hermione get killed I don't mind if Voldy eats Harry, besides if JK kills Hermione it'd be like giving Harry a slow dearth cause if it wasn't for her, neither Harry or Ron would have survived their first year
