But, Sirius was of paramount importance to Harry and she killed him off. The series would be pointless and quite frankly unrealistic (as this is a war) if no-one 'important' died. Tragedy is one of the great aspects about Potter, it's why we all feel for him. War means more than one death - that's realism.
