I just registered but, I can't post in the newbie forum or news, yet!!!

Don't panic! Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the site to confirm your registration. Just wait a few minutes and try again. If it's been over an hour and you still can't post, please feel free to contact us and let us know, very specifically and with a lot of detail, exactly what your problem is. (That means, if you're getting an error message, tell us what it says; if your browser does something weird, let us know what it's doing; etc).

If you delete my posts, does that mean my posts count goes down?

Yes and no. Yes, if we find your post to be against SnitchSeeker rules, we will delete it and your posts count will go down. No, if we are just cleaning up forums and deleting old threads (we temporarily turn a post hack on so you all can keep your posts).

I had 1000 posts yesterday and now I only have 500. WTF?

As much as we try to save posts there are times when we need to clean the forums to make things run faster and better - this involves deleting posts and/or threads which are either inappropriate or over the 4000 post-limit. We have certain tech patches to prevent the count from being largely reduced but you may still (sadly) lose a small number of posts ocassionally.

I have 10 posts, why aren't I member yet?

It can take the site up to an hour to recognize your 10 posts. Please be patient and your usergroup will change. Once the board makes this change, you will know by your username becoming light blue and by also having a new usertitle beneath your username that says “Member” on it.

My user name doesn't work!

Please give the site up to 30 minutes to recognize your new account; sometimes it may take a while to process if the server is busy. If you continue to have trouble, send us an email at snitchseeker.com@gmail.com and let us help you with it. As with any technical problems, please tell us EXACTLY what's happening; the more info you give, the better we'll be able to help you.

Why can't I use the PM system?

Most likely you are a member of the "Newbie" usergroup. You need to have ten posts AND be a member of the "Members" usergroup before you can use Private Messaging. You know you're a member when your name turns light blue.

I haven't received my account activation code!

If you have not gotten an activation code via email, check that your email's spam filter has no't filtered out the message from Snitchseeker.com. (Add us to your address book to prevent missing important email like this.) If you still haven't found that validation email, let us know by emailing snitchseeker.com@gmail.com (from the address you made your account with) and we'll resend it or manually activate your account for you.

Can I be a moderator/admin? How do I become one?

Thanks but we have all the mods and admins we need for right now. When we have the need for more site staff, we contact whomever we see exhibiting excellent mod-worthy behavior. There is no "signing up" or "interviews" for it - we simply choose who we think is able.
