Hi, My name is Sophie, or Soph if you like. This is my first ever Fan Fic and I'm so nervous to see what you think. I don't own anything in the Harry Potter world but a HUGE thanks to JK Rowling who does and does such a good job at brining the characters to life through all her fab Harry Potter books.

So here's whats happening. Sirius has just died and Harry is returning to the burrow before school starts back. Only difference is that I've made Harry and Ginny go out with each other in the last few weeks of school like just after Sirius death and that Dumbeldore has already told Harry of his task he will have set for him when he returns to Hogwarts, oh yeah, and Bill and Fleure's wedding is THIS summer instead of it being the following year. So this story follows Harry and Ginny over the next few years at Hogwarts and we follow the story as they rekindle their relationship so this is a Harry/Ginny Fan Fic

So here goes...

Chapter 1

It was all set. Harry was to arrive at the burrow tonight.

I don't know how I feel about this. On one hand, it will be safe for him here untill we all leave to go back to Hogwarts where he will complete Dumbeldore's task but on the other it's difficult for me to be around him. After we broke up my whole world came crashing down. My life is black hole without him and as much as I want to see him, it will leave me heartbroken if something bad happens at this dangerous time in the wizarding community.
You see, after the fight at the mnistry, Dumbeldore told Harry that there was only one way to destroy Voldemort, that is destroying the Horouxes he has made. So Harry this year at Hogwarts is to attempt to defeat the Voldemort-again. So that is why Harry and I are no longer, because of Voldemort.
I remember how sick I felt when he left me, apparently in order to "protect" me. I don't need protecting! I need him. He is the only thing that could hurt me and he did. Hermionie tells me it out of love, yeah well, love sucks in my opinion. I'm sure he didn't intentionly mean to hurt me, but he did. It only makes it worse when he talks to me just like when we were friends. I can't stand the politness of the tone of his voice. I would just gaze into those emerald eyes whie listening to his tenor voice. It inflicted pain upon me but I felt close to him, because I knew he was right there with me. Mum was so worried at first. She told me it was for the best "Things like this happen for a reason, Dear," she would say "Your lucky Harry cares so much about you." I would turn away and cringe at the sound of his name. We haven't seen each other in so long, well about two weeks but thats a long time for us to be apart.

Harry arrived just after 7pm accompanied by order member Kingsley Shacklebolt. Mum pulled him into a tight hug saying how wonderful it was to see him. He shook my dads hand then looked at me. I looked back with an expresionless face showing no sign of emotion. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. I looked down at the floor and I felt myself being pulled toward him in a weak but friendly hug. I inhaled deeply. I was home. Back in Harry's arms. The famous Harry smell incircled me but he let go too soon. Everyone watched carefully to see how I would react. I looked up avoiding everyones stairy eyes, shrugged, smiled weakly then continued to the sitting room.

"Dinner!" Mum shouted. I put my book down and made my way to the dinner table. Harry went for the same seat as me. I tryed to show no sign of emotion but failed when I breathed out heavily and shook my head. Why me? Why does he have to make this unbearably painful than it already is? I turned to go to the furthest away seat. "Gin," he pulled out the chair and gestured with his hand for me to sit. It saddend me when he called me Gin. Only called me that. "Thank you." I replied, in an emotionless tone and obediently I sat down and ate my dinner in silence.

Chapter 2

Later that Night...

Kingsley left the Burrow as soon as Hary was settled in. Hermionie had arrived shortly after dinner. Her arrival seemed to lighten up a rather moody Ron. I don't understand why Harry and Hermionie put up with his sulky attitude
I was in the spare room with Hermionie. She was unpacking a few nessesities for her short visit. "So," she said "...How've you been, Ginny? You didn't put much in the letters"
"I won't lie to you, Hermionie, I've been better," I said in a flat tone and I shrugged as I stared up at the celling trying to hold back tears. I knew where the conversation was going.
"Oh Ginny," Hermionie stopped what she was doing and came over and sat down beside me. She wrapped her long boney arms around my shoulders and I broke into tears. "It's so hard to face him," I sobbed "I can't look at him and when I do, I feel like I've been punched in the stomach. It hurts to be in the same room as him. He said it's for the best. How is this better than when we were together. I don't know about him, but this is know good for me Hermionie. If only he knew. I mean,I..I..I"
"Ginny," she smoothed down my hair "you have no idea how much this hurts Harry. Your his everything. Your all he talks about, when Rons not there obviously, but this is why he's doing this, for you. He has to defeat Voldemort and this is the only way he can. It will be tough for both of you, but once this is over you both can get on with your lives, without Voldemorts annual interuptions. Harry loves you Ginny. Trust me."

Hermionie and I contiued talking and laughing. I was winding her up about how Ron liked her and we both burst out laughing.We were interupted with a knock on my room door. We both coposed ourselves before I opened it.
It was Ron. We both started laughing again. He looked at us with a puzzled expression. "Um... Mum sent me up. She's made tea and said you've to come down for some before bed." He bounded back down the staris
"Put on a brave face for Harry." Hermionie said with a smile. I nodded in agreement before pulling a jumper on over my pyjama top and slipping on my slippers before heading downstairs.

Chapter 3- Part 1

I woke with the sun glaring through the blinds. I rolled over onto my side. My alarm clock blinked 7:30am. I gazed around my bedroom. "Good morning Ginny." Hermionie said. "Morning" I replied only half awake . I sat up and looked round the room "Are you comming down to help?" Hermionie was already up and dressed. She sat at my dressing table brushing her hair.
"With..." I asked dazed and confused
"It's Harry's birthday and your mums having a special birthday brunch. Plus there's last minuet plans for Bill and Fleur's Wedding. Fleur's Parents and sister arrive tomorrow." Yuck. Can't say I think much of Gabrielle. She should know that Harry will never be her's and that he only has eye's for me.
"Oh yeah. Do me a favour. There's a gift bag in my cupboard. It's for Harry. Can you take it down to the kitchen with you. I'll be down in five" Hermionie left the room and I climbed out of bed, stretched and put on a navey top, tights and navey and white skirt. I walked out of my room and across the hall to the bathroom. I tied my hair back and washed my face with hot water. Then I brushed my teeth and rinsed with cool minty mouthwash. I now felt quite awake. I joined my mum, dad and Hermionie in the kitchen. Mum, once again had outdone herself. She must have made enough to feed fifty, but then again we've got Ron to feed!
Harry came sleepily down stairs followed by Ron. "Happy Birthday Harry!" Hermionie handed him a small bag. "It's for when we leave," she told him as he unwraped it. "I find that writing all my thought and feelings down in a diary helps plus that is possible the most interesting book I've ever read"
"Thank you Hermionie. I love it" The diary was beautiful. It had a leather cover and the book was about magical creatures. It looked very interesting. I'm sure Harry will enjoy reading it.
"Happy Birthday Mate." Ron said while handing him a rather small peculiar box. It was well wrapped in shiny red paper with a golden bow, which made me think who wrapped it because it obviously wasn't Ron. Harry opened it carefully. "I couldn't think what to get you so it's the broom polish PLUS and I O U." but that was just an act. I knew fine well what Ron had got Harry. A book called 'Fail Safe Ways to Charm Witches.' and I only knew that because I was with himwhen he bought it. He was obviously embarrased about what Mum and Hermionie would think of him getting him a gift like that.
"Thanks Ron. You shouldn't have" Harry said laughing.
"No bother ,Mate" I just glared at Ron and Herionie rolled her eyes. I was about to had Harry his birthday gift when Ron but in and said "Aw, Mum what's for breakfast? I'm famished!"
"Yeah, cauz you look starved, Ron!" I glared at him. He gets in the way of everything!
"Geez, Ginny. What's with the attitude? What's the problem?"
"Your face, Ron. You git!" I stormed out the door and into the garden. This was too much. He is so insensitive sometimes!
"Ronald!" Hermioie tutted
"What did I do. It's not my fault she's in a bloody bad mood! Time of the month or what!" I heard him mutter.
"RONALD!" I heard her scream "Ginny's right. You are an insensitive git!"

Hey Sophie I think we should all take after you and instead of Helping to Kill Rob we should have something about Lavender on ours like Hating LaVender Brown or something else like that. I don't know just an idea

"Hi Ginny. Looks like we'll be working together this year!" He beamed.
"Yeah, supperb, Dean." I said to him as I began to guide the new Gryffindors out of the hall. Fantastic, this is all I need.
"Well I look forward to it!" He replied walking away or perhaps relising I was less enthoused. This was soo not happening!
As we arrived at the portrait of the fat lady. I told all the new Gryffindors the password, Crumple-Horned Snorkack. Just wait untill Hermione hears this! Dean demonstrated and in a clear and loud voice said "Crumple-Horned Snorkack". They all wanted a shot so Dean waited on them inside and I waited untill all of them had a go. All I heard for about ten minuets was "Crumple-Horned Snorkack"

"Crumple-Horned Snorkack" Before I said it myself and entered the common room. Dean had already show them where they were their dorms were and so I colapsed on the sofa beside Harry. He extended an arm across the back of the sofa behind me. "Hermione said we've to wait on her before we make any plans." I told Harry. At that Hermione came bounding into the common room with an excited grin spread across her face dragging Ron behind her. "Harry, Ginny, come quick, you've got to see this!" I jumpped up too quickly, getting far too exticted and almost fell over trying to drag Harry from the chair. I ran out of the common room holding Harry's hand trying to catch up with Ron and Hermione. I was too slow and couldn't up keep suddenly Harry scooped me up and lifted me onto his back and ran just as fast even with the extra weight. I couldn't help but laugh. We came to a stop at a large door where Hermione placed her hand on the knob and stepped inside and we all followed. "This is our living quarters!" She said excitedly "There are four double rooms all with their own bathroom, come Ginny, I'll show you your room". I walked inside the bedroom. The walls were painted in red and there was a huge window you could look out to see the quidditch pitch. At each side of the window was long wine red drapes with a gold trim. They matched the bed spread. There was a four poster bed. It was oak wood which tied in with the rest of the furniture. The walls were adorned with photographs of all my friends and family and sitting on the middle of my bed was my teddy bear, Toby. Hermione gushed about something and was practically jumping off the walls. She skipped out of the room and I suddenly felt something from behinde me. Two long arms slinked around my waist and a chin rested on my shoulder. "Harry?" I said.
"No, its...Dean." Harry said in a bad impersonation of Dean, whom I could not fathom.
"Then get off me you pervert. I said turning around and stepping away." Harry laughed and I jumped back into his arms, and he held me close.
"Ginny?"
"Yeah?" I replied as my lips brushed his neck
"I want you to know that know matter what happens this year, I will always love you."
"I'll awlays love you too, Harry." I told him. I could hear the fear in his voice and no wonder. He was going to try and defeat the world most powerful wizard. I hugged him tightly.
He pulled away from me gently and gazed deep into my eyes. "I'm serious Ginny. We sometimes get caught up in ourselves, and its great and all but, things are different this year. A lot worse than they have ever been. Its going to be dangerous, so promise me one thing?" He asked. I looked at him to continue. "Please stay safe." He asked.
"Ok, I'll try, but I'm not promising because that would mean I'd have to break up with you if you want me to stay out of trouble, and there is no way thats happening!" He hugged me tighter and kissed my hair.
"Oh and another thing, are we staying in here or in my room. This room has a better view and is slightly bigger and..."
I interupted him. "Harry, I don't care, as long as I'm with you."
"It will take me two seconds to get my things sorted. Accio trunk." Harry's trunk flew into the room and despite the high speed it flew in at, it landed quite gracefully beside my trunk. Harry pulled me onto our bed, put an arm around me and flicked his wand up and down, making stacks of our clothes form neat piles in the oak wardrobes and drawers. I cuddled into his chest, which was moulded perfecty for my body. There was a quick knock at the door and without waiting for a reply they hurried in the door gasping when she found Harry and I cuddled up together- really not something I thought was worth gasping over.

Ok I know the whole Dean being a prefect thing shouldn't really happen cause he's a year older than Ginny, but it needs to be like this for the purposes of the story-sorry girls. Please bear with me though and tell me what you think. :)

Hey Connie.

Please don't feel you have to apologise for not commenting. I'm just an impationt person at times. I know we all have lives outside of Snitchseeker and I understand that. I also know that you are one of my most faithfull readers so it's ok to get behind. I understand lots of us read lots of fan fics.

When my mum was little she had a Teddy Bear called Toby who I have inherited. I thought It would be a nice touch to the story showing how Ginny may be growing up but she's still a child at heart. And don't worry abot rambling-I love a good ramble!

"Mr. Potter. Miss Weasley. What do you think you are doing?" Harry kept his arm around me. I was so embarassed.
"Hello Profesor Mc Gonagall" Harry replied.
"Must I ask agian why you both are...well....wrapped up together? This is not toleratible at Hogwarts, I'll have you know," She spotted Harry's trunk on the floor next to mines. "And I cannot allow you to stay in the same room together if thats what your thinking ,Potter! You do see Miss Weasleys name on the plaque above the door don't you? You must abide by these rules or I otherwise I must send you both back to the Gryiffindor dorm and also deduct points from the Gryffindor house!"
"Yes Proffesor." Harry said politly though he continued to sit on the bed with his arm around me.
"Potter, Dumbledore wishes to speak with you tomorrow after breakast. I do believe it is quite important. You are to bring along Mr. Weasley, Miss Granger, and no doubt, Miss Weasley too. Now do you know where I can find Mr Weasley and Miss Granger?" She asked.
Harry shrugged. "Umm... Proffesor, have you tried Ron or Hermione's rooms." I said sweetly. She tutted and hurried quickly back out the door. I heared her gasp once more then Harry began to pack his trunk to move into his own room. I had a peek in the bathroom which was HUGE. The bath itself was probably the same size as a swimming pool. I returned to the bedroom. Harry pulled me into his arms. I lay between his legs and my back rested against his chest. His arms wrapped around my body. "I wonder what Dumbledore wants?" I said to him as I drummed my fingers on his knee
"I think I know and I'd rather you didn't come Gin." He replied.
"And why not?" I could feel the anger building up in my body and my hands grip his leg tighter.
"Because its about the Horuxes Ginny. And the task Dumbledore has set for me this year to try to defeat Voldemort." He said as his hands moved to my shoulders and began to give me a massage. I could feel myself calming down, my body relaxing into his. All the fustration and tense in my body that had been building up, faded away. He stopped and returned to having his arms around me tighter than before. "Harry, I should be there and I want to be with you when your away."
"Its far too dangerous Gin." He whispered in a hushed tone into my ear. "I made a promise to your dad that I'd look after you. Plus Ron and Hermione sometimes won't even come and I doubt that Ron will let you or Hermione go. You need to stay Ginny. You'll be what'll bring me back." He said to me as a tear scaped my eye.
"How can you look after me if your not here with me? I don't want to loose you Harry." I sobbed curling up against his chest.
"You won't Gin, I promise. But I need to go to my own room now."
"Don't go Harry, not tonight. We'll make it our last. It's wrong but I love you, Harry Potter." I told him.
"Love you too." He said pulling me closer against him and planting a kiss on my forehead. That night, I fell asleep in Harry's arms, comferted by the fact his arms were wrapped around me tighter than ever. This would be all over within a year, I could just feel it.

Ok.. This isn't my best post.. I know but I'd appreciate it if you told me what you thought. I'll be at a Wedding on Friday so I won't be able to post on Friday night like I wanted to but I might on Thursday, but I'm not promising so don't hate me if I don't.

Sorry for not reviewing recently! I was at camp, and now my life is hectic, I have swimming lessons, lunch, swimming lessons, hour at home (a.k.a doing school), dance, then late dinner and probably dragged off to a movie with my brothers.. Which is quite annoying lol.. But, I got a quick break before my school "starts" again.. Aaaaanyways.

I loooove the updates! Really cool.. Though Harry needs to get this through his thick skull, you CAN'T leave Ginny out of things, cause she'll slap you and do it anyways kiddo..
