Hi, My name is Sophie, or Soph if you like. This is my first ever Fan Fic and I'm so nervous to see what you think. I don't own anything in the Harry Potter world but a HUGE thanks to JK Rowling who does and does such a good job at brining the characters to life through all her fab Harry Potter books.

So here's whats happening. Sirius has just died and Harry is returning to the burrow before school starts back. Only difference is that I've made Harry and Ginny go out with each other in the last few weeks of school like just after Sirius death and that Dumbeldore has already told Harry of his task he will have set for him when he returns to Hogwarts, oh yeah, and Bill and Fleure's wedding is THIS summer instead of it being the following year. So this story follows Harry and Ginny over the next few years at Hogwarts and we follow the story as they rekindle their relationship so this is a Harry/Ginny Fan Fic

So here goes...

Chapter 1

It was all set. Harry was to arrive at the burrow tonight.

I don't know how I feel about this. On one hand, it will be safe for him here untill we all leave to go back to Hogwarts where he will complete Dumbeldore's task but on the other it's difficult for me to be around him. After we broke up my whole world came crashing down. My life is black hole without him and as much as I want to see him, it will leave me heartbroken if something bad happens at this dangerous time in the wizarding community.
You see, after the fight at the mnistry, Dumbeldore told Harry that there was only one way to destroy Voldemort, that is destroying the Horouxes he has made. So Harry this year at Hogwarts is to attempt to defeat the Voldemort-again. So that is why Harry and I are no longer, because of Voldemort.
I remember how sick I felt when he left me, apparently in order to "protect" me. I don't need protecting! I need him. He is the only thing that could hurt me and he did. Hermionie tells me it out of love, yeah well, love sucks in my opinion. I'm sure he didn't intentionly mean to hurt me, but he did. It only makes it worse when he talks to me just like when we were friends. I can't stand the politness of the tone of his voice. I would just gaze into those emerald eyes whie listening to his tenor voice. It inflicted pain upon me but I felt close to him, because I knew he was right there with me. Mum was so worried at first. She told me it was for the best "Things like this happen for a reason, Dear," she would say "Your lucky Harry cares so much about you." I would turn away and cringe at the sound of his name. We haven't seen each other in so long, well about two weeks but thats a long time for us to be apart.

Harry arrived just after 7pm accompanied by order member Kingsley Shacklebolt. Mum pulled him into a tight hug saying how wonderful it was to see him. He shook my dads hand then looked at me. I looked back with an expresionless face showing no sign of emotion. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. I looked down at the floor and I felt myself being pulled toward him in a weak but friendly hug. I inhaled deeply. I was home. Back in Harry's arms. The famous Harry smell incircled me but he let go too soon. Everyone watched carefully to see how I would react. I looked up avoiding everyones stairy eyes, shrugged, smiled weakly then continued to the sitting room.

"Dinner!" Mum shouted. I put my book down and made my way to the dinner table. Harry went for the same seat as me. I tryed to show no sign of emotion but failed when I breathed out heavily and shook my head. Why me? Why does he have to make this unbearably painful than it already is? I turned to go to the furthest away seat. "Gin," he pulled out the chair and gestured with his hand for me to sit. It saddend me when he called me Gin. Only called me that. "Thank you." I replied, in an emotionless tone and obediently I sat down and ate my dinner in silence.

Chapter 2

Later that Night...

Kingsley left the Burrow as soon as Hary was settled in. Hermionie had arrived shortly after dinner. Her arrival seemed to lighten up a rather moody Ron. I don't understand why Harry and Hermionie put up with his sulky attitude
I was in the spare room with Hermionie. She was unpacking a few nessesities for her short visit. "So," she said "...How've you been, Ginny? You didn't put much in the letters"
"I won't lie to you, Hermionie, I've been better," I said in a flat tone and I shrugged as I stared up at the celling trying to hold back tears. I knew where the conversation was going.
"Oh Ginny," Hermionie stopped what she was doing and came over and sat down beside me. She wrapped her long boney arms around my shoulders and I broke into tears. "It's so hard to face him," I sobbed "I can't look at him and when I do, I feel like I've been punched in the stomach. It hurts to be in the same room as him. He said it's for the best. How is this better than when we were together. I don't know about him, but this is know good for me Hermionie. If only he knew. I mean,I..I..I"
"Ginny," she smoothed down my hair "you have no idea how much this hurts Harry. Your his everything. Your all he talks about, when Rons not there obviously, but this is why he's doing this, for you. He has to defeat Voldemort and this is the only way he can. It will be tough for both of you, but once this is over you both can get on with your lives, without Voldemorts annual interuptions. Harry loves you Ginny. Trust me."

Hermionie and I contiued talking and laughing. I was winding her up about how Ron liked her and we both burst out laughing.We were interupted with a knock on my room door. We both coposed ourselves before I opened it.
It was Ron. We both started laughing again. He looked at us with a puzzled expression. "Um... Mum sent me up. She's made tea and said you've to come down for some before bed." He bounded back down the staris
"Put on a brave face for Harry." Hermionie said with a smile. I nodded in agreement before pulling a jumper on over my pyjama top and slipping on my slippers before heading downstairs.

Chapter 3- Part 1

I woke with the sun glaring through the blinds. I rolled over onto my side. My alarm clock blinked 7:30am. I gazed around my bedroom. "Good morning Ginny." Hermionie said. "Morning" I replied only half awake . I sat up and looked round the room "Are you comming down to help?" Hermionie was already up and dressed. She sat at my dressing table brushing her hair.
"With..." I asked dazed and confused
"It's Harry's birthday and your mums having a special birthday brunch. Plus there's last minuet plans for Bill and Fleur's Wedding. Fleur's Parents and sister arrive tomorrow." Yuck. Can't say I think much of Gabrielle. She should know that Harry will never be her's and that he only has eye's for me.
"Oh yeah. Do me a favour. There's a gift bag in my cupboard. It's for Harry. Can you take it down to the kitchen with you. I'll be down in five" Hermionie left the room and I climbed out of bed, stretched and put on a navey top, tights and navey and white skirt. I walked out of my room and across the hall to the bathroom. I tied my hair back and washed my face with hot water. Then I brushed my teeth and rinsed with cool minty mouthwash. I now felt quite awake. I joined my mum, dad and Hermionie in the kitchen. Mum, once again had outdone herself. She must have made enough to feed fifty, but then again we've got Ron to feed!
Harry came sleepily down stairs followed by Ron. "Happy Birthday Harry!" Hermionie handed him a small bag. "It's for when we leave," she told him as he unwraped it. "I find that writing all my thought and feelings down in a diary helps plus that is possible the most interesting book I've ever read"
"Thank you Hermionie. I love it" The diary was beautiful. It had a leather cover and the book was about magical creatures. It looked very interesting. I'm sure Harry will enjoy reading it.
"Happy Birthday Mate." Ron said while handing him a rather small peculiar box. It was well wrapped in shiny red paper with a golden bow, which made me think who wrapped it because it obviously wasn't Ron. Harry opened it carefully. "I couldn't think what to get you so it's the broom polish PLUS and I O U." but that was just an act. I knew fine well what Ron had got Harry. A book called 'Fail Safe Ways to Charm Witches.' and I only knew that because I was with himwhen he bought it. He was obviously embarrased about what Mum and Hermionie would think of him getting him a gift like that.
"Thanks Ron. You shouldn't have" Harry said laughing.
"No bother ,Mate" I just glared at Ron and Herionie rolled her eyes. I was about to had Harry his birthday gift when Ron but in and said "Aw, Mum what's for breakfast? I'm famished!"
"Yeah, cauz you look starved, Ron!" I glared at him. He gets in the way of everything!
"Geez, Ginny. What's with the attitude? What's the problem?"
"Your face, Ron. You git!" I stormed out the door and into the garden. This was too much. He is so insensitive sometimes!
"Ronald!" Hermioie tutted
"What did I do. It's not my fault she's in a bloody bad mood! Time of the month or what!" I heard him mutter.
"RONALD!" I heard her scream "Ginny's right. You are an insensitive git!"

Harry and I were in the kitchen making hot chocolate. In the living room we could hear Ron and Hermione bickering about Halloween Decorations. "Honestly Ronald, try and put in a little effort. Some input would be nice."

"Bloody hell Hermione! I don't care what colour of table cloth you pick. But, honestly woman, just pick one!"

"Fine then, Ron. I will! I might just get Ginny to help me instead!" I walked into the room and put the tray with four hot chocolates on the coffee table.
"Yeah, Hermione I don't mind helping you with a few things." I put a lot of emphasis on the 'few'. "Oh Neville and Luna were looking forward to seeing you. So I thought I could invite them over tomorrow night for dinner. They were really good to me when you lot left me here."

"Which won't happen again," Hermione said smiling, "because I'm staying behind next time."

"Harry!" I huffed. "You said that I was coming with you." I elbowed him in the ribs.

"Oh don't be silly Ginny. You need to stay here and get good grades. I couldn't live with myself if anything happened to you! And I didn't say that, all I said was that it won't happen again." He said, talking to me like I was a baby. He pulled my across the sofa to him and captured me in a bone crushing bare hug. I pulled at his arms to get myself free but he was too strong. "Eh, first what's the magic word Ginny?"

"Let me go Harry!" I kissed his nose and put on me pet face, pretending to look upset. "Please"

"Now come on Gin. Tell me the magic word."

"I love you Harry."

"I love you too Ginny. You’re free to go if you want to."

"Oh no, I'm much too comfortable. I settled myself across him with my back against his chest. He wound his arms around me tightly."
I pulled my wand out of my pocket and levitated my mug of hot chocolate into my hand. Harry had put marshmallows, whipped cream and grated chocolate on top and stuck a chocolate straw into the side. I sipped it slowly, the hot liquid helping to heat up my cold body. I could tell I had a whipped cream moustache because when I turned around to look at Harry he smiled and leaned in to kiss me. He parted his lips and let his tongue trace along my top lip, licking away the cream. I smiled and kissed him again. I broke away and his face formed a pout. I kissed him again and this time he broke away as he remembered something. "Oh, this Saturday it is the Quidditch try-outs. You will come won't you? And you Ron?" Ron glanced up from Harry's Quidditch Weekly magazine, nodded and then looked back down to the glossy paper. It wasn't a text book but at least he was reading something.
"Harry, you can't be biased when it comes to picking the team, remember? So Ron, don't get your hopes up!" Hermione warned
"Hermione, will you ever have faith in me?" He asked nudging her playfully.
"Well I don't need to try out. Harry already knows how good I am." I winked at him then cuddled into his side.
"Yeah but you still need to come along. You know, keep up appearances." He laughed.
"Well Harry, if I don't get on the team we are so over." I sounded serious, but this time I winked at Hermione.
"You are kidding aren’t you?"
"Now why would I be kidding?"
"Ok but Ginny after the trials, we should go to Hogsmeade to look for ball gowns!" A smile spread across her face.
"Sounds like a plan." I returned the smile and nodded agreeing with her.
""Oh we could even invite Luna."
"I'll speak to her at lunch tomorrow. And it'll be only one more day until the weekend!" I clapped my hands and squealed.
"I know you guys will be busy with Halloween ball stuff so on Sunday, Ginny and I are going to visit my parents graves."
"Oh, ok. Um...well, we'll come with you." Hermione said. "Won't we, Ron?" Ron looked at Hermione then to Harry.
"Eh, it's up to you mate. We're always here you know that."
"I think I'd prefer if I just went with Ginny."
"Are you sure Harry becau..." Hermione started but Ron butted in with a rather loud yawn.
"Oh I'm so tired!" He said as he stretched and rose from his seat. Come on Hermione, time for bed. He took her hand and pulled her up putting his arm around her waist but at the same time bending down to place a kiss on my forehead. "Night Kiddo. See you in the morning." He told me.
"But..." Hermione butted in. Ron quickly shook Harry's hand and pulled Hermione away before she could say anything more.
"Maybe we should hit the sack too." Harry said nuzzling my ear and kissing behind it at the sensitive spot that made me feel like I could melt into him and up my hairline to my forehead, then kissing all the way down my face kissing everywhere, except my lips.
"I think so." I replied getting up pulling Harry with me. We walked to my room in silence. Even though we'd closed the door, we could hear Ron and Hermione arguing... "Harry has always been our friend Ron. Much longer than he's know Ginny. It worry's me that she'll get hurt and he won't know. Or something will scare her and he won't understand because he's so used to it."
"What a load of..."
"Don't use that tone with me Ron. She's your sister; you could at least look out for her!"
"That’s all I do Hermione! It may not seem like it to you but it’s all I do! And Harry is a man. He can look out for himself. We can too but he knows what he's doing. I trust him. I trust him to look after my baby sister when I'm not here." Ron's tone got softer with each word, and quieter with each sentence. "Harry and Ginny need time for each other sometimes. Just like I sometimes I wish I got time with just you."
"We're supposed to be best friend the three of us-no offense to Ginny or anything but...”
"If you can't live with my little sister then how do you expect to ever live with me?" We heard the door slam and footsteps walk out. Harry sat on my bed and waited on me to return from the bathroom. I tried to disguise the fact I was crying by washing my face thoroughly after bushing my teeth. I hate thinking that I’m imposing on their friendship but then to hear it coming from Hermione made it different.
"You know Hermione didn't mean that. She loves you like a sister."Harry said as I lay down beside him and buried my head in his chest. I nodded but thought differently.
" Will you be ok?" He asked after a while.
"Yip." He got off the bed and kissed me gently on the lips before leaving quietly. I listened for his room door to close. It did but I couldn't sleep. I couldn't digest what Hermione said. I always thought of her as a sister, but sisters don't think of each other like that. Not even brothers and sisters! I tumbled out of bed and went to the bathroom. I filled a cup with water and drunk it in big gulps. When I walked back into my room, I flicked my wand at the light switch and in a flash the light went out. I stared out the window at the dark blustery night. The trees in the distance swayed from left to right like they were dancing together in the moonlight. It made me think of them all at the Halloween ball which I would not be attending. Anything to do with Hermione I was boycotting. If that’s they way she wants it- without me- then that’s the way she can have it. There was a soft knock at the door and Ron peeped his head in. He came over and sat on the edge of the bed. He smiled at me- still the same smile he smiled when we were younger. I pulled the covers back as my invitation to let him in. Some may find that creepy sleeping in beside your big brother, but I see it as cuddly and protecting. He didn't need to say anything for me to know he was angry with Hermione. I ducked under his arm and he whispered to me. "I remember when we were little and whenever you had a bad dream, you would always run up the stairs and jump into my bed and tell me about the bad man that was hiding in your cupboard. I would say that everything would be ok, and I would chase him away in the morning. Do you remember?"
I giggled at the memories. "Yeah, I remember. And in the morning I would hide under your covers until you had left the room to chase him away. I'm lucky to have a brother like you Ron. I don't know what I'd do without you." Ron gave me a tight squeeze.
"I know you heard Hermione and me arguing. Harry told me. I'm sorry. You shouldn't have to hear that. She was out of order. You've always been part of our group and you've always treated Hermione like a sister so I was surprised to hear her talk about you like that! I'm very angry with her."
"Please don't let me get in the way of you two, Ron. I know you love her. I can see it when you’re around her, the way you look at her and I know that you'd do anything for her."
"I know, but lately, I don't know what’s been up with her. It's not like she's ever left my side to be upset with anything."
"Maybe she's glad to be back but it's just taking her a while to get used to it."
"Or maybe it's the fact that I haven't left her side. I sometimes worry that she gets fed up of me."
"Oh Ron, don't be so ridiculous."

"Ron, I only heard a little of what was said, so please don't tell me what she said about me or anything else that was said. I'm sorry but I'm upset enough and need some sleep. You may not need to go to class but I do." He laughed.

"Do you mind if I stay here tonight, I usually stay with Hermione and my room isn't exactly tidy or orderly?"

I frowned at him. "One night only. That’s your job for tomorrow-to gut your room. I want my bed back!"

So there you go. I feel bad after that post

I've always wondered if any of them ever felt like Ginny was imposing on their little trio or something... I don't know, I understand Hermione's side and Ginny's... But it is Harry's decision on who he'd want to take with him to visit his parents' graves.

The part with Ginny and Ron was precious! I love sibling affection like that! It's cute, not creepy!

Hello Sophie. It's good to see Ginny handling everything in stride. Until the bombshell from Hermione. What's up with Hermione. At first it sounded like she was wanting to go with Harry because she was worried about Ginny being able to handle Harry if he got emotional at the grave site of his parents. But then it sounded like she doubted Ginny could be as good for Harry as her and Ron were. I wonder if she has gotten a mother hen fixation for Harry. She's always thinking he needs watching over. I don't know, but, I sure hope they get everything patched up. And I think it's sweet of Ron to be with Ginny during her hurting. And I loved the last where she tells Ron she wants her bed back tomorrow, and he has to clean his room. So cute.

Same! But to be honest I think the two are just as bad as each other! Hermione is over protective whereas Ginny just does what she likes and never thinks about the consequences

Ok first before I give you this post, I would like to dedicate this post to Connie, a fantastic writer who has finished writing a superb fan fic! You did a fantastic job and I'm really going to miss it. Thanks for sharing it with us!

I woke the next morning to find Ron sprawled across the bottom of the bed snoring and without any covers as I had coveted his side during the night. I tucked the covers around him and proceeded to the bathroom to get showered and dressed. I tip toed out to the living room thinking no one would be up though Harry was in the kitchen making breakfast. "Hi" He said putting an arm around my waist pulling me into his warm embrace before kissing my forehead.
"Ron said he was going to stay in with you last night."
"He did? Was that planned?"
"I told him we heard them and said you were a little upset. He is after all very protective of you and I know the two of you are close." He said, handing me a roll and bacon.
"You know, Ron has enough to worry about without worrying about me too." I said flopping down on the couch.
"Yeah I know." He thought for a moment. He looked agitated. He kept on bouncing his foot on the floor. I went over and sat beside him and took his hand. ""
"What's up Harry?"
"It's just...I mean, on Sunday, I don't think I've completely thought this through. What if there's death eaters or something watching there for me. I wouldn't want you getting caught up in this."
"Well Harry, you have a think about what you want to do then let me know later. I'll see you tonight" I told him, then set out for class and the long day ahead.

I asked Luna about how she felt about going dress shopping to Madam Malkin’s sister’s shop in Hogsmeade, Mademoiselle Mia's Dress Robes for All Occasions, run by her niece and God-daughter Mia, of course. She gets good custom from all the Hogwarts girls looking for ball gowns. She never makes the same dress so everyone has something different. As a former Hogwarts student herself, she knows what girls our age are looking for. Luna said she was up for a shopping trip!

By Saturday, Hermione and I still were not speaking. She hadn't said anything to me and I had nothing to say to her. We were supposed to be dress shopping together, but I had still promised Luna the two of us would go so I was surprised to see Hermione sitting on the sofa in the living room looking ready to go out. I met Luna at the Ravenclaw common room door and we headed to breakfast. We were at Mademoiselle Mia's for the shop opening and were the first girls inside, so we were able to get first pick of all the dresses. I was looking for something emerald green and tried on several dresses. I was looking for a longer length skirt; Luna had her heart set on a sparkly yellow cocktail dress. I fitted her like a glove. It was soooo pretty. But when I had managed to narrow it down to two dresses you'll never guess who walked in!

Hermione and Cho!!!! You have got to be kidding! "Have they always been friends?" Luna asked as I stared at the pair with my mouth hung open.
"Well Luna, as far as I was concerned, Hermione didn't even like Cho Chang,"I said unable to believe how friendly they acted "but then again, what do I know" I told her shrugging my shoulders. I had convinced myself that there was no way on this earth I was going to this stupid ball but Harry had talked me out of it. "Oh come on Gin" he said. "We'll have so much fun. Just the two of us. I'll even cook before it." He whispered, nuzzling my neck. "And I'll go out and you and Luna can have the dorm to yourself and get ready...If you like?"
"Mmm." was the only sound I made.
"You can fool everyone else with your excuses that, you can't dancing or whatever, but I know that you love dancing, especially with me. And that you like losing your tom-boy image for a day, but to me you’re always just as beautiful, so you can't fool me Miss Weasley. " He said and left me speechless as he kissed my cheek and walked away.

I looked at my watch. "Mia!?" She came skipping into the changing room.
"What can I do for you, Ginny?" She asked smiling.
"I'm really short on time and I haven't made my mind up between these two dresses yet. Could you reserve them?" I asked
"Umm.." Her smile faded to a frown "I don't know Ginny, I.."
"Please." I pleaded with her. "I'll come back tomorrow and pick it up. I just need to sleep on it."
"Well...We're not open on Sundays."
"Ok, first thing Monday morning,..."
"Won't you be in class?"
"I'll send Harry to pick it up. I really need to go, but please."
"Ok, ok! I was going to say I'll bring it up to the castle but if you could get someone to pick it up, that would really help."
"Ok, I'll send you an Owl tomorrow and I'll arrange for someone to pick it up. Thank you so much Mia!" I hugged her tightly and then run out the shop right behind Luna who had already paid for her dress. I said bye to Luna at the changing room entrances. I walked through the double doors and Harry was standing outside the girls changing room door. It was a nice surprise. "Harry!" I yelled then jumped into his arms.
"Wow that was unexpected. Did you miss me?"
"Of course I did, silly!" I squeezed him tighter before letting go. "I need to get changed," I told him grabbing a handful of his quidditch uniform. I pecked him on the cheek and changed quickly then fixed my hair into a French pleat. When I came out he was still leaning against the wall only this time with the case containing all the apparatus at his feet. He lifted it up with one hand and half hugged me with his other. "So how was shopping?"
"Well Luna got her dress. It's so lovely, Harry" I gushed, "but I'm stuck between two dresses."
"What colour are they." He asked. I narrowed my eyes at him. "So I can coordinate!" He said as if it was a stupid question.
"Well, they are both green." I told him blushing. He smiled knowing why I had picked that colour of dress, but in all fairness, green isn't my favourite colour because of Harry's eyes. I've always liked it. It’s a beautiful earthy colour and can mean so many different things because of all the different shades.
"But, you'll never guess what! Hermione walked in. With Cho Chang! Cho bloody Chang! I didn't even know she liked her! And then she was all giggly and everything with her. And was looking me up and down and.."
"Shh." Harry put a finger to my lips when we stepped onto the pitch. "Sounds like someone is a little jealous, and sounds like Hermione did that on purpose. I know for a fact she doesn't like Cho, and no matter what dress you pick, I'm sure you'll look lovely." He wound his arms around me tightly. I reached up to his face and wound my arms around his neck pulling his face closer to mine and he closed the distance softly capturing my mouth with his.
After a short while, some coughed loudly and Harry and I broke apart.
"Well, there's the first person to make the team." A young third year muttered.
Harry blushed, very embarrassed but I just started handing out the old tatty brooms.
"Look sunshine," I told the third year as I handed him his broom "I don't need to date the captain to get on the team. But between you and me, I'm just as good as him, if not better."
"Mmmhmm!" Harry hummed in surprise as he crossed his arms across his chest.
"Oh Harry" I laughed. "You know it's true!" I mounted my broom, kissed his cheek then flew quickly upwards into the cold air.

Ok so I had like five minutes and I feel I'm losing touch, but I have lots of good ideas that Katie managed to get out of me....I am not happy about that! She could be a detective! But at the same time stuff sorta just slipped out

ok when I was checking to see if the links had worked, the page for hermione's dress was blured and so this was her back up dress, I'm so gutted about the other one, I'll keep looking for something else and I'll tell you if I change it

I personally like the first one more. They're both pretty, but the first one really caught my eye. It's up to you though

So, when I was looking at the links the first time, I think your first dress pic was the one I saw... It was blurry when I first went to the page, but then it focused...

This was my first pick for Hermione, It takes forever to load though, so I've changed it to one similar.
