Hi, My name is Sophie, or Soph if you like. This is my first ever Fan Fic and I'm so nervous to see what you think. I don't own anything in the Harry Potter world but a HUGE thanks to JK Rowling who does and does such a good job at brining the characters to life through all her fab Harry Potter books.

So here's whats happening. Sirius has just died and Harry is returning to the burrow before school starts back. Only difference is that I've made Harry and Ginny go out with each other in the last few weeks of school like just after Sirius death and that Dumbeldore has already told Harry of his task he will have set for him when he returns to Hogwarts, oh yeah, and Bill and Fleure's wedding is THIS summer instead of it being the following year. So this story follows Harry and Ginny over the next few years at Hogwarts and we follow the story as they rekindle their relationship so this is a Harry/Ginny Fan Fic

So here goes...

Chapter 1

It was all set. Harry was to arrive at the burrow tonight.

I don't know how I feel about this. On one hand, it will be safe for him here untill we all leave to go back to Hogwarts where he will complete Dumbeldore's task but on the other it's difficult for me to be around him. After we broke up my whole world came crashing down. My life is black hole without him and as much as I want to see him, it will leave me heartbroken if something bad happens at this dangerous time in the wizarding community.
You see, after the fight at the mnistry, Dumbeldore told Harry that there was only one way to destroy Voldemort, that is destroying the Horouxes he has made. So Harry this year at Hogwarts is to attempt to defeat the Voldemort-again. So that is why Harry and I are no longer, because of Voldemort.
I remember how sick I felt when he left me, apparently in order to "protect" me. I don't need protecting! I need him. He is the only thing that could hurt me and he did. Hermionie tells me it out of love, yeah well, love sucks in my opinion. I'm sure he didn't intentionly mean to hurt me, but he did. It only makes it worse when he talks to me just like when we were friends. I can't stand the politness of the tone of his voice. I would just gaze into those emerald eyes whie listening to his tenor voice. It inflicted pain upon me but I felt close to him, because I knew he was right there with me. Mum was so worried at first. She told me it was for the best "Things like this happen for a reason, Dear," she would say "Your lucky Harry cares so much about you." I would turn away and cringe at the sound of his name. We haven't seen each other in so long, well about two weeks but thats a long time for us to be apart.

Harry arrived just after 7pm accompanied by order member Kingsley Shacklebolt. Mum pulled him into a tight hug saying how wonderful it was to see him. He shook my dads hand then looked at me. I looked back with an expresionless face showing no sign of emotion. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. I looked down at the floor and I felt myself being pulled toward him in a weak but friendly hug. I inhaled deeply. I was home. Back in Harry's arms. The famous Harry smell incircled me but he let go too soon. Everyone watched carefully to see how I would react. I looked up avoiding everyones stairy eyes, shrugged, smiled weakly then continued to the sitting room.

"Dinner!" Mum shouted. I put my book down and made my way to the dinner table. Harry went for the same seat as me. I tryed to show no sign of emotion but failed when I breathed out heavily and shook my head. Why me? Why does he have to make this unbearably painful than it already is? I turned to go to the furthest away seat. "Gin," he pulled out the chair and gestured with his hand for me to sit. It saddend me when he called me Gin. Only called me that. "Thank you." I replied, in an emotionless tone and obediently I sat down and ate my dinner in silence.

Chapter 2

Later that Night...

Kingsley left the Burrow as soon as Hary was settled in. Hermionie had arrived shortly after dinner. Her arrival seemed to lighten up a rather moody Ron. I don't understand why Harry and Hermionie put up with his sulky attitude
I was in the spare room with Hermionie. She was unpacking a few nessesities for her short visit. "So," she said "...How've you been, Ginny? You didn't put much in the letters"
"I won't lie to you, Hermionie, I've been better," I said in a flat tone and I shrugged as I stared up at the celling trying to hold back tears. I knew where the conversation was going.
"Oh Ginny," Hermionie stopped what she was doing and came over and sat down beside me. She wrapped her long boney arms around my shoulders and I broke into tears. "It's so hard to face him," I sobbed "I can't look at him and when I do, I feel like I've been punched in the stomach. It hurts to be in the same room as him. He said it's for the best. How is this better than when we were together. I don't know about him, but this is know good for me Hermionie. If only he knew. I mean,I..I..I"
"Ginny," she smoothed down my hair "you have no idea how much this hurts Harry. Your his everything. Your all he talks about, when Rons not there obviously, but this is why he's doing this, for you. He has to defeat Voldemort and this is the only way he can. It will be tough for both of you, but once this is over you both can get on with your lives, without Voldemorts annual interuptions. Harry loves you Ginny. Trust me."

Hermionie and I contiued talking and laughing. I was winding her up about how Ron liked her and we both burst out laughing.We were interupted with a knock on my room door. We both coposed ourselves before I opened it.
It was Ron. We both started laughing again. He looked at us with a puzzled expression. "Um... Mum sent me up. She's made tea and said you've to come down for some before bed." He bounded back down the staris
"Put on a brave face for Harry." Hermionie said with a smile. I nodded in agreement before pulling a jumper on over my pyjama top and slipping on my slippers before heading downstairs.

Chapter 3- Part 1

I woke with the sun glaring through the blinds. I rolled over onto my side. My alarm clock blinked 7:30am. I gazed around my bedroom. "Good morning Ginny." Hermionie said. "Morning" I replied only half awake . I sat up and looked round the room "Are you comming down to help?" Hermionie was already up and dressed. She sat at my dressing table brushing her hair.
"With..." I asked dazed and confused
"It's Harry's birthday and your mums having a special birthday brunch. Plus there's last minuet plans for Bill and Fleur's Wedding. Fleur's Parents and sister arrive tomorrow." Yuck. Can't say I think much of Gabrielle. She should know that Harry will never be her's and that he only has eye's for me.
"Oh yeah. Do me a favour. There's a gift bag in my cupboard. It's for Harry. Can you take it down to the kitchen with you. I'll be down in five" Hermionie left the room and I climbed out of bed, stretched and put on a navey top, tights and navey and white skirt. I walked out of my room and across the hall to the bathroom. I tied my hair back and washed my face with hot water. Then I brushed my teeth and rinsed with cool minty mouthwash. I now felt quite awake. I joined my mum, dad and Hermionie in the kitchen. Mum, once again had outdone herself. She must have made enough to feed fifty, but then again we've got Ron to feed!
Harry came sleepily down stairs followed by Ron. "Happy Birthday Harry!" Hermionie handed him a small bag. "It's for when we leave," she told him as he unwraped it. "I find that writing all my thought and feelings down in a diary helps plus that is possible the most interesting book I've ever read"
"Thank you Hermionie. I love it" The diary was beautiful. It had a leather cover and the book was about magical creatures. It looked very interesting. I'm sure Harry will enjoy reading it.
"Happy Birthday Mate." Ron said while handing him a rather small peculiar box. It was well wrapped in shiny red paper with a golden bow, which made me think who wrapped it because it obviously wasn't Ron. Harry opened it carefully. "I couldn't think what to get you so it's the broom polish PLUS and I O U." but that was just an act. I knew fine well what Ron had got Harry. A book called 'Fail Safe Ways to Charm Witches.' and I only knew that because I was with himwhen he bought it. He was obviously embarrased about what Mum and Hermionie would think of him getting him a gift like that.
"Thanks Ron. You shouldn't have" Harry said laughing.
"No bother ,Mate" I just glared at Ron and Herionie rolled her eyes. I was about to had Harry his birthday gift when Ron but in and said "Aw, Mum what's for breakfast? I'm famished!"
"Yeah, cauz you look starved, Ron!" I glared at him. He gets in the way of everything!
"Geez, Ginny. What's with the attitude? What's the problem?"
"Your face, Ron. You git!" I stormed out the door and into the garden. This was too much. He is so insensitive sometimes!
"Ronald!" Hermioie tutted
"What did I do. It's not my fault she's in a bloody bad mood! Time of the month or what!" I heard him mutter.
"RONALD!" I heard her scream "Ginny's right. You are an insensitive git!"

I do! Believe me it comes in handy all the time- especially during maths! But it just isn't good trying to leave a message and it's really not good for quoting replies. That is a major no no. I don't want to go back to school

I don't think I can handal another year of those.... Never mind..... But anyway I have my beautiful laptop back. One thing holidays are good for- writing on the beach. I've started writing a new fic. Don't know if I'll put it up though! I hope to post tomorrow. Life is a bit hectic just now and I'm majorly jet lagged hence the reason I'm posting a comment at five to five in the morning. I should really sleep. I have last minuet school shopping to do tomorrow! Night- Night

Hey Everyone. Im so sorry I haven't posted in a while. I feel terrible. I was really busy and then yesterday I got rushed to A&E cause I smacked my foot on the steps in my back garden. I lost my big toe-nail. My toe is all mangled

It's really yucky and it means I can't play my tennis matched and I've had to forfeit the game. I cryed all last night. And ofcourse us poor wee scottish ladies were back to school today

We're poor wee souls. I feel terrible. I hope to post soo. It's read to be postedd, it's just finding time and then a time where I'm also able to reply but life is pretty hectic just now but we all have times like that. A question for everyone...

Apart from the Harry Potter books, whats your favourite book??? I'm just noesy

Umm, let's see... I have many actually... I love the Mortal Instruments Series and of course the Twilight series... And I love The Last Song and The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks... There's probably more, but I'll just give you the shortened list

My new avourite book is Nineteen Minuets by Joid Picoult . My mums got me reading all her books. I'm an adict!

. I'd really recommend it. It's a good read.

Hello everyone else, I was with Sophie today, she really is a poor wee lamb. She's in alot of pain and had a busy night lastnight.

Favourite book???? Good question, I have many!!

Harry Potter(Order of the Phoenix), Twilight(Eclipse is my favourite), The Immortals Series, War Horse by Michael Morpurgo, Private Peaceful by Michael Murporgo.

Probably more. Really, war stories, romance, and anything that makes me cry

It would be easy though to make me cry. Right Soph???

Remember the first time I read New Moon and cried for nine hours cause Edward left. Then I refused to believe it at first so I kept on reading the chapter over and over again untill it sunk in. Then I phoned you and Juliette (our other bestie who we have currenty reading the HP Series-she's addicted) and you said it gets better so I didn't stop reading until he came back.

Hello Sophie. I'm ever so sorry you've hurt yourself. I can sympathize with you over your big toe. I lost mine once a few years ago. I was barefooted and I went out and called our dog. He came charging around the house and put the skidds on before he got to me, but, his front toe nail slid up under the wick of mine. Needless to say it got infected and I lost the nail. I love to read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's hard to pick out a fovorite. I think maybe the Eragon series by Christopher Paolini. It was s'pose to be a series of three, but, he decided he couldn't get all of it in the 3rd book, so he's going to have 4 books. I'm getting awful impatient too. He said it wouldn't be long and it's been forever!
Hope you get to feeling better really soon. You'll be winning tennis matches before you know it.

. I read the first Eragon book. I got it as part of a birthday present from this guy I used to be friends with and he loved it but I just couldn't get into it.
I won't get playing tennis cause Finals day is on Saturad and it was only the quarter finals

I said I could help out by umpiring though :/
Oh well...It just means I need to get really good for next year.

"So, how did it go then? Is he defeated yet?" I asked as I sat comfortably beside Harry with his arms wound around me.
"You’re kidding?" Ron asked as he yawned. "It’s going to take a lot more than that! That was the most bloody barbaric month of my life."
"Well, I'm so glad your home." I rejoiced. Isqueezed Harry tightly never wanting to let go then pulled his face down to mine and kissed him hungrily. I wouldn't usually kiss like that in front of anyone, but I had missed the feeling of the way his lips lingered on mine- I couldn't contain myself!
"Ginny," I looked up at Hermione. "Have you opened this yet, it’s from your mum?" She handed me two letters as she worked her way through the piles of parchment and newspaper on the coffee table. "Oh yeah Ron, mum said I've to give you a big hug and kiss from her. And there’s been a bit of bad news. Errol died."
"Aww, no way. We've had him for so long too. He was part of the family!" he seemed saddened by the news.
"And Harry, sorry but I used Hedwig instead. It was only once."
"That’s ok Gin, I don't mind." I thought maybe he would mind but I think he was too happy to see me to say anything.
We stayed up half the night catching up. There were many sweet stolen kisses from Harry into the early hours of the morning. Ron would usually complain, but I got plenty of cuddles from him too. He sent and Owl to mum that night saying they were back safe and well.
That night, Harry asked what had happened with Dean and he wanted details. I wasn't sure if I was ready to think about it just yet. I just told him he barged in and he was angry at me for shouting at Lavender and refusing to be his friend. Ron was also quite happy, now knowing that he had not fathered a child though he did know it all along, but they were both angry at Dean and vowed they would see him in the morning. I must have fallen asleep in Harry's arms as the last thing I remembered was being lifted into my bed and having someone plat a kiss on my forehead before bidding me goodnight. I didn't like the feel of lips anywhere near me. It reminded me of Dean’s attack that had only taken place a few hours previous, though I put that to the back of my mind. I had happy dreams that night. I snuggled into Toby bear relieved that they were home safe and sound.
The next morning I found myself up bright and early despite the late night. I felt rather refreshed after a long time in the shower, though I still made it in plenty time for breakfast. I walked into the great hall with Hermione. She isn't stupid and asked what really happened last night before they came back. I managed to hold back tears and she told me that I should speak to a teacher. I nodded my head to keep her happy. She was greeted with "welcome back" and hugs all around when we reached the hall. I noticed there was a face missing at the Gryffindor table - Dean Thomas. Harry and Ron joined us. They cheered for Harry who acted terribly modest at the appeased Gryffindors and told them it was a joint effort which it may well have been but after all Harry is the chosen one. I was munching on my toast when someone coughed behind me to get my attention. "Oh hi Proffessor." I said
"Ah yes Miss Weasley. Could you could come to my office second period today? I believe you are off then." Professor McGonagall asked.
"Yeah sure Professor." I said bye to everyone and made my way to first period Herbology - not the best way to start the day. After class I made my way to Professor McGonagall's office. I climbed the deserted steps and along the corridor to the teachers office's. Two arms snaked they're way around my waist and hugged and soft lips kissed my cheek the strong arms picking me up slightly and squeezing me tight. I jumped and struggled free of the tight grasp. I turned around to face the stranger pointing my wand at them. "Gin, it's only me." Harry said moving slowly closer to me.
"Well Harry, don't sneak up on me like that!" My heart was beating terribly fast, bringing back bad memories I wished to forget.
"Ginny I'm sorry if I scared you." He apologised, snaking his arm around my waist for a second time. I tried to manoeuvre myself out of his arms. He obliged and let me go. "I went to get you after class but you had already left and I thought you might want me to come with you?"
I smiled at him. "Yeah that would be good." At the door of Professor McGonagall's office, He turned to me and said "Everything will be fine Ginny, I'm here now. Nothing bad will ever happen to you." He cupped my cheek in his big soft hand. Again, I just smiled. He leaned down for a full on kiss, but I turned my head and instead he kissed my cheek. I didn't feel like being kissed. I realised I had offended him and I gently placed a kiss on his forehead. He smiled and looked deep into my eyes. "You know I love you, Ginny?"
" Yeah I know. I love you too, Harry"

Post 32
Dean Thomas had been expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. That was what Professor McGonagall wanted to tell me. Aparrently, Dean had confessed it all to her and she just wanted to reassure me that everything would be ok.
Halloween was approaching and I felt terribly distant from Harry. I knew this was a hard time for him so at breakfast on Saturday morning, as we were just about to leave, I held my hand out for him and said "Come take a walk with me, Harry." He smiled and took my hand, our fingers intertwined. I lead him straight out of the school grounds. The cold autumn winds scratched my face in the huge gusts. Harry had his scarf hung casually over his neck and once we reached the lake he took it off and put it around my neck, and pulled me towards him. I fell into his warm embrace and smiled into the crook of his neck inhaling his scent. I smiled at Harry who bent down to kiss me. I went back to burying my face in his neck. "Ginny, what's up?" He asked smoothing out my hair.
"Nothing. Is something supposed to be up?"
"Actually, yes. You won't let me kiss you. I'm beginning to think you've gone off me. I think since I've come back, I've kissed you...once on the lips, and that was the night I first came back.".
"Harry, if I'd gone off you, I wouldn't have asked you to come a walk with me now would I. In fact I wouldn't be here. I would have got shot of you long ago."
"That doesn't answer my question, Gin."
"You really want to know?" He nodded for me to continue "Harry, I've only told Hermione this and it’s too late to get angry but when I said Dean attacked me that night, I don't mean as in hitting or punching me, I mean an indecent attack. Do you know what I mean by that?" His face drained of colour. He cupped my face in his soft hands. I hated remembering that night, yet it should have been a happy time, one where Harry and I could rejoice as it had been so long since we had been close together, too long since we felt our arms around each other and too long since we had felt loved by one another. He nodded his head as I could feel my eyes well up with tears. "But you know what? I managed to escape. It never got any further. I feel so much better that I've told you this. We can go back to the way we were before."
"Ginny, why didn't you tell me sooner? He'll never hurt you again. I'll be here for you, don't worry." He hugged me close.
"But that’s the thing; you'll be leaving again soon. And I'll be left behind-again." I sobbed into his coat
"Maybe not this time." He whispered into my hair. I looked up to meet his gaze. He leaned forwards and closed the space between our faces. Our lips brushed against each other and moved in together. It was the first proper kiss I've had from him in a long time. I didn't feel scared anymore. I was safe in Harry's arms and totally, blissfully in love.
We walked around the lake once and started the ascent to the castle. "Harry?" I said swinging our arms.
"Yes Ginny?" He smiled.
"I don't know but isn't your parents anniversary at the end of the month?" I asked him softly. He looked at me and without saying anything he nodded his head.
"Well I thought you might want to visit they're grave. If you like I could come with you, but only if you want me there and only if you want to go?" He stopped in his tracks and hugged me. I felt something damp against my cheek. Maybe he was crying? I never looked up. I hugged him back hoping that he was alright. I could only try to understand how he was feeling and support him as much as I could at this hard time. We must have stood there for hours, but I didn't mind. It was the weekend anyway, and it wasn't as if Ron and Hermione were expecting us. They had the Halloween Ball to plan.

So there you go! Tell me what you think. I'm sorry again. It won't happen again either!

Hey everyone. To answer your PM question, it was just that my Internet died on me and wouldn't respond. Tonight I'll take a note of those who haven't read the post yet cause I know there's a few of you who like to be PM'ed It was just that when I post I open two tabs so the second the post has been posted, I post the PM straight after.
But I'll fix that...

Hello Sophie, I didn't get my notice till just this morning. But, it's fine. I saw that you posted. It's just that I'm just now able to get around to commenting.
You wrote a very very good chapter here Sophie. I was so afraid Ginny would be emotionally injured, and unable to even want Harry around. But then you wrote this:

Hermione and I sat around the coffee table on Friday morning. Unfortunately for me, I had to go to class and lucky Harry, Ron and Hermione had the rest of the day to laze about as they had agreed to come back next year instead. Ron and Harry the luck pair, got to sleep in, though Hermione - the star that she is - had made me a role and bacon for breakfast. I scoffed it down as my own culinary skills weren't really up to scratch. I really should do something about that! But the last time I felt like sausages, typically mum was out doing food shopping and I was in alone. Also being an underage witch, I'm not allowed to use magic at home so I ended up gassing the sausages and kitchen. Then mum didn't know how to handle it and ended up casting all sorts of spells.
I brushed my teeth quickly not wanting to be late but I caught a glimpse of Harry's room door. I tip-toed over to the sleeping beauty and brushed his hair from his face and kissed his cheek softly. As I turned to walk away, something caught my hand and spun me around.
"Ginny." Harry groaned half awake. "Did you really think you could have got away that lightly?" He asked then pulled me down beside him. He wound his arms around me and I snuggled up to him. His thumb traced tiny circles on my cheek.

"I've got to go. I'm going to be late for class." I complained getting up and untangling myself from him.

"Hey! Not so fast." He caught my hands and placed them around his body. One of his hands cupped my cheek, the other on the small of my back, softly pressing me against him. His lips met mine and lingered there for a few seconds taking in sensation. My lips tingled against his as I slowly pulled away, though he kept on leaning in for more. I giggled quietly to myself though I could feel a smile forming on his lips too.

"Ok seriously!" I gasped before he silenced me with yet another kiss "I've..." and another "got to..." and another "go!" I gave him a stern look. "Are you quite finished?" I asked him. He laughed. "I'll be back at lunch," I told him "which you could always make me? Hint, hint." I suggested with a smile.

"We'll see. Aren't you off second Period?" He looked at me waiting for an answer.

"Yes, but it's a study period Harry, in which you use to study believe it or not so I'll be in the library. You see, unlike you, I have exams this year which will determine whether or not I'll be coming back next year with you, Ron and Hermione."

"Ok," he said rolling his eyes. "Be good, I don't want any reports about you being a bad girl...because that is punishable."

It was my turn to roll my eyes. "Honestly Harry, you should hear yourself sometimes."

"Miss.Weasley," he called as I walked out the room "don't use that tone with me. You'll get nowhere with cheek like that!" He smirked, thinking he was funny, obviously.

I peeped my head back around the door. He was smiling to himself. "Harry. Two words, shut. Up." I grinned and winked at him and then he winked back. "I love you Harry!" I shouted on my way to the living room grabbing my wand and cloak on the way. "Love you too Gin."

At Lunchtime I walked along the corridor back to the dorm with Luna. I could smell something good. I opened the door to the dorm surprised to find a table set for two. Harry came out of the kitchen with an apron like my mums on, some kitchen utensil in one hand and his wand in the other. "Oh I didn't realise you invited a guest. Hi Luna. Let me set an extra place at the table." Luna laughed at him.

"It's ok Harry. I think Neville is expecting me anyway. I'll talk to you next period Ginny. It's only Muggle Studies anyway." She let herself out before I could object.

"I feel terrible!" I told Harry.

"Well please don't." He said coming up behind me and rubbing my shoulders. "Because according to Neville when I was speaking to him this morning and as far as he was concerned, he was meeting Luna for lunch, so really, I've done them a favour."

"Where were you talking to Neville?" I asked.

"I went back to the Gryffindor common room, you know, just to see everyone. And then the three of us had tea with Dumbledore. And then Ron and Hermione had Halloween ball stuff to do, so I went out on my broom for a bit. Ron wasn't happy though," he said shaking his head, "he told Hermione that he wanted to go flying with me and he didn't want to plan a ball that in his words he won't even enjoy so what’s the point!" I laughed and wrapped my arms around Harry, resting my head on his chest. I pulled the cord on the apron and it fell of his body. I caught it before it hit the floor and held it up for him.

"I doubt you need this but I like a domestic man that can make me nice things, ‘cause I'm hopeless in the kitchen." I smiled and he pressed his lips to mine softly.

"Well good job you picked me then." He grinned running his fingers through my hair. He took my hand and led me to the table. He pulled out a seat for me like a gentleman and then kissed my head on his way back into the tiny kitchen. He brought out a plate of food- chicken, roasted potatoes and carrots.

"You know Harry when I said this morning 'make me lunch' I was only kidding. You shouldn't have gone to all this bother."

"It's never any bother for my best girl." He told me putting the plate in front of me. I felt like a princess as he kissed my cheek and sat across the long table from me.
