He'd gone off to the crafts place and painted a lot of things. Of course, his mother was way better and she was right there showing off her cool talents, but it was okay with Lucian. His mom was the best artist in the world and he only hoped to be that one day. At the moment, though, his mother was painting the face of a lion on his dad's face and they were laughing and being all cute and stuff.
Yuuuuuck!
With a roll of his eyes the curly haired boy wandered off to the rest area. He was hungry. And thirsty. Lucian spotted what appeared to be the last seat. He raced to it and just when he thought it was going to be his a girl sat on it. He looked at her as if she'd just slapped him, then pouted.
"That was the last seeeeat," he whined.
Kat had bought a glass of exploding lemonade before she went to take a seat. She didn't get out of the house and buy all these nice food all the time, you know. And plus, they didn't have exploding lemonade in their house unless it was a special occasion like her nephew's birthday party or a family reunion or something of that sort. Maybe today was different compared to the other Diagon Alley events as well, seeing that there were a LOT of food that Kat has never even heard of prior to now. She wasn't hungry though so she'd just settle with lemonade.
That's right. Kat could definitely feel the summer vibes. Well, sort of?
Oh... she actually took the last seat? Maybe she did. There were a lot of people here. Kat looked up at the person who had whined a bit. Awwwww, what a cutie. He was tiny and Kat could tell he looked like a firstie. "You could sit on my seat if you want?" she offered. That was really nice of her, right? Right?
... She could sit on the grass instead. Hah.

"That's it," Sky replied. Of course, it wasn't immediately recognizable as an eating establishment since it didn't have tables in the courtyard for people to eat at, but she guessed that was because of the wall with it's 'doorway' to the muggle world. Would be a tripping hazard.
Well there you had it, learnt something new every day. "Well it's... beautiful," he added, awkwardly. He never felt comfortable complimenting people, as if they thought he had an agenda in doing so. Which he didn't. No agenda here...
It was pleasing though, that Sky confirmed the establishment was indeed what he was looking for. He felt foolish though, having past it numerous times already. How long had he been wandering the alley, he didn't know, but he felt relieved now that he was seated and had a clear sense of direction. "Thank you, you have no idea how much it pleases me," Tibi smiled, bowing his head slightly out of respect. He would have offered to make it up to the woman, but he didn't have anything to offer. "Are you enjoying the festivities then?" he asked conversationally, almost wondering where her friends were.

Marigold wandered aimlessly around to the rest spot. She looked around for a seat but couldn't really find one, so she just stood awkwardly. Brushing aside a strand of her hair, she saw a few people from Hogwarts that she knew by face. She smiled at them, not knowing if they saw her, then just sighed and relaxed.

Laura was walking down Diagon Alley, she wanted to be a mother to someone she was now going into her sixth year and it was about time she passed on her knowledge to someone else, she was going to find someone who was really good maybe a first or a second year.
Laura suddenly saw Marigold and smiled, she would be perfect, she was a Hufflepuff and she was only a second year so it was the perfect age to teach them, she decided that she would adopt her, she quickly walked up to her and smiled.
"Hey Marigold." Laura beamed this was just going to be interesting. "I'm adopting you okay." Laura didn't even wait for an answer from Marigold she just smiled before continue. "Okay, right that's settled then, I'll teach you everything I know."

For a moment Lucian thought she was going to offer him her lap -- which would have been funny, but he wouldn't sit on it because he was eleven now. He wasn't a baby. Instead she offered him her seat. Had it not been for his father's chivalrous manners he'd taught Lucian, the young boy wouldn't have cared if Miss Blondie sat on the ground. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.
"Nah, it's okay," he said with a shrug. "But we can share the seat." Like, half and half. He sure didn't mind sharing with her. He blew his hair out of his face, some strands of hair stained with paint from finger painting. He wore it as if it was normal, which it sort of was for him.
As he waited for her answer he studied the girl's drink. Lucian had absolutely no stranger anxiety, so it was easy for him to talk confidently to anyone. Especially when he was curious. He asked, "What are you drinking?" And did she have more?

Yeah, the grass. It wasn't as comfortable as sitting on an actual chair with a cushion, but it was better than not sitting on anything at all. Although it felt like the grass was poking her butt. At least the kiddo can sit properly. Surprisingly, Kat was in a good mood since she could feel the vibes that came along with that summer feeling. Offering her seat didn't seem as 'ugh' as she would usually feel. Especially from such an adoooooraaableeee kid. Look at his face, people. What an angel.
Share seat? Hmm. Maybe that was okay, if they could fit in a chair at least. Didn't seem like either of them had a big butt right? "Well, okay then," Kat shrugged and scooted a bit, leaving the boy space to sit. They could fit, yeah. Hopefully. Butt-squishing would happen though.
Seems like the boy had lots of questions. If it wasn't for her good mood today, this would probably annoy Kat a little. Curious minds. "It's exploding lemonade," she said. And it taste good, did he know? "You want to try?" Kat offered. See? She was sharing.

Henry had been waiting for a moment, just innocently minding his own business, when the opportunity struck. Quick as a flash, with nimble little fingers, he dipped into the man's pocket and took his wallet.
And then he darted off.

She's a people person, Marci. Can be a bit too loud for some," Like old grandfathers such as himself. "But she has the biggest heart." He smiled and gave her one last proud look.
"Hot doesn't even describe it. It's only the summer weather that makes you uncomfortable sometimes, but everything else is brilliant. My sons and their families gather there, my daughter sometimes makes it too, and we all have some great family time." He paused, a new happy sparkle in his eyes showing how much he loved that time of the year.
Oh an okay summer only? Abraham nodded to Leobald. "I forgot to bring some coffee when I passed the refreshment avenue. Would you like some too?" He held the cane and was ready to struggle to be up on his feet.
Pie contest!
A memory of a pie contest from his youth flooded into his brain which caused Leo to smile wide as he responded. "Pie contests are always fun to watch and compete in. I was quite good at in my youth. I could always eat a ton of pies which infuriated my sisters to no end." He finished with a grin. Folding his hands in his lap his eyes darted over briefly to where the pie contest was being organized. Turning to his friend as he spoke again Leo said. "I haven’t made my annual stop to Madam Malkins yet, so maybe i'll meet Marci then. She works there now, full time?"
"I’m happy you had such a lovely summer with your family in Egypt even if the hot weather was a bit too hot." Leo smiled. "My summer was okay; I got to spend time with my family, especially my sisters and my nephew Lucas that I don’t see much during the school year. We had a lovely crayfish get together outside in my parent’s back yard. Ever tried crayfish before?"
"I'd like a coffee too. Sit, I’ll go buy the coffee for us." Leo got to his feet and left the rest spot and Abraham to find the Refreshment’s table.
She couldn't remember how long it had been since she'd arrived in Diagon Alley, but before she'd done anything other than the basic shopping for school Kahlan was already exhausted and honestly found herself wondering what she could do next.
Sighing she took a seat as she looked around where she was...
The carousel might be interesting?
Or maybe taking part in the pie eating contest... though considering her white shirt she wasn't sure if she really wanted to...
Despite that she was really hoping that now that she was finally back in England that she might see someone she actually knew...
This whole DA thing was FUN, but it was also very exhausting. Having spent two full days there, Forrest was tired to his last cell and craved for somewhere to sit. He could barely drag himself to the closest seat and plopped down with a loud sigh. Seeing him, one would think he had run 10 miles non-stop. But in fact, he had only run EVERYWHERE on the fair, and after two days, he had participated in every activity.
After catching his breath, he looked around and saw he was sharing the table with...
"KAHLAN, YO!" He grinned and jumped in his seat to face her fully. "Such a coincidence, eh? How're ya? How's summer? Seen around the fair?" He was ELATED to see his first friend, he was!

After spending most part of the day perusing the festival shops and then visiting the magical petting zoo, Braeby needed a rest. Braeden, especially, after he'd been chased around the festival by an angry acromantula that caught him petting one of its babies. How was he supposed to know the baby acromantula wasn't part of the petting zoo, though?! Perhaps the fact that it wasn't in a cage should've rang some warning bells.
Braeden set down his tray on the table and proceeded to sit with one of those giddy, lopsided smiles he always had when he was about to stuff his face with food. He'd gotten two hot dogs with cheese and crushed chips, large fries, a slice of apple pie, a chocolate bar, and an ice cream cup. Don't ask me how he remained so scrawny.
"I needed this!" declared the goofball merrily as he began to stuff his face, sending bits of food flying all over the place.

Flinching Turning around at the sound of the familiar voice, a grin covering her face as she caught sight of Forrest, managing to stop herself from shaking her head but a bit of laughter she couldn't control at the sight of him for two main reasons:
1. She was really happy to see him
2. The Hufflepuff was just as the blonde remembered him to be, overly hyper despite looking tired, as if he was about to pass out
"I'm great, how have you been?" she asked happily, though a bit quieter than he had been earlier on. "Yeah me summer's been pretty good, back at home with family and all, though we did end up goin' to America for a few weeks. How about yours? And well... I don't think I've seen too much of the fair to be honest... today's the first day that I've been" she admitted, looking down for a moment as she fiddled with one of the sides of her suspenders.
"So have you been here for long?" she continued, almost knowing the answer by just looking at how worn out the boy was. "What was your favourite part of it so far? Done your school shopping yet?" Kahlan added the last part mockingly, throwing a wink at him. Admittedly she'd already done all of her shopping, but that was because her mother had planned out the day to go shopping with the whole family.

Forrest breathed heavily--he had spoken way too much--and once his initial excitement was over, just smiled at her.
"I've been GREAT," he said as if she couldn't have guessed that. He then kept quiet throughout her summary, and leaned forward with interest.
"U.S. of America? That's so cool!" He wished he could go there too. Well, one day he would. "Mine's been nice too. I won the argument to stay here against my father." So, needless to say, he was proud with that achievement. "My mum and I are staying with my aunts here in London." It was obvious he enjoyed staying at their house. "Yeah I've seen everything around. The Carousel is my favourite though. You ride dragons 'n' hippogriffs. You need worry not! I'm done with my shopping, so we can conquer this fair together again." He grinned widely, his tiredness forgotten. He even decided to make the first move and got up.
"C'mon. Let's play around before it's closed for the day."

Ruby was TIRED. Her feet, which had been previously strapped in gorgeous black heels, were now bare as she plopped down at the table Brae had chosen. It didn't even occur to her that dirty people had walked and probably spit on the ground that her feet had trodden on; she just needed a break. Sighing, she put her shoes beside her and placed her hands under her chin.
"Please don't eat like a pig," She said to the Goofball, her brain too tired to realized she actually said the word please. She'd plead with him but at this point, she just wanted to nap, and Brae's shoulder was looking more than comfortable. After being dragged around to every possible vendor at the festival and even visiting the stupid ZOO, Ruby had had enough.
Józsua was enjoying his time in Diagon Alley. He had fully believed before he arrived here that the muggle parts of London would appeal to him the most, but Diagon had been a pleasant surprise. The hustle and bustle and now this festival. Although, right now, he was a loner, not knowing anyone bar his Aunt in this country, he was happy with it. Just being alone and soaking up the atmosphere.
His stomach had taken him to the food area where he had purchased a large burger with extra cheesy cheese-cheese goodness. Perfect for a growing fifteen year old boy. Food was his most favourite thing in this world after family. The bottomless pit of a boy was always hungry, always on the hunt for more food.
He was sitting at one of the picnic tables under a parasol and was busy tucking into his large lunch when he sensed someone sit opposite him. He looked up slowly from his burger to look them.
“….”
His chewing slowed and slowed some more.. annnnd slowed some more and finally stopped. He swallowed thickly as his eyes remained on the girl sitting oposite him.
“..Lina..?”
He spoke at last, his voice leaving him a weak croak.
Adelina... Lina. ..The BUTTON girl? Lovely Lina. ..Lina Lina bo bina bonana fanna fo FINA!?
What in MERLIN's name was she doing here?
Was someone close by?
Adelina wasn't really focused on her nearby surroundings. Her eyes were dazed and far, far away into the crowd of people moving and walking this way and that way. Her senses they were tingly though and a certain button popped in her mind.
The button that was rotting..slightly and slowly. Slightly and slowly.
Jozsua.
Her head swerved from her food and just like that she understood the sudden thought of the button. Opposite her, just before the crowd was the boy in her mind. He spoke of her name..well her shortened name weakly and even that had her concerned. He was a dear person, he just had to be careful of rotting.
"Joszua. It is you? You are not in Paris or with Enre at home?" Her forehead creased as she looked at him.

Braeden flashed Ruby an apologetic smile and tried to slow down his eating for a painfully-long three seconds before just going back to being a mess. He couldn't help it, he was starving.
And speaking of starving… The boy paused for a moment to raise an eyebrow at his redheaded friend. "Aren't you going to eat anything, Bubs?" He'd only then realized the girl hadn't gotten any food. "Want anything from my tray?" But all that was left on Braeden's tray was a chocolate bar and a half-finished ice cream cup. Poor Bubs. She looked like hell.
Yeah, the grass. It wasn't as comfortable as sitting on an actual chair with a cushion, but it was better than not sitting on anything at all. Although it felt like the grass was poking her butt. Lucian scooted over and sat at the edge of the chair. More room for the lady, y'know. That's what his dad does anyway. He's always opening doors and taking out chairs for his mother. Not that he wanted to be completely like his dad. His dad was a professor. Nothing Lucian was interested in.
He grinned up at Miss Blondie. "Does it really explode? Like, when you sip it?" Would his teeth fall off if he tried it? Or his tongue? Either way, he nodded at her. "Yeah!" Pleeeeeeeeease.
"Oh, I'm Lucian, by the way." Just so she wasn't sharing with a complete stranger.
Yeah, exactly, Aidan probably didn't believe her. Hopefully this apology will be the last one she'll have to give him and she'll be able to keep her word. It couldn't be easy to be in his position, anyway. She wouldn't know.
We're really sorry, though.
Oh? The beach? Well, Lex did not inform Lottie of this. Odd. "You did? Where to?" We're trying this friendly thing and see where it goes. But then Aidan asked about her summer. Her summer included Ascanius, did Aidan really want to know? She supposed she could skip his name, pretend stuff never happened and whatnot. Unless there was nothing wrong with mentioning the guy, right? She didn't have to make comparisons or anything, but it was just so incredibly HARD. "I've stayed in London the whole time so far. Kind of." Muggle London, mostly, though there have been those occasional days in Diagon, like today. "Been hanging out with friends, you know? Lex, Cassia, Tag, Ascanius...," there, she only had to mention him.
"My brother is starting Hogwarts this September." Lottie didn't know why she said it, but, oh well.
"I don't know," he shrugged. "I say I want to go to the beach and my sister - her boyfriend, actually - takes us there. And he said I could take Lex, too, so I did." It was good having connections like that. To people who apparated you places. And bought you food. And other things.
Aidan expected her to be finished right there. She stayed in London. Okay. That was enough, really. He could assume the friends thing on his own. And, of course Lex was in the mix. But...Ascanius? The Ravenclaw froze for a second.
Lottie was friends with Ascanius. Like friends friends. Like the kind you hang out with out of Hogwarts. In the summer.
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHH.
He tried to play it cool, but obviously tensed up. It was a good thing Lottie changed the subject, because he couldn't think of anything to say. But even then, she just killed his mood. "...Cool."

Well, see? They both could fit in a chair. Kat wasn't exactly bothered with sharing a seat with someone because this was a young boy. What could she do? She did offer to sit on the grass but yeah, she didn't like the feeling of it. So she was pretty contented with a tiny weeny bit of butt-squishing. Good thing the seat was a bit big than a regular one. She doubt that they would fit if they were seated on a regular chair.
Explode? The name was sort of misleading. "Not really. It's like sparkling water to me, but with a little bit of lemonade." Oh, so he was gonna try it? Kat contemplated of that, making sure she wouldn't regret letting a stranger sip from her drink. But that all faded away because he was a cutie. "Course, here you go." She offered her glass to him. Just don't finish up the whole glass, yeah?
Kid must be a mind reader. "I'm Katrina. Nice to meet you." the Slytherin said, smile on her face. "Are you going to Hogwarts this term?" 'Cause if he was, you know.... he had to be a Slytherin. Come and join the snake pit, fella.

Don't accept drinks from strangers, his mother's voice chimed in his ears. Lucian looked at Miss Blondie, who introduced herself as Katrina. She didn't look like a kidnapper. More like an angel. Y'know, with her blonde hair and all. Not that he's seen real angels, just in the paintings his mother painted for buyers. This chick looked like one of them. Besides, they introduced themselves, so it wasn't like they were complete strangers.
Lucian threw caution to the wind.
"Oh, so it isn't going to blow off my teeth," he said, with a hint of disappointment. It would have been cool. Like Pepper Imps that made steam come out of your ears. Now that awesome. He took the glass and sipped it. It was like sparkling water, but tasted like lemonade. "Hey, not bad. I guess it's a good thing it didn't blow up my teeth," he said and handed it back. "Thanks." BEAM.
Lucian rubbed his hands on his jeans to make sure he didn't have paint on them still and extended his hand at Katrina. "Nice meeting you. Nice name you got. Like, fierce. Ka-tri-na." Rawr. Was he going to Hogwarts? Umm..."Yeah! Mum wanted me to go to Durmstrang, but Dad was all "he should go to Hogwarts," so yeah," the eleven-year-old rambled. "I'm going. What about you? You go there?" She looked old enough to.
She was slightly hungry but a quick glance at Brae's tray made her stomach clench. She certainly wasn't interested in food that he had already put his spit all over. Shaking her head at the Goofball, Ruby gathered her hair into a ponytail and secured it with an elastic.
"Hurry up and finish though, I'm ready to go home," She said, trying to hold back a yawn with no luck. She didn't bother to cover her mouth with her hand, either, even though she scolded Brae for not being mannered. Rules were only for him, duh. Slowly, her head drooped to the side, and her eyes were suddenly half-closed. Surely a five-minute nap wouldn't be too bad while she waited for Brae to finish his food, right? So the redhead let her head fall against Brae's arm (since his shoulder was too high up) and slipped into blissful sleep.
