This seemed like a good place to start, Oskar thought with a little help from Darwin pointing frantically in the direction of the massive building. He wanted to laugh at his little brother for forgetting his money the previous day when he'd been here with his friend, but he couldn't blame him - the boy was excitable at silly things; this - well, this was making the sixteen year olds head spin.

And he was jealous, of course he was - what wouldn't he give to be the one spending all this money today, getting a wand? He shook the thoughts away as he approached the Teller Window, and hesitantly pulled out a wad of notes. "Er, am I in the right place to, uh, exchange something? Er, 100 pounds, please?"

WOWZER. This was so cool, and Darwin hadn't seen this part of the bank; he'd been down to the vaults with Brookie and her mum the day before, but this was something else. This was getting his own! golden coins! Well, his parents, but STILL! It was for him to spend, and he couldn't wait.

He was oblivious to his older brothers jealousy, the confusion on his face, as he took in his surroundings, goggling at the Goblins wandering around, and at the piles of weird money that lay behind the windows. Spinning back around as his brother began to speak, Darwin hurried to catch him up, shoving his hand into his pocket as he went and pulling out four grubby coins.

"One hundred and FOUR pounds." he corrected as he put the money down, grin on his face. "Please." He added, at his brothers glance.

Salima walked closer to the window and placed the bag full of muggle money and said 'I would like to exchange 960 british pounds please'.

Bok was ready for work today. The sun was shining, the bank was running smoothly and she wasn't sick! That was the best thing. She climbed up into her seat and lifted the gate to her window. "Can I help you?" she asked the young man and the little boy. Bok took the money from the older boy and weighted it out. "And that will be 20 galleons 23 sickles and 17 knuts. With 7 sickles for the exchange you will 16 sickles." she explained dumping all the money into a gringotts bag.

Bok nodded and took the bag to count out the muggle money. She didn't understand how they could use paper money. Where was the value? "That's 192 galleons and with the 5 galleon exchange fee thats 187 galleons." she explained dumping the money into the gringotts bag for the girl.

Bok smiled down at the little girl as she walked up to her window. "Good afternoon." she always liked to make the little ones less scared. For some reason they think goblins are bad creatures. Bok wasn't bad. She took the notes and weighted them out. "5 galleons." she announced counting out the gold and putting them into a bag for the girl. "Here you go." Things were going swimmingly.

'Thanks' Salima said taking the money from the Goblin. She then looked at her list while walking out of the bank. 'So now I have 222 galleons 2 sickels and 1 knut. I should get my books first.' She thought. Salima left the bank walking towards Flourish and Blotts.

charlotte smiled at him he seemed nice thank you she said would it be possiable to excange £100 more pounds in muggle money please?

Darwin could not care LESS that these people that ran the bank weren't exactly people; for him, it just added to the excitement of the Wizarding World. He rolled his eyes at Oskar in what he thought was a very grown up manner, shaking his head in disbelief. Could he not just get the money so that they could GO, and SHOP?

The child that never wanted to go to the supermarket with his mum was actually overjoyed to be shopping, for once.

He wanted a wand, already.

And his robes, and potions stuff, and whatever else he needed for Hogwarts. But mainly his wand, so that he could do spells. "Thank you," he grinned, taking the bag from the goblin and then tugging at Oskars arm. They needed to go.

Oskar just could not get used to this. The idea that these... well, whatever they were, they were not human, and the fact that they ran a bank was an odd thing for him to get his head around. As was the fact that his camera, which had been seemingly working when they'd been on Charing Cross road, had just shut off.

He refused to believe that it was because of the magic, though - nah, it'd be some technical difficulty.

Watching her take the gold, silver and bronze coins, he started. "Oh er... thanks," he managed, forcing a smile so as not to seem rude. What WERE those things? They certainly weren't normal coins, that was for sure. "You couldn't, uh, tell me which ones are which?"

Bok smiled and waved the little girl out the door. Another satisfied customer.

Bok nodded and smiled down at the little girl. "Of course it would be." she told her taking the money to weight it on the scales. "That's going to be 20 galleons," she dumped the money into her gringotts bag and handed it over to the girl.

Bok smiled at the young man. "Muggle are you?" she asked. They never understood metal money. Even their own money made no sense. She pulled out a galleon, a sickle and a knut. "Ok this big gold one is a galleon. The highest denomination of money. This silver one is a sickle. 17 sickles will give you one galleon. And this little bronze one is a knut and its 29 knuts to one sickle." Bok explained slowly and clearly so he would understand. She rather enjoyed being helpful andinformative.

"Go on honey," Nicole said encouragingly, standing a little away from the teller. She held her younger daughter, April's left hand while her older daughter Tayla held April's other hand. "We'll wait here."

Matthew nodded and faced the goblin at the teller window. "Excuse me," Matthew started to say. He was more nervous than he let on, being the Muggle in the family. But he didn't want his wife and children to think he'll forever be scared of goblins. He pulled out a brown envelope and put it on the counter. "I'd like some Canadian dollars exchanged please...That's 1,000 Canadian dollars."

He paused for a while before asking.

"Erm...is there a maximum amount I can exchange? I'm a lawyer...and...well...not sure you know what that is but...erm...well my wife and kids are all witches and...I guess I'd like most of what I earn exchanged to...your kind of money."

Matthew cleared his throat.

"Idiot...rambling on...lawyer for crying out loud..." he thought to himself.

Bok smiled and nodded as the man approached her window. "How can I help you?" she asked sweetly. She took the Canadian money and took a few moments to study it. She had never come across it before. She wondered it Tumplin would let her keep it.

SHe dumped the money on the weights and balanced it. "So that's 93 galleons, 9, sickles and 7 knuts." she told him happily as she dumped the money into a gringotts bag. She smiled at him. "Goblin I may be but I am familier with the term." she told him. "Well you would have to set up a vault with one of the North American Gringotts branches. But you would have to exchange the money manually. Muggles use those computer gadgets for most of their banking. Too much magic in the air for us to do that I'm afraid." she explained. Not that goblins were keen on anymore human encroachments than they already had.

Matthew smiled. This was one of the nicest goblins he had ever met, not that he talked to many. But most of them were...not as pleasant.

"Thank you," he said. "I think my wife knows more about the...wizarding areas back there. She works as a doctor - a healer I mean. Anyway...I'll tell her about it..."

Matthew took the coins from the counter. It was heavier than he expected. "Oh...and is it possible to, erm...wire...the money from the North American Gringotts to this branch?" he felt silly for asking. Maybe he should have let Nicole take care of all this. "I'm sorry...I'm not very sure how it works around here."

While waiting for the goblin to answer, Matthew suddenly wondered if it would be better to move the family to London. Nicole was after all British. It might be easier for her and for the kids...

Bok nodded. "Yes its possible to transfer money from a North American branch to this branch. We can manage that." she told him with a smile. "Oh its alright we got a lot of muggle parents in here. No trouble at all." She was happy to help.

Matthew nodded. "Thank you! You've been very helpful." He smiled at the goblin once more and then walked towards his wife and children. It was almost time to go shopping.

Emmaline, or more preferably Emma, walked into Gringotts Wizarding Bank. She needed to exchange her familiar British currency with wizard currency. So, tucking a strand of dark blonde hair behind her ear, she stepped up to a counter to wait for someone to help her.

Tex looked up from her log at the sound of footsteps. Ah. It was a witch child. She set her quill down. "Yes? What can I do for you?" asked the goblin.

"Um, yes, I'd like to exchange my money for wizard money," she replied. She had to get more because she used up her money for last term. Books and uch didn't come cheap. She handed over 30 tenners which would come out to 300 pounds.

Kirie cautiously walked into Gringotts, her jacket pulled tightly around her. First time here, and she was terrified. Her parents, being muggles, were a little to scared to come. So they left her at Diagon Alley, and told her to meet up a nearby place... Her hair was in a pony-tail, and she tugged on it nervously. She walked up to the counter, a pink wallet in her hands. She set it down carefully, and swept her blonde hair back in an attempt to look less afraid. "Excuse me?" She asked timidly.
She had about 2,000 US dollars, counted in mostly hundreds but a few twenties. Pulling out that much money, be in a bank or not, wasn't smart in the least. So she kept her little wallet shut, and waited for a tell.

Tex accepted the money from the human girl. She then carefully counted the British pounds. There were 300 in all. That would make the conversion easier. After a few mental math calculations, Tex began counting out the young witch's galleons.

"Three hundred Muggle British Pounds converts to 60 Galleons." she explained. "The six percent conversion rate comes to 3 Galleons, 10 Sickles, and 5 knuts."

She then slid across the table an even 57 Galleons. "However, I don't enjoy counting out the lesser coins. You're welcome." Tex found it easier just dealing with the gold Galleons. This saved the young witch money. And they said that goblins weren't nice and fair!

Tex drummed her long goblin fingers against the desk. Ah, yes. So begins the rush of the Hogwarts students. She carefully looked over the next student in line. "Yes? What can I do for you?" she asked.

"I would like to exchange my muggle money for... Um... Wizarding money." She said, with a shy smile. What did you call money wizard-folk used? She didn't know... This was all new to her. She opened her wallet, and took out the money. The little witch had to stand on her tip toes to reach the counter, "2,000 dollars in US currency." She told the teller. Sliding it across the counter to the goblin. Kirie was intrigued by the woman's long fingers, and goblin-like features. She had read about goblins running Gringotts, but had found it hard to imagine a goblin. Now she knew what they looked like.

Emmaline smiled kindly at the goblin.
"Thank you very much," she said before turning to see Kirie Ravensdale, her friend from Year 1.
"Kirie! We should meet after you get your money and wand. I'll be going to Flourish and Blotts to purchase my books as I've already purchased robes and my wand."
Emmaline smiled and walked out of Gringotts.

From the moment that Sophie stepped into Gringotts, she couldn't help but feel at home. It was after all where she learned most of what she knew and she did still hold the place dear to her. She had thought walking back through those doors would be strange, but it wasn't at all awkward as she thought it could have been. She saw some familiar faces and nodded to them as she made her way to the teller window. She needed to exchange what was left of the American money she had and make a few trades before the market closed.

Seeing the line before her, she stepped up to the end of it and waited patiently as she flipped through the portfolio that she pulled from her bag. There were a few trades that she had her eye on and she hoped that she could get them done before the end of the day or risk a lose.

Emma, flushed, hurried into Gringotts. She'd miscalculated how much money she'd need for books and now she needed to exchange more. Se walked up to the counter again and waited for a teller to help.

Tex picked up the money and slowly began counting. Since there was a lot of money, this process took awhile. "2000 American Dollars." she confirmed. "That converts to... 198 Galleons, 10 Sickles, and 10 Knuts." she said after a brief pause. "The 6% conversion rate brings it down 11 Galleons, 15 Sickles, and 10 knuts. Which leaves you with 186 Galleons, 11 sickles, and 10 knuts."

Then Tex began counting out the coins. Once she was finished she slid it across the counter.

Tex nodded for the next person in like to step forward.

Tex carefully looked at the girl. Didn't she just help her earlier? Eh. No matter. As long as the girl made it quick.

Emmaline blushed a very deep red and handed the goblin more money; 900 quid to be exact.
"I'm sorry to be a bother again, but I've got many books to get," she rushed out, hoping she sounded polite still.

Sophie looked up from her portfolio and stepped up. The goblin didn't look familiar to her at all, but there were a number of goblins that she didn't knew during her time there and there was a possibility that a number of new ones were added to the staff. Setting her portfolio on down, she smiled. "Good day. I would like to exchange some American dollars and by change is their a broker in today. I would like to make some trades as well." If she remembered anything from her time there, it was that the goblins liked to get right down to business. No need for small talk at all. All business.
