The walls are high with bookshelves filled with books on both Magical and Muggle law. There's a plant on one of the shelves, a few pictures of Syd and a few big wig clients, and plenty of awards for excellence in prosecuting. The big desk stands at the back of the room, surrounded by shelves and there is a faint scent of honey in the air. | |

"Ah, yes the list. Well I say if Experimental Charms is workin' on it too, get together with their head and start workin' together. More heads on the case, the better," he said, getting up from his desk.
"As for Miss... Watson, was it? I'd say give her another day before sending an owl. She might be on holiday or somewhere without a good means to communicate," he said with a clasping of his hands. "Now if you'll excuse me, I've got an appointment of level six."
He gave Erin a small pat on the back and helped her out of the room before heading down the hall to the lifts. Hopefully they'd at least get someone to go after this Floor fellow... Hufflepuff seemed to be taking everyone out on the warehouse mission... | |

Alison walked to the Department Head's office. She felt that if he was the Department Head, she needed to introduce herself before the actual work began. She knocked three times and asked, "Hello? Mr. Wordsmith?" She said, peeking her head in.

"I just felt that I had to familiar myself with you." She kept the tone light, surveying the office. There was a lot of paperwork.

She felt... Well, there was no other word for it other than puny. She was barely 5 feet and the man must have been much more than that. She was also very miniscule in weight too, having suffered a weight condition before.
He also seemed slightly intense, ready to attack if a problem came up. Alison was a bit intimidated by people like this.

Alison listened carefully. Court? Prosecution? She was a bit confused. Maybe she'd ask the senior undersecretary about what he was talking about.
But then another man entered and started talking about a mission or something. She remembered the assignment. "Mr. Wordsmith, you might know that the minister's wedding is soon. He wished to have the tightest security possible at the wedding and that the best Hit Wizards and Aurors be protecting him and his wife at all times. He doesn't wish to have criminals lurking in the crowds, as there will be many people invited to the wedding." She relayed to him, as this was a very important task.

Syd looked up from Miss LaRousse at Forrester. So many people and yet so little time. One thing had to be done at a time.
"Yes, thank you Forrester. I'm handling Level 6 and I don't think we'll need our Aurors on that one. I'm going to go meet with the Floo Network people," he said, taking the list of people from him. "Na', Miss LaRousse... Minister Cooper wants us to be security at his wedding you say?"
He folded his hands on his desk and pursed his lips together. Apparently Minister Cooper felt that he needed top police for his little party when the teams were still too small to handle it. Though, it would be good training he supposed. Aurors though? For a wedding?
"I'm willing to supply Hit Wizards and Law Enforcement Squad Officers, but I'm not so sure about Aurors." | |

"Yes, sir." Alison said, watching her tone. She didn't want to sound like a military person. She watched his face carefully and stayed calm when he said he wasn't so sure about Aurors.
"Well, that was what was required in the assignment note. He said he wanted the best Hit Wizards and Aurors." She said again, carefully choosing each word. "I'll speak to the minister and see what I can do." She said, getting up. "I will see you soon, Mr. Wordsmith." She said, with a straight face.

Syd smiled to the woman and got up to see her out. He led her to the door and opened it for her politely.
"See you soon, Miss LaRousse. I hope Minister Cooper understands," he said smiling.
He returned to his desk and jotted some notes down in a planner. Sure Minister Cooper was important. The most important in fact. But the Hit Wizards were perfectly capable of handling the situation and Syd knew that if the Aurors were stuck at the wedding, they wouldn't be on call for... something big. Though Cooper was, no doubt, going to force him to send Aurors. | |

Angus lightly knocked on the Department Head's door and entered. "Sir, I'm so sorry I've been away so long. I had to go to my home town for my great aunt's funeral." He explained as he neared Syd's desk. He sat, "Honestly," He lowered his voice as if she could hear him, "I didn't really want to go, and I never cared for that ol' battle-axe. She was a vile woman. But my mother loved her dearly for some reason and was a nervous wreck, not to mention a basket case. She needed me."
Angus looked down at his lap and up at Syd again, "So what have I missed?"

Alison stopped to catch a breath and regained posture. She had walk-jogged all the way here and she really needed to talk to Mr. Wordsmith about this wedding of a nightmare it was causing her. She had to arrange who was going to be there to guard the minister and the guests and whatnot. Also, she needed to discuss the Auror matter. She knocked on the door and hoped he would be there.

Her face told another story, though. This was really urgent, as the meeting is in a couple days, and her assignment was due soon, and ecetera, ecetera, ecetera. There were also several details she needed to take care of.

So I can finish this assignment, Alison thought. "I'd appreciate it if you could supply a list of the people who are going to act as security there, at the wedding." She added, smiling.
