Ok. she had to work, but everyone was friendly and the muffins were amazing.
With extreme caution, Allie got herself some latte. The break room had people in, but her enthusiasm for coffee meant she hadn't really noticed who was in it. Putting her coffee carefully on a table, amazed she didn't spill any, Allie flopped onto one of the sofas.
Holli flopped next to Allie. 'HI!' She beamed. She still had to introduce Allie to someone... 'A-Allie? I need you to meet someone... Mum and dad haven't even met them-him yet...' Holli said, biting her lips. 'I thought, as my twin, you should meet him first...' Holli smiled.

Aidon pushed open the door with his shoulder and entered the break room carrying large, aluminum trays. He placed them on the counter near the coffee maker, and spread them out along the countertop. Pulling out his wand, he gave a casual flick, and the trays hovered about an inch or two above the countertops. With another wave of his wand, minute blue flames ignited at the bottom of each tray, which would serve to heat them lightly. He took a few steps back and whirled his wand in a giant circle. This time, food magically sprouted into the aluminum trays. There were fried eggs, pancakes of every flavor, sausage links, sausage patties, french toast, tater tots, hard-boiled eggs, and many more. He also conjured up a bowl of fruit and placed it to the side of the rows of trays. Figuring this would suffice for a tad bit, he walked back to the door, yanked it open, and pointed his wand at it. A sign unrolled itself from the tip of his wand and plastered itself to the front of the door, reading:
Quote:
Attention Magical Transportation employees. In light of the new Ministry sorting and placement, the Department of Magical Transportation shall be having a brunch in the break room to welcome the new employees as well as to get everyone acquainted. Please bring whichever food you like.
-Aidon B. Elric
Senior Broom Advisor of Regulatory Broom Control
Satisfied, Aidon left the door ajar and plopped down into an empty chair.
Katrina walked into the break room with her hands full. In one she was balancing a tray full of cookies of different sorts, in the other held croissants that her sister had insisted on buying before Katrina dropped her off at the day care.
Katrina had been defending the cookies in one hand from her younger sister since earlier this morning already. The younger girl had tried to swipe a few off the tray, Katrina had been lucky to even bring the cookies over here. Katrina placed the cookies amongst the spread of food. Perhaps she was late? Eep, she sure hoped not. Katrina set down the croissants as well and smiled at the other people person there.
Ah, she wasn't late. Thank Merlin for that. "Good morning," Katrina greeted brightly before pouring herself a cup of coffee and sitting down at a table. She was excited to meet all the new coworkers in the department.

Maine skipped into the room, humming, with trays of food trailing behind her. One refilling plate, piled high with finger sandwiches, another tray with pizza and a couple of tiered cupcake holders.
She'd stayed up all night baking those cupcakes, but it was worth it! Those trays held cupcakes of any flavor you could think of. All you had to do is oick up a cupcake, name the flavor you want and dig in.
Swishing her wand a little, the trays set themselves neatly on the table. She wasn't late... Was she? Turning around, she saw Katrina and Aidon.
"Goooooood morning!" she greeted cheerfully, before pouring herself a cuppa and snagging a cookie.
Nah... She wasn't late...
She plopped herself onto a chair and sipped her coffee, anxious to meet all the new people.
Allie walked into the break room, her mind on something other than work, as always.
Wouldn't it be cool to live in a cactus?
She shook her head vigorously. Cacti were not relavent. Especially in the Ministry of Magic. Why was she always so distracted? Allie needed to meet some new people, some were joining the department.
There weren't many people in the room. That was good; Allie would probably fall over something and that wouldn't be the best thing when meeting new people.
Food.
She couldn't help grinning. Pizza, cookies, muffins, everything Allie loved was in this room. This was the best. job. ever.
Looking at all the food, Allie helped herself to a cupcake, a magic cupcake. All she had to do was say the flavour, and ta da! She could have any flavour. 'Coffee,' she grinned, taking a large bite and grabbing a real cup of coffee. 'Morning everyone,' she smiled.

Katrina was still cradling her coffee between her hands, thinking about other ways to possibly make this a more welcoming experience for the new hires when Maine and Allie walked in. She smiled at the two of them and took a quick sip of her coffee. Oh, caffeine, that wonderful taste. "The cupcakes look absolutely amazing," Katrina said, complimenting the woman on the cupcakes. They were quite beautiful.
Perhaps a banner would be nice? One that said "Welcome to Level Six"? No, that would't work out, it was already too late to make one for the new hires to be all happy. Balloons would also be nice, but it would make this too much like a birthday party than anything, and this was still a workplace. Katrina swept her long blonde hair out of her face, tucking it behind and ear.
"How are you all doing on this lovely morning?" Katrina offered, seeing as no one was saying much. Besides, it would be better than an awkward silence between the workers.

"Hey, Al! Anything interesting happened lately?" she asked, frowning at the state of the room. It looked quite dull. Could do with a couple decorations...
"Have you ever tried cactus juice? It tastes absolutely perfect! It's like lemonade, but it tends to get me high..." she grinned. TRY IT!

Maine grinned at Katrina. She complimented Maine's cupcakes. GRIN!
"Thanks, Katrina!" she replied, a little too cheerfully. "Would you like one?" she asked, floating one of them towards Katrina's table.
Now, to figure out some decorations. "This place could do with more pop... POP! That's it! Let's do Balloons!" Maine grinned. She was in a very goooooood mood today.
Conjuring a bunch of balloons, she filled them up with a flick of her wand and charmed them to read "Welcome to Level 6!" in flashing colors.
"That's pretty..." she mused, watching them float uuuuuup towards the ceiling.
"What? Oh, I'm fine, Katrina! Absolutely spiffingly perfectly fine. How 'bout you? Cause you look really nice. I loooooooooooooove the necklace!" Maybe Maine had taken a little too much cactus juice...

Armen had been prepping the lists and scheduling times for all of the MLE employees practical Apparition exams when he looked at the time and realized he was going to be late for the Welcoming brunch for the new employees in the Break room.
Flicking his wand at the cabinet of drinks he had bought for today, the Department Head hovered them infront of him as he entered the breakroom and noticed the few people already there and the food they brought. "Good day Katrina, Aidon Allie, and Maine! Awesome spread so far!" Armen placed his bottles of butterbeer, gilly water, and pumpkin juice on his cabinet next to the food table.
"Now guys lets get some more chairs around these tables, so the duplicating spell will do." he said pointing at the tables and chairs around the room, "And some others can help out with blowing up these balloons and hanging them and these streamers around the room with basic sticking charms. I will help with a little of both." he grinned.
Anna quickly hurried to the break room. She really need one since she'd been working all setting up things and stuff needed for the department. She had to take a cup of coffee at least if not much.
She entered the room and saw Armen giving out instructions. She was confused..Hmm? What’s this for? She her brains got working and remembered the notice Armen had given them about new employees arriving stuff. Oh..Now i get it.
She moved forward into the room, hoping she didn't miss a lot except that Armen had given them instructions of chairs and balloons.
She walked towards Armen and said "Hey Armen. How are you?" She said and took a look around the room. "Hmm.. maybe i could help out in arranging the chairs" she said smiling to the man.

Maine grinned as Allie walked into the the Break Room.

"Have you ever tried cactus juice? It tastes absolutely perfect! It's like lemonade, but it tends to get me high..." she grinned. TRY IT!
Cactus juice?
No, seriously, you could get cactus juice?
Life complete, thought Allie, smiling at the thought.
'No way,' she grinned, amazed. 'That's the coolest thing ever. Where d'you get it?'
Allie looked at Maine, she was staring around the room, with a bored look on her face. She couldn't blame her, the room was kinda dull, especially as Allie liked bright colours and pictures, but that could be changed easily. No problem.

Were they ready for a party?
'Hello,' Allie smiled, as her department head walked in, carrying a load of party stuff. She grinned, parties were awesome, although there was always some kind of accident with Allie at parties, usually involving Allie, pizza and balloons. But those incidents could be forgotten.
'I'll help,' she smiled jumping up off her seat and heading for the streamers, they were so pretty.

Layla walked into the break room with a huge plate of fruit floating in front of her. They were suppose to take something right? This was her something. She hoped they liked it. Well anyone who wanted to keep their waist lines and wanted to stay healthy would like it wouldn't they?
She smiled and greeted the persons already present then head to the table with the fruit plate.
Right...let the socializing begin.

Melissa walked into the breakroom of the Ministry of Transportation. This was going to be her new work place. She kinda liked the sound of that. Her new work place.
She looked around her. Everybody seemed to know each other and there seemed to be a lot of them. But she had every confidence that she would get to know them and even remember all their names...eventually. It did feel kind of weird being the new kid on the block again, "But everybody has to start somewhere,"Melissa told herself. She looked forward to working in this new division and especially looked forward to making new portkeys for the wizarding world to use. She already had some in mind.
"But for now, it is time to make new friends. So chin up Melissa and start smiling."
Katrina smiled back at the, apparently hyper, woman. Merlin, was this woman consuming too much coffee or sugar? It frightened Katrina quite a bit.
"Oh, no, I'm fine, best save them for our new coworkers," Katrina said with a smile, swishing and flicking her wand, levitating it back where it belonged. Plus, she didn't exactly want to get hyper off of sugar and coffee in the morning. And especially not with all the new hires around here. It would be completely disastrous.
It was as if Maine had read Katrina's mind about the balloons. Merlin's beard, that was odd. Still, it was quite gorgeous... minus Maine's very childish attitude at the moment. Perhaps someone ought to move her away from the sweets.
"That's lovely to hear, Maine," Katrina said, smiling. She looked down at her necklace out of habit and looked back up. "Thank you, I'm doing very well, you look quite lovely yourself this morning," Katrina replied pleasantly.
SPOILER!!: theee bossman!

Were they ready for a party?
Katrina watched as the bottles of drinks floated onto the cabinet and smiled at him. "Good morning Mister Recard," she chirped happily. There was a reason to celebrate after all; they had coffee, they had drinks, they had snacks and new workers on Level Six, what was not to be excited about?
Katrina started to help duplicate chairs and tried not to grimace at the idea of blowing up balloons. She was fairly certain at least one person would suck in some helium and talk in that obnoxious Alvin the Chipmunk kind of voice.
But still, maybe it'd be quite interesting to greet new coworkers with such a voice?
SPOILER!!: Layla

Katrina smiled as Layla entered the room. "Good morning," she greeted. She glanced at the fruit platter. She supposed that was healthy and all... but it was a party! Well, kind of like a party... so maybe the fruit platter was alright. If someone brought in a platter of cheese and crackers, well, then this would just be a semi-formal gathering type of thing.

She carried her mug of coffee with her, of course. She wouldn't want to lose it amongst the people here. Katrina stuck out her free hand for the woman to shake, should she want to.
"I'm Katrina, Katrina Rayne," the twenty-one year old female said, introducing herself.

Sancho strolled into the ministry, ready for his first day of work. He was slightly reminiscent of the scent of coffee that he was usually greeted with with work. Although the place seemed to have coffee, it was obviously at a lower amount, thus less of a scent, than he was used to, and it had him kind of sad. He would have to try the coffee here to see if it were up o par, if not, he would be bringing his own.
Entering his new department, and from there, the room he was expected to meet at, he was greeted with the sight of lots of females. The Aussie was surprised by how many women were in the department. It wouldn't bug him though.
Staring around the room, Sancho decided to announce his beautiful presence. "Morning all, I'm Sancho Vasquez, new employee," He said confidently, smiling charmingly at everyone in the room.

Oh and people were coming in now in a steady-ish sort of flow...good good. She remembered her first day of work...awkward...
Anyways, she was no longer the rookie on the block and it felt good. She nodded in the direction of the woman who had came in behind her.
"Good morning." Curt and to the point. Really? She was becoming more like Dacs every day and that was cause for concerns...she was older and well..she was better and nicer..certainly prettier too." How are you?" She added. That was certainly more pleasant sounding.

Layla smiled at Katrina. She was a senior, senior to even her who was a bit older than the woman, but she seemed to be holding her own in the department just fine. Good on her.
"Good morning Kat," she replied pleasantly. She didn't suppose the woman would mind her shortening her name.

"Welcome," she said to the woman..."and welcome to you Mr.Vasquez."

Jackie's nerves was strung as tight as a guitar. First day of work! And that too, at THE MINISTRY! So not what she was expecting. And there was a sort of welcome brunch at this break room. She entered softly and looked around the happy and smiling faces surrounded by food.
What should she do? Maybe she should wait for their Deaprtment Head or something? Oh, why couldn't the mister who sent the letter be specific!
Jackie hovered near the door, wondering whether she should bolt out, or just sit with the people and act as if you've been here all along. She started playing with a strand of her silky midnight black hair, waiting for... something.

"Good morning, and hi there. I'm doing great. My name's Melissa and it is really nice to meet you. I hope you don't mind but I missed your name", Melissa tried to recall whether the young lady had mentioned her name, but she wasn't sure.

Eliza adjusted the hem of her coat as she walked towards the Transportation Break Room. This was her first day in that Department. Not to mention that it was just her first week in England.
She brushed out the hair that was seemingly covering her eyes. Hopefully this was going to be fine.
As she walked inside, she saw the smiling faces of the workers, chatting and eating. Liz felt hungry all of a sudden.
Ava was extremely nervous about her first day of work for the Ministry but was super excited at the same time! She couldn't wait to meet all of her new work collegues and get to work as soon as possible. She hurried down Level 6 corridor, heading towards the Break room. She tried to memorise the route so she wouldn't get lost next time. She paused in front of the door and caught her breath. Here we go, Ava. Just be yourself and you will be just fine. She gently pushed open the door and walked in, noticing how many people were actually there. She especially loved the welcome banner. She smiled at everyone and said, "Hi, nice to meet you all, my name is Ava Smart."
Victoria was nervous about her first day of work, she had received the owl about the job at her wedding reception. She had just come back from her honeymoon in California, she walked into the break room and looked round at all the new faces.
Katrina noticed yet another woman walk in. Merlin, they all seemed so much elder than her and she wondered why they had joined only now. But deciding it was rude to ask, she merely introduced herself. "Hello, welcome to Level Six, I'm Katrina Rayne," she greeted, cheerfully. Smile, and move on.
SPOILER!!: Melissa; FireboltAvis88

"It's lovely meeting you as well, Melissa," she said, returning her hand by her side, and lifting her other arm to take a sip of her coffee. "This place is quite the place to be, and welcome back to the Ministry as well then, I suppose," Katrina said with a slight giggle. "In which department did you work prior to Magical Transportation, if you don't mind me asking?" Katrina asked. She was quite curious for she had never dreamed of even leaving the department of Magical Transportation.

Ah, the new employees seemed to be coming in quickly. Katrina was eager to meet all of them, she did enjoy meeting new coworkers. She took a sip of her coffee before smiling at the man who had arrived. "Good morning to you as well, Mister Vasquez, I'm Katrina Rayne, old employee and still here," Katrina said, giggling quietly to herself. Mostly because what she had said was completely ridiculous, but also because she was just making a fool of herself today.
SPOILER!!: Layla; Davvy_Wavvy

"Good morning Kat," she replied pleasantly. She didn't suppose the woman would mind her shortening her name.
Katrina she thought to herself, but she let it slide. It was a variation of Katrina so she supposed the woman hadn't meant it in a degrading way of any sort. Plus, the female before her was being pleasant and smiling. "Looking forward to meeting all the new coworkers?" Katrina asked. Oh new workers... she thought back to the last time she had been new to the department... two years ago... and she had not moved from the department since, she was quite proud of her accomplishment to be here for such a very long time.

What should she do? Maybe she should wait for their Deaprtment Head or something? Oh, why couldn't the mister who sent the letter be specific!
Jackie hovered near the door, wondering whether she should bolt out, or just sit with the people and act as if you've been here all along. She started playing with a strand of her silky midnight black hair, waiting for... something.
Spotting yet another new hire, Katrina smiled warmly at the woman, knowing what it felt like to be new. She gestured the woman in towards everyone else. Come on, no one bit others here... at least Katrina was fairly sure of that. Katrina was also pretty certain there were no vampires on Level Six, perhaps in the department of Magical Creatures they did... she would have to look into that some day.

As she walked inside, she saw the smiling faces of the workers, chatting and eating. Liz felt hungry all of a sudden.
Katrina looked at the most recent arrival and smiled at the woman as well. Merlin's beard, Katrina was doing an awful lot of smiling recently. She decided it was best to introduce herself, to acquaint herself with the rest of the people whom she would have to work with, personally or not at one point or another. "I'm Katrina," she said, introducing herself to the woman, while holding out a hand for the female to shake.
Oh all the people, Katrina did not believe she had ever seen so many together at one time. Perhaps at the last welcome brunch?

She tried to memorise the route so she wouldn't get lost next time. She paused in front of the door and caught her breath. Here we go, Ava. Just be yourself and you will be just fine. She gently pushed open the door and walked in, noticing how many people were actually there. She especially loved the welcome banner. And here was another new arrival, one who announced herself as well. She smiled at the female and waved. "Welcome to level Six, Miss Smart, I'm Katrina Rayne," she said. This woman sure seemed happy to be here, maybe a little tired, but still, happy. Besides, if the woman was tired, that was nothing a little coffee couldn't fix. Or tea, if the woman preferred that instead.
